Effects of job burnout on life quality and happiness of junior nurses

Objective To explore the effects of job burnout on life quality and happiness of junior nurses. Methods 126 nurses from 3 -grade general hospital who working in the wards less than 5 years were set as research group, and 118 female doing hiealth examination were set as control group. MBI, GQOLI and GWBS were used. Results MBI showed the scores of emotional failure and inhumanity were higher in research group than those in control group. Score of job achievement was significant lower in research group. GQOLI showed total score, the scores of body function, psychological function and social function in research group were significant lower than those in control group. There was no difference in substance living. The score of GWBS in control group was higher than that in research group. Correlation analysis showed negative correlation between job burnout, emotional failure, inhumanity and living quality, body function, psychological functional, social function. But there was positive correlation between job achievement and the others. Conclusions There are serious job burnout and lower living quality, happiness in junior nurses. The effect of job burnout on health complaint and task performance: the moderation of perceived organizational support

Objective To explored the moderate effect of perceived organizational support on job burnout-health complaint relationship and job burnout-task performance relationship. Methods Maslach burnout inventory-general survey, the perceived organizational support scale, health complaint scale and task performance scale were used to test 458 teachers in colleges of Armed Police. Results Emotional exhaustion and cynicism were positively related to health complaint (r = 0. 616,0. 4377;P < 0. 01). Emotional exhaustion and cynicism indicated obviously predicted effect on health complaint(β =0.562, P<0. 01;β =0. 144, P<0.05). Reduced personal accomplishment predicted task performance obviously(β = -0.248, P<0.01). Hierarchical multiple regression showed perceived organizational support can regulate the relationship between emotional exhaustion and task per-formance(△R~2 =0.031, P<0.01). Conclusion Job burnout positively predicted health Complaint. The higher the job burnout was, the more seriously the health Complaint. Reduced personal accomplishment negatively predicted task performance. Perceived organizational support had moderate effect on emotional exhaustion and task performance relationship. Impact of job burnout, age and marital status on job involvement among banking employees in Eritrea

The present study was aimed to explore the effect of job burnout, age and marital status on job involvement among banking personnel. The sample consists of 100 employees working in banks of Eritrea, Asmara, North East Africa, selected randomly. Job involvement scale developed by Lodhal and Kejner (1965) and Maslach and Jackson (1981) job burnout inventory were administered to collect the data .The data analyzed by using Means, Standard Deviations and ‘t’ test. The results revealed that (i) low job burnout employees showed greater degree of job involvement than high job burnout employees (ii) younger group of employees showed significantly higher level of job involvement than older employees and, (iii) married employees found significantly more job involved than unmarried counterparts.

The Relationship Between Burnout and Support for Punishment and Treatment: A Preliminary Examination

According to the existing literature, support for punishment and support for treatment of inmates are the two major orientations held by correctional workers. There is a small but growing body of studies that has examined the predictors of these orientations. The literature suggests that personal characteristics account for little of the variance in correctional orientations whereas individual-level perceptions of work environment factors are related to correctional orientations; however, the effects of job burnout have not been explored. This study investigates the relationship between burnout and the two correctional orientations. Burnout has three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and ineffectiveness. This study finds that depersonalization is positively related to support for punishment and negatively related to support for treatment. Ineffectiveness leads to a lower support for treatment whereas emotional exhaustion leads to a higher support for treatment.
