Access to electronic information resources in law libraries during covid-19 period: The case of office of the director of public prosecutions library, Kenya

The study examined the level of access of electronic resources among library users during the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected. Document review were further used to strengthen the findings of the study. On the use of electronic resources, the findings revealed there was increased use of electronic resources during Covid-19 pandemic, confirming that electronic resources were essential in sustaining library services during the pandemic. The results indicated that effective use of electronic resources requires library users possess skills to use the access equipment such as computers and Internet facilities. The findings further indicated that there is need for the library staff to create awareness of the available resources among library users. At the same time the study revealed that some of the challenges to the use of electronic resources were lack of computers, poor Internet connectivity and inadequate search skills which was linked to lack of elaborate training.

Analysing Library and Information Science Articles Using Topic Modeling Approaches

Identifying trends in research through co-citation or content analysis of journal contents is quite a common practice in LIS research. In this study, however, we proposed the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), a popular topic-modeling approach for identifying research trends of published articles in three Scopus-indexed Indian LIS journals. A total of 1213 titles & their abstracts published between 2011 and 2022 have been considered. From these data, a corpus of frequently used 15 key phrases was identified from each journal using Count Vectorizer and then ten topics having higher coherence scores were extracted from each journal corpus using LDA techniques to understand to what extent these topics are different in these journals. The analysis of the study indicates that ‘Library users’ studies’ especially in academic libraries; and ‘bibliometric indicators for measuring research growth are a few common topics in these journals and, technological innovation; utilisation of electronic and print information resources; library management; or network analysis are some of the topics that are journal specific. From the t-SNE visualisation and pyLDAvis diagram, it was seen that the topics of DJLIT are significantly unique with discrete distributions than the other two journals. On analysing the growth of the top ten topics longitudinally, it was seen that research on digital libraries, analysing the global output, online search strategy, ranking universities, etc. are concurrent interests of research among researchers while academic library resources, including electronic resources and its use, open access are among diminishing research interests of authors. Since the topic-modeling approach can provide results devoid of bias, it can be used to identify research land scape longitudinally as well as obsolescence of topic in a domain.

The use and perceived value of electronic health information resources by health care professionals in the field of medicine, pharmacy, and nursing in Jazan province, Saudi Arabia

BackgroundHealthcare workers increasingly use Electronic Health Information Resources (EHIRs) to make evidence-based decisions. Our study was intended to assess the perception, attitude, and practice of healthcare professionals in medicine, pharmacy, and nursing regarding their perceived value and use of EHIRs. MethodsWe conducted an observational cross-sectional study using a pre-validated questionnaire among healthcare professionals in Jazan province from September 2022 to February 2023. We included healthcare professionals and interns with medical, pharmacy, or nursing degrees and excluded those who refused informed consent. ResultsWe included fully completed data from 294 participants, with an actual response rate of just 80.1 %. Almost 87.41 % utilized the health information resources at their workplace, with UpToDate [39.45 %] and Medscape [67.01 %] being the most frequently used medical databases. The health facilities' access to electronic health resources significantly impacted healthcare professionals' [p = 0.04] and medical interns' [p = 0.02] roles. Faculty members felt the need to access electronic health information at their workplace [p = 0.00]. Lack of time to access electronic health information due to a busy schedule was a significant reason that impacted the attitude of medical professionals [p = 0.008] and nursing staff [p = 0.025]. An excessive amount of clinically unrelated data was the primary obstacle (181/294, p < 0.0001) in using electronic health information resources. ConclusionOur study showed the pattern of healthcare professionals using EHIRs in the Jazan province, Saudi Arabia. We believe the study's outcome can help increase the calibre of electronic health information services available to healthcare professionals and raise awareness of different EHIRs in improving clinical care.

Exploring the potential of large language models and generative artificial intelligence (GPT): Applications in Library and Information Science

The presented study offers a systematic overview of the potential application of large language models (LLMs) and generative artificial intelligence tools, notably the GPT model and the ChatGPT interface, within the realm of library and information science (LIS). The paper supplements and extends the outcomes of a comprehensive information survey on the subject matter with the author’s own experiences and examples showcasing possible applications, demonstrated through illustrative instances. This study does not involve testing available LLMs or selecting the most suitable tool; instead, it targets information professionals, specialists, librarians, and scientists, aiming to inspire them in various ways. Within this paper, we explore both well-known and less recognized use cases of generative AI tools, which may prove relevant not only for the target group of information specialists but also for other users. Our analysis demonstrates that apart from merely summarizing or expanding existing textual content, these AI tools hold the potential for performing non-standard yet sophisticated tasks with electronic information resources. They can facilitate interactive engagement with these resources, aid in the extraction and composition of descriptive metadata, indexing, and even possible classification. Nevertheless, it is essential to acknowledge the numerous limitations of current LLMs, which we acknowledge in this study.

On the legal response to the consequences of personal behavior in virtual space

The article deals with a new phenomenon for the legal science the legal response to the consequences of human behavior in the virtual space.The subject of the research is the relations arising in the process of such response.The aim of the study is to analyze the legal response to the consequences of personal behavior in virtual space, including in the Russian Federation.The methodological basis of the study are logical and systematic methods of scientific knowledge, as well as methods of analysis and synthesis of legal phenomenaForeign and domestic experience of legal response to the consequences of human behavior in virtual space is studied.The peculiarities of legal response from the point of view of consequences for the person for malicious actions in virtual space, connected with leaving a digital footprint, are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to such characteristic of virtual space as the possibility of using its properties to implement the interest of the user, as well as consideration of virtual space through the prism of legal construction and digital sovereignty. It is stated that the legal construction, characterizing the essence of legal response to the consequences of behavior of an individual in the virtual space, should have the following meaning – "if there are harmful actions associated with the use of virtual space, it is necessary to provide a form of legal response, neutralizing such actions, otherwise the network functioning and use of electronic information resources will be accompanied by socially dangerous manifestations". At the same time the legal response to the relevant relations is considered through the prism of law enforcement results – conclusions are made about the peculiarities of such a response. Attention is focused on the peculiarities of legal response to the consequences of actions of an individual in virtual space in Russia and in China. It is noted that at the national level there is currently no universal model of legal response mechanism to the consequences of a person's actions in virtual space. It is concluded that this problem has a multidimensional nature, which is largely determined by the level of legal awareness of network users. Particular attention is paid to the need to use the potential of techniques and methods of special legal, social and psychological mechanism of law, which are considered to be an important factor in the development of law enforcement practice. The research shows that unlawful behavior in the virtual environment is closely related to various types of deviant behavior related to the use of Internet, which from the category of violating non-legal social norms (primarily, morality and ethics) turns into unlawful behavior, as it violates the requirements of law. Attention is drawn to the fact that at the national level there is currently no universal model of legal response to the consequences of human behavior in virtual space – each state goes its own way, the legal impact is often exposed to those relations which are recognized as the most important and relevant at the moment. Such a response, as a rule, is situational, often pursuing several goals (political, economic, ideological). Further study of the problem involves the need to develop a system of theoretical ideas about the forms of legal responsibility for the negative consequences of behavior in such a space.

Librarians’ Indices And Utilization Of Electronic Information Resources In Bowen University Iwo

This study determined the Librarians’ Indices on Utilization of Electronic Information Resources in Bowen University Iwo. Three research questions and three null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The study covered librarians’ (academic librarians) of Bowen University Iwo. Ex-post facto research design was used for the study. The population of the study was 7 academic librarians’. Census sampling technique was used for the study; and a sample size of 7 academic librarians was used. The instrument titled “Librarians’ Indices and Utilization of Electronic Information Resources Questionnaire (LIUEIRQ)” was developed by the researcher and validated by three librarians. Cronbach Alpha reliability method was used to compute the reliability of the research instrument which yielded a co-efficient of .72. The data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for research question 1- 3, and t-test was used to test null hypotheses 1- 3. All the null hypotheses were tested at .05 level of significance. The findings indicated that librarians’ indices influenced the level of utilization of electronic information resources in Bowen Universities Iwo. The study concluded that Librarians’ Indices are significant determinants for the influence in the utilization of electronic information resources in Bowen University Iwo. Librarians’ indices and utilization of electronic information resources in Bowen University Iwo is very crucial for acquiring current, timely, relevant and up-to-date electronic information resources for academic activities. Based on the findings, the study recommended among others, that the librarians’ indices should not be barrier on their utilization of electronic information resources. Every librarian should be able and interested in making use of electronic information resources no matter of their status

Significance of Librarians’ Work Experience and ICT Skills on Effective Utilization of Information Resources

This study determined the Significance of Librarians' Work Experience and ICT Skills in the Effective Utilization of Information Resources at Federal University Otuoke. Two objectives, research questions, and null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The study covered academics. An ex-post facto research design was used for the study. The population of the study was ten academic librarians. A census sampling technique was used for the study and a sample size of 10 academic librarians was used. The data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for research questions 1-2 and a t-test was used to test null hypotheses 1-2. All the null hypotheses were tested at 05 levels of significance. The findings indicated that librarians' characteristics influenced the utilization of electronic information resources. The study concluded that Librarians' work experience and ICT skills are determinants for the influence of effective Utilization of information resources. Librarians' work experience and ICT skills in utilizing information resources are crucial for acquiring current, timely, relevant, and up-to-date electronic information resources for academic activities. Based on the findings, the study recommended that the librarians' work experience and ICT skills be open to Utilizing information resources. Every librarian should be able and interested in using information resources regardless of their status.

Conceptualisation of Open Educational Resources, Audiovisual Resources and Electronic Information Resources: A Literature-based Study of Selected Academic Libraries in Ebonyi State Nigeria

Teaching, learning and research at every level of the education system cannot be successful without appropriate resources. Adequate, quality resources are not readily available, especially in resource-constrained countries like Nigeria. These resources come in various formats (physically and/or electronically). Audiovisual resources (AVRs), electronic information resources (EIRs) and open educational resources (OERs) are examples of teaching and learning materials that could be procured by educational institutions and accessed by students and other members of the academic community. The instrument for data collection was a literature review directed to the librarians of the selected university libraries. The educational resources—in terms of availability and usage—were presented in tables comparatively. Findings show that each of the three university libraries has certain types of AVR, EIR and OER, which are available for students’ use. Strategies for the effective use of these educational resources in Nigeria’s academic libraries were discussed. It is recommended that adequate learning facilities, other than books, be provided by the government or private individual owners of the academic libraries in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. There is also a need for academic librarians and users to keep themselves abreast of the skills necessary for the appropriate use of educational resources (subscription or free-based) in the institutions where they are available.

Comparative Investigation on Usage of E-resourses in Degree Colleges of Fatehabad, Haryana

This study endeavours to explore key aspects related to the use of electronic information resources, examining their influence on the utilization of both print and electronic sources, user awareness, and the preferred locations for accessing these resources. Conducted at different colleges of Fatehabad district of Haryana, the survey involved 100 participants who responded through a questionnaire. The results highlight a discernible pattern of users actively engaging with electronic resources, with increased awareness playing a significant role in encouraging their extensive use. Users predominantly choose departmental facilities and home environments for accessing information. Notably, the study reveals a tangible impact of electronic resources, evident in the decline of printed document usage and a simultaneous increase in the consumption of electronic materials. This underscores a notable shift towards the greater utilization of e-resources, marking a transition from traditional printed materials to electronic formats.

Comprehensive assessment of drivers and barriers to electronic information resources usage in academic libraries in uganda using SWOT analysis

The high costs of printed Textbooks have negatively affected the education and library services in many developing countries, forcing institutions and universities to utilise electronic information resources (EIRs) to offer library information services and resources to library users. Many universities in northern Uganda adopted EIRs without evaluating them. This study, therefore, seeks to assess the drivers and barriers to EIR usage in academic libraries in Uganda by analysing their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT). The study employed a descriptive design to collect quantitative data and a stratified random sampling technique to select the sample size. A structured questionnaire was designed using Google Forms and administered online to the Muni and Lira universities’ teaching staff and final-year students, where 103 were filled by teaching staff and 248 by final-year students. The data collected were analysed using the SPSS Version 28 and RStudio software. Statistical techniques like descriptive analysis were used in the data analysis. The results for the mean ≥ 3.41 were considered statistically significant. The study findings show that most respondents agreed that librarians expose them to all the library EIRs and that it was essential to access EIRs to benefit from its services. The study also identified knowledge and skills, the relevance of EIRs, availability of technological infrastructure and resources, awareness and adaptation, perceived ease of use and access, previous experience, institutional policies, and perceived quality content as the critical drivers for the usage of EIRs in academic libraries. The results of the SWOT analysis identified internal factors (i.e., strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (i.e., opportunities and threats) affecting EIR usage in Ugandan academic libraries. The survey recommends that for the successful adoption and implementation of EIRs in Ugandan libraries, there should be a reliable power supply and internet connectivity for easy access to the EIRs, purchase of more computing devices for accessing the EIRs, training and supporting the users of EIRs in universities; proper accountability and use of donor funds meant for payments of EIRs; and so on. These findings generated ideas that the universities, libraries, and library consortia can use in decision-making regarding choices of EIRs selection and the procurement of EIRs to realise value for money.

Representativeness of foreign lesya studies content in the electronic information space

Introduction. Modern scientific understanding and interpretation of Lesya Ukrainka's works, and their popularization using journalistic broadcasting, is a powerful resource that forms the intellectual, moral, and aesthetic framework of national culture. Relevance of the study. Social media and electronic information resources provide access to diaspora documents and help to reconsider the role and significance of Lesya Ukrainka's creative heritage in the history of Ukrainian culture and formation of a civil society. The purpose of the study is to identify the representation of foreign Lesya studies content in the electronic information space. Methodology. The research methodology consists of analysis, synthesis, grouping, synchronous section, statistical, and logical generalizations, which made it possible to establish the representativeness and topics of publications about Lesya Ukrainka in the electronic information space. To form the analytical base of the research and statistical generalizations, online bibliographic resources, YouTube resources and Internet publications were used. Results. By the documentary and factual base of the electronic information space regarding the achievements of diaspora Lesya studies for 1940-2020, a set of publications belonging to different types was identified: works of poets, scientific works, memoirs, journalistic reports. The localization of centers of publishing activity in Lesya studies abroad was established. Scientific, public, and educational centers that contributed to the publication of Lesya Ukrainka's works and works about her in the context of preserving and popularizing the national memory of the Ukrainian community in the diaspora was identified. Conclusions. The globality of the electronic information space contributes to the breaking down of territorial barriers, the development of the national scientific and cultural information space, and expands the boundaries of awareness of the unity of the Ukrainian national space. The popularization of Lesya Ukrainka's creative heritage in social media contributes to the preservation of national identity based on the examples of highly intellectual literature, culture, science, and the formation of a pro-European, humanistic society.

Elucidating the Adoption of Electronic Information Resources: A Case Study of Kuwait University Library

Abstract Kuwait University Library has invested in electronic information resources (EIR) to facilitate users’ access to library materials. However, this has been insufficiently investigated to identify the factors that influence the use of EIR. Therefore, this study aims to explore the factors influencing the use of EIR by faculty members at Kuwait University, as the study further aims to enhance library services. Specifically, the study uses a modified technology acceptance model (TAM) to investigate whether the perceived ease-of-use, the perceived usefulness, and prior experience of using EIR affect their adoption. The EIR adoption, consequently, impacts the faculty’s academic performance. A mixed-method approach was adopted using the questionnaire and interview tools sequentially to collect primary data from faculty members at the College of Social Science, Kuwait University. Out of 116 questionnaires sent to participants, 48 were returned, yielding a 41 % response rate, which was supplemented with ten semi-structured interviews. The quantitative results, which were supported by the qualitative findings, indicate that the perceived ease-of-use, the perceived usefulness, and prior experience significantly influenced the adoption of EIR, and that adoption significantly impacted the academic performance. Moreover, the qualitative findings revealed the challenges that EIR users encountered. Recommendations and future research are also discussed.

The Effect of Computer Self-Efficacy and Utilisation of Electronic Information Resources by Students of a Nigerian University

The study examined the effect of computer selfefficacy, college affiliation, year of study and barriers to utilisation of electronic information resources (EIRs) by students of Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa, Edo State, Nigeria. The study undertook quantitative research. Stratified simple random technique was used to select sample size of 200 respondents from 374 undergraduate students of Samuel Adegboyega University, across the three Colleges in the University. Structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Data were analysed using inferential statistics. The study indicated students had high-level of computer self-efficacy in relation to the utilisation of EIRs and high level of utilisation of EIR. The study showed computer self-efficacy, College and Year of study positively influenced students’ utilisation of EIRs. Erratic power supply and poor internet connectivity were the barriers to effective utilisation of EIR by students.

SWOT-Analysis of Distant Library and Information Services of Libraries of Higher Education Institutions in Ukraine

The purpose of the article is to conduct a SWOT-analysis of distant services and electronic information resources of libraries of higher education institutions in Ukraine. The research methodology is based on the methods of analysis, synthesis, comprehensiveness of knowledge, generalisation, abstraction, SWOT-analysis. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the SWOT-analysis method was applied to domestic libraries that provide library and information services under quarantine restrictions and martial law. Conclusions. A SWOT-analysis of distant services and information resources of libraries of higher education institutions in Ukraine was conducted. The strengths of the scientific libraries of higher education institutions in Ukraine were found to be the provision of remote services: electronic delivery of documents, virtual reference service, determination of UDC indices and electronic information resources: electronic catalogue, electronic archive of scientific works of university staff (institutional repository), full-text databases and resources available on open platforms. Weaknesses include the lack of the following remote services: online chat; creation and maintenance of a researcher's profile in the ORCID, Google Academy, Scopus Author ID, Researcher ID, ResearchGate services; informing users about new arrivals; editing bibliographies and electronic information services on library websites: book trailers, longreads, podcasts, virtual tours and excursions, audiobooks, virtual exhibitions, digests, new arrivals, virtual reviews, thematic lists. Opportunities include the creation of promising forms of remote services and electronic information resources: creation of digital libraries, introduction of sector-specific recommendation systems, development of a mobile version of the library website and mobile applications of electronic library services, development of specialised applications of electronic library services, development of a system of personal accounts, deployment of blogger and streaming activities, use of new platforms for instant messaging: Telegram, Viber, and social network TikTok. Threats to libraries today include the lack of electricity, overloading of library servers, socio-political instability, and cyber threats. Prerequisites and Methodological Principles of Digital Library Creation in the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine

The purpose of the article is to substantiate the relevance, prerequisites and methodological foundations for creating an electronic library of scientific and technical information in the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine (SSTL). The research methodology is based on a combination of general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis and forecasting, as well as on the use of systemic, informational, structural and functional, comparative, and terminological approaches. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the further development of views on the creation and functioning of an electronic scientific and technical library in the context of the implementation of the principles of open science and open access to scientific and informational resources. Conclusions. The development and implementation of the project on the creation of an electronic scientific and technical information library in the SSTL of Ukraine will contribute to solving a number of important issues, in particular: optimization and expansion of remote access of domestic and foreign users to the documents of the library collection, implementation of virtual reconstruction of scattered collections and funds; informational support for scientific, educational, and production projects; providing access to unique materials – rare books, archival documents, including their special types – patent, regulatory and technical, unpublished; preservation of originals that are at risk of disappearance or damage. Information Seeking Behavior of Postgraduate Students of Agriculture of Bundelkhand University Jhansi

Agriculture field is very vast, traditional farming methods as well as new ICT based agriculture both equally important in present context. Information and communication technology has become essential part of 21st century’s lifestyle. ICT has made drastic change in the field of agriculture also, the faculty and students of agriculture field need to know about new developments, innovations and transformations form traditional agriculture to modern agriculture. For this purpose they need new information, skills and competencies to expand their knowledge. The study aimed to comprehend how agriculture students used information sources, why they visited the university library, how frequently they did so, and what kind of help they had received in utilising the library, how they used e-resources, and what kinds of issues they encountered there. What resources they used other than library resources. This study defines a survey based on an analysis of the information-seeking behaviour of postgraduate agriculture students at Bundelkhand University, Jhansi. The survey method was used in the study, with a self-created questionnaire. The study examines the students' information requirement, information seeking behaviour, information seeking style, level of satisfaction, and challenges experienced when seeking information, i.e., the attitudes that students adopt when seeking information. The study also describes the library services that are available. According to the research, 69% of respondents used the library to access electronic information resources, and most of students visited the library for academic purpose.

An Assessment of Electronic Information Searching Trend of Medical Postgraduate Trainees at Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo

The present electronic era is significant for all types of libraries with regard to their electronic information services. The Library of Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM), University of Colombo provides enormous services to the medical professionals in Sri Lanka. Annually a considerable amount of money is allocated to PGIM to purchase electronic health information resources. Anyhow it was observed that most often many postgraduate medical trainees who are engaged in medical postgraduate training have expressed their dissatisfaction over the inaccessibility of electronic information resources of the library of PGIM, University of Colombo. Therefore, this study assesses the information searching trend of medical postgraduate trainees in an electronic environment. Total number of 815 medical postgraduate trainees, from 32 medical specialties was selected as the study population. Sample was proportionately selected among these specialties. Using Lwanga and Lemeshow (1991) method 427 trainees were selected as study sample and the response rate was 89% (380). Collected data was analyzed using SPSS ver. 23. According to the findings, the electronic environment has created a positive hope in the information seeking trend and training sessions to enhance information literacy was highly appreciated by the trainees as a means of improving the digital information literacy skill, and to downsize their ability to access the appropriate resources and to save their time. Further, the topmost information need was for exam preparation. HINARI and PUBMED were the widely used electronic resources by the majority of trainees. Most of the trainees did not attend the orientations or workshops conducted by PGIM and a major reason for not participating was that time has not been allocated for orientations. Study concluded that availability of electronic information resources was directly affecting the information searching trend of trainees following postgraduate medical education. This study recommends that the library of the PGIM should provide more digital resources, proper training on digital information literacy skills and efficient Internet services in the library.

A Cross-Association Analysis of Scientific Designations (Grades) With the ‘Extent of Use of Electronic Information Resources’ And the ‘Purpose of Use of the Internet’ Amongst The Indian Aerospace Scientists and Engineers of Bangalore

Aerospace is seen as a key technology today owing to its growth in Asia in general and India in particular. Indian aerospace scientists and engineers currently working on strategically important projects depend heavily on rapid collection of information from various electronic information resources. Seeking information through e-resources is an upcoming and an endearing activity. The coming of the Internet has totally transformed the way scientific communication has spread among the scientists and engineers in general across the world and more specifically amongst the aerospace scientists and engineers. Aerospace scientists and engineers greatly depend upon the network and Internet technologies for accessing electronic information resources (most importantly electronic journals) related to aerospace engineering right at their desktops. The Indian aerospace scientists and engineers representing the various aerospace organizations in Bangalore belong to different scientific designations or cadres or grades. These designations represent their scientific hierarchy within the organization. As part of an ongoing research, a questionnaire based survey was undertaken to study the association of scientific designations with the ‘Extent of Use of electronic information resources’ and ‘Purpose of the Use of the Internet’. The study has been restricted to the geographic boundary of the city of Bangalore and the selected 16 aerospace Indian organizations. The present analysis is purely based on the 583 responses that were found suitable for the study out of the 625 questionnaires distributed. The responses from the participants towards the ‘extent of use of electronic information resources’ and the ‘Purpose of Use of the Internet’ versus the‘ association of scientific designations’ were graded on a scale of 0 to 4 with 4 representing ‘Most Frequently’. The major findings that the authors would like to report in this paper are: (a) The χ2 test indicates that the different grades (designations) of the aerospace scientists and engineers (Chi-Square = 156.599, P = 0.0438) by the ‘Use of Electronic Information Resources’ have significant association, and ‘Purpose of Use of the Internet’ (Chi-Square = 124.452, P = 0.5722) have no significant association.This implies that percentages of preference for these different grades (designations) of aerospace scientists and engineers by the ‘Extent of Use of Electronic Information Resources’ are not approximately the same and the ‘Purpose of Use of the Internet’ are approximately the same. (b) Hence, the authors infer that the ‘Extent of Use of Electronic Information Resources’ show a dissimilar pattern of use, and the ‘Purpose of Use of the Internet’ show a similar pattern of use amongst the aerospace scientists and engineers with regard to the different designations/grades of the selected 16 aerospace organizations.

The Memorial Electronic Information Resource Dedicated to the Baikal Researcher M. M. Kozhov

Scientific libraries are intermediaries between science and society; they concentrate scientific and popular scientific information for a wide range of users. The information block: science – library – society works. Libraries solve the issues of book preservation, documentary, archival heritage of scientists through various forms of preservation and popularization of the achievements of regional science: work with the rare collection of scientific publications (study of marks, book plates, autographs, etc. on books), publication of articles about scientists, creation of bibliographic and biographic databases (DB) and other electronic information publications of own generation.Communicative interaction between libraries, science and society is constantly expanding, including various new components of the popularization of science among young people than attract young people to science and cause interest in the profession of a scientist. The article describes the work of the Central Scientific Library of the Irkutsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of RAS in this direction on the example of the organization of electronic memorial library of Baikal scientist, Professor Mikhail Mikhailovich Kozhov.
