Impact of Automation Technology on Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Logistics and supply chain management not only includes activities related to the physical movements of the goods/ items but also management of relationship with suppliers and customers. However Logistic means fulfil the needs of customers are satisfaction through interface and coordination of the supply chain. The main objective of the paper is to determine the automation technology used in logistics and supply chain management including new technology like automation with automatic identification of materials and items. The paper also discusses the impact of the automation technology and challenge to implementing automation technology on logistics and supply chain management. The author mainly focuses on the both primary and secondary data for collecting data relating to various advance technology like automation used in logistics and supply chain management. The author draws conclusion that technology play important role to increased supply chain competitiveness and performance by effectiveness of logistics system.

Складові логістики морських портів України: оновлення організаційно-правового забезпечення

The article is devoted to the research of factors, which have a significant impact on the increase of competitiveness and achievement of efficiency of logistic systems, which is part of the sea ports of Ukraine. From the competitiveness of the domestic transport system in the world market depends on the efficiency of the functioning of the ports, the level of their technological and technical equipment, the compliance of the management system and the development of the infrastructure with modern international requirements. Fleet and ports are an active part of a large and very dynamic competitive environment. The effectiveness of logistics systems with its own seaport structure is directly dependent on economic stability and the development of coastal states, in the context of their well-functioning work, development and trade flows became more brisk. It is noted that there is a network of powerful seaports in Ukraine, where in general the logistical function is set at a rather high level, but there are a number of factors that still restrain the development of domestic ports and have a negative impact on their logistical attractiveness: the depreciation of the main capacities of Ukrainian ports, significant rates of harbor dues and overtime markups, low transshipment effectiveness, and the absence of hub ports, the need to introduce with single window processing technologies, significant updating of the program document of the industry: the Strategy and the Maritime Doctrine of Ukraine. The author notes that these and some other aspects of improving the organizational and legal mechanism of the work of the port industry in Ukraine are now on the agenda at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Administration of the Seaports of Ukraine and are most affected by the upgrade process. The results of such update should be expected in the near future, and we hope that they will finally introduce the Ukrainian port industry to the most powerful and competitive areas in the Black Sea region.

EVALUASI PEMILIHAN PENYEDIA JASA KURIR BERDASARKAN METODE ANALYTICAL HIERARCHY PROCESS (AHP)

<p>Aktivitas logistik memegang peranan penting dalam proses bisnis dimana terdapat proses <br />distribusi untuk menyalurkan produk dari produsen/penjual kepada konsumen. Saat ini<br />bermunculan semakin banyak perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang penyediaan pelayanan jasa <br />logistik, dengan berbagai kelebihan dan kekurangannya. Kondisi ini membuat pengguna jasa lebih <br />leluasa dalam menentukan pilihan, perusahaan kurir mana yang dipercaya untuk mengambil alih <br />sebagian fungsi bisnisnya.Untuk membantu pengambilan keputusan dalam pemilihan penyedia <br />jasa kurir, penulis melakukan penelitian mengenai kriteria yang digunakan pengguna jasa dalam <br />menentukan penyedia jasa terbaik. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode Analytical <br />Hierarchy Process (AHP), metode AHP dipilih karena metode ini dapat membuat sebuah kerangka <br />pengambilan keputusan dengan efektif atas persoalan yang kompleks. Permasalahan yang terdiri <br />atas beberapa pertimbangan, kemudian disederhanakan ke dalam beberapa kriteria yang kemudian <br />disusunan dalam suatu hirarki.Setelah disusun dalam hierarki dapatditentukan criteria terpenting <br />yang menjadi pertimbangan utama pengguna jasa. Penelitian ini dibatasi pada perusahaan<br />penyedia jasa logistik yang bergerak pada jasa pengiriman ekspres (kurir). Reponden dibatasi pada <br />pengguna yang menggunakan jasa pengantaran barang (kurir) untuk keperluan penjualan online. <br />Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kriteria utama yang diprioritaskan sebagai <br />pertimbangan bagi pengguna jasa dalam pemilihan penyedia jasa logistik. Berdasarkan survey <br />yang dilakukan terhadap para penjual online, diketahui bahwa kriteria yang menjadi pertimbangan <br />utama dalam pemilihan jasa kurir adalah Reliability, yaitu keandalan suatu perusahaan jasa kurir<br />dalam melayani kebutuhan dan keinginan pelanggannya diikuti dengan cost (biaya pengiriman) <br />dan Convinience (kenyamanan).</p>
