The authors present collision strengths and electron impact rate coefficients for some transitions in N III calculated using the R-matrix method. Collision strengths are presented in the LS coupling scheme. Some of the collision strength spectra show extensive autoionization features across thresholds. Maxwellian averaged collision rates were calculated at a range of temperatures for each prominent transition in the N III spectra. These are calculated to be used for planetary nebulae and solar/late-type stellar studies in related work.
