This study analyzed the mise-en-scène in the SF drama <Grid> and considered its meaning. The dystopian imagination embodied by <Grid> is an imagination of the future that humans are consciously or unconsciously concerned about. <Grid> effectively recognizes the absurdity of the contemporary era through unfamiliar viewing while mixing the fictional and unfamiliar spaces where ‘Grid’ exists without completely destroying the timelessness of the real world. The world in <Grid> is a huge panopticon monitoring and control society caused by the excess of technology and information composed around those in power who dominate information. Power is the power to control someone, and media technology is likely to end up in the possession of those in power. <Grid> evokes the fact that when a powerful person has the power of visibility, the ripple effect increases indefinitely and asks the question of whether the sacrifice of a small number for the happiness of the majority is justified. In addition, <Grid> asks questions that do not have a dichotomous answer of right or wrong among characters chasing their desires, effectively realizing the power of the eyes due to the imbalance of power through panopticon space composition and electronic panopticon. The mise-en-scene of <Grid> effectively visualizes the characters' desires, deficiencies, and the meaning of space-time movement through various metaphors and symbols, and makes us reconsider the right direction to live in modern society.
