Fostering the Value of Religious Tolerance among Students through the Development of Potential Issues

Religious tolerance is a global priority amidst diverse beliefs and interests. This research explores potential issues in student religious tolerance for educational stakeholders. The study uses a qualitative bibliometric approach with descriptive data analysis. Findings indicate an increasing but modest trend in religious tolerance research over the past 14 years (2010-2024), peaking in 2023 with 65 articles. Electronic journals (e-journals) are the largest source of such research, with 150 publications. Four productive researchers from Jambi University produced two publications: Arizal Dwi Kurniawan, Nur Aini, Marlina Susanti, and Anisa Andrian. The study identifies several potential future research areas in student religious tolerance, including religion, mutual respect, analysis, tolerance, character education, data, institutions, teachers, Islamic religion, literature review, Islamic education, school, challenges, literacy, strategy, teacher, multicultural Islamic education, student ability, integration, multicultural education, society, tolerance, literature study, child, and concept.

ISLAMIC BASED ECO-FRIENDLY CHARACTER EDUCATION: A CASE STUDY OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN BANJARMASIN

This study describes Islamic-based eco-friendly character education and its implications in elementary schools in Banjarmasin. This study used a qualitative approach, case study type with the research objects of the principal, teachers, and students. Research data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The researcher used technical triangulation and source triangulation to obtain data validity. The researcher found that Islamic-based eco-friendly character education was carried out through several activities, namely daily reports, GPS (trash collection movement), LISA (see trash pick up) habits, community service, waste banks, composting, nurseries, hydroponics planting, TOGA planting, water and energy conservation, eco-friendly behavioral innovation, environmental learning, formation of Adiwiyata cadres and coaching of Adiwiyata schools. The implications of Islamic-based eco-friendly character education in elementary schools in Banjarmasin refer to four components, namely environmentally aware school policies, implementation of environmentally based curriculum, participatory environmental activities and management of eco-friendly facilities and infrastructure

Perancangan Desain Karakter “Buyung dan Upik” Sebagai Upaya Mengajarkan Kesetaraan Gender Untuk Anak Usia Dini

This research aims to design attractive and educational character designs to teach the concept of gender equality to early childhood children. Character design is a pre-production stage in making of films or animated videos, games, comics, illustrated books, and other media as a means of education and information dissemination. Through the designed characters, children are invited to understand that every individual has the same rights and opportunities in every aspect of life, regardless of their gender. This can be taught from the family environment. One example is sharing roles in household chores. This research method uses a creative thinking process based on Wallas' theory, consisting of four stages: preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification. The designed characters are figures of sisters and brothers “Buyung and upik”who have different natures and characters but always share roles and work at home. The results of this study are expected to produce character designs that are not only attractive to early childhood children but also effective in conveying messages about gender equality.

Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama: The Spirit of Transformative and Character Education in Jeddah Indonesian Schools

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bahwa Muhammadiyah dan Nahdlatul Ulama memiliki peran penting dalam mewarnai proses pendidikan transformative dan Pendidikan karakter di sekolah Indonesia Jeddah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi etnografi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan analisis dokumen. Teknik analisis data digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan data hasil wawancara, mengadopsi berbagai pemikiran pendiri dan tokoh, menganalisis dokumen kurikulum dan profil sekolah serta melanjutkan penyajian data yang disusun dalam bentuk laporan penelitian. Penelitian ini mejelaskan bahwa semua pihak yang tertarik dengan dunia pendidikan di Indonesia, baik yang diselenggarakan di dalam negeri maupun di luar negeri, khususnya di Sekolah Indonesia Jeddah terus memberikan kontribusi terutama oleh Muhammdiyah dan Nahdatul Ulama. Membangun pendidikan transformatif dan pendidikan karakter bagi Muhammadiyah dengan Slogan Islam Berkemajuan melalui semangat mengadaptasi dan mengintegrasikan dikotomi holistik ilmu pengetahuan yang menerapkan nilai-nilai humanisasi, pembebasan, dan transendensi serta internalisasi dalam Ali Imran ayat 104 dan 110 yang menginspirasi lahirnya Muhammadiyah. Islam Nusantara sebagai slogan Nadhlatul Ulama berkontribusi pada akulturasi masyarakat Indonesia yang plural dengan berbagai tradisi, sehingga nilai keragaman tetap terjaga di tengah arus globalisasi. Dua slogan keislaman dari dua organisasi Islam terbesar di Indonesia telah berkontribusi nyata menguatkan soft skill siswa menyiapkan masa depannya dengan penguatan nilai-nilia budaya keindonesiaan sebagai tempat kelahirannya.

Transforming leaders to transform hospitals. Cultivating ethical leadership for compassionate healthcare

The importance of compassionate care has been widely acknowledged in the literature as a crucial component for enhancing patient care, improving clinical outcomes, and reducing burnout, compassion fatigue, malpractice, and healthcare costs (Watts et al., 2023). However, many healthcare systems continue to struggle with effectively implementing and sustaining compassionate care practices due to the burden of administration, limitations in resources, and a focus on efficiency and profitability. The purpose of this paper is to advocate for the necessity of (re) “humanizing” the healthcare environment, which is urgently needed today to counteract the trend of eroding the value or essence of care practices by refocusing on the patient and their family. Specifically, this paper will argue that to reverse this trend, it is crucial to transform the education of healthcare facility leaders and managers at all levels. It is vital to provide them with guidelines and training that is not only technical but also ethical, with a focus on character education. This approach would enable them to recognize the right values and effectively address complex situations from a moral perspective. Providing leaders with the opportunity to flourish through dedicated programs can positively transform our hospitals and healthcare facilities. Such programs are essential for creating a balanced healthcare environment where efficiency and compassionate care coexist, leading to improved care outcomes, reduced costs, and enhanced well-being for professionals.

Character Education Values in The Book of Jāmi'ul Ulūm Wal Hikam and Its Relevance to Commendable Morals in Madrasahs

The hadeeths in the book of Jāmi'ul ulūm wal hikam contain many character values that can be applied to learning commendable morals in the Madrasahs. Studying character values from the hadeeths of the Prophet Muhammad is very important to understand their practical application in learning commendable morals in Madrasahs. This research aims to describe the character values in the hadeeths in the book of jāmi'ul ulūm wal hikam and their relevance to the material of commendable morals in Madrasahs based on KMA No. 183 of 2019. This research aims to identify and describe the character values in the book of Jāmi'ul ulūm wal hikam and its relevance to the material of commendable morals in Madrasahs. This research uses a library research method and qualitative paradigm with a semantic approach to describe the character values in the book of Jāmi'ul ulūm wal hikam. Data collection techniques include reviewing literature, books, notes, and reports on the topics. The analysis technique used in this research is content analysis to describe the character values in the book of Jāmi'ul ulūm wal hikam. Then, the research results are relevant to Madrasahs's moral material. The results show seventeen character values in the book of jāmi'ul ulūm wal hikam. These values are sincerity, wara', affection, restraint of speech, self-control, kindness to animals, humility, shame, istiqāmah, cleanliness, patience, generosity, obedience, zuhud, helpfulness, honesty, and tawakal. The character values of sincerity, obedience, istiqāmah, and patience are relevant to all commendable moral materials in Madrasahss as companion character values in each commendable moral material. Twelve character values apply to the material of commendable morals in the related values: sincerity, affection, restraint of speech, kindness to animals, humility, istiqāmah, cleanliness, patience, obedience, helpfulness, honesty, and tawakal. Evaluation of the Character Education Strengthening Program in Elementary Schools in View from CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product)

This research aims to evaluate the context, input, process, and products in the character education strengthening program at SD Muhammadiyah 05 Pekanbaru. The approach used in this research was qualitative with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques included reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research showed that the character education program at SD Muhammadiyah 05 Pekanbaru had proven to be effective. This can be seen from several aspects: First, the context aspect, where most of it has been fulfilled well. Program procedures, which include a clear and detailed vision, mission, goals, and background, were in accordance with community needs. It is evidenced by the increasing number of students studying and student participation in extracurricular activities, as well as student enthusiasm in carrying out character education programs. Second, is the input aspect, where most of the input components have been fulfilled properly. The majority of teachers implemented character education programs effectively. Third, the process aspect, where all components had been implemented quite well. This can be seen from the value of students' discipline and curiosity, as well as the enthusiasm of educators in guiding and directing students in implementing character education, both in the classroom and outside the classroom. Fourth, the product aspect, where most of the product components of the character education program at SD Muhammadiyah 05 Pekanbaru had shown satisfactory results. This can be seen from the instillation of character values carried out, as well as the implementation or habituation of character education carried out by each student in activities at school. Apart from that, the achievements achieved, both in the academic and non-academic fields, also showed the success of this program.

Kepemimpinan Kenabian dalam Pengembangan Pendidikan Karakter Siswa SD IT Assalaam Sanden Kabupaten Bantul

The purpose of education is none other than to shape the character and behaviour of individuals and learning groups in order to have a character spirit in accordance with the norms. In formal education, there has been a moral and moral crisis in students. Prophetic leadership is closely related to the formation of a person's behaviour and character, especially in the context of education that aims to educate and form morals. Prophetic leadership can have a significant impact on school organisations. Prophetic leadership plays an important role in the figure or example of people in the surrounding environment. This research was conducted at the level of Islamic basic education involving principals, teachers, and students related to the implications of the application of prophetic leadership on the development of character education in students. Data collection was done by interview and documentation. The data obtained in the form of exposure to interview information sources are then condensed, analysed and will be verified in accordance with the validity of the data. This study aims to describe the phenomenology of prophetic leadership and its relation to student character education at SD IT Assalaam Bantul. The results of the study explain that the principal in leading educational institutions has implemented prophetic leadership by integrating prophetic traits in its management. With a characterful principal leader, it is able to have a positive influence on the surrounding environment, especially for students, because the principal in the scope of education is a central role model. SD IT Assalaam Sanden Kabupaten Bantul has a programme of development activities that can shape the character of students according to Islamic teachings and uphold Islamic values.

Contribution of Children's Literature in the Formation of Character of Elementary School Children

This study aims to describe the contribution of children's literature in character education and the selection of children's literature according to the developmental stage of elementary school children. This study is a qualitative-descriptive study of the library research type. Data collection techniques are by searching for sources and constructing from books on children's literature and accredited journals, then analyzing critically and in-depth. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be explained that the contribution of children's literature to the emotional aspect is obtained from demonstrations of life as demonstrated by the characters in the story so that children will learn how to manage their emotions so as not to harm themselves and others. In the intellectual aspect, children's literature contains sequencing and plot logic to support children's use of their minds to think, understand and criticize the stories they get. In the aspect of imagination, literature in its stories can attract the child's entire self. With this, the child gains an extraordinary experience that is significantly correlated with creativity and will provoke the growth and development of creativity. In the social aspect, children's literature demonstrates character interactions so that it supports children in maximizing their development in their proximal development zone. In addition, from an educational aspect, children's literature is connected to aspects of exploration and discovery, language, beauty, multicultural insight, and children's reading habits that influence reading habits and literacy culture, which are very necessary in facing the progress of science and technology in this era.

Digital Teaching Materials for Historical Narrative Texts Oriented to Character Education for SD/MI Students

This research aims to develop digital teaching materials for historical narrative texts oriented towards character education for SD/MI students. Background to the problem of this research 1) What is the need for digital teaching materials for historical narrative texts oriented towards character education for SD/MI? 2) How are digital teaching materials for historical narrative texts oriented towards character education for SD/MI? 3) What is the feasibility of digital teaching materials for historical narrative texts oriented towards character education for SD/MI? This research uses research and development methods with the ADDIE (Analysis Design Development Implementation Evaluate) model. The steps in this research consist of needs analysis, designing digital teaching materials, developing digital teaching materials, implementing digital teaching material products, and product evaluation (digital teaching materials). Data collection in this research was by collecting data from the results of expert validation questionnaires and student assessment questionnaires. The data obtained was analyzed descriptively using a Likert scale. The results of the validation test by material experts obtained a value of 2.93, the validation test by media experts obtained a value of 3.00. The validation test by the Indonesian language teacher received a value of 3.03. The results of implementing e-module teaching materials in schools received a positive response from students with a score of 3.2. The conclusion of this research is that digital historical narrative text teaching materials oriented towards character education for SD/MI students meet the appropriate criteria for use as teaching materials by students or teachers in Indonesian language subjects. Development of Digital Teaching Materials for Short Story Texts Based on Local Wisdom in Middle Schools (Phase D)

Education must integrate local wisdom to prevent cultural values ​​from fading in the era of globalization. The Merdeka Curriculum supports this with the flexibility to emphasize character education and independence. Digital teaching materials based on local wisdom, such as short story texts, can improve students' reading, writing and cultural understanding skills. The aim of this research is to develop and test digital teaching materials for short story texts based on local wisdom for junior high school students. This research used the ADDIE method with the help of 2 media and language validators as well as 6 students and 3 teachers in testing teaching materials. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The teaching material design process begins with an analysis of student needs and the curriculum, followed by creating a storyboard and validation by two validators who state that the teaching material is very worthy of being tested. The implementation of local wisdom-based teaching materials shows high effectiveness, with student responses reaching 90% and teacher responses 87%, both in the very good category.

디자인 씽킹을 접목한 중학교 인성교육 프로그램 개발 연구

Objectives This study aimed to structure the content framework of a middle school character education curriculum by grafting design thinking and to develop a character education program. Methods The developed program was applied within the school and supplemented by receiving feedback, and the effectiveness of the program was verified using a paired-sample t-test in a single group pre- and post-test. Through this, the degree of students' character literacy development and the adequacy of the program were evaluated. In addition, we analyzed the opinions collected through opinion surveys and personal interviews of students who participated in each character education strategy. Results The detailed results of research and development are as follows. (1) Construction of middle school character curriculum content system grafting design thinking, (2) Establishment of middle school character curriculum types grafting design thinking, (3) 9 programs of middle school character education grafting design thinking, (4) The design content of the middle school character education program grafting design thinking, (5) The degree of character literacy cultivation. In these five aspects, the validity and effectiveness of the middle school character education program graftin design thinking was confirmed. Conclusions Firstly, a curriculum for systematic and comprehensive character curriculum is needed for the holistic growth of students. Secondly, combining character education and design thinking creates a synergistic effect. Thirdly, character education must be strengthened through cooperation between schools, families, and communities. Fourthly, policy support and improvement of the educational environment are essential.

Analisis Penerapan Pendidikan Karakter Pada Mata Pelajaran IPS Di SMPN 18 Kota Bengkulu

Character education plays an important role in forming a moral and ethical generation. Without character education, students may have difficulty distinguishing between good and bad. Character education teaches values ​​that are important for students' personal lives. This research aims to determine the application of character education in class VIII social studies subjects at SMPN 18 Bengkulu City. The research method used is qualitative research with research subjects involving social studies teachers and class VIII students. With data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that SMPN 18 Bengkulu City in the social studies learning process has implemented character education in the form of religious character, discipline, curiosity, responsibility and tolerance. The school also tries to continue to do its best to implement all existing character education for their students. The conclusion from this research is that SMPN 18 Bengkulu City has implemented character education in social studies subjects which can be a basis for teachers to develop their knowledge in order to create a conducive learning environment as an effort to develop student character.

Penerapan Karate dalam Sikap Disipilin dan Bertanggung Jawab Anak Sekolah Dasar

This study aims to explore the application of karate martial arts to the development of discipline and responsibility in elementary school children. Using qualitative research methods, the study involved participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, karate coaches, and parents, and analysis of documentation related to the application of karate. The results showed that participation in regular karate training contributed positively to the improvement of students' discipline and sense of responsibility. The discipline taught through training in karate helps children understand the importance of rules and consistency. In addition, the responsibility instilled through the cultivation of attitudes demonstrated in karate training strengthens their ability to take responsibility for their own actions. The implications of these findings suggest that karate can be an effective tool in the character education of primary school children, with the potential to enhance life skills that are important for their future development.

Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Pendidikan Agama Katolik dan Budi Pekerti dengan Metode Problem Based Learning Fase D Kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Tukka

This study aims to determine the improvement in student learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education and Character Education after the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method for seventh-grade students in Phase D at SMP Negeri 3 Tukka. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. This method was chosen for its ability to develop critical thinking skills, collaboration, and the application of religious values in daily life. The study employs a quantitative approach with pretests and posttests to measure learning outcomes. Data were collected from test results and observations during the learning process. The results indicate a significant improvement in student learning outcomes following the implementation of the PBL method. In the first cycle, the average student score increased from 70.6 to 75.6, while in the second cycle, it rose further to 90.6. Additionally, there was an improvement in critical thinking skills and the ability to work collaboratively among students. Thus, the implementation of the PBL method has proven effective in enhancing learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education and Character Education for seventh-grade students in Phase D at SMP Negeri 3 Tukka.

Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Fase E Kelas X Materi Bersikap Kritis dan Bertanggung Jawab terhadap Media Massa dengan Bantuan Platform Digital Menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah di SMA Negeri 1 Alasa, Kecamatan Alasa, Kabupaten Nias Utara

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes on the material "Being critical and responsible towards mass media" in Catholic Religious Education and Character Education learning in class X Phase E of SMA Negeri 1 Alasa using the Problem Based Learning method. The subjects of the study were six students who had difficulty with the material. This study was conducted in two cycles with four stages, namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes with an average score increasing from cycle I to cycle II. The implementation of the PBL method has a positive impact on student understanding of the material and active participation in learning. This study suggests the application of the PBL method to improve the quality of learning outcomes in other subjects.

Peran Guru Pendidikan Agama Katolik dalam Pembentukan Karakter Peserta Didik di Sekolah

The development of character education in schools in modern times is a challenge for Catholic Religious Education teachers in forming a generation with noble character. A Catholic Religious Education teacher is bound by the obligation to carry out the role of shepherd within the scope of education. Catholic Religious Education Teachers play the role of mentors in their duties, namely educating, so they have duties as journalists and educators. As a preacher, a Catholic religious education teacher takes on the task of proclaiming the news of salvation. Meanwhile, as educators, the task of Catholic Religious Education teachers is to guide students towards maturity, both physically and spiritually mature. Students who are spiritually mature will have noble character. To achieve this noble character requires character education which cannot be separated from the role of a Catholic Religious Education Teacher. It is hoped that character education will be able to form a generation whose existence will provide the widest possible benefits in daily life both at home, at school and in society. A literature review approach is used to write articles in order to develop an in-depth understanding to improve the role of Catholic religious education teachers in shaping the character of students in schools. The results of the research in this article conclude that Catholic Religious Education Teachers have an important role in shaping the character of students at school.

Meningkatkan Keaktifan Siswa Dalam Pembelajaran Pak Melalui Model Pbl Kelas V Fase C SD Negeri 16 Sadaniang

From the initial observation of the learning process of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education at SD Negeri 16 Sadaniang, it showed a lack of student activity which affected the level of understanding and learning outcomes. This study aims to improve student activity in the learning process and student learning outcomes by using the Problem Based Learning model on the material Involved in Environmental Conservation at SD Negeri 16 Sadaniang, grade V (five) Phase C. By using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) design through four (4) stages, namely; planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection, it is expected to be able to overcome the problems that occur. The subjects of this study were grade V (five) students with a total of 5 students consisting of 3 boys and 2 girls. To obtain research data, Data Collection Techniques were carried out with several aspects, namely; conducting observations with the Pancasila Student Profile indicator; the dimension of mutual cooperation with sub-elements, namely positive interdependence, through cognitive learning outcome tests with the expectation of being proficient, competent, feasible and newly developing.

Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik sebagai Laki-laki dan Perempuan Diciptakan Secitra dengan Allah melalui Metode Pembelajaran Based Learning (PBL) Tahun Pelajaran 2024/2025

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education and Character Education, especially in the material "Men and Women Are Created in the Image of God" through the Project-Based Learning method. This study is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles at SDN 219/IV Jambi in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 school year. The results of the study showed an increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of the PBL method.
