This work documents the design of a battery thermal management system for an electric vehicle in which a liquid cooling system was designed for a 24V Li-ion battery pack. Then, a thermal simulation was performed by using one-dimensional heat transfer modelling using Solidworks. This model also consists of the design of a heater, pump and evaporator to determine the total energy consumption of BTMS. The results indicate that the battery temperature is maintained between 20-30 °???? for various driving profiles with a maximum energy consumption of 0.3%.This work documents the design of a battery thermal management system for an electric vehicle in which a liquid cooling system was designed for a 24V Li-ion battery pack.
