Effects of d-amphetamine and restraint on the content of norepinephrine and dopamine in rat brain

Injection of d-amphetamine into rats caused a rapid reduction of norepinephrine content in brain; repletion occurred within 72 hr. Dopamine content of the brain was not affected. Restraint did not enhance the d-amphetamine-induced release of norepinephrine.
