FISABILILLAH ERA KONTEMPORER DALAM PERSPEKTIF RASYID RIDHA

This research discusses Muhammad Rasyid Ridho's views on fisabilillah in the contemporary era, where in classical jurisprudence studies and tafsir asnaf fisabilillah is interpreted as a person who strives or fights to defend the religion of Allah, apart from that his zakat funds may only be intended for these people (asnab eight) and may not be allocated to others. This research is a library research type using qualitative methods. In his book Tafsir Al-manar volume 10, Rasyid Ridho explains that fisabilillah is for the benefit of Muslims, through which all sharia and daulah activities run, not for individual interests. In this way, everything related to the benefit of the Muslims can be used from this stock, if there is no such asnab, then it may be allocated to another asnab. What is the basis of his views in this case is based on the situation of Muslims which is increasingly sad at the moment, both in terms of religion, society and educational backwardness.

Socio-monetary and Demographic Profile of Gujjar and Bakkarwals of Poonch District

The present study is an attempt to understand the educational backwardness of scheduled tribes of district Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir. The Scheduled Tribes (ST’s) are the socially and educationally deprived people in India. Scheduled Tribes have specific histories of social and monetary deprivation and the underlying reasons in their educational marginalization are also strikingly awesome. Schooling forms a crucial factor inside the average improvement of people, enabling them to get extra awareness, higher comprehension in their social, political and cultural surroundings and additionally facilitating inside the development of their socio-monetary conditions. The time period “tribe” was earlier used for a network which constituted a homogenous institution that lived in overall isolation having a particularly self-sustaining economic system independent political setup and which maintained wonderful customs, religions practices inherited from one common place ancestor. The scheduled tribes are the oldest settlers, if no longer the primary in India and India has the second one biggest concentration of the tribes inside internationally. Scheduled tribe population constitutes 8.6% of the entire population in India. Jammu and Kashmir has many tribal communities having their own traditions, cultures and customs. Scheduled Tribe groups have traditionally lived in remote and some difficult terrains in the direction of forests and natural assets. Most of the tribes live in inaccessible areas.

The Changing Trend of Tribal Education in West Bengal with Special Emphasis on the Girl Students

Education is an investment towards development. Gender gap in education is common among the backward classes of people in India. Aim of this study is to understand the recent trend of tribal education among the Scheduled Tribes of West Bengal. Study covered four districts from different zones of West Bengal. These were Alipurduar from north, Birbhum from central part, Purulia from west and South 24 Pargana from the southern part. The selected villages were chiefly inhabited by the tribal population. Secondary data related to tribal education were collected from Census of India (2011) and Statistics of School Education (2010- 11), while primary data were collected through field work in four districts. Both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection were followed. A structured schedule was used for collection of household level data, which covered education related questions. Personal interviews with the teachers, parents and case studies of the students supplemented the quantitative data. Fourteen different tribal groups were studied in the selected areas during field work. Secondary sources suggest educational backwardness and gender gap among the tribal population. Findings show district wise and community specific variation in status of education among the studied population. A positive development was observed in case of girl’s education. The gender gap is gradually decreasing. Among many factors responsible for this changing trend, major was development programmes meant for girl’s education in West Bengal.

Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Pelatihan Keterampilan Las di Banjar Gria Hita Lingkungan Griya Pagutan Indah Mataram

The improvement of human resources quality is a crucial part of the nation-building process. The quality of human resources plays a pivotal role in supporting the competitiveness of a nation amid global competition. Developing countries, including Indonesia, face complex developmental issues such as poverty, educational backwardness, economic challenges, cultural issues, high unemployment rates, and other social problems. Based on these considerations, we pay serious attention to community development with the aim of guiding and transferring skills that can empower the community towards greater productivity. Skills education and welding training are conducted in collaboration with youth groups, targeting the general community, especially the youth. Through the implementation of this welding training program, we seek to provide learning opportunities for unemployed youth without skills, enabling them to acquire knowledge and skills in line with their talents and interests. Ultimately, it is hoped that the skills gained from welding training can serve as a foundation for employment and even the creation of self-employment or group ventures in the future.

Causes and effects of educational backwardness and Pakistani society

The positive changes that education brings to our thoughts, helps in overcoming the difficulties of life. Various social problems of our society can be eradicated only through education because, the development of society depends upon the awareness of discernment which is possible only through education. An educated rank can lead a better standard of living. Education is the name of awakening of consciousness not only in individuals but also in masses and foster a civilized society. Any society lacking education is not only deemed incomplete but also a dysfunctional one in the world. Societies based on ignorance always fail and lead to anarchy, ill mannered, immoral, and uncivilized lifestyle. Success cannot be imagined without education. Education is the first necessity for socio-economic development of any nation. Education helps in maintaining law and order in the country. A well-educated population tends to uphold the law, while an uneducated one may promote criminal activities like theft, robbery, and murder to fulfill their needs and wants; ultimately disrupting social harmony and leading to; law and order violation in society. Education is the movement from darkness to light; and is the fundamental right of every human being in this world because the development of the world is entirely dependent on education.

K. S. Kalelkar Committee’s Self- Abnegation and the Conundrum of Backward Classes in India

This paper examines the discourse surrounding the concept of backwardness and reservation policies for backward classes in post-independent India. It analyses the provisions related to Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the Indian Constitution, highlighting their inadequacy in addressing the extent of deprivation and exclusion faced by these groups. The paper also explores the historical evolution of the discourse on backwardness and reservation, including the role of influential figures such as Ambedkar, Shahu Maharaj, and others. Additionally, it discusses the formation of the first Backward Classes Commission, chaired by Kaka Saheb Kalelkar, and examines its recommendations for addressing social and educational backwardness. The findings shed light on the challenges and inconsistencies in the discourse surrounding backwardness and reservation policies in independent India. The contents of this paper are drawn upon from the ICSSR sponsored national research project titled “Status of Reservation Policy: A Study of Higher Educational Institutions in Bihar” (F. No. 02/151/2016-17/RP).

Pengesahan Perkawinan Sebagai Administrasi Pemberantasan Keterbelakangan Pendidikan

In the Malind Anim community in Buti, many couples only marry based on customary law, so they do not yet have a marriage certificate. The aim of this community service is to provide understanding to the community about the importance of registering marriages and also to facilitate people who have not legally married to be registered and to carry out marriages in churches and civil registries. The implementation method is carried out in 3 stages, namely starting from data collection, counseling about the importance of legalizing marriage as an administration for eradicating educational backwardness and implementing mass weddings. The result of this service was that 24 couples had entered into religious and legal marriages and 24 of these couples had religious marriage certificates and also marriage certificates from the Merauke Regency Government, namely the Civil and Population Registry Office.

An Exploratory Study of Scheduled Caste Undergraduate Students in Jammu and Kashmir

Scheduled caste is a backward section of Indian society. The educational resources and benefits provided to the scheduled castes constitute a substantial community. The population is still socially and educationally lagging behind other sections of society. Educational backwardness is the indicator of socio-economic inequalities in the structure of the Indian social order. Thus, in the present article, an attempt has been made to study the enrolment and dropout rate of scheduled caste undergraduate students in Jammu and Kashmir. The primary data in the present study has been collected from various colleges in the Doda and Ramban districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The findings of the study discovered a significant difference in the enrolment of scheduled caste male and female students. Furthermore, the dropout of male scheduled caste students was found highest as compared to females; however, the dropout rate of scheduled caste students is decreasing every year concerning both genders.

Socio-Economic Status of Women in Rural Udaipur, India

In our country, rural women – the wives of farming family heads – account for almost 80% of the overall female population. They constitute about half of the total rural population and, as such, are quantitatively capable of playing a significant role in the rural economy. The demographic profile of women in general, and rural women in particular, paints a depressing image of educational backwardness, poverty, deprivation, bad health, and a lack of possibilities for economic, political, and social development. Rural women have a variety of roles that need more time and effort. The present study makes an attempt to analyze the demographic factors of rural women. The total sample of the study comprised of 180 farm women drawn by random sampling method from six villages of Mavli and Vallabhnagar Block. The demographic variables viz., age, education, caste, family type, family size, land holding, housing pattern, occupation, income and material possession were studied through a general information schedule. The profile analysis of rural women with respect to the demographic characteristics revealed that majority of the respondents (83.34%) had medium socio-economic status while 16.67 per cent respondents belonged to low socio-economic status. None of the respondent fall in the high socio-economic category.

Based on the specifics of the coronavirus epidemics (SARS, MERS) that preceded the COVID-19 pandemic, our study presents the causes and geographical pathways of the spread of the diseases. The global interconnectedness of human societies led almost necessarily to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. We describe the routes of the global spread of the pandemic, including the role of aviation, and then examine the causes of the infection waves of the pandemic, and the methods of effective control. Regarding the effects of the pandemic on the global economy, we found that rich countries recovered from the crisis relatively quickly, while the suffering of the economies of poor countries was prolonged. Among the social impacts, we consider the widening gap between rich and poor and the educational backwardness of poor children to be serious. The beneficial environmental impact of the pandemic was only temporary. In order to avoid another pandemic changes to the urban environment and also in the society are necessary. The imagined green transformation of the world economy has not materialised, nor has the fight against global climate change become more effective.

COVID-19 Outbreak during Summer Courses at an Elementary School

Due to the COVID-19 emergency, face-to-face classes were suspended. After the vaccination of teachers and to mitigate educational backwardness, the schools have begun to reopen with protocols established by the government. Here, we investigated the COVID-19 outbreak in summer courses during the reopening of a private elementary school in July 2021. We report confirmed cases of COVID-19 in staff members, students, and their families. A total community of 290 people was part of this study, and we built the contact network. The clinical features of all cases are described. We used the methodology of cases and contacts. The index case was identified by epidemiological tracking, and containment measures were activated, as well as further infection chains in the setting. We estimate the attack rate for staff members at 15.68% (95% CI 7.0-28.6), students at 12.24% (95% CI 4.6-24.8), and family members at 2.6% (95% CI 0.8-6.0). An incubation period of 48-72 h was determined. A student-teacher-student-family transmission sequence was identified. The area where the infection was identified was the school swimming pool, an area where face masks are not worn or, in some cases, inadequately used. Finally, we continue with intermittent staff testing and early detection actions, reinforcing prevention measures, environmental control, cleaning, and educational interventions with students regarding the implementation of preventive measures through classes led by school health staff.

Rad srpskih škola u Peći i okolini od nastanka do 1907. godine

Summary: Pedagogical life in Kosovo and Metohija took place under specific and unsettled political, economic and cultural conditions. However, starting from the point of view that the education system in Kosovo and Metohija was conditioned by the great inherited cultural and educational backwardness and the ethnic diversity of the population, the efforts of the educational policy are focused both on the development of the school network, the improvement of education, literacy, school education, as well as on drawing out the population from centuries of cultural and educational backwardness. Starting from this point of view, the basic task and content of the work is dedicated to the treatment of the problems of schooling and education in Peć and its surroundings from its beginning until 1907, which mainly related to a limited number of Serbian schools and education that was one-sided in its content. The emphasis was on a more detailed analysis of teaching work, attendance, number of pupils, teaching staff, conditions in which the educational process was carried out. The subject of the research is to open up many life questions, both questions about the development of education, and about the development of this region, which is somewhat neglected. One of the subjects of the research was to save the development of schooling from insidious and fatal oblivion as a source of preservation and development of the national and cultural identity of a people, guardian and promoter of civilizational achievements, universal and humanistic values.

Development of bilingual education in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China at the present stage

The article examines the features of the system of bilingual education of national minorities in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The specificity of the SUAR lies in the polyethnic and polylinguistic composition of the population. Uighurs and Han Chinese predominate, having socio-economic, religious, cultural, and linguistic differences. It is more difficult for the indigenous Turkic-speaking population to adapt to the modern socio-economic situation, the insufficiently educated population becomes the basis for the development of nationalist and extremist sentiments. The Government notes the relationship between terrorist activity and the educational backwardness of the local Uighur population, which leads to increased efforts to develop bilingual education as a counter-terrorism measure. The 2009 ethnic riots in Xinjiang and the change of leadership in China have strengthened the state's approach to promoting bilingual education. The policy of universalizing Putonghua in Xinjiang schools leads to a rejection reaction among national minorities. Bilingual education is the strategy of the plan for the socio-economic development of the autonomous region by providing Uighurs with language and educational skills to realize opportunities. Bilingual education is carried out at all levels of education: kindergartens, schools, universities. Bilingual education is becoming the main one and is designed to ensure a high degree of socialization of young people from national minorities. Bilingual education leads to ambiguous consequences: It contributes to the socio-economic development of the Turkic-speaking population, but causes discontent among the indigenous population, who perceive it as a violation of nationalculture and customs.

Lecciones educativas del COVID-19 para América Latina y el Caribe. La exigencia de repensar un nuevo concepto de aprendizaje

The situation generated by the educational consequences of Covid-19 represents an unbeatable opportunity to rethink some of the paradigms of the pedagogical narrative present to date. The enormous levels of inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean, both within and between countries, make this an unavoidable requirement: rethinking tomorrow has never made more sense than in the exceptional times we are living through. Through a hermeneutic approach, under content analysis of the main reports and documents of international organisations linked to the world of education, an initial urgent review is made of the possible impact of the pandemic on the region's educational backwardness and its impact on the inequality gaps that have persisted for decades. Far from the arrogance of exhausting the subject, a holistic vision is presented, structured in three fundamental areas: what we learning or should learning, how we should learning, and what we should educate for. It is concluded that the deepening of basic learning competences, the integration of the educational challenge of technology and the commitment to the formation of a critical and committed citizenship, apart from other equally decisive pedagogical aspects, should be the pillars of a new concept of learning for the immediate future.

Perceived discrimination and alcohol consumption in an indigenous population

Introduction. Indigenous populations are considered a vulnerable minority and have characteristics such as poverty, difficulties to access food, housing, and educational backwardness; these conditions make them prone to alcohol consumption problems. Dependence on alcohol consumption probably arises as a symbol of protest, challenge, and response to social anguish, which has in turn repercussions in marginal population sectors that have conditions of fragility due to exploitation and discrimination, such as indigenous people. Objective. To know the effect of perceived discrimination on alcohol consumption in Mexican indigenous population. Method. Research design was descriptive, correlational check-model, with a sample of 362 adults from two indigenous communities. Results. A simple linear regression model was performed, which shows a significant effect in the entire model (F[248] = 78.312, p = .001), which explains 49% of the variance of alcohol consumption. A significant positive influence was also found from the perceived discrimination variable (β = .626, p #abr# .001) on alcohol consumption. Discussion and conclusion. The studied indigenous communities had characteristics that the literature highlights as risk factors for developing addictive behaviors of alcohol consumption. These results coincide with those of the National Commission for the Development of Indigenous Peoples. Indigenous population present discrimination problems that are associated with alcohol consumption problems.

Causes of Educational Backwardness Among Backward Section in West Bengal

One of the main issues in both contemporary and traditional communities has been and is education. It is a potent tool that determines the fate of humanity. In the modern era, achieving greater and more difficult goals has become a crucial issue for every independent nation, but some nations, like our own, face unique difficulties because some minorities, particularly backward class who live in poverty and hardship, are unable to contribute to the economy and development of the nation. The main purpose of the current research is to find out the causes of educational backwardness among backward section. Present study is descriptive survey and qualitative research. In present study self-prepared questionnaire used, and a percentage calculation used for data analysis. Financial difficulties and family financial crises are some of the factors that contribute to educational backwardness among disadvantaged students. Additionally, educational institutions do not put-up specific awareness efforts to attract underprivileged students. Factors contributing to the educational backwardness of backward learners include an unsuitable home environment for learning, family members who are illiterate, a lack of empathy on the part of teachers, a lack of opportunity, and an education that is not adapted to their requirements. SCHEDULED CASTE AND HIGHER EDUCATION: A STUDY OF DISTRICT DODA IN JAMMU AND KASHMIR

Scheduled caste are an educationally backward community in India; educational backwardness of scheduled caste in terms with social and economic inequalities. In India, Scheduled Castes (SCs) are a disadvantaged group in education. SCs' educational backwardness is associated with socio-economic inequities embedded in the Indian social order's structure. The main aims of this study were to examine the participation of scheduled caste undergraduate students concerning their locale, within the category, parental education, income, and distance from home. Descriptive methods were used for the present study and the data has been collected through primary source for this purpose the investigator has visited in different colleges in district Doda of Jammu and Kashmir, besides this the investigator interacted with students face to face. Data has been presented in graphical and percentage from through SPSS 22.0 and representing through tabulation and graphics.

Bilateral Anterior Crystalline Lens Dislocation Reveals Homocystinuria

We report the case of a 6-year-old patient with educational backwardness who presented to our hospital with a red, painful eye with decreased vision. Her best corrected visual acuity was 1/10 in both eyes. Slit-lamp examination of the right eye revealed anterior crystalline lens dislocation with central corneal oedema and high ocular pressure. The left eye had the same findings.

Sistem Pendidikan Suku Asli Melayu Kecamatan Bantan

This research is motivated by the fact that the Indigenous Malay people living in Bantan District can be considered isolated, remote, and inland, with limited access to educational facilities provided by the government. The Indigenous Malay people have become complacent with their current conditions and situation. The aim of this research is to determine the level of educational awareness among the Indigenous Malay people in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, and the factors contributing to their educational backwardness. Additionally, the research seeks to identify an appropriate educational concept to change the Indigenous Malay people's paradigm regarding the importance of education for their well-being. The method used in this research is qualitative research. The data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that educational participation among the indigenous community in Bantan District for primary education is relatively significant, reaching 80 percent of the total school-age children. For junior high school education, participation is also quite high at 65 percent. However, the participation rate for high school education is relatively low, at only 45 percent. Although primary education participation is generally good, there is still a significant dropout rate, with children often leaving school when they reach the third or fourth grade. Factors contributing to the educational backwardness of the Indigenous Malay people in Bantan District include peer influence from those not attending school, weak economy, low motivation, lack of parental encouragement, low self-confidence, and insufficient educational infrastructure. The educational concept proposed for the Indigenous Malay community in Bantan District is the Indigenous Education Concept. The indigenous learning system is a system used by traditional communities to maintain and preserve their social systems for their survival.

EXAMINATION OF THE IMPLICATION OF INFORMATION PROCESSING ON THE LIBRARY USERS LEARNING COMPREHENSION/SATISFACTION.

The paper looked at Information Processing Theory's implications for the Library users’ learning satisfaction. The study discussed the nature of information and asserted that the dissemination of information empowers learning since the world is increasingly becoming information-based. It looked at information processing as the standard for understanding and satisfactory learning against memorization, leading to poor academic performance as it does not allow what the learner has learned to be part of him. The study also discussed that the instructor, facilitator, teacher, lecturer, and users have a role to play in processing information that improves learning. What remains essential is the fact that users of information must be equipped with the skills, services the library renders to its users to ensure they are satisfied and methods that allow them to continually be relevant and viable in the face of changes that could be uncertain and enormous. For an enhancing success story to be recorded, issues that pertain to educational backwardness like strikes incidences that encourage ad-hoc teaching and learning should be addressed properly as this is a very significant militating factor on the scheduling of educational programs. The discussion concluded by presenting the human mind as having the capability to aid understanding, storage, and retrieval of learning materials, which are properly processed by the learners (library users’). Data were obtained by administration of 600 copies of questionnaire to final year students at the social Science library of the Readers Services while preparing for their Examination after resumption from COVID-19 pandemic crises/ ASUU strike. Accordingly, 600 questionnaire copies were distributed to final year students of Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Education, Geography, and Sociology. Only 467 usable copies were returned and analyzed for this descriptive survey study. The study revealed that out of the 467 respondents, 229 (49.03%) were males, and 238 (50.96%) were females. Results of the study revealed that respondents were aware of Information processing theory. From table 3 (objective 2), respondents have applied it to their studies without knowing the name as it exists; thus, the disagreement indicated that some students applied it differently from the ones listed in the study options. The study also revealed that they have benefited from it. The study concludes that users’ who applied this theory to their learning were satisfied when compared with previous methods. It was recommended that more research be carried out in this regard to allow respondents to point out other ways in which they have applied this information processing theory.
