ANALYSIS OF PRODUCTION FACTORS FOR GILLNET FISHING GEAR AT THE TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION UNIT (UPT) OF THE FISHERY PORT OF RIAU PROVINCE

Dumai City relies entirely on marine waters for its fisheries production, with gillnets being a predominant fishing gear among local fishermen. Gillnets, characterized by their rectangular shape with varying mesh sizes, utilize floats and weights. This study aimed to identify the factors influencing gillnet catches in Dumai City. Results from simultaneous testing revealed that all production factors significantly impact catch quantities. Through multiple linear regression analysis, it was determined which factors exerted positive and negative effects. The regression equation, Y = 0.108 – 0.183 X1 – 0.411 X2 – 0.345 X3 + 0.173 X4 + 0.116 X5 + 0.451 X6 + 0.181 X7 – 0.106 X8 + 0.223 X9, elucidated these relationships. The cumulative effect of production factors on catches amounted to 64.20%. This study provides valuable insights into optimizing gillnet fishing practices in Dumai City's marine environment.

INPUT OF DOMESTIC WASTE IN THE ESTUARY OF DUMAI RIVER AND MESJID RIVER INTO THE RUPAT STRAIT WATERS

The study was conducted in December 2022 in the Dumai River Estuary and Dumai City Mesjid River Estuary, Riau Province. The purpose of this study is to determine the amount and type of garbage that enters the sea through the estuary of the Dumai River and the Mesjid River, the difference between the amount and type of waste, and the difference between days from the garbage contained in the estuary of the Dumai River and the Mesjid River in Dumai City. The research method used is a direct survey method in the field, where data collection is carried out directly at low tide using a net stretched at the mouth of the river so that garbage is collected and trapped following the river's flow into the net. Based on the research conducted, it was found that the types of waste trapped were plastic, foamy plastic, cloth, paper, rubber, and wood. The amount of input and composition of waste in two weeks to the mouth of the Dumai River was 28,26 kg in the first week and 30,64 kg in the second week, while in the estuary of the Mesjid River, it was less, namely the first week as much as 20,59 kg, and in the second week as much as 19,44 kg. The difference between the amount and type of waste contained in the Dumai River and the Mesjid River for two weeks found that plastic waste occupied the most significant amount, namely 30,43 kg with a composition of 51,55% and 49,71 kg with a composition of 49,71% based on total waste input. The difference in waste input based on the day at the mouth of the Dumai River and the highest Mesjid River is found on Sunday, namely at the mouth of the Dumai River with a total waste of 27,79 kg and at the mouth of the Mesjid River with a total of 16,67 kg

CATCH COMPOSITION AND ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLINESS LEVEL OF SONDONG FISHING GEAR LANDED AT THE FISHERY HARBOR OF RIAU PROVINCE

Sondong fishing gear is one of the dominant fishing gear used by fishermen in the UPT Fisheries port of Riau Province Dumai City, which, when operated, can scrape to the bottom of the waters. The specifications of sondong fishing gear affect the catch. This study aimed to determine the composition of catches based on type, length, and weight and explain the level of environmental friendliness of sondong fishing gear that refers to the FAO 1995 CCRF criteria and Taeran 2014 subcriteria. The method used in this research is a survey method, which is conducted by conducting interviews and collecting data directly in the field, then analyzing it using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the composition of the main catch was white shrimp (Penaeus merguiensis), red prawn (P.monodon), and kelong shrimp (P. indicus). At the same time, the bycatch was white pomfret (Pampus argenteus), gulamah (Pseudocienna amovensis), gangetic anchovy (Thryssa mystax), malung (Muraenesox cinereus), stingray (Dasyatis sp), and crab (Portunus pelagicus). The environmentally friendly level of sondong fishing gear, with a value of 16.43 from the interviews with 23 respondents using 8 criteria, states that sondong fishing gear is a category of fishing gear that is not environmentally friendly.

Composition of gillnet catches based on network size at UPT Fishery Port of Riau Province

Gill net catches are one of fishermen's dominant fishing gear at UPT Dumai City Fishing Port. Gill net catches are easy to operate, have a low price, and are durable. This research was conducted in July-August at UPT Port of Fisheries, Riau Province. This study aimed to determine differences in gill net catches based on different mesh sizes. The method used is the survey method. The catch of gill nets by type with a mesh size of 2 inches is 25 fish species. Based on the weight and number of individual fish, it was dominated by lomek (Harpodon sp), namely 1,359.5 kg or 21.5% and 16,314 individuals or 27.18%. The catch in the 3-inch mesh size was 23 species of fish. The percentage of catches based on weight dominated by senangin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum) was 30.38% (1,353.5 kg), and based on the number of individuals dominated by pomfret of 18.72% (4,534 individuals). The main catches in gill nets at UPT Dumai are lomek (Harpodon sp), senangin (Polynemus sp), pomfret (Bramidae sp) and machete (Chirocentrus sp). The primary and bycatch yields for the 2-inch mesh were 51.58% and 42.42%, while the 3-inch mesh sizes were 57.99% and 42.01%.

SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYSIS OF RICE MARKETING ACTORS IN DUMAI CITY IN SUPPORTING URBAN FOOD SECURITY

Dumai City is a significant economic hub in Riau Province and a vital location for food distribution. Although it's an urban area, there is still a small amount of rice produced in Dumai City. However, most of the rice supply comes from various suppliers outside the region to meet the high demand. Due to this diverse supply chain, this study aims to analyze the structure, mechanisms, and performance of the marketing in the premium rice supply chain at each level of the marketing institution. This research was conducted using a survey method among marketing actors at each level of marketing institutions selected purposively. To analyze the structure and mechanism of the rice supply chain, qualitative analysis is used. Quantitative analysis is used to analyze marketing performance in the rice supply chain. The research method used was a survey of rice marketing institutions in Dumai City, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. The results show that three marketing institutions are involved in marketing rice in Dumai City, each with a unique supply chain. Upon analyzing the marketing performance of the premium rice supply chain, it was found that all marketing channels utilized by wholesalers and retailers are efficient. Among these channels, channel 3, supplier-wholesaler-end consumer, has the smallest margin value, while channel 2, out-of-town distributor-traditional retailer-end consumer, has the highest profit-cost ratio value of 125.67. This marketing channel offers the lowest price for premium rice at the end consumer level, thereby ensuring greater access to food for the community and promoting urban food resilience. Among these channels, channel 2 of retailers that were out-of-town distributor-traditional retailer-end consumers had the best marketing efficiency value (0,09%) and the highest profit-cost ratio value of 125.67. Based on the results of this research, it is a challenge for the development of local rice agro-industry in creating efficient marketing performance to strengthen regional food security.

The Relationship between the Use of Social Media and Creativity and the Sustainability of the Chili Cracker MSME Business in Dumai City

This research aims to find out (1) how the use of social media is related to the sustainability of the chili crackers MSME business in Dumai City. (2) and what is the relationship between creativity and the sustainability of the chili cracker UMKM business in Dumai City. This research is included in quantitative research. The population in this study were 20 Chili Cracker MSME businesses in Dumai City with a research sample of 15 Chili Cracker MSME businesses in Dumai City. The sampling technique is saturated sampling. The data collection techniques used were interviews, questionnaires and documentation. This research uses descriptive analysis techniques, normality tests and Spearman rank correlation statistical tests. The results of this research show (1) the use of social media has a positive and significant relationship with the sustainability of the chili cracker MSME business in Dumai City. (2) creativity has a positive and significant relationship with the sustainability of the chili cracker MSME business in Dumai City.

Implementation of History Teacher Competencies at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai City

A professional teacher does not only master one competency, but to be a professional teacher he must be able to master four competencies. History teachers should develop these competencies which are related to core competency (KI) 3 with the basic competencies contained therein instilling historical values. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai City. The type of research used was qualitative research. The data collection methods used in this research are field observations, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used in this research are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research approach used is a descriptive qualitative research approach. The findings and discussion in this research are firstly the perspective of History Teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai City regarding the importance of teacher competency and teacher competency that has been implemented well, secondly the implementation of history teacher competency at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai City, and thirdly the obstacles experienced in implementation Competency of history teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai City. The first conclusion is that the teacher's perspective regarding the competence of history teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai City is of the opinion that teacher competence is very important and has been well implemented. Secondly, the implementation of history teacher competence at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai City includes pedagogical competence, personality competence, social competence and professionalism competence, then the third is the obstacles experienced in implementing history teacher competence at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai City, including mastering the characteristics of students related to the teacher's ability to understand the condition of students, the curriculum transition adjustment period (the 2013 curriculum became the independent curriculum), the lack of numbers tools that support learning media, increasing professionalism for history teachers who have not participated in the PPPK program, apart from that the MMP is running ineffectively, and also obstacles in the lack of enthusiasm, attention and care of teachers in caring for students with diverse characteristics.

Determinasi Faktor Lingkungan Mikro Terhadap Sebaran Kasus Tuberkulosis Paru di Kota Dumai: Studi cross-sectional

Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the second leading cause of death worldwide, after COVID-19. This study investigated the prevalence and microenvironmental determinants of pulmonary TB in Dumai City, focusing on the urban areas. Using a cross-sectional approach in three areas with high, medium, and low rates of pulmonary TB, this study identified the ventilation, lighting, humidity, floor and wall material type, and occupancy density variables that influence pulmonary TB transmission. The results showed that inadequate microenvironmental conditions significantly contributed to the spread of pulmonary TB. Effective management of these microenvironmental risk factors is essential as a basis for public health interventions to reduce the TB prevalence in Dumai City.

PERSEPSI KONSUMEN TERHADAP BAURAN PEMASARAN KERIPIK CABE HJ.KARMI DI KOTA DUMAI

Business competition in chilli chips in Dumai City had a major impact on the UMKM Hj.Karmi Chili Chips, which experienced a decline in production due to decreased consumer demand. The large number of chili chip businesses in Dumai City require every business, especially Hj.karmi Chili Chips, to formulate the right marketing strategy in order to remain competitive in the target market, one of which is through a marketing mix strategy. This study aims to determine consumer perceptions of the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion, people, process, and physical evidence) of Hj.Karmi Chili Chips in Dumai City. This study used a survey method in the form of observations and interviews. Sampling using non-probability sampling method on accidental sampling with a sample of 40 respondents. The data analysis method uses descriptive analysis by describing consumer ratings from the Likert scale results. The results showed that overall, the seven elements of the marketing mix of Hj.Karmi Chilli Chips were rated as good by consumers. Price is the element that gets the highest rating score of 4.38 with very good criteria. While promotion is the element that gets the lowest rating score of 3.09 with good enough criteria. Based on the results obtained, it was concluded that Hj.Karmi Chili Chips had advantages in price, people, and process, and had weaknesses in promotion and physical evidence. So it is suggested for Hj.Karmi Chili Chips to improve the marketing mix strategy, especially in the promotion system and physical evidence or sales outlets.

STRATEGI LAYANAN DINAS PERPUSTAKAAN DAN KEARSIPAN KOTA DUMAI DALAM KEGIATAN STORYTELLING DI MASA NORMAL BARU

The library service is the backbone of the library. Without services, the collection of library materials cannot be optimally utilized. One of the services provided by the Library and Archives Department of Dumai City is storytelling services. Storytelling service is a service conducted to convey a story through words, pictures, photos, or sound. Challenges arising from the impact of the pandemic have resulted in the library services being less optimal. Nevertheless, the Library and Archives Department of Dumai City strategically conducts activities as a form of prime service to library users through innovative storytelling services. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. Data collection is done through observation and survey, including direct field monitoring and interviews with the research subjects. The research results state that the strategy and innovation of storytelling service activities during the pandemic are effectively carried out online by utilizing social media. When there are policies related to easing activities in the new normal, face-to-face interactions can provide a very interesting impression and receive a very positive response, even when adhering to health protocols.

Evaluation of the Implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policies in Dumai City, Riau Province, Indonesia

CSR as a form of corporate activity always demands social responsibility from companies. However, considering that the various types of CSR policies that currently exist have not been able to be implemented optimally by corporations, CSR policies need to be evaluated for systematic improvement. This research aims to determine the challenges companies face and how CSR policies can meet the policy evaluation criteria in Dumai City. This research uses qualitative research methods that explore challenges and evaluate CSR policies. Data analysis was conducted through the Nvivo 12 Plus application, sourced from interviews with each actor in Dumai City. This research found that the challenges companies face in CSR policies include the lack of a clear framework, lack of transparency and accountability, and difficulty balancing economic considerations with long-term needs. Then the evaluation of CSR policies in Dumai City is dominated by indicators of adequacy (21,62%) and equity (21,62%), followed by effectiveness (18,92%), responsiveness (16,22%), efficiency (13,51%), and accuracy (8.11%) which require optimal evaluation so that unclear rules regarding CSR policies can be improved systematically and able to achieve the important goals expected in the public sector.

Implementation of Compensation of Rights of Ownership on Land in the Development of Toll Road in Dumai City, Riau Province

This paper is based on the research in Dumai City in 2019. Frequently, in the implementation of land acquisition resettlement for general interest development emerged issue in compensation. The former land owner whose land has been used for development of toll road Pekanbaru – Dumai (in this matter is in Bagan Besar Urban Village, Dumai City) didn’t feel satisfied with the compensation they had received. In the Article 1 point 10 of the Law Number 2 of 2012 on Land Acquisition Resettlement for General Interest Development is regulated that Compensation is the adequate and fair compensation to the parties who has rights in the process of Land Acquisition Resettlement. This research is empirical legal research. The result of this research shows that principle of adequate and fair has not been implemented.

Tax Literacy, Tax Sanctions, Taxpayer Awareness and Quality of Tax Services on Taxpayer Compliance in Payment of Land and Building Taxes in Dumai City (Riau)

This research examines the influence of tax knowledge, tax sanctions, taxpayer awareness, and tax service quality on taxpayer compliance in paying land and building taxes. This research uses primary data with samples distributing questionnaires. The sampling with a total of 97 questionnaires distributed. The dependent or dependent variable in this research is land and building tax compliance. The independent variables in this research are tax knowledge, tax sanctions, taxpayer awareness, and tax service quality. Testing this hypothesis uses multiple regression. The results of the research show that tax knowledge has no significant effect on taxpayer compliance, tax sanctions have no significant effect on taxpayer compliance, taxpayer awareness has no significant effect on taxpayer compliance, and tax service quality has no significant effect on mandatory compliance tax.

Community Empowerment in the Bandar Bakau Eco-tourism Area, Dumai City

The Bandar Bakau Eco-tourism area is one of the well-known tourism products in Dumai City. As a tourism product, regional governance based on relying on community strength will be able to strengthen the economy in a sustainable manner, improve community welfare and preserve biodiversity. However, community strengthening still relies on patterns of cooperation with external parties from community groups. This research aims to analyze the stages of community empowerment in the Bandar Bakau eco-tourism area, Dumai City and analyze the obstacles to community empowerment. The concept used in this research is the concept of stages of community empowerment according to Wrihatnolo Dwijowijoto (in Bahri, 2019), which explains that community empowerment is a process and goal that includes awareness, capacity building and empowerment. The research method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach. The results of this research show that forms of community empowerment in the Bandar Bakau eco-tourism area, Dumai City are not yet fully running well because there are still forms of community empowerment that are still hampered, which can be seen in terms of the ability of the Bandar Bakau community who are not yet able to fully participate in the development and management of the area. tourism thereby influencing community empowerment. Sustainability analysis of socio-economic aspects of fishermen’s communities reviewed from the human development index in Dumai City

Dumai City is one of the cities in Riau Province, Indonesia, located in the coastal area. As an industrial and trade city, the fisheries sector in Dumai City is under intense pressure due to this marine activity. On the other hand, Dumai City has the second highest Human Development Index (HDI) value in Riau Province after Pekanbaru City. The high HDI status of Dumai City makes it attractive to study whether it is directly proportional to the HDI value of the fishermen community and its socioeconomic sustainability status. The survey method was used in this study. This study aims to analyze the sustainability status of Dumai City’s fisheries from social and economic aspects by considering HDI indicators in health, education, and economic aspects. This study uses two analysis methods: the calculation of HDI and sustainability status using Rapfish. The HDI value of the Dumai City fishermen community is 69,35. These results show that the condition of the Dumai fishermen community is still relatively low when measured by the HDI indicator. If examined based on sustainability analysis, the social and economic aspects of the Dumai City fishermen community are 39,56, with a less sustainable status.

Assessment of the utilization status of fourfinger threadfin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum) in the waters of Dumai City, Riau Province

One of the local fish species exploited in the waters of Dumai is fourfinger threadfin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum). The purpose of this research is to analyze the maximum sustainable yield, optimal efforts, and utilization levels of fourfinger threadfin. Data on catches and efforts were collected from the annual reports of the Department of Fisheries Dumai City over a period of ten years. The results of the analysis using the Walter-Hilborn model indicate that the maximum sustainable yield of fourfinger threadfin is 234 ton year-1, and the optimal effort (Eopt) is 404 unit year-1. The average utilization rate of fourfinger threadfin from 2014 to 2023 is 28 percent. The resource is currently moderately exploited (25-75%), indicating that the stock has been harvested close to its maximum sustainable yield value. It is advisable to increase fishing efforts without compromising the sustainability of fourfinger threadfin in the waters of Dumai City.

Prospective analysis of sustainable mangrove ecotourism development policy

The Bandar Bakau area of Dumai City is very strategic to be used as an international tourism development area, because Dumai City is located in the international trade cross-country area of the Melaka Strait. The impact of Dumai City being made a special economic zone is the destruction of mangrove areas, so that the environment becomes unsustainable. To maintain environmental sustainability, a policy is needed that combines tourism potential with environmental sustainability, such as an ecotourism development policy. Ecotourism has emerged as a sustainable approach to tourism development that emphasizes the conservation of natural resources and cultural heritage while promoting community engagement and economic growth. The aim of the research is to formulate sustainable ecotourism development policies. The method used is a mix method using prospective analysis. Prospective analysis can offer future-oriented policy frameworks for stakeholders to ensure environmental sustainability. The findings reveal stakeholders’ concern for mangrove areas through education and research, rich arts and cultural heritage, as well as tourism potential in Bandar Bakau Dumai, indicating that ecotourism-based area development policies are very possible to be developed sustainably.

Water governance puzzle in Riau Province: uncovering key actors and interactions

Abstract Sustainable water governance is crucial for addressing the global water crisis and ensuring access to clean water resources. In the Indonesian context, Riau Province faces significant challenges in providing sufficient clean water to its population. Collaborative approaches involving diverse actors have emerged as a potential solution to complex water governance problems. However, limited empirical evidence exists regarding the engagement and interactions of these actors in decision-making processes. This study focuses on Bengkalis Regency, Dumai City, and Rokan Hilir Regency, in Riau Province, using Textual Network Analysis (TNA) to identify key actors in local water governance. The findings of this study highlight: (1) The influential actors (nodes) identified by TNA consist of drinking water systems, financial arrangements, oversight mechanisms, environmental concerns, water accessibility, and eco-friendly water governance. These actors nuance the formation of local policies related to Durolis water governance. (2) The Riau provincial government is empowered to fund pipanization projects from the river to the cities. Meanwhile, local governments are given financial responsibility for pipanization in their respective regions. (3) Durolis water governance follows a centralized approach, with the provincial government acting as a facilitator when problems arise. Meanwhile, problem-solving is based on consensus between the regions as a decision-making tool.

Implementasi dan Analasis Keamanan Jaringan Pada STIA Lancang Kuning Dumai Menggunakan Port Scanning dan Firewall Tarpit

This study aims to implement and analyze network security at STIA Lancang Kuning Dumai in Dumai City using the port scanning method and tarpit firewall. The main purpose of this research is to identify security holes in the network and protect the system from threats that may arise. The method used in this research is the SDLC method. The results of the analysis show that the implementation of port scanning and firewall tarpit at STIA Lancang Kuning Dumai has succeeded in significantly increasing network security. The port scan was able to identify several security holes which were then able to be fixed and strengthened. Tarpit firewalls are also effective in inhibiting attacks by slowing down and limiting attacker access. This research makes an important contribution to securing the network at STIA Lancang Kuning Dumai and provides valuable guidance for similar institutions in strengthening their security systems. However, it is important to continuously monitor new technology developments and security threats to keep systems well-protected and ready for more sophisticated attacks in the future.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF MACROZOOBENTHOS ABUNDANCE WITH OIL AND METAL CONCENTRATIONS IN SEDIMENTS AROUND COASTAL WATERS INDUSTRIAL AREA OIL CITY OF DUMAI RIAU

Some studies say the pollution level in the waters oil industry in Dumai City, Riau. The level of pollution that occurs will affect the abundance of macrozoobenthos. This research aims to know the concentration of oil and heavy metals in sediments in the waters around the area of the Dumai City oil industry, knowing the effect of oil on the abundance of macrozoobenthos. This research method includes placement of research stations, observation and sampling, TSS sample analysis method, concentration oil in sediment samples, heavy metal concentrations of Pb, Cd, and Cu at sediment samples, macrozoobenthos abundance Analysis, and data analysis.
