A new species and a new subspecies ofAsperula are described and discussed in regard to their affinities.

Towards a supplement for the Flora of Turkey

Summary Reasons are given for preparing a Supplement to the Flora of Turkey. Information included will cover recent revisions, taxa new for Turkey and the East Aegean islands, new grid-square records, changes in circumscription and nomenclature, and significant corrections to descriptions, keys and phytogeographical elements, etc. Appendices will include a list of chromosome numbers based on material of Turkish origin, and a bibliography of floristic literature. Problems of editorial responsibility are discussed, and Turkish collaboration, exploration and research are encouraged in order to increase our knowledge of the country's flora.

Origin of rhyolites by anatectic melting of granitic crustal rocks

Rhyolitic pumice deposits on some East Aegean Islands are the remnants of a tuff sheet which covered formerly more than 2500 km2. The rhyolites originated by melting of granitic crustal rocks.
