This research is intended to identify the effects of nitrogen fertilizer on fresh production., dry material production (DM ), organic mater production ( OM ) crude pretein (CP) fodder mayze (zea mays). This research was carried out in the field lab of animal science departemen, Faculty of health and science, University Nusamara PGRI Kediri. research design in this study use a complete random design 4 treatment with 5 replicated. Treatment use concentration nitrogen fertilizer (T0 = 0 ml / l) ,( T1 =0.8 ml / l ), (T2 =1.6 ml / l ), (T3 =2.4 ml / l ). Studies show that different levels of nitrogen fertilizer can affacted to DM production (p < 0.01 ), OM production (p < 0.01 ) and CP production (p < 0.01) maize fodder (zea mays ).The conclusion of this study is that the use of different doses of nitrogen fertilizer has an effect on the production aspect of maize fodder (Zea mays )

Combined applications and Multi-Faceted evaluations of humic acid, seaweed, and vermicompost with chemical and organo-mineral fertilizers on corn, part I: chlorophyll concentration

This study investigated the effects of various fertilizers on the leaf chlorophyll content of the Simpatico (FAO300) silage corn variety under field conditions. Different application combinations were tested, including treatments with and without foliar fertilizers. The foliar fertilizers used were seaweed (SW), humic acid (HA), and vermicompost (VC), combined with granular fertilizers DAP, UREA, OMB, and OMT. Granular fertilizers were applied to the soil, while foliar fertilizers were applied at four different stages: the 4-6 leaf period, 11-13 leaf period, 14-16 leaf period, and at corn tassel. Chlorophyll content in plant leaves was measured using a SPAD-502 device during these periods. The highest SPAD chlorophyll ratios were recorded with OMB-OMT (42.583) and DAP-OMT (42.150) treatments, which did not include foliar fertilizers. Conversely, the lowest SPAD chlorophyll ratio, 28.983, was observed in the DAP-UREA treatment. Treatments with foliar fertilizers resulted in an increase in SPAD chlorophyll by 11.3% to 15.7%, with the greatest improvements observed with vermicompost and humic acid, compared to treatments without foliar fertilizers. Additionally, analysis of periodic effects showed that the highest SPAD chlorophyll ratios were found during the third and second measurement periods, while the lowest ratios were observed in the first measurement period. The use of organo-mineral fertilizers and foliar applications of vermicompost and humic acid were found to enhance the leaf chlorophyll content of corn.

Study on the Effect of Foliar Fertilizers on the Growth and Yield of V108 Heat-Tolerant Cucumber Variety

This study evaluates the efficacy of various foliar fertilizers on the growth and yield of the heat-tolerant cucumber variety TV108. The experimental design included six different foliar fertilizers and a control, with applications made weekly at a concentration of 1 mL per liter of water. Results showed that all foliar treatments significantly enhanced plant height compared to the control. Among these, Treatment T4 (ATONIK foliar fertilizer) demonstrated the most pronounced effect, achieving a main stem height of 216.57 cm by the 70th day, which was significantly higher than other treatments and the control. Treatment T4 also excelled in increasing stem diameter, with a final measurement of 1.48 cm, and in promoting both male and female flower formation. The fruit set rate was highest in Treatment T4, reaching 28.67% on day 56 and maintaining at 8.67% by day 70. This treatment also proved most effective in reducing the incidence of key diseases and pests, including powdery mildew, white mold, green worms, and yellow beetles. Regarding yield, Treatment T4 produced the highest individual fruit yield (2.32 kg/plant), actual yield (33.8 tons/ha), and theoretical yield (84.91 tons/ha). Additionally, it enhanced fruit quality, as indicated by the largest fruit length (15.22 cm), diameter (4.13 cm), and the highest Brix value (3.50%). These results substantiate that Treatment T4 is the most effective foliar fertilizer for enhancing both growth and quality of heat-tolerant cucumbers under experimental conditions.

Effects of classical and organomineral fertilizer applications on pollen quality and quantity in gemlik olive cultivar

Olive is one of the important plants worldwide in terms of economic and cultural conditions. It is used in fresh consumption, olive oil, cosmetic and pharmaceutic fields and unique numinous plants. Olive can maintain its life for many years even in barren conditions but for an economic cultivation, fertile and preferred cultivars should be used in orchards and optimum maintenance conditions should be provided. At the same time the climate change is also convert the usual behavior of the plants. This study aims to determine the effects of classic and organomineral fertilizers on pollen quality and quantity parameters. In this study, classical fertilizers like Urea+MgSO4 and KNO3+H3BO3+ZnSO4 with Raykat Start, Raykat Growth and Fitomare organomineral fertilizers were sprayed foliarly before flowering on Gemlik olive cultivar and pollen studies were conducted on the flowers formed at full flowering. Within the study, effects of the treatments were evaluated on pollen viability and germination levels, the amount of pollen produced in one flower and the normally developed pollen ratio. As a result of this study, fertilization treatments positively affected pollen quality and quantity with regard to control treatment. In this context, the pollen viability level differed between 74.15% and 89.92%, the pollen germination level between 45.48% and 70.35% and pollen per flower was between 307.238 and 446.761. The lowest data were obtained from control treatments, while the highest were from Raykat group fertilizers. Especially, the 54% increase in pollen germination level with Raykat growth fertilization was one of the most important results of this study. In conclusion, it was determined that the foliar spray of organomineral fertilizers enhanced the pollen properties. Raykat Start, Raykat Growth and Fitomare organomineral fertilizers used in this study significantly increased pollen quality and quantity.

Integrated effect of bio-slurry with chemical fertilizers on the performance of mustard varieties

To assess the importance of bio-slurry in combination with chemical fertilizers on the yield of mustard, a field experiment was conducted at the Agronomy Field Laboratory, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. Four varieties of mustard (BARI sarisha-14, BARI sarisha-11, BARI sarisha-13, Tori-7) along with four fertilizers treatments i.e. control, recommended dose of inorganic fertilizer, bio-slurry @ 5 t ha-1 + inorganic fertilizer, farmers’ practice (average of 15 farmers) was included in this study. The experiment was set up employing randomized complete block design with three replications. The result revealed significant varietal effects on all the yield and yield contributing characteristics. BARI sarisha-13 exhibited the highest seed yield (2.37 t ha-1), which can be attributed to increased branches plant-1, siliqua plant-1 and seeds siliqua-1. Fertilizer treatments significantly affected different yield parameters and yield. Among them, bio-slurry @ 5 t ha-1 + inorganic fertilizer produced the highest seed yield (1.83 t ha-1), while the control yielded the lowest (1.63 t ha-1). The integrated effect of varieties and fertilizers showed promising results. BARI sarisha-13 with bio-slurry @ 5 t ha-1 + inorganic fertilizer produced the highest seed yield (2.56 t ha-1). Therefore, it could be concluded that BARI sarisha-13 with bio-slurry @ 5 t ha-1 + inorganic fertilizer has the potential for maximizing mustard yield. Res. Agric. Livest. Fish. Validation of In-House Imaging System via Code Verification on Petunia Images Collected at Increasing Fertilizer Rates and pHs.

In a production environment, delayed stress recognition can impact yield. Imaging can rapidly and effectively quantify stress symptoms using indexes such as normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI). Commercial systems are effective but cannot be easily customized for specific applications, particularly post-processing. We developed a low-cost customizable imaging system and validated the code to analyze images. Our objective was to verify the image analysis code and custom system could successfully quantify the changes in plant canopy reflectance. 'Supercascade Red', 'Wave© Purple', and 'Carpet Blue' Petunias (Petunia × hybridia) were transplanted individually and subjected to increasing fertilizer treatments and increasing substrate pH in a greenhouse. Treatments for the first trial were the addition of a controlled release fertilizer at six different rates (0, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, and 8 g/pot), and for the second trial, fertilizer solution with four pHs (4, 5.5, 7, and 8.5), with eight replications with one plant each. Plants were imaged twice a week using a commercial imaging system for fertilizer and thrice a week with the custom system for pH. The collected images were analyzed using an in-house program that calculated the indices for each pixel of the plant area. All cultivars showed a significant effect of fertilizer on the projected canopy size and dry weight of the above-substrate biomass and the fertilizer rate treatments (p < 0.01). Plant tissue nitrogen concentration as a function of the applied fertilizer rate showed a significant positive response for all three cultivars (p < 0.001). We verified that the image analysis code successfully quantified the changes in plant canopy reflectance as induced by increasing fertilizer application rate. There was no relationship between the pH and NDVI values for the cultivars tested (p > 0.05). Manganese and phosphorus had no significance with chlorophyll fluorescence for 'Carpet Blue' and 'Wave© Purple' (p > 0.05), though 'Supercascade Red' was found to have significance (p < 0.01). pH did not affect plant canopy size. Chlorophyll fluorescence pixel intensity against the projected canopy size had no significance except in 'Wave© Purple' (p = 0.005). NDVI as a function of the projected canopy size had no statistical significance. We verified the ability of the imaging system with integrated analysis to quantify nutrient deficiency-induced variability in plant canopies by increasing pH levels.

The Effects of Organic Fertilizers and NPK on Growth and Yields of Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata. L) in Kano Plains Kisumu, Kenya

Excessive use of inorganic mineral fertilizers as an agronomic practice has resulted in the depletion of soil organic matter of soils of many regions thereby rendering such soils infertile and unable to maintain sustainable production. The use of organic amendments provides the immediate strategy for compensating for soil carbon depletion thereby reducing land degradation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of six organic amendments on the growth and yield of Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L) as compared to the conventional use of inorganic fertilizer NPK. The organic amendments were Boom Max, Ecoplanting, Evergrow, Dung slurry, Filter mud, and Market waste slurry applied to the soil at 8.33 t/ha against NPK (9:15:20) at 250 kg/ha. The experiment was laid in a RCBD. Data on growth and yields was collected on 10 tagged plants per plot. The results showed differences among treatments. Mature composts (Boom Max, Ecoplanting, and Evergow) resulted in a significantly (p&lt; 0.05) higher germination percentage (53.49% on average) compared to that of Filter mud (41.50%) and the slurries (34.18% on average) while all the composts resulted in 25% higher number of branches on the average in season two as compared to the bio-slurries. In season three, Boom Max gave the highest germination percentage (41.02%) which was significantly higher than those of Evergrow (29.80 %), Filter mud and Dung slurry (27.18% on average) and NPK and Market waste slurry (5.64% on average) but not different from that of Ecoplanting. Five of the amendments had significantly better germination rates than NPK by an average of 20%. There were no significance differences (P≤0.05) in growth parameters between the mature composts and the NPK fertilizer, suggesting that the mature composts were equally efficient in nutrient supply to the crop as did the NPK fertilizer for plant growth. The application of organic amendments produced significant improvements in fresh leaf yields of the cowpea crop, with the highest yield recorded from the Boom Max applied plot (5781 kg on average), which was not different from others in seasons one and three but significantly different from that of NPK in season three. It can be concluded that depending on choice or type of amendment, organic manures are capable of producing similar or better results of crop growth and yields as the inorganic fertilizers.

The influence of cow manure on quantitative and qualitative traits of hot pepper (Capsicum annuum L.)

ABSTRACT The effects of organic fertilizer “cow manure” applications on quantitative and qualitative traits of hot pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) evaluated under field conditions. Treatments consisted of four levels of cow manure (0, 5, 10, and 15 t ha−1) for both the 2017 and 2018 growing seasons. The results indicated that cow manure applied at 15 t ha−1 resulted in the highest number of fruits per plant, antioxidant activities, and carbohydrate contents. At the same time, the lowest values were recorded in the control treatment in 2017 and 2018 (respectively). In both years, the highest plant height, number of lateral branches, number of nodes, fruit yield per plant, fruit fresh weight, and total flavonoids were obtained in 10 t ha−1 of cow manure treatment. The lycopene contents were 47 and 60% higher in 5 t ha−1 of cow dung fertilizer than control treatments in both seasons. The minimum β –Carotene was recorded in control, and the maximum was observed in 5 t ha−1 of cow manure fertilizer in both years. The results confirm that cow manure positively affects hot peppers’ vegetative and reproductive traits and antioxidant activity under field conditions.

Evaluation of the Informative Value of the Results of Soil Observations in a Stationary Experiment

The effective and potential fertility of leached chernozem was evaluated in a field stationary experiment at the Central Experimental Field of the Kurgan Research Institute and the application of 2 crop cultivation technologies. In the first part of the experiment, the corn–wheat–wheat–oat crop rotation was studied during annual plowing, in the second – permanent wheat after a stubble background. The first technology was characterized by higher effective fertility, a large number of plant residues, due to which its advantage was manifested in terms of humus content. The positive effect of fertilizers on the indicators of potential soil fertility was manifested when applying the 2nd and 3rd doses of nitrogen against the background of the use of phosphorus.

Effect of Nitrogen-15, Phosphorus-15, and Potassium-15 Fertilizer on Indigenous Microorganisms Involved in Biodegradation of Crude Oil Contaminated Soil Collected from Shawguwolo Jeddo Metropolis, Okpe L.G.A, Delta State, Nigeria

The increasing occurrence of oil pollution presents a significant environmental challenge, necessitating effective remediation strategies. Hence, the objective of this paper was to evaluate the effect of Nitrogen-15, Phosphorus-15, and Potassium-15 fertilizer on indigenous microorganisms involved in biodegradation of crude oil contaminated soil collected from Shawguwolo Jeddo Metropolis, Okpe L. G. A, Delta State, Nigeria using appropriate standard methods. It was observed that the hydrocarbon reduced from 5315.80 to 2276.57 within four weeks. The highest rate was observed in sample C, which showed a 95.7% reduction in the hydrocarbon contamination. Sample C also showed a 34% increase in the hydrocarbon utilizing bacteria present in the soil. Bioremediation leverages microbial activity to degrade pollutants, offering a cost-effective approach compared to other technologies, as it speeds up the process of degrading hydrocarbon by increasing the growth rate of hydrocarbon utilizing bacteria.

Combined Application of Biochar and Silicon Fertilizer for Improved Soil Properties and Maize Growth

Biochar can be a good soil amendment to reduce the soil pH, increase crop growth rate, and improve the efficient use of fertilizer. Other than that, silicon fertilizer also would promote photosynthetic ability on plant development that would help to produce high yield. In this work, a series of experiments was conducted to observe the effect of rice husk biochar and silicon fertilizer on the maize growth rate and soil pH. A 45-day pot experiment in the greenhouse with three replicates of 9 experimental treatment combinations of RHB at two rates (5 and 2.5 t.ha-1) with silicon fertilizer at three rates (125%, 100%, 75%), sole biochar (10 t.ha-1), sole silicon fertilizer (100%) and control (NPK) to observe the best rate and combination to improve growth rate and change in soil chemical in acid soil. The result showed that the co-application of sole biochar and biochar with Silicon significantly improved growth development, increased photosynthesis rate, altered soil pH, and reduced Fe concentration compared to control. The plant height increased 88.35% from T4 (5 t.ha-1 RHB + 100% Si) compared to the control and the conductance was higher in T4 (0.53) followed by T8 (0.438) while T1 (0.071) recorded the lowest conductance. The shoot fresh weight was higher in T4 (127.83 g) followed by T8 (57.14 g). However, the weight increased by 343.7% at T4 followed by T8 (2.5 t.ha-1 RHB + 75% Si) at 98.33%. The highest pH increment of 1.24 units (T1 = 5.53, T4 = 6.77) of soil pH was noted from T4 (5 t.ha-1 RHB + 100% Si) compared to control (NPK), and the highest total Fe in soil was observed from T1 (442.30 mg.kg-1). The current study results showed that T4 (50% RHB + 100% Silicon) was the best treatment over the other rates of RHB and silicon increased plant height, photosynthetic rate, and biomass.

Response of Nutrient Levels of Oil Palm Leaves (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) to Polyhalite and KCl Fertilizers Application in Dystrudepts Soil

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) is a significant plantation crop extensively cultivated in Indonesia, particularly in the Riau region, where it is often grown on marginal lands, such as typical dystrudepts. Low soil pH and limited water-holding capacity necessitating effective fertilization management strategies characterize typic Dystrudepts. One approach to address these challenges is the application of slow-release fertilizers. Polyhalite, a mineral fertilizer, contains slow-release nutrients including potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and sulfur (S). Given that oil palm plants have a high demand for potassium to support their growth and productivity, providing substantial quantities of readily available potassium fertilizers, such as potassium chloride (KCl) is essential. The synergistic application of polyhalite and KCl is anticipated to enhance plant nutrient absorption, thereby improving leaf nutrient levels. This study aims to evaluate the effects of Polyhalite fertilizer, both alone and in combination with KCl fertilizer, on the leaf nutrient levels of oil palm plants. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed, consisting of five treatment factors: Control (NPK), Polyhalite at 25% combined with KCl at 75%, Polyhalite at 50% combined with KCl at 50%, Polyhalite at 75% combined with KCl at 25%, and Polyhalite at 100%. Each treatment was replicated three times, resulting in 60 plants across four plants per treatment. The data collected from the research will be analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by the 5% Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT). The findings indicate that the application of Polyhalite at 75% in combination with KCl at 25% significantly increased the levels of potassium, calcium, and magnesium in the leaves of the oil palm plants
