Hybrid Algorithm Selection and Hyperparameter Tuning on Distribute Machine Learning Resources: Hierarchical Agent-based Approach

Algorithm selection and hyperparameter tuning are critical steps in both academic and applied machine learning (ML). These steps are becoming increasingly delicate due to the extensive rise in the number, diversity, and distributed nature of ML resources. Multi-agent systems, when applied to the design of ML platforms, bring about several distinctive characteristics, such as scalability, flexibility, and robustness, just to name a few. This article proposes a fully automatic and collaborative agent-based mechanism for selecting distributed ML algorithms and simultaneously tuning their hyperparameters. Our method builds upon an existing agent-based hierarchical ML platform and augments its query structure to support the aforementioned functionalities without being limited to specific learning, selection, and tuning mechanisms. We have conducted theoretical assessments, formal verification, and analytical study to demonstrate the correctness, resource utilization, and computational efficiency of our technique. According to the results, our solution is algorithmically correct and exhibits linear time and space complexity in relation to the size of available resources. To further verify its correctness and demonstrate its effectiveness and flexibility across a range of algorithmic options and datasets, the article also presents a series of empirical results on a system composed of 24 algorithms and 9 datasets. The findings not only highlight the efficiency and scalability of the proposed approach, but also show its flexibility and openness to responding to the dynamic and distributed ML ecosystem.

The design of intelligent highway transportation system in smart city based on the internet of things.

The design of intelligent expressway transportation system based on the Internet of Things is studied to improve the safety, travel experience, and operation management of expressway. The characteristics of the Internet of Things and cloud computing technology and its application on the expressway are analyzed, and the system design requirements of expressway intelligent transportation are understood. Besides, the overall architecture of the system is studied and designed. The IaaS layer, PaaS layer, and SaaS layer of the cloud platform are designed and deployed. The intelligent information system can make expressway highly informative. The simulation experiments reveal that the system only needs 120 milliseconds in accident processing time, which is far lower than the intelligent transportation system that only uses edge computing technology (201 milliseconds) and the intelligent transportation system that only uses cloud computing technology (443 milliseconds). Meanwhile, the accident response time is only 12s, which is also superior to other models. In terms of cost-effectiveness, the monthly cost of the system is 7004 yuan, with a CPU utilization rate of 53%, demonstrating good cost-effectiveness and resource utilization efficiency. In addition, compared with the existing system, the average traffic congestion time has been reduced by 25%, the traffic accident rate has been reduced by 18%, and the accident rate has been reduced by 27%. The intelligent traffic system design of expressway, expressway safety, travel service, and operation management is effectively improved by researching the intelligent traffic system design of expressway.

Products Distribution and Reaction Kinetics from Co-Pyrolysis of Pinewood and Polypropylene under Non-Catalytic and Catalytic Reaction Conditions

Abstract Co-pyrolysis technology offers vital pathways for efficient utilization of plastics and biomass resources to help reduce the environmental problems and energy resources issues. The pyrolysis characteristics of pinewood and polypropylene (PP) mixtures were analyzed using TGA. The results showed a decrease in first peak of the mixture with increase in PP in the mixture, while the second peak increased with an increase in PP in the mixture. The addition of a catalyst decreased the DTG peak heights. The reduction in the first peak with different catalysts was in the order: CaO/ZSM-5 >CaO >ZSM-5, while for the second peak showed: CaO >CaO/ZSM-5 >ZSM-5. The activation energy, calculated by Flynn–Wall–Ozawa (FWO), Kissinger–Akahira–Sunose (KAS), and Friedman models, revealed that ZSM-5 reduced the activation energy, whereas CaO/ZSM-5 increased the activation energy, as compared to no catalyst case. Increase of co-pyrolysis temperature reduced the yield of aldehydes, ketones, acids and esters, but increased the yield of hydrocarbons. The addition of CaO reduced the yield of ketones, phenols, esters, and acids, while it increased the yield of alcohols. The addition of ZSM-5 also decreased the yield of ketones, phenols, acids and hydrocarbons, but increased the yield of furans and alcohols. The addition of CaO/ZSM-5 specifically reduced the yield of aldehydes and alcohols. The results show the important role of the specific catalysts examined on the resulting products distribution for the same reaction condition.

Self-sacrificing and self-supporting biomass carbon anode–assisted water electrolysis for low-cost hydrogen production

Electrooxidation of renewable and CO2-neutral biomass for low-cost hydrogen production is a promising and green technology. Various biomass platform molecules (BPMs) oxidation assisted hydrogen production technologies have obtained noticeable progress. However, BPMs anodic oxidation is highly dependent on electrocatalysts, and the oxidation mechanism is ambiguous. Meanwhile, the complexity and insolubility of natural biomass severely constrain the efficient utilization of biomass resources. Here, we develop a self-sacrificing and self-supporting carbon anode (SSCA) using waste corncobs. The combined results from multiple characterizations reveal that the structure-property-activity relationship of SSCA in carbon oxidation reaction (COR). Theoretical calculations demonstrate that carbon atoms with a high spin density play a pivotal role in reducing the adsorption energy of the reactive oxygen intermediate (*OH) during the transition from OH- to *OH, thereby promoting COR. Additionally, the HER||COR system allows driving a current density of 400 [Formula: see text] at 1.24 V at 80 °C, with a hydrogen production electric consumption of 2.96 kWh Nm-3 (H2). The strategy provides a ground-breaking perspective on the large-scale utilization of biomass and low-energy water electrolysis for hydrogen production.

Abstract 4115816: Enhancing Cardiogenic Shock Management: Insights from MCS utilization and Patient Outcomes

Cardiogenic shock (CS) remains a challenge with high mortality rates despite advances in treatment modalities. This study investigates the utilization and impact of mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices, including intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella, and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) on patient outcomes in CS management. A retrospective analysis was performed using National Inpatient Sample data (2017 to 2019). Inclusion criteria included patients aged ≥18 years with primary diagnosis of CS using ICD10(R570). Multivariate regression analysis was used to assess MCS duration, mortality, length of stay (LOS), and costs. Among 462,685 included patients, 38% were female, with a mean age of 66 years. Majority were White (67%), followed by Black (16.5%), and Hispanic (9%). IABP was utilized in 13% of cases, Impella in 6%, and ECMO in 0.9%. No significant difference was observed in MCS placement between weekdays vs weekends. However, weekend admissions showed higher mortality rates with an odd ratio (OR) of 1.06(p <0.00, CI 1.03-1.09), particularly among females OR 1.25(p<0.00, CI 1.22 – 1.289). Urban non-teaching hospitals exhibited highest mortality rate, followed by Urban teaching. ECMO was associated with highest mortality OR 2.08(p < 0.00, CI 1.93-2.82), followed by Impella OR of 1.47 (p < 0.00, CI 1.37 – 1.59), and IABP OR 0.723 (p < 0.00, 0.685-0.765). LOS was lowest in Impella group, followed by IABP, while ECMO showed non-significant LOS increase. Mean total charge varied among MCS groups with ECMO being highest. The findings highlight several important aspects of CS management. Elevated mortality rates during weekend admissions suggest potential disparities in care access or delivery, necessitating investigation and interventions to ensure consistent quality of care throughout the week. Increased mortality among females, variations across different hospital settings, impact of MCS devices on LOS and costs emphasize the need for tailored approaches to enhance patient outcomes and resource utilization efficiency.

Sustainable intensification of livestock systems using forage legumes in the Anthropocene

AbstractSustainable intensification of livestock systems implies greater efficiency in resource utilization resulting in greater output of products and other ecosystem services per unit of resource input. Integrating forage legumes into livestock systems is a viable way to reduce the input of industrial N fertilizer, reducing the use of fossil fuels and helping to mitigate global warming, a major problem during the Anthropocene. Some forage legumes have greater concentrations of secondary compounds, such as condensed tannins, that might reduce the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) from ruminant eructation and excreta. Furthermore, forage legumes might enhance cattle performance because of greater nutritive value, resulting in greater production per unit of GHG released. Shortening the production cycle and improving cattle reproductive efficiency could have a major impact on reducing the overall carbon footprint of the system. Grazing systems with more diversified plant species are typically more resistant and resilient, adapting to current climate changes during the Anthropocene. Novel technologies might accelerate the development of future grazing systems using forage legumes as a key component. Breeding efforts for the next‐generation legumes must focus on adaptation and potential use for mitigation of negative environmental impacts. There are examples of successful integration of forage legumes into livestock systems in different regions of the world, with a major reduction in off‐farm inputs and maintaining the system productive. These successful examples could be used to increase adoption and improve the efficiency of current livestock systems.

Numerical study on a new adjustable multi-hole throttling device for natural gas flooding

Natural gas flooding represents a significant technique for the enhancement of oil recovery, thereby facilitating the efficient utilization of oil and gas resources. In the injection and production system, the throttling gas nozzle is a key component that adjust the injection pressure according to the reservoir’s pressure. However, current throttling gas nozzles utilize a fixed structure, which presents a challenge in achieving online control of flow rate and pressure drop. Therefore, a new adjustable multi-hole throttling device was proposed in this paper, allowing for the regulation of pressure loss by changing the number of flowing holes. In order to gain insight into the operational principles and pressure drop characteristics of this new throttling device, the SST k-ω turbulence model and the NIST physical property model were employed to simulate the supercritical natural gas flow in the nozzle. The results demonstrate that there is an uneven distribution of velocity between the channels of the downhole multi-hole throttling device. The velocity in a single nozzle channel exhibits a trend of initially increasing rapidly and then decreasing, while the pressure exhibits an initial decrease, which is then followed by a slight increase. The pressure drops of the nozzle under different flow rates and flowing hole numbers were acquired, revealing that the pressure drop of the multi-hole throttling device is inversely proportional to the number of holes. The adjustment accuracy of pressure drop and flow rate is higher when the number of holes is between 4 and 6. However, a significant increase in pressure drop occurs when the number of holes is less than 3, resulting in poorer regulation accuracy. Furthermore, a pressure drop prediction model was developed based on the numerical results, which provides guidance for the application and design of the throttling device. In this study, a new natural gas flooding throttling device is proposed, offering a new approach for downhole equipment development. Additionally, this research provides guidance for the practical application and iterative improvement of this throttling device in future use.

Screening, Gene Cloning and Expression of Cellulase-Producing Strain Bacillus subtilis Xh-16.

Cellulase is a complex enzyme system composed of multiple hydrolytic enzymes. It can degrade cellulose into glucose and improve the utilization efficiency of cellulose resources. Cellulase produced by microorganisms is the main method used in industry, offering the advantages of convenience and being environmentally friendly. A strain Xh-16 with high cellulase production was screened from the rotten rice straw. It was identified as Bacillus subtilis by morphological identification, physiological and biochemical identification, and 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. Strain Xh-16 was used to degrade rice straw. After a 48h cellulase treatment, the complete degradation and structural breakdown of the straw were observed. We cloned the endoglucanase Cel5L gene of Bacillus subtilis Xh-16 and induced expression of the cloned gene in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3). The results showed that the coding length of Cel5L gene was 1500bp, and the molecular weight of the encoded protein was about 55kDa. The molecular formula is C2456H3811N671O761S10 and it has 7709 atoms and 499 amino acids. Cel5L differs significantly from some the glycoside hydrolase family 5 cellulases because it has only one carbohydrate binding module family 3 at the C-terminus of its catalytic domain. The cellulase gene Cel5L in Xh-16 can encode active cellulase and can be heterologously expressed in Escherichia coli, which makes Escherichia coli have cellulase function. This study serves as a foundation for further research on cellulase diversity in Bacillus subtilis and offers insights for enhancing cellulase production.

Empowering primary care physicians in child and adolescent psychiatry: a needs assessment on collaborative care in Dubai

BackgroundChild and adolescent psychiatric disorders pose significant public health concerns necessitating prompt intervention. Primary care physicians (PCPs) play a critical role as initial points of contact, facilitating early detection, management, and referral of these conditions. In Dubai, integrating mental health services into primary care faces unique challenges, highlighting the need for systemic reforms and enhanced PCP training.ObjectiveThis study investigated perceptions, barriers, and systemic challenges encountered by PCPs in managing child and adolescent psychiatric conditions in Dubai’s primary care setting. It also assessed family physicians’ involvement and preparedness in this domain.MethodsUsing a mixed-methods approach, we conducted a survey among family physicians in Dubai Health facilities and analyzed patient data from family medicine clinics. The survey evaluated formal training, preparedness, encounter frequency, and referral patterns for psychiatric care in young patients. Qualitative insights from open-ended survey questions provided additional understanding of specific challenges.ResultsFindings revealed significant gaps in formal training, with only 33.3% of respondents trained in child and adolescent psychiatry during medical education, and 21.1% participating in Continuing Medical Education (CME). A majority (54.4%) of PCPs felt unprepared to manage psychiatric care in young patients. Patient data analysis showed a predominance of male patients (59.9%) and identified Autism Spectrum Disorder (43.1%) as the most common condition, emphasizing the reliance on specialized care through a high referral rate (63.1%). Major barriers included time constraints, limited psychiatric knowledge, resistance to mental health services, systemic and structural issues, communication challenges, and resource shortages.ConclusionEnhanced training and systemic reforms are urgently needed to integrate mental health services effectively into Dubai’s primary care. Implementing structured collaborative care models, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and addressing systemic barriers are crucial for improving child and adolescent psychiatric condition management. These initiatives promise better patient outcomes and more efficient healthcare resource utilization.

Fe/Co-modified Enteromorpha bio-hydrochar enhanced anaerobic digestion of chicken manure with sulfadimethazine: focusing on synergistic mechanism and microbial community succession

Abstract Residual antibiotics in chicken manure may interfere with the stability of anaerobic digestion (AD) and inhibit resource utilization efficiency. In this study, we aimed to enhance chicken manure bio-methanation in AD with high-concentration of sulfamethazine (SMZ) by adding metal (Fe, Co)-modified Enteromorpha-based hydrochar (Co-HC, Fe-HC). The results showed that Fe-HC and Co-HC increased the degree of acidogenesis by 1.25 times and 1.58 times, respectively. The maximum protein concentration in EPS was increased by 47.64% and 72.5% after adding Fe-HC and Co-HC. However, only Co-HC demonstrated notable improvements in both methane production and SMZ removal efficiency. Electrochemical analysis showed that Co-HC possessed a richer variety of oxygen and nitrogen functional groups, along with superior electron exchange capabilities compared to Fe-HC. Furthermore, microbiological assessments revealed that Co-HC enriched syntrophic bacteria (such as Syntrophomonas and Mesotoga), facilitating direct interspecies electron transfer (DIET) and subsequently enhancing biomethane production. The abundance of genes involved in electron transfer increased significantly with Co-HC, with a maximum increase of 75.86% in Co1.5-HC treatment. Additionally, the elimination of antibiotic resistance genes (sul1, sul2) increased by 65.66% in the Co1.5-HC treatment. This study offers a theoretical foundation and empirical support for the synergistic improvement of livestock and poultry manure containing high antibiotic concentrations, thereby helping to overcome challenges posed by recalcitrant substances. The Effect of the Construction of a Tillage Layer on the Infiltration of Snowmelt Water into Freeze–Thaw Soil in Cold Regions

The snow melting and runoff process in the black soil area of Northeast China has led to soil quality degradation in farmland, posing a threat to sustainable agricultural development. To investigate the regulatory effect of tillage layer construction on the infiltration characteristics of snowmelt water, a typical black soil in Northeast China was selected as the research object. Based on field experiments, four protective tillage treatments (CK: control treatment; SB: sub-soiling treatment; BC: biochar regulation treatment; SB + BC: sub-soiling tillage and biochar composite treatment) were set up, and the evolution of soil physical structure, soil thawing rate, snow melting infiltration characteristics, and the feedback effect of frozen layer evolution on snowmelt infiltration were analyzed. The research results indicate that sub-soiling and the application of biochar effectively regulate soil aggregate particle size and increase soil total porosity. Among them, at the 0–10 cm soil layer, the soil mean weight diameter (MWD) values under SB, BC, and SB + BC treatment conditions increased by 6.25%, 16.67%, and 19.35%, respectively, compared to the CK treatment. Sub-soiling increases the frequency of energy exchange between the soil and the environment, while biochar enhances soil heat storage performance and accelerates the melting rate of frozen soil layers. Therefore, under the SB + BC treatment conditions, the maximum soil freezing rate increased by 21.92%, 5.67%, and 25.12% compared to the CK, SB, and BC treatments, respectively. In addition, sub-soiling and biochar treatment effectively improved the penetration performance of snowmelt water into frozen soil layers, significantly enhancing the soil’s ability to store snowmelt water. Overall, it can be concluded that biochar regulation has a good improvement effect on the infiltration capacity of surface soil snowmelt water. Sub-soiling can enhance the overall snowmelt water holding capacity, and the synergistic effect of biochar and deep tillage is the best. These research results have important guiding significance for the rational construction of a protective tillage system model and the improvement of the utilization efficiency of snowmelt water resources in black soil areas.

Improvement of Transplanting Rice Yield and Nitrogen Use Efficiency by Increasing Planting Density in Northeast China Under the Optimal Nitrogen Split-Fertilizer Applications

There are few studies on how nitrogen (N) fertilizer application rates and transplanting densities impact rice yield, root distribution, and N use efficiency in the cold regions of Northeast China. This research involved a two-year field trial utilizing Jinongda 667 as the material. In 2021, three N split-fertilizer applications—T1 (6:3:1), T2 (5:3:2), T3 (4:3:3)—and two transplanting densities—D1 (30 cm × 13.3 cm) and D2 (30 cm × 20 cm)—were compared with the conventional cultivation mode (T0: 175 kg N hm−2, 6:3:1), whereby the N application mode most suitable for increasing density was explored. In 2022, four N application levels—0 (N0), 125 (N1), 150 (N2), and 175 (N3) kg N hm−2—were assessed under the same density treatment to analyze the yield, resource utilization efficiency, and root traits of Jinongda 667. The results indicated that when the transplanting density was 30 cm × 13.3 cm, the application of 5:3:2 fertilizer was more conducive to improving rice yield. Increasing planting density under reduced N input significantly enhanced both rice yield and N use efficiency. In contrast to the conventional cultivation method (D2N3), the treatment of increased planting density (D1N2) under reduced N input led to a 21.2% rise in the number of panicles per square meter and an 8.6% boost in rice yield. Furthermore, increasing planting density under reduced N input significantly enhanced the agronomic efficiency of N fertilizer, the apparent utilization rate, and the N harvest index. It also boosted the SPAD value, photosynthetic rate, and the utilization efficiency of light and N resources in rice. However, it was noted that root enzyme activity decreased. This study demonstrated that increasing planting density, combined with the N application mode of 5:3:2 and an N application rate of 150 kg hm−2, maximized resource utilization efficiency, optimized root absorption capacity, and resulted in higher yields.

Evaluation of the Suitability of Horticultural Crops under Prevailing Environmental Conditions - A Case Study of Punjab

Alternate land use options such as horticultural crops help in ensuring efficient land resource utilization. Thus, it is essential to evaluate the agri-environmental conditions for economically viable and sustainable horticultural production. A study was carried out for land use planning of Rajpura block in Patiala district of Punjab. Under this study, soil-site suitability of horticultural crops were evaluated by considering key soil parameters such as texture, depth, slope, EC, pH, organic carbon content, erosion, drainage, and climate factors viz., rainfall and temperature, etc. The soils of the block were interpreted to assess their suitability for various horticultural crops viz., mango, grapes, banana, sapota, guava, pomegranate and citrus fruits. The mango cultivation was found suitable for almost 50% area and moderately suitable for 34% area. Soil-site suitability characteristics evaluation for grape cultivation revealed that around 34% area of the block is suitable while 50% area is moderately suitable. The banana and sapota crop cultivation was found to be highly suitable for approximately 45% area, whereas moderately suitable for 40% area. In context of guava and pomegranate, nearly 34% area was covered under suitable class and 50% area was covered under moderately suitable class, respectively. The citrus crops are highly suitable for this block which covers the maximum area of the block about 61% and moderately suitable for almost 23% area, respectively. The small fraction of the block, only 1.68% (476 ha) exhibits marginal suitability for the cultivation all fruit crops. The horticultural crop suitability maps were generated by using remote sensing and GIS tools. Hence, it can be concluded, the Rajpura block has vast dimensions for the horticultural farming which will lead to land resource management, sustainable land use planning and livelihood security of farmers of the block. This study will also help policy makers and stake holders for the horticultural developmental planning of this block.

Set pair analysis and system dynamics coupling approach for structure simulation and variation trend evaluation of water resources spatial equilibrium system

AbstractThe implement of water resources spatial equilibrium (WRSE) schemes is fundamental task of integrated water resources management in China, in which, the evaluation and simulation analysis of WRSE system is of great concern for understanding the overall variation and feedback characteristics of WRSE system. Therefore, we utilized the ordered degree, entropy and connection number coupling model to evaluate the variation of WRSE system, and also employed system dynamics (SD) and scenario simulation integrated method to reveal the feedback characteristics between different equilibrium variables and subsystems, and thus the set pair analysis‐SD based approach for structure simulation and variation trend evaluation of WRSE system was constructed. The application results in Anhui province, China demonstrated that, the overall variation of provincial spatial equilibrium situation of WRSE system presented obvious improving trend, 2009–2019, the index of ordered degree and connection number entropy in Hefei, increased from the minimum of 0.6434 (Grade 3, unequilibrium) to maximum of 0.9985 (Grade 1, equilibrium). Moreover, the future variation of WRSE system will display stable improving trend during 2020 to 2029, in which, annual water resources availability and water resources utilization efficiency will have significant influence on WRSE system. And the research findings can be favorable to formulate water resources development and utilization strategies.

His perspective on matrixed organizations “is shaped by my experiences moving from a front‐line worker to specialized individual contributor to middle manager and eventually to a senior leader within the system.” Challenges to these types of organizations include, in his words, blind spots, unclear accountability, potential for conflict and political maneuvering, and inefficiencies due to role confusion. The Impact of Digital Technology on Learning and Teaching: A Case Study of Schools in Durrës, Albania

The incorporation of digital technology in education has become more widespread, offering the potential to transform conventional teaching methods and improve student learning experiences. This study investigates the influence of digital technology on the process of learning and teaching in Albanian schools. This study used a mixed-methods approach to examine the benefits, difficulties, and overall efficacy of digital tools in educational environments. This paper provides a comprehensive literature analysis to examine the global trends and issues related to digital technology in education, with a specific focus on developing nations. It emphasizes the distinct socio-economic and infrastructural difficulties encountered by Albania, a developing country endeavoring to improve its educational system. Survey responses from a diverse selection of 10 educational institutions in Durrës, Albania provided numerical data. Quantitative data collection involved conducting questionnaires with students of different ages, which allowed for a comprehensive understanding of their experiences and perspectives. The results demonstrate that the use of digital technology greatly improves student engagement and academic achievement. Schools that integrated digital technology into their curriculum achieved higher exam scores than schools that did not. Nevertheless, the research also highlights notable obstacles such as limited infrastructure, unstable internet access, and inadequate teacher preparation that impede the efficient utilization of digital resources. It is necessary for teachers a significant inclination for additional training and assistance, while students demonstrated a preference for digital learning tools over conventional techniques, citing heightened enthusiasm and involvement. This study provides policy proposals to effectively solve the highlighted difficulties and improve the incorporation of digital technology in Albanian schools. These include increased financial resources for improving infrastructure, comprehensive programs for educating teachers, and the establishment of a supportive framework to maintain digital integration endeavors. In summary, this study offers a comprehensive analysis of the impact of digital technology on educational achievements in Albania, making a significant contribution to the wider discussion on digital education in developing nations. The results emphasize the revolutionary capacity of digital tools in education while emphasizing the critical necessity of resolving structural obstacles in order to fully achieve this promise. Spatial Coordination Analysis and Development Methods of the Catering Sector in Yongkang City

The catering sector is recognized as a crucial driver for stimulating domestic consumption and fostering sustained economic growth. A scientifically informed spatial planning of the catering sector in county-level cities can help mitigate the overconcentration or excessive dispersal of resources, thereby enhancing the efficiency of land and commercial resource utilization, reducing waste, and promoting sustainable development within a county’s economy. This study focuses on Yongkang City, located in central Zhejiang Province, as a case study. Using Python 3.1 software to extract point-of-interest (POI) data, spatial analysis techniques such as standard deviation ellipses and kernel density estimation are employed to elucidate the spatial distribution characteristics of the catering sector, comprehensive transportation, and public services in Yongkang City. Furthermore, a coupling coordination degree model is utilized to quantify the coupling coordination degrees between the catering sector and comprehensive transportation (D1), as well as between the catering sector and public services (D2), ultimately assessing the overall coupling coordination degree among the three sectors (D3). Based on the analysis results, the coupling coordination degrees are categorized into five levels, followed by a detailed evaluation of the catering sector’s development across different subdistricts. The findings indicate a certain degree of spatial imbalance in the distribution of the catering sector in Yongkang City, with the western region exhibiting a more favorable development trajectory. Notably, Dongcheng Subdistrict achieved the highest coupling coordination degree (0.993), while the northern region, hindered by underdeveloped economic conditions and limited transportation infrastructure, exhibited the lowest coordination degree (0.098). Considering the unique developmental characteristics and current conditions of each subdistrict, this study advocates for the formulation of a long-term sustainable development plan for the catering sector in Yongkang City. The findings of this research may offer valuable insights for other regions and countries, thereby promoting the sustainable advancement of the catering sector.

Research Progress on the Activity Stimulation of Lithium Slag in Concrete

Lithium slag (LS), an industrial waste byproduct generated during lithium salt production, is characterized by its harmful trace elements, significant stockpiles and low pozzolanic activity. By 2003, the annual discharge of lithium slag in China surpassed 15 million tons, creating an urgent need for established large-scale disposal technologies. One of the primary strategies for the effective utilization of LS is its application as an auxiliary cementitious material in concrete. However, the low reactivity of LS and challenges associated with its large-scale application impede its effective utilization. Enhancing the pozzolanic activity of LS is pivotal for its substantial incorporation into concrete. This study begins by analyzing the physicochemical properties and volcanic ash reactivity of LS derived from various lithium extraction techniques. It subsequently explores the diverse activation techniques aimed at improving the reactivity of LS within concrete. Ultimately, this paper highlights the significance of synergistic activation strategies, particularly physicochemical co-excitation and multi-exciter composite excitation. These approaches are identified as critical pathways for enhancing the activity of LS. Through this exploration, this study aims to unveil innovative strategies that bolster the resource utilization efficiency of LS, thereby facilitating its effective application in the concrete domain.

Research on Whether Quality Policies Can Promote the High-Quality Development of China’s Manufacturing Industry and Its Configuration Paths in the Context of Sustainable Development

High-quality development enhances economic quality and resource allocation efficiency through various effective and sustainable means, with particularly notable results in the manufacturing sector. Quality policies, through establishing standards, norms, and incentive measures, aim to foster technological innovation, efficient resource utilization, and quality improvement in manufacturing, thereby supporting its high-quality development. This study explores the impact of quality policies on high-quality development in manufacturing and their configurational pathways, providing theoretical foundations and practical guidance for optimizing policy combinations and promoting sustainable development. This analysis is based on quality policies released from 2013 to 2022 and sample data from 30 Chinese provinces. The findings reveal that quality policies significantly promote high-quality development in manufacturing, particularly through incentive, capacity building, and system changing instruments, while command instruments may exert certain pressures on high-quality development. Configuration analysis further indicates that a single instrument is insufficient to support high-quality development in manufacturing fully; the synergistic effect of multiple policy instruments is essential, and regions should optimize policy combinations according to their characteristics. This study provides valuable insights for sustainable development, offering a deeper understanding of the complex causal relationship between quality policies and high-quality development in manufacturing.
