His original report concerned three cases, and since that time an additional 14 cases have appeared in the world literature.2-7 We wish to record one further case with observations relative to this disorder.True parathyroid deficiency is characterized by chronic or recurrent tetany, low serum calcium, elevated serum phosphorus, lenticular opacities and calcifications in the basal ganglia.
