An extended dynamic link matching (DLM) model is presented for the fast creation of mappings invariant to position, scale, deformation and orientation, a process underlying various visual tasks that are fast and effortless for humans but are computationally very difficult. Structured interactions between synapses are represented by control units. Each control unit stands for a group of synapses that are consistent with each other in terms of relative position, scale and orientation. Specifically, it is shown in simulations how these high-order interactions between synapses lead to very fast DLM.
