Due to its numerous applications, commercial demand for silver nanoparticles produced by biological means is rising. This procedure has no adverse effects, is inexpensive, takes little time, and is non-toxic. The current work uses leaf extracts from Enicostema axillare (Mamajavo) to synthesise silver nanoparticles. The nanoparticles may be characterised by UV–VIS, FT-IR, SEM, TEM, and EDAX. The effectiveness of the screening inhibition assay and alpha-amaylase inhibitory activities is assessed using methanolic leaf extracts and silver nanoparticles. The outcome shows that AgNps exhibit aggregates of grains with a restricted size distribution range between 60 and 80 nm. In comparison to leaf extract, silver nanoparticles made from methanolic leaf extracts have high alpha-amaylase inhibitory action. This study showed that Enicostema axillare's AgNps decrease in the presence of alpha-amylase inhibitors.
