The Louveira Digital City is a municipal information network designed to promote digital appications development, offering e-government services in areas such as health, education, social assistance, safety, and public works. The project began as an academic initiative focused on Louveira's Information Highway, which was presented to the City Council in August 2010. It outlines the key components of the information highway, including the optical backbone architecture, feasibility study, radio link specifications, logical network design, equipment specifications, and project budget. This digital infrastructure enables all residents to access various communication services and applications, such as data, video, and voice traffic. The network is comprised of radio and fiber optic links, designed to benefit various areas of public administration, including health, safety, education, and planning. Additionally, it aims to enhance public access to information, culture, education, and leisure, laying the groundwork for a smart city. This project showcases the implementation of the information highway in Louveira, highlighting how academic institutions can contribute to the economic, social, and technological development of society and serving as a model for similar initiatives.
