Rates of energy transfer from N 2A 3 Σ +u to atomic mercury and intric oxide

Rate coefficients for electronic energy transfer from N 2A 3 Σ + u to Hg and NO were recorded as 2.90 (±0.15) × 10 −10 and 5.45 (±0.30 × 10 −11 cm 3 sec −1 respectively. Excitation of the molecular nitrogen was achieved by monochromatic flash-photosensitization with the resonance radiations of xenon and krypton.
