The holmium doped titania nanoparticles are synthesized by precipitation method using titanium tetrachloride as a raw material. XRD for phase structure, DRS-UV absorption spectrum, FTIR presence of functional group, HRSEM with EDX morphological structure and presence of the elements in the synthesis material are assessed and the results evaluated. The study investigates the photocatalytic activity degradation of methylene blue dye under the visible light irradiation at different calcination temperatures enhancing the photocatalytic activity relatively with rise in temperature to 700°C parallelly records the inverse proportionality of photocatalytic activity with electron hole recombination through Photoluminescence spectra.
