Nanocellulose (NC) isolation from different types of agroindustrial wastes is emerging as ital. Field of research, because of its multifunctional applications. This work uses the VOS viewer software for extracting the agroindustry based nanocellulose production. This review specifically grasps the attention of scientists towards on valorization of agricultural wastes as sources for nanocellulose production. It also explores the variety of sources including vegetables, fruits, cereals and nuts. The ecological system is negatively influenced by the chemicals and its derived products; these products have caused the ecological imbalance. The demand for functional materials and fine chemicals made from natural resources is enormous. NC is considered as one of the promising green material and next generation renewable resource. Further, this work describes about the pre-treatment, characterization and synthesis of nanocellulose from agro-industrial waste using mechanical, chemical and enzymatic methods. It also elaborate the management of agricultural wastes for the purpose of reducing environmental impact, use of fossil based fuel resources, assuring the sustainable economic growth and close the circle of green economy and its resource use. In addition, the potential and versatile applications of nanocellulose from diverse industrial and agricultural sources were discussed.
