The Influence Of Facilities And Infrastructure Management On The Effectiveness Of The Teaching And Learning Process At Superior High School Aceh Besar

Facilities and infrastructure are resources that are really needed in the school environment to support the smooth teaching and learning process. The role of the school principal is very important in managing facilities and infrastructure, including assistance from educational staff, facilities and infrastructure and cooperation with the school community in maintaining school facilities and infrastructure so that they remain strong and last a long time. Management of facilities and infrastructure greatly influences the teaching and learning process so that there are no obstacles such as damage and loss of facilities/equipment that have been provided. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of facilities and infrastructure management on the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process at SMAN Unggul Aceh Besar. This study uses a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses a qualitative and quantitative approach using the T and N-Gain tests. Based on research findings, there areThe significant influence of facilities and infrastructure management on the teaching and learning process as seen based on the T test shows very high significance (0.000) and the N-Gain test shows that the N-Gain value is 0.71 or around 71%. Therefore, management of infrastructure in the teaching and learning process is effective.

Smart Farming for Sustainable Agriculture: A Case Study through Korean Public TVET

This study aims to present implications for sustainable education and training of the agricultural workforce. It introduces the case of a smart farm learning factory as an educational facility at Korea Polytechnics. Learning factory refers to the practical experience gained using the knowledge acquired in engineering education to solve problems in the actual work field. For this study, we analyzed the smart farm case of Hongseong Campus of Korea Polytechnics, a government-funded vocational education institution in Korea. The research questions are as follows. First, what is the purpose of establishing a smart farm education and training facility? Secondly, what is the performance of the facility? Thirdly, what are the implications of the Korean smart farm for sustainable TEVT? As a result of analyzing the case, the purpose of establishing the facility was to improve the practical capabilities of convergence technologies used in machinery, automation, industrial facilities, and electrical departments. Additionally, the performance has been found to serve as the foundation for project-based learning subjects that incorporate convergence education, and companies have been able to reduce training costs and contribute to sales profits by using this facility to train employees. Finally, the implication of sustainable TVET through smart farm cases is that it has provided a way to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning guidance at agricultural sites, create educational resources that can utilize advanced agricultural technologies for sustainable development, and actively cooperate and collaborate with educational institutions, governments, and local companies.

The effect of temperature and humidity of air on the concentration of particulate matter - PM2.5 and PM10

Particulate matters accepted as air quality markers are also indicators of the health risk of the population, especially children, because of their increased susceptibility to the quality of the air they breathe. Understanding the correlations between the concentration of particulate matter in the outdoor air and meteorological conditions will help to take steps to reduce pollution and reduce the risk of threats to health and life. For many years, scientists from all over the world have been looking for relationship between the impact of meteorological conditions on the concentration of particulate matter. Despite this, it is still not known whether the relationships will be similar in all locations. Furthermore, there is no agreement among scientists on the direction and strength of the correlation between temperature, humidity, and particulate matter concentrations. The article presents an attempt to link the impact of meteorological conditions on particulate matter concentrations depending on the classification of the area into air quality index in the particulate matter (AQIPM) category. Three locations with a specific air quality index were included: extremely poor, moderate & fair and good. The research was carried out at nine locations near educational facilities. Four measurement series were carried out for each location. Spearman's correlation coefficient was used to assess the relationship with an assumed significance level of 0.05. A research hypothesis was adopted: The correlation between particulate matter and meteorological conditions is different in locations with different AQIPM. The results obtained clearly show that the relationships between meteorological conditions and the concentration of particulate matter depend on the classification of the area into a specific category of the air quality index. The strongest correlation occurs in the fair & moderate AQIPM area. In relation to temperature, there is a negative correlation, and in relation to humidity, positive. In the extremely poor AQIPM area, no relationship was observed between humidity and particulate matter concentration. In the good AQIPM area, the correlation in relation to temperature was very weak, in relation to humidity, weak.

Climate-induced coastal occupational vulnerability and livelihood insecurity: Insights from coastal Bangladesh

The livelihoods of the fishing communities residing in the geographically vulnerable coastal zone are constantly threatened by escalating coastal disasters. The communities face persistent challenges, including livelihood failure, poverty, high exposure and sensitivity, and lower adaptive capacity, yet little attention has been paid to comprehending their multifaceted livelihood vulnerabilities amid climate-induced disasters. This study bridges that gap by employing several techniques to address the challenge. It adopts a mixed-method analysis and investigates the Livelihood Assessment Index (LAI), Livelihood Vulnerability Index (LVI), and Climate Vulnerability Index (CVI) to assess the livelihood vulnerability of fishermen communities residing in the new and old fishery ghats (riverside locations where fishing-related activities take place) in Chattogram district in southern Bangladesh. Findings reveal that the fishing communities experience higher exposure levels and moderate vulnerability in the face of escalating climate-induced disasters. The overall LAI indicates a relatively low level of livelihood satisfaction, suggesting potential challenges or deficiencies in aspects contributing to well-being. Despite socioeconomic and demographic similarities, as LVI values present, the exposure varies between the two study locations. Both locations are characterized by moderate sensitivity, while the new fishery ghat showed slightly higher adaptive capacity, contributing to greater resilience. The CVI values indicated higher vulnerability for the new fishery ghat fishing community, suggesting increased challenges related to climate-induced threats, and the old ghat community exhibited lower vulnerability, showcasing better resilience to disasters. Factors influencing livelihood vulnerability include limited access to education and healthcare in the new fishery ghat, while the old fishery ghat benefits from better provisions, communication, social networks, and education facilities. The study advocates for context-specific decision-making and targeted interventions to support vulnerable fishing communities in coastal zones globally, emphasizing the need for improved social safety nets and alternative livelihood options. Addressing these occupational vulnerabilities is crucial for long-term development in climate-risk countries like Bangladesh.

Indoor air quality improvement using developed polymeric membrane filter

Abstract Carbon dioxide (CO2) levels must be controlled to protect the environment and human health. Previous studies focused on improving indoor air quality (IAQ) by reducing these negative impacts with electrical equipment such as mechanical ventilators and air purifiers; however, passive techniques were lacking. This work develops a prototype membrane filters to improve IAQ by capturing and separating indoor CO2 levels. These filters use polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) membranes and activated carbon (AC) as innovative and effective passive materials at four concentrations. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-Ray diffraction (XRD) were employed to characterize the materials. The effectiveness of CO2 absorption across the four filter types was then assessed through tests conducted in a controlled environment. Subsequently, site monitoring was undertaken to evaluate the most effective filter. The absorption rates of CO2 levels indoors of the developed filters are 17.5%, 8.1%, 4.5%, and 3.4%, respectively, for four filters. The most efficient filter increased absorption efficiency by 47.8% in an unoccupied space and 35.5% in an occupied one. This passive material can be applied in various indoor spaces, including office buildings, residential buildings, and educational facilities, due to its benefits in saving energy and enhancing indoor environmental quality.

Comparison of Spatial Perception Regarding the Re-functionalized Industrial Buildings: Abdullah Gül University Sümer Campus

Industrial buildings that conserve their authentic identities and provide cultural sustainability also appeal to the spatial perceptions of users through their old and new usage forms. It is thought that every generation will have different timeframes and experiencing forms in the spaces they are in, based on their own needs, and this is believed to reflect on their spatial perceptions. Accordingly, this study aims to reveal the effect of different generations’ characteristics on their perception of educational buildings converted from industrial buildings and to reflect users’ reactions to the relevant spaces. In this study, the evolving spatial perceptions regarding Abdullah Gül University Sümer Campus, which has been converted as an educational facility from Sümerbank Fabric Factory, were evaluated through the members of the Generation X and Z. This study which employed qualitative data collection and assessment methods was conducted as a particular case study. Furthermore, this study contained the holistic assessment of the physical, functional and psychological aspects of the re-functionalized campus considering the fact that these spaces whose functions were converted to be educational would include differences based on spatial perceptions. The results of this study indicated that Sümer Campus was considered by the Generation X as a location combining the old texture with the new, while the Generation Z assessed the campus as an esthetic formation where the old and new coexisted with contrasts.

AbstractObjectiveWe examine the economic consequences of choosing between higher education and correctional facilities for rural communities seeking economic development. Because rural areas have lagged behind urban areas in their pursuit of economic development, some areas rely on the employment boost from attracting prisons and other incarceration facilities, while others try to attract or expand facilities of higher learning.MethodsUsing Census and QCEW data, we employ a quasi‐experimental analysis to examine the relative merits of both approaches for economic development for rural California. Evaluating average wage per worker along with industrial diversity and employment measures, we compare rural California counties that have prisons to those that have higher education versus a control group without such public investments.ResultsOur results show that while correctional facilities can generate regional growth, the economic development offered by higher education appears to have more substantive long‐term benefits stemming from larger population growth, wealthier proprietorships, and a decline in a county's dependence upon government as a source of its income.ConclusionsWe conclude that universities help build regional coalitions and linkages that reenforce economic development for a rural community as well as providing a skilled labor force and cultural opportunities that a rural prison does not.

This study investigates the physical environment of lifelong education facilities crucial for the revitalization of lifelong education. By analyzing the spatial characteristics of these facilities, key issues related to their physical environment are identified. Focusing on Gongju City, regulations and previous research on lifelong and other educational facilities are examined. The distribution and total area of 75 lifelong education facilities in Gongju City as of 2021 are analyzed in relation to the demographic characteristics and population size. The analysis reveals that the number and total area of lifelong education facilities do not proportionally align with population size. Despite the high number of facilities, many do not meet the minimum space requirements, and several regions lack even a single facility per legal district. Two critical points are discussed based on these findings: first, improving accessibility to lifelong education facilities to ensure that residents can easily participate in lifelong education; second, establishing a minimum standard of area to provide a safe and conducive learning environment. The study emphasizes the need for regular statistical monitoring of facility numbers and spatial conditions to promote the philosophy of lifelong education and achieve spatial equity.

This research aims to analyze the management of educational facilities and infrastructure at the Vocational High School (SMK) Negeri 3 Jakarta Pusat. Educational facilities and infrastructure are crucial components in achieving effective and efficient learning processes. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMK Negeri 3 Jakarta Pusat has been carried out quite well, but there are still some challenges that need to be addressed. The processes of planning, procurement, maintenance, and evaluation of facilities and infrastructure have followed the existing procedures, although their implementation has not been optimal. Supporting factors include the commitment of the school administration and support from the local government. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors consist of budget limitations, lack of participation from some stakeholders, and technical issues in facility maintenance. This research suggests that the school should enhance coordination with the government and private sector to obtain more adequate budget support. Additionally, there needs to be an improvement in the capacity of facility and infrastructure management personnel, as well as the development of continuous training programs. Regular evaluations and stricter supervision are also expected to improve the quality of facilities and infrastructure management at SMK Negeri 3 Jakarta Pusat.

Challenges of Leadership in the Implementation of the National Children’s Policy of Ethiopia at Bahir Dar City Administration Women, Children and Social Affairs Department

The purpose of this research was to identify the major challenges of Leadership in the implementation of the national children’s policy of Ethiopia, at Bahir Dar City Administration Women, Children and Social Affairs Department. To identify the major challenges of leadership in the implementation of the policy, constructivist research paradigm, qualitative research approach and phenomenological research design were employed. Interviews and focus group discussions were the basic tools of data collection. Purposive sampling technique and thematic data analysis are employed. The challenges of leadership in the implementation of the national children’s policy in the study area are multi-faceted. But according to the findings of this study, they are grouped into four themes. These are: economic challenges, socio-cultural challenges, lack of awareness and political and legal problems. To overcome the challenges of leadership in the implementation of the policy, the following recommendations were given. These were: providing education and health facilities for children, providing school feeding for children, creating awareness about the rights of children for all stakeholders, increasing the economic level of families, building recreational centers for children, allocating enough financial and human resources for children affairs, increasing children role and participation in decision making processes affecting them, giving due attention for the rights of children by the government and providing effective justice system for children.

Rural development: the basis for the realization of agrarian policy

Among the problems currently existing in the regions of Kazakhstan is the increasing outflow of able-bodied population from rural areas and localization in the suburban zone of cities. The aim- is to identify the causes of deterioration of the demographic situation in rural settlements (RS) and to develop recommendations for stabilization of the rural economy in the West Kazakhstan region. Methods - retrospective when obtaining data for past periods of time, comparative analysis - to compare the information obtained, on the basis of economic and statistical method the selection and analysis of statistical indicators of the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, used information from scientific institutions, official sources, defined absolute and relative parameters, average values. Results - it is shown that the main factors of degradation of most rural areas of Western Kazakhstan are the lack of a clear vision of the role and place of rural residents and rural areas in the socio-economic development of the republic, weakening of state regulation in the sectors of agriculture. Conclusions - the prospects for building the capacity of rural areas of the West Kazakhstan region is associated with a number of interrelated problems that need to be solved as soon as possible, primarily modernization of social and technical infrastructure, increasing the motivation of the economically active part of the rural population in mastering new knowledge and technologies, which will increase labor income and effective demand of rural residents for goods and services. The study indicates that in rural areas the situation with investment and expansion of small business activities is ambiguous. It is necessary to emphasize the small business entities in the sphere of agrarian production and the formation of social facilities - housing, catering enterprises, social and cultural facilities, education, pre-school education, sports and recreational facilities. This author's position provides for the possibility of forming greater investment attractiveness and attracting extra-budgetary sources of financing. Elimination of environmental barriers will require improvement of the current regulatory and legal framework.

Penerapan Elemen Budaya Korea Pada Perancangan Korean Cultural Center Indonesia di Jakarta Selatan

South Korea is a country that is developing and progressing rapidly in all fields, including politics, economy, culture, and technology. Despite its rapid development, South Korea still maintains its cultural distinctiveness. This is a distinct advantage for the Korean state compared to other developed countries where most of the original culture has faded due to the development of the economy and technology. As a Cultural Center, it should have facilities such as facilities to introduce the culture of a country, but the interior atmosphere of KCCI still does not reflect Korean Culture and has not brought up Korean branding (Hallyu). Therefore, there is a need for a new design of the South Korean Cultural Center which has the aim of spreading Korean culture to increase the branding of the Korean state in accordance with the vision and mission of KOCIS by providing educational, informative, and recreational facilities to the people of Indonesia. The provision of Korean cultural elements is also very influential in this design including the provision of Korean calligraphy, Korean paintings, Mugunghwa flower motifs, and wood materials to give a more aesthetic impression of Korean culture itself.

공공환경 관점에서의 통학로 주변 공사안전 가설시설물 공공디자인 적용에 관한 탐색적 연구

This study aims to empirically explore the necessity of expanding the application of public design to facilities affected by social changes, and to explore operational and management directions accordingly. Through this research, it identifies the target facilities around schools where public design should be applied in construction sites, proposes directions for applying public design, and provides foundational data for future local governments and regional education offices to implement. The study aims to propose practical plans for the concrete realization of public design while diagnosing issues and suggesting improvements, drawing from domestic discussions on the social role of public design and related legislation and manuals. It proposes operational directions for the application of public design to hypothetical facilities around school construction sites in three dimensions: expanding types of public design applications and developing standard designs, establishing operational management systems, and advancing basic and operational plans for promoting public design. Through these efforts, it is expected that public sentiment regarding the impact on educational facilities due to construction will expand in terms of the right to education, thereby fostering community interest and achieving social prescriptions through regional environmental management.

Enhancing The Quality Of Agricultural Technology Education In A Developing Economy

The development and transformation of Nigerian agriculture vis-a-vis the development of Nigerian economy has been the utmost concern of government. researchers and many individuals. Most developed and developing countries of the world have long realized that the only way to meet adequate diet and food demand of their people is by acquiring functional literacy, knowledge and skill for productive activity. Education policies in Nigeria have often focused on raising aggregate enrolment figures, training more teachers and building more schools, paying attention to the lopsidedness in the geographical distribution of educational facilities across the nation for the sake of social justice and equity. However, until recently, conspicuously absent n most planning efforts in Nigeria s the concern for the quality and relevance of our educational training towards National development. Navigating Educational Challenges in Indonesia: Policy Recommendations for Future Success

Domestic and international observers scrutinize education in Indonesia due to persistent challenges that significantly diminish its quality. This study aims to provide a constructive analysis by identifying key issues within the Indonesian educational sector and proposing various strategic solutions to enhance the system. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, this research incorporates a literature review along with the collection of both primary and secondary data. The data collection involves extensive documentation and subsequent analysis. The findings reveal multiple pressing issues in Indonesian education, such as disparities in educational outcomes, substandard educational facilities and infrastructure, deficiencies in teacher quality and conduct, issues with student morality, and a lack of tolerance for ethnic diversity. Addressing these problems requires a collaborative effort across all societal sectors. Proposed solutions include enhancing teacher and student welfare, cultivating a global perspective and fostering a positive mindset among educators and learners, designing an inclusive and holistic curriculum, ensuring vigilant management of budgets, and encouraging greater involvement from the private sector. By incorporating these strategies, there is a potential not only to rectify current deficiencies but also to elevate the overall standard of education in Indonesia. This improvement will require sustained efforts and a commitment to innovation and inclusivity in educational practices.

Parental education, embarrassment, and sanitation facilities influence menstrual product choices among female nursing students in Bangladesh

ABSTRACT Understanding the factors that shape menstrual product choices is crucial for improving menstrual health and hygiene practices among young women in low-resource settings. This study investigates the influence of parental education, embarrassment, and sanitation facilities on the choice between hygienic menstrual products, like single-use pads, and unhygienic options, such as old clothes. A structured questionnaire was used to interview 366 nursing students in Bangladesh, with an average age of 23.3 ± 4.3 years. Descriptive statistics, Pearson's chi-square test, and multivariable logistic regression were performed using JMP Pro 17. The major products were single-use pads (61%) and old clothes (32%). Participants' family was the primary source of menstrual information, and product choices were influenced by both fathers' (p < 0.05) and mothers' (p < 0.05) education level. Additionally, the participants reported negative perceptions of the sanitation facilities, citing issues such as a lack of privacy, cleanliness, and the availability of water and soap. Embarrassment about buying (Adjusted Odds Ratio (AOR): 2.86 [1.16–7.07]) and privacy of bathroom facilities (AOR: 2.92 [1.12–7.63]) increased the odds of old clothes, while fear of staining blood (AOR: 2.95 [1.53–5.68]) increased the odds of having single-use pads. Better menstrual health and hygiene practices require improved parental education, reduced embarrassment, and better sanitation facilities.

Delivering Military Ethics Education to the Colombian Armed Forces: Centre for Military Ethics’ Collaboration with Colombian Military Educational Facilities

ABSTRACT This article describes the progress and impact of the King’s College London Centre for Military Ethics since its collaboration with the Colombian military forces’ educational institutions. More specifically, the article focusses on expanding the military ethics course across different educational facilities of the Colombian Army and the Colombian Navy and Air Force. The impact of the education delivered using an online course designed to be completed without a tutor is analysed and presented. The final part of the article describes a way forward as far as the Colombian project is concerned, as well as the refinement of the course materials and launch of new tools.

Addressing Challenges in School-Based Management: Planning for Better Learning and Resource Management

This study aims to examine the planning for implementing School-Based Management (SBM) at SMP IT Muhammadiyah An Najah Jatinom, focusing on improving the quality of learning and human resource (HR) management. Ideally, SBM is designed to enhance students' academic and religious competence through participatory planning involving teachers, parents, and the local community. However, despite the formulation of the school's vision and mission, the school faces limited resources and budget, which impact the implementation of planned programs. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from relevant parties, such as the Principal, Vice Principal, and Teachers. Data analysis was conducted through triangulation to ensure the validity and accuracy of the information obtained. The research findings show that although SBM planning is well-structured, focusing on improving teacher competency through training and workshops and developing infrastructure that supports technology-based educational facilities, there are still deficiencies in coordination and supervision that need improvement for more optimal implementation. Overall, this research emphasizes that structured and participatory planning is essential to achieving SBM success and enhancing educational quality, although challenges in resource management must be addressed for optimal implementation.
