Artistic Negotiation of Emma and Lucy Annual Drama The Musical Jekyll & Hyde: A Performance Quadrilogue View

The main focus is on the artistic aspects of the two female characters, Emma Carew and Lucy Harris in the production of “The Musical Jekyll & Hyde” by the Annual Drama team of Faculty of Language and Arts, Satya Wacana Christian University Salatiga, in 2023. The study focused on the process and artistic decision making within the context of management, musicology, dramaturgy, and literary studies. The study highlights how Emma and Lucy, are constructed in feminism artistic analysis in contemporary drama. The characters represented female with their domestic and private roles. Observation, interviews, documentation, and library studies were conducted to gather the data. Using performance centered approach, the study thoroughly observed the artistic decision process of the three actors of performance quadrilogue, namely the source, producer, and performer. As a college theater, all the artistic decision was made by the students. The four artistic elements of theater production, comprising the verbal text, song, movement, and scenary, portrayed the story’s setting in the 1800s in England. Emma’s verbal text depicted the English women of the elite with their domestic orientation. On the contrary, Lucy portrayed liberal English women. The four artistic elements in a theater production, referred to Broadway theater of the same title. This study positioned artistic elements as its study object instead of drama as a media of English learning. These two domains are discussed to sharpen on the construction of the female figure in the artistic perspective of feminist analysis. Post-production studies are also conducted to examine how students gain experience of an artistic decision-making process in producing a performance. It was conducted through the management’s delegating mechanism in the chart of the structured organization.

Case Study of Chinese Traditional Martial Arts Inheritance Based on Deep Learning

With the development of modern science and technology, computer technology is more and more applied to the learning and development of martial arts. In order to study and expand the way of martial arts, this paper analyzes the role of the traditional way of martial arts teaching mode and computer-aided teaching mode. Computer technology breaks old ideas, breaks traditional teaching methods, and promotes the learning and development of martial arts. The way of martial arts collection is the combination of a series of movements, which means the protective significance of boxing and attack. Based on the analysis of the current emotional state of students and its reasons, this paper studies the positive influence of various elements of traditional martial arts on students’ emotional states and puts forward specific measures to enhance the positive effect of traditional martial arts on students’ emotional states.

Features of the development of strength and flexibility of middle school children by means of fitness with elements of martial arts

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the development of flexibility and strength of schoolchildren aged 13-14 under the influence of martial arts fitness. The purpose of the study is to determine the effectiveness of using fitness exercises with elements of martial arts for the development of flexibility and strength abilities of secondary school children. The research involved 20 boys and 20 girls who studied in the 8th grade of a secondary school. The following methods were used to solve the research tasks: studying and analyzing literary sources on the research topic; pedagogical experiment; pedagogical testing of the level of physical abilities development, methods of mathematical statistics. To conduct the pedagogical experiment all participants of the experiment were divided into two groups: experimental (10 girls and 10 boys) and control (the same composition). The essence of the experiment was that for children who were included in the experimental group during 5 weeks during physical education lessons an experimental variable module on fitness with elements of martial arts was introduced. When developing the variable module on martial arts fitness, we adhered to the requirements for variable modules in the current physical education curriculum for schools. Girls and boys in the control group attended physical education classes based on the educational material of the variable module gymnastics. The study proved that the use of a variable fitness module based on the use of classical aerobics exercises and martial arts elements during physical education lessons in middle school contributes to a statistically significant improvement in flexibility (forward bending) and strength (flexion and extension of the arms in a lying position and lifting the torso from a lying position in 30 seconds). At the same time, such exercises are emotional and can have a positive impact on adolescents' functional fitness, well-being, and mood.

Designing for Engagement: The Role of Interactive Elements in Public Art Sculptures in Shanghai

Public art in urban landscapes are significant as they play a cultural role for both beautifying and reflecting cultural identity. Traditional public sculptures, catch our eye but quickly fade from cognitive due to passive experience. However, currently, pubic art are integrated with interactive elements such as touch, visuals, sound etc. to enhance perception. Thus, this study aims to i) To explore how public art sculptures can be designed to foster interaction and engagement with the public. ii) To investigates the role of interactive elements in sculptures, such as movement, touch, and multimedia components, and their effectiveness in creating meaningful public experiences. This study adopted a mixed method involving survey of 100 partcipants through online platform and four case studies. Following analysis, it was found that the physical, visual, auditory, and digital interactions contribute uniquely to the engagement of public. Though the study was limited due to its participant selection, it laid a foundation for understanding the designing elements of public art.

Public Art and Cultural Identity: Analysing the Keris Sculpture under Municipal Hang Tuah Jaya, Melaka

In the Malay community, the Keris served not only as a self-defence tool but also as a significant symbol reflecting the Malay community and cultural heritage. This study explores the symbolic meaning and cultural significance of the public sculpture Keris at Jalan Air Keroh, installed by the Municipal Hang Tuah Jaya, Melaka Councils. Applying Feldman's art criticism theory, which encompasses four main aspects - description, analysis, interpretation, and judgement, this research seeks to investigate the design and meaning of the sculpture. Despite its prominent visibility and visual solid impact along the roadside, its deep cultural significance and influence on the local community remain enigmatic. By providing a comprehensive analysis of the symbolic and artistic elements of the Keris sculpture, this study aims to bridge this knowledge gap by utilising a systematic descriptive qualitative approach based on Feldmans's theory. The findings of this study are expected to provide comprehensible information that can enhance both local and tourist understanding and appreciation of the sculpture. It can also strengthen interactions and appreciation of Malay culture in Melaka. Findings showed the potential of public sculpture in Melaka, which serves as an aesthetic element and a crucial component to bringing a closer understanding and appreciation in promoting the cultural and historical significance of the Malay community to the general public.

Assessing Tourists' Willingness to Pay for Community-Based Ecotourism: Enhancing Sustainability and Local Involvement

Malaysia’s captivating attractions are increasingly promoted through community-based ecotourism (CBE) initiatives. These efforts aim to empower local communities, conserve nature, and generate income by involving locals in managing ecotourism resources and activities, ensuring both economic benefits and sustainability of protected environments. CBE highlights diverse customs and cultures, enhancing ecotourism experiences through local resources. Understanding tourists' attitudes and preferences is crucial for developing sustainable cultural tourism packages. Key inquiries involve measuring local community participation, artistic elements, and tourism offerings in CBE management around protected parks. Evaluating tourism preferences and willingness to pay (WTP) for attributes provided by local businesses is essential for effective CBE management strategies in rural areas. This study employs the Choice Experiment model to analyze tourists' preferences for CBE activities and their marginal willingness to pay (MWTP) for management attributes at Min House Camp (MHC) in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. The attributes examined include local community involvement, activity packages, accommodation facilities, and information provided. The study found 'super' package activity, increased local participation and employment, excellent accommodation, and adequate information to be the most important attributes. The study suggests that business owners and local managers adopt the CBE concept and focus on the key qualities that have been identified. Local communities and stakeholders should implement new tour packages at MHC, combining desirable features to meet market demand. Future studies could use a mixed logit model to account for multiple attributes of community ecotourism tours in protected parks.

Rhythm in the Poetic Introduction

Rhythm is a poetic necessity for constructing a poem, which in turn gives us other rhythms and other phonemes in the background of the meter, and behind the words, and hence the meter does not constitute a major value in constructing a poem unless it is linked to other artistic elements of writing poetry. In this section, we address the rhythmic phenomenon in the introductions to poetry collections in various forms of Arabic poetry: classical, free metrical, and prose poetry, by reading a number of diverse poetic models, starting from the fact that poetry is not poetry, and that poetic meters do not form a poem except to the extent that the poet invests in other elements of poetry, in the image, style, density and depth of language, and rhetorical diversification in performing the poem, and also departing from the pattern by renewing and developing and striving to create advanced innovations in the broad rhythmic horizon, and in the formative and linguistic horizon of poetic introductions, and in this section we have monitored a group of rhythmic phenomena such as: repetition, phonemes of language, the rhythm of the visual space of writing, and the relationship between effect and reception. In light of this awareness, poetic introductions may come in a multi-rhythmic form that does not necessarily stop at the inherited poetic form, but rather varies in its performance and in the methods of delivery, investing the space of the poetic page in conveying the poet’s semantic vision.

Research on Algorithm of Composite Material Painting Creation based on Image Processing Technology

In the study we proposed a novel approach is called a Customized Convolutional Neural Network (CCNN) to innovate in the field of art creation, particularly in composite material paintings. This research harnesses the power of image processing technology to analyze and synthesize various artistic elements, thereby facilitating the creation of composite material paintings. The core of the study revolves around the development of a unique algorithm that enables the integration of diverse materials and textures into a cohesive artistic expression. The Customized CNN is trained on a vast dataset of images, encompassing a wide spectrum of textures, colors, and patterns, representative of different materials commonly used in art. The network learns to identify and replicate the aesthetic qualities of these materials, thereby empowering artists to explore new realms of creativity. The algorithm not only recognizes the distinct characteristics of each material but also understands how to blend them effectively, maintaining artistic coherence. The results are evaluated to prove proposed performance.

The dialogue of the past and the present in the innovative trends of the works of pottery of Qinzhou Nixing

The object of this study is the ceramic art of Qingzhou Nisin, which has a history of over 1300 years. The aesthetic characteristics of Qingzhou Nisin ceramics are highlighted, and the current situation of insufficient innovation in modern ceramics is summarized and analyzed. The importance of design innovations is emphasized. A new method of innovative design for Qingzhou Nisin ceramics is proposed, which involves combining the regional culture of Guangxi Beibu Gulf with traditional artistic elements of Qingzhou Nisin ceramics to give them new vitality. The article highlights four aspects that facilitate the realization of innovations in Qingzhou Nisin ceramic design: the fusion of pattern elements, the integration of morphological elements, the integration of texture components, and the use of complex materials. The research methodology includes a literature review of Qingzhou Nisin ceramic art and its contribution to the development of innovative trends in this direction, an analysis of Qingzhou Nisin's works was made in order to understand its style and approach to creating ceramic art. The main conclusions of the study are that Qingzhou Nisin ceramic art is an important part of Chinese civilization, and its development should be based on preserving the continuity of traditions and culture. To restore the connection between the regional culture of Guangxi Beibu Gulf and innovations in Qingzhou Nisin ceramic design, research and innovation practices are necessary. To develop Qingzhou Nisin ceramic art, innovations in design should be based on preserving the continuity of traditions and culture, as well as restoring the connection between regional culture and innovations. Overall, the article shows that Qingzhou Nisin ceramic art is an important part of Chinese civilization, and its development should be based on preserving the continuity of traditions and culture.

유치원 교육과정 예술관련 영역의 구성, 목표, 내용의 변화 탐색

The purpose of this study is to examine the evolution of the structure, goals, and content in the area of aesthetic art in the kindergarten curriculum by analyzing the respective curricula and guidebooks from the 1st Kindergarten Curriculum (1969) to the 2019 revised Nuri Curriculum. The names and characteristics of the area of aesthetic art have evolved with the demands of the times and educational contexts, transitioning from ‘Art and Music’ to ‘Social and Emotional Development,’ ‘Emotional Development,’ ‘Expressive Life,’ and ‘Art Experience.’ The primary goals of art education have consistently emphasized ‘aesthetic sensibility’ and ‘creativity’ across all curricula, with additional goals such as emotional development, basic skills, and the exploration of artistic elements being incorporated over time. In terms of content, ‘exploration’ was included in the content categories starting from the 6th curriculum. ‘Expression,’ initially focused on music, art, and movement, gradually expanded to encompass literature and dramatic play, eventually emphasizing ‘integrated’ expression from the 6th curriculum onwards. ‘Appreciation’ similarly broadened from traditional art fields to include nature and objects, with a recent focus on fostering an appreciation attitude as a key content area.

Addressing causality: participatory evaluation on improvisational drama workshops for people with dementia and their carers

ABSTRACT Despite advancements in arts and health research, the processes through which arts activities contribute to wellbeing and care remain ambiguous. This study aims to shed new light on causal links surrounding the impact of improvisational drama workshops on people with dementia and their carers at care facilities, using both participatory and goal-free evaluation. The article outlines challenges and strategies in addressing causality in the arts, followed by methodology and research context. Findings are discussed framed by key considerations for arts impact: negative impacts, uniqueness of the arts, artistic quality, and long-term outcomes. We conclude that a two-layered causal process, micro and macro, contributes to meaningful impact. This perspective emphasizes learning from negative impacts, integrating artistic elements with other relevant factors through trial and error, and reassessing shared goals during implementation. Sustained efforts in this endeavor can lead to significant long-term outcomes, extending beyond individual behavioral changes to community growth.

Investigating the Impact of Film Quality and Viewing Environment on Viewer Satisfaction

Viewer satisfaction measures how well a film's technical and artistic elements match or surpass the expectations and tastes provided by the viewer. Film quality refers to a film's technical and creative components. Out of 75 surveys that were provided, 50 valid results were utilized to emphasize the aspects affecting viewer satisfaction in Impact of Film Quality and View Environment. To enhance data validity and reliability, we employed the Statistical Package (SPSS) software to carry out the following tests. The correlation technique was used to measure the extent of the connection between several factors like film quality, viewing environment, and the level of viewership satisfaction and the results yielded positive results. Proper regression analysis was also conducted to investigate the correctness of Resolution quality, Sound design, Cinematography, Seating comfortness, Ambient Lighting, and Viewing distance. The findings indicated how the watching setting and the caliber of the film affected the viewers' overall happiness levels. The findings also affirmed the robustness of the model which indicated that film quality impacted the respondents more than the viewing environment. These factors are highlighted in this study as key influences on viewer experiences and provide valuable information regarding possible improvements in the processes of film creation and marketing to increase audience engagement. The prevention statistically justified the quality of the film and the viewer's satisfaction with having a successful film.

Ekspresi Estetik Bangsa Indonesia dalam Tutur Pantun

Pantun is one of the Indonesian speech culture that contains noble thoughts. In the speech tradition, pantun is used as a recreative and educational tool. Pantun has aesthetic values, elements of art, beauty that reflect the expression of the Indonesia people in looking at life. This research aims to analyze the aesthetic value of pantun. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative. The research data is in the form of words in the pantun array. Data collection techniques through literature study. The data analysis is done by (1) identifying elements that contribute to building the aesthetic concept; (2) identifying elements that get emphasis; and (3) concluding the harmony between aesthetic elements in forming a unity of meaning. The results of the data analysis state that pantun holds cultural aesthetics, especially evident in the use of rhyme and philosophy. The results of the data analysis state that pantun has aesthetics, which can be seen in the cover, rhyme, and harmony. Sampiran images of nature as an introduction to the philosophical thoughts contained in the body. The aesthetics of pantun are closely related to ethical elements so that beauty appears in the form as well as the holiness and nobility of the ethics it contains.

Research on the Emotional Expression of Kandinsky's Abstract Art Theory in Public Space Interior Design and the Application of Catering Space Design

As people's artistic tastes evolve, public space interior design expectations have shifted from merely meeting functional and comfort needs to emphasizing artistry and aesthetics. Abstract art, which focuses on form and eschews traditional realistic expression, has the potential to spark curiosity and innovation while creating a distinct inner world. Integrating abstract art into interior decoration meets the growing demand for artistic aesthetics in interior design, which is the main focus of this study. This study begins by analyzing the theoretical meaning and creative value of abstract art through a systematic approach. It then explores the application and aesthetic value of abstract art in public space interior design using case studies. Additionally, the study investigates the influence of abstract art elements on the development of art design in China through literature research. Finally, it examines the impacts and shortcomings of abstract art's aesthetic thought in public space interior design. It uses the catering space design as an example while presenting cases of interior design application. The aim is to provide a theoretical and practical reference for enhancing interior design's aesthetics and artistic characteristics.

Celebration of the 400th anniversary of the Lithuanian book

In 1947, Lithuania celebrated the 400th anniversary of the first Lithuanian book, M. Mažvydas's Cathechismus, published in 1547. During this celebration, scientific conferences and book exhibitions were organized, and several significant works devoted to the anniversary were published. Among these was one of the most artistic editions: "The First Lithuanian Book" (a photographic text of the Cathechismus and its transliteration in Latin letters, with articles by J. Kruopas and illuminations by M. Bulakas). In the collection of articles "Ancient Lithuanian Book," significant research in the history of the book and literature was presented, including K. Korsakas's "The First Lithuanian Book," V. Mykolaitis's "Artistic Elements in the Works of Mažvydas and His Contemporaries," P. Galaunė's "Artistic Design of Mažvydas's Book," and V. Abramavičius's "Printing-Offices of Ancient Lithuanian Books." These works addressed issues such as the conditions under which the first Lithuanian book was published, its significance, the date of its publication, its intended audience, authorship and collaboration issues, and analyses of the published texts from linguistic, literary, pedagogical, and ethnographic perspectives, as well as typographical particularities. Some material from the jubilee celebration, such as reports from conferences, was published in the "Directory of the Academy of Sciences of the Lithuanian SSR" (1948, vol. 2). Jubilee reports by V. Mykolaitis, "The First Lithuanian Book" (1948), and K. Korsakas, "Development of Lithuanian Book over 400 Years" (1948), were published separately. During the anniversary year, the first Lithuanian book and other works by M. Mažvydas were extensively investigated, defining their significance for linguistic science, cultural history, and the expansion of literature, and showing the historical development of Lithuanian book publishing.

Experimental Photography Study by Kurnia Ngayuga Wibowo “Memory Lane”

The work Experimental Photo Memory Lane by Kurnia Ngayuga Wibowo is a notable piece that has been featured in various prestigious exhibitions, such as "Permata Youth Photostory" organized by Permata Photojournalist Grant and Pannafoto Institute, Bandung Photography Triennale, Bandung Photography Month, and SEA Reading Photobookdummies in Taiwan. This work is considered a masterpiece by Kurnia Ngayuga Wibowo and serves as a compelling example of experimental photography. The appreciation of such a work is often conducted through art criticism, which plays a crucial role in interpreting and appreciating the underlying content of a photographic work. Understanding and interpreting each photograph can vary significantly, depending on the perspective of the critic or the photographer. The purpose of this research is to explore and analyze the artistic elements and intentions behind the Memory Lane series through the lens of art criticism, specifically using Feldman’s art criticism theory. This qualitative study utilizes Feldman’s four-step approach to art criticism-description, formal analysis, interpretation, and evaluation—to gain a deeper understanding of the photography series. The findings of this research reveal that Memory Lane represents a form of experimental photography, which navigates various challenges inherent to the medium, particularly in terms of storytelling through images. The study demonstrates how art criticism can provide diverse perspectives on a single work of art and how these perspectives can be integrated with other art forms to enrich the overall interpretation. The implications of this research extend to the broader field of art criticism and photography, highlighting the importance of critical analysis in understanding the multifaceted nature of photographic art and its capacity to convey complex narratives.

Research on the Clustering of Emotional Elements in Art and Design Based on Visual Language Communication

Since many different emotional expressions can be found in artistic and design compositions, it can be challenging to effectively extract and analyze emotional information from such a wide range of artworks. This study uses deep learning approaches to extract and cluster emotional aspects from art and design works to address this problem. The suggested method uses DBSCAN (Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise) for clustering and combines the VGG-16 and Bi-LSTM models for feature extraction from images. The suggested approach works better than existing models in extracting emotional information pieces, according to experimental results. With a Macro-F1 assessment score of 0.9241, the suggested technique can efficiently examine emotional inclinations in artistic and design works in practical applications. In conclusion, this study discusses the potential applications of the suggested emotion element extraction and clustering method in the field of emotional analysis in art and design, offering fresh approaches to issues in this area.

Multimedia Innovation and Integration of Folk Art Elements in Interior Design

In the long history, China has accumulated a large number of excellent traditional cultures, especially folk-art elements, which are very rich in content and are good design materials and inspiration sources. With the development of China's economy and society, people's requirements for interior decoration have become higher, so multimedia graphic design to meet users' personalized needs is a typical implicit optimization problem. Therefore, this paper combines folk art elements with modern digital processing technology and interior design of image processing, and at the same time, the improved interactive genetic algorithm introduces users' subjective evaluation into the design process, allowing users to participate in the design work. Experiments show that the algorithm can effectively meet the personalized needs of customers in the process of graphic design. It has played a positive role in the integration of national art and modern interior design and the embodiment of national characteristics in modern multimedia design.

A CRITICAL REVIEW OF CHILDREN'S PAINTINGS FROM A VISUAL ANALYSIS PERSPECTIVE

This study explores the qualitative and stylistic differences in paintings created by preschool-aged children aged 5 and 6 years, aiming to understand how developmental factors influence their artistic expression. Painting, as a universal medium for artistic expression, captures emotions, ideas, and moments through colors and textures, particularly evident in children's uninhibited creativity and spontaneity. Variations in children's painting abilities based on age reflect differing stages of motor and cognitive development, highlighting the need to comprehend these differences for effective early childhood art education. Employing observational methods and visual analysis, this research examines artworks from 13 preschool students at Holistik Preschool in Sarawak, Malaysia, analyzing artistic elements such as lines, shapes, colors, and composition. Findings reveal that 5-year-old children often depict simpler shapes, vibrant colors, and direct representations of objects, indicative of developing motor skills and cognitive abilities. In contrast, 6-year-olds exhibit more refined motor skills and cognitive development, creating artworks with intricate details, complex compositions, and sophisticated use of color and shading. These developmental milestones underscore the importance of nurturing creativity through enriched artistic environments and diverse stimuli in early childhood education. Recommendations emphasize integrating art into interdisciplinary learning to foster lifelong engagement with the arts from an early age, supporting holistic cognitive and emotional growth in children.
