A new simple method for the electrical stimulation of the dorsal nerve of clitoris is presented. Well-formed cortical somatosensory evoked potentials could be recorded in 12 continent adult females without nervous system involvement at a stimulus intensity of 4 times ‘sensory threshold’. The procedure was well tolerated by the subjects; the bulbocavernosus reflex responses were, however, not always obtainable at this stimulus intensity.
