Research on innovative visualization design of miao costume images in Qiandongnan under aesthetic perspective

Abstract In this paper, we take the images of Miao costumes as the research object, construct the color system of Miao costumes based on the aesthetics perspective, and take the color migration as the research content to realize the visualization and innovative design of Miao costumes. Firstly, typical Miao dress images are obtained by digital acquisition. Then, RGB and HSL color modes are used to extract the colors and mine the color association rules of Miao dresses to construct the color system of Miao dresses. Then, an image segmentation method based on the color system of Miao costumes is proposed to achieve color migration between the color regions of decorative patterns. Finally, the patterns in the dataset of Miao costumes in Qiandongnan are extracted. Based on the classification study, a systematic and in-depth analysis of the color performance of the pattern patterns is conducted to clarify their artistic and aesthetic forms. It is found that the colors of Qiandongnan Miao costume patterns are mostly high-purity and high-brightness colors, of which high-purity colors (7-10) account for the highest proportion, including 16 colors such as earth red, grape purple, pink, and big red, accounting for about 56.5% of the total. The proportion of high brightness colors (7-10) in the colors is the highest, including 13 colors such as beige, goose yellow, grape purple, peach red, etc., accounting for 68.1%. It can be seen from the use of hues in the dress patterns of the Miao people in Qiandongnan that they will match the colors of the patterns according to the “five colors” and highlight a certain color as the dominant color according to the theme. The whole is complete, full of variegated and strong ethnic flavor.

The image of the national landscape in the short novel “Pilgrimage” by Ivan Shmelev

The purpose of the study is to examine the peculiarities of the artistic embodiment of the national landscape image in the short novel "Pilgrimage" by Ivan Sergeevich Shmelev, a writer of the first half of the 20th century. The relevance of the study is determined by the apparently growing interest of modern literary and scientific circles in the rich creative heritage of the writer, the desire to reveal the originality, uniqueness and singularity of his talent, the versatility of the artistic world. The research methods used were descriptive, interpretative and biographical. The results of the literary analysis show that the image of the national landscape presented in the "Pilgrimage" by I. S. Shmelev has a two-dimensional structure, combining realistic and ideal levels. This is explained by the peculiarity of children's view of the world, as the image of nature is given through the prism of the child protagonist’s point of view. The treatment of the theme of the native landscape is based on the motif of beauty, updated in the setting of the young hero's admiration for the uniqueness, charm and elegance of the surrounding world. The author's discourse, included in the text, brings to the narrative features of idealisation, associated with the motif of memories of a bygone childhood and a homeland lost in social cataclysms. The image of Russian nature in "Pilgrimage" develops the motifs of silence, peace, joy, joyful admiration of nature, wonder, fairy tale and spirituality. The leitmotifs in the poetics of the work are the landscape images of sun, light, dazzling brilliance, which converge with the motif of joy and the image of "golden" childhood. In "Pilgrimage", the dominant colour is the rose-gold, white and blue scale, which shades the idea of the sacredness of God's world and echoes nostalgic motifs. The symbolic images of Easter and the motif of Easter joy introduce the theme of eternal life, salvation and resurrection into the text.

A Study on Variants of Status Unequal Coloring in Graphs and Its Properties

Let be a simple connected graph with vertex set and edge set . The status of a vertex is defined as ∑q≠pd(p, q). A subset of is called a status unequal dominating set (stu‐dominating set) of ; for every , there exists p in such that p and q are adjacent and st(p) ≠ st(q). Among the most admired, extensively explored, and extensively discussed topics in the field of graph theory is graph coloring. This article recommends a new research study on the topic of incorporating stu‐dominating set with coloring. Diverse coloring variants can be found in literature, some of which serve as inspiration is chromatic number, dominator coloring, color class domination, and colorful dominating sets. A novel study on the topic of incorporating stu‐dominating set with coloring is suggested in this article. The stu‐chromatic number, stu‐dominator coloring, stu‐color class domination, and colorful stu‐domination have thus been explored and investigated. For each parameter introduced, the minimum cardinality of certain standard classes of graphs, bounds, and characterization results was explored.

Primary Colour Detection in An Image

Primary Colour Detection in an Image, Traditional methods of color cast detection do not discriminate between images with true cast and those with dominant colors. This may result in an inaccuracy of the color cast measurement. In order to overcome the limitation of traditional methods, an approach based on image semantic is present. It can improve the accuracy and reliability of the detecting results by the means of recognizing and removing the dominant color objects · and analyzing the color distribution of the whole image. Class specific color detection is already implemented in some systems, but image classification usually relies on global image features only. The method of recognizing the dominant color objects is based on block-features and region-features by using K-Means Clustering in this project. It shows a significant improvement over previously achieved classification for a variety of critical image classes. The comparison of the results of the approach proposed to that of people shows that it is reliable and effective. This project proposes the use of Machine Learning Techniques and Deep Learning Algorithms.

Dominator coloring of Kneser graph

A dominator coloring (briefly DC) of a graph G is a proper coloring such that each vertex dominates every vertex of at least one color class (possibly its own class). The dominator chromatic number χd(G) of G is the smallest cardinality of color classes in a DC of G. By using Steiner triple systems, in this paper, we establish that the dominator coloring of the Kneser graph KG(n, 2) is n for n ≥ 5.

Effect of hCG and prostaglandin on ovarian, luteal development, and hormonal changes in embryo donor mares during the hot summer months in subtropics.

Commercial embryo flushing of horses has required hormonal management of both the donor and recipient mares throughout the breeding season. This study aimed to find out the effect of using human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and prostaglandin F2α (PG) on the ovarian and uterine dynamics and hemodynamics, estradiol (E2), progesterone, oxidants-antioxidants, and blood biochemicals in embryo donor mares during the hottest months of the year in a subtropical climate. Three Control estrous cycles of native mares (10-20 years; N = 10) followed by two treated cycles with hCG and PGF2α were examined daily from May to August using Doppler ultrasound with blood sampling. Circulating, progesterone (P4), total cholesterol, total proteins, albumin, haptoglobin, nitric oxide (NO), catalase, alkaline phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and myeloperoxidase were measured in blood serum. Days during the control estrous cycle impacted the dominant follicle (DF) diameter ( p < 0.0001), antrum diameter ( p < 0.0001), area ( p < 0.0001), antral area ( p < 0.0001), and color area % (p > 0.05), and corpus luteum (CL) diameter ( p < 0.0001). PG tended to impact DF diameter (p > 0.05) but influenced its antrum diameter (p < 0.05), color area (p < 0.05), CL diameter (p < 0.01), and area (p = 0.013). Days after hCG tended to impact DF antrum diameter (p > 0.05) and the antrum area (p > 0.05), but influenced CL diameter ( p < 0.0001). PGF2α and hCG increased uterine horn area (p = 0.016) and color area (p = 0.023), total cholesterol ( p < 0.0001), and NO ( p < 0.0001) levels but hCG increased the levels of myeloperoxidase (p < 0.005), total proteins (p < 0.001), and albumin ( p < 0.0001). Globulins achieved the highest level (p = 0.054) but the Albumin/globulin ratio reached a minimum value on Day 0 of the control mares ( p < 0.0001). PGF2α increased LDH ( p < 0.0001) and sharply declined (p = 0.028) progesterone. In conclusion, the treatment protocols of hCG and PGF2α showed minimal effects on the produced ovulating follicles and can be used during the summer season to manage embryo donor mares.

Quantitative and Qualitative Characteristic of Thin and Fat Tailed Sheep

This study aims to determine the Quantitative and Qualitative Characteristic of Thin and Fat Tail Sheep. The study starts from August 2023 until December 2023 in PT Juara Agroniaga Sejahtera, Jepangrejo Village, Blora City District, Blora Regency. The material used in this study was 39 Thin-tailed Sheep and 28 Fat-tailed Sheep aged 1-2 years. The variables measured where Quantitative data were body height (BH), body length (BL), chest circumference (CC), body weight (BW), and Qualitative data were fur color and horn. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation, and regression method. The results of this study showed that the correlation between body height (BH), body length (BL), chest circumference (CC) with body weight (BW) in DET and DEG were 0.62, 0.71, 0.72, 0.27, 0.69, 0.65 respectively. The results of this study showed that the regression between body height (BH), body length (BL), chest circumference (CC) with body weight (BW) in DET and DEG were BW = -14.03 + 0.71 BH; BW = -15.45 + 0.74 BL; BW = -21.95 + 0.65 CC and BW = 8.69 + 0.33 BH; BW = -6.76 ± 0.59 BL; BW = -19.43 ± 0.65 CC respectively. The results of this study showed that the dominant wool color pattern of DET is single white, 74.36% white, 15.38% black, and 5.13% brown and DEG is single white, 67.86% white, 14.29% black, and 7.14% brown. DET was 2.56% with horn then 97.44% without horn and DEG is 100% without horn.

Microplastics in the Water of Batang Anai Estuary, Padang Pariaman Regency, Indonesia: Assessing Effects on Riverine Plastic Load in the Marine Environment

Microplastic (MP) is one of the most dangerous contaminants due to its ecotoxicological impact on the aquatic environment, aquatic biota, and human health. Defined as particles less than 5 mm, these contaminants originates from either primary or secondary source. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the abundance, shape, color, size, and type of microplastic (MP) polymers. In the process, water samples were collected from 3 distinct points in the Batang Anai River, to obtain MP. Subsequently, analysis was conducted using a microscope and Attenuated Total Reflection-Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR). The results showed that the abundance of MP in the water samples ranged from 37-77 particles/L, and the most dominant shapes, colors, and sizes identified were fragments (49.44%), black (48%), and sizes &gt;1,000 µm (33%), respectively. Characterization and interpretation of functional groups in the FTIR spectrum indicated the presence of cellulose polymer, ethylene-propylene copolymer, neoprene, and polyester. In conclusion, this report can be used as initial information to help control plastic waste pollution.

Effect of breeding season and age on follicular dynamics and hemodynamics in embryo donor mares subjected to luteolysis after embryo flushing.

Mares are the only companion animals simulating women in the large diameter of their follicles. Horses start reproduction at the age of three years, and some of them live for >30 years, so aging influences their reproductive capacity. Mares are sensitive to summer heat stress as they can sweat like humans. The current work aimed to study the effects of age (young versus senile), season (cold versus hot), and the hormonal treatments during embryo collection on the dominant and subordinate follicular dynamics and hemodynamics and circulating ovarian hormones in embryo donor mares ovulated twice spontaneously before inducing ovulation for flushing embryos. Spontaneous oestrous cycles were studied for young mares (<10 years; N = 6) or senile (>20 years; N = 5) during months of the cold season (November to April) and hot season (May to August). In young embryo donor mares, oestrous cycles after inducing ovulation and luteolysis were studied using Doppler ultrasound. Estradiol (E2), progesterone (P4), nitric oxide (NO), total cholesterol, and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were measured in blood serum. A decrease in the dominant follicle antrum diameter (p > 0.05) and LDH (p = 0.016) was observed after inducing luteolysis in young embryo donor mares. Both human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and PGF2α treatments increased dominant follicle area (p = 0.0001), antrum area (p = 0.001), perimeter (p = 0.001), granulosa area (p = 0.0001), cholesterol (p = 0.0001), NO (p = 0.0001), and E2 (p = 0.0001). The dominant follicle area, antrum area, perimeter, color area, granulosa area, LDH, cholesterol, NO, and E2 increased (p = 0.0001) during the oestrous cycles of the hot season, but the circulatory % (p = 0.0001) declined. Senile mares had lower dominant follicle area (p = 0.002), antrum area (p = 0.0001), granulosa area (p > 0.05), LDH (p = 0.001), cholesterol (p = 0.0001), NO (p = 0.0001), and E2 (p = 0.0001) but higher circulatory % (p = 0.0001) and color area % (p = 0.023). The dominant follicle possesses the largest diameter, area, perimeter, granulosa area, and color area but the lowest circulatory % during spontaneous oestrous cycles, after inducing ovulation, or luteolysis with significant effects of the day of the spontaneous oestrous cycles on their dynamics and hemodynamics. During hot months, mares treated with hCG ovulated 24 hours later and prostaglandin-induced luteolysis was followed by new ovulation five days later. Follicles ovulated during the hot months were larger than those ovulated during the cold months and both had nearly the same color area %. Senile mares ovulated follicles with a lower area and antrum area but a higher color area %, so senile mares can be used as embryo or oocyte donors during the hot season.

Occurrence and characteristic of microplastics in suspended particulate, a case study in street of Yogyakarta

Microplastics (MPs) are increasingly recognized as emerging pollutants affecting the hydrosphere, geosphere, and atmosphere. One of the primary suspected sources of MPs is road dust in urban areas, with the majority originating from transportation, such as vehicle tires and road marking paint. MPs with a size of less than 5 mm can be ingested by humans from the air, and their potential effects remain largely undiscovered. There is still limited research on MPs in the air, particularly in Yogyakarta, one of the major cities in Indonesia. This study approach MPs as suspended particulates and, as such, employed a High Volume Air Sampler (HVAS) to collect air samples for Total Suspended Particulates TSP, PM2,5 and PM10 in four locations with high human activity and traffic volumes in Yogyakarta. A digital microscope was used to identify the number, shapes, and colors of the MPs. The results revealed 4576 particles of MPs in all the samples, with East Ringroad having twice the number of MPs compared to West Ringroad. The order of occurrence in terms of shapes was as follows: fragments (39%), films (37%), and fibers (25%). In terms of color, black was the dominant color of MPs, followed by brown and transparent. These results suggest a significant presence of black, fragmented-shaped MPs, which could indicate that most MPs in the ambient air near Yogyakarta’s roads originate from vehicle activity, consistent with previous findings. Furthermore, the high number of colored fibers and films may indicate packaging and fabric degradation in the surrounding area.

Leveraging K-Means clustering with the Within-Cluster Sum of Squares (WCSS) method, we showcase superior performance compared to traditional approaches. The evaluation of palette coherence using the Adjusted Rand Index (ARI) facilitates consistency within the generated color schemes. Integrating methodologies with design tools and advanced color harmonies opens avenues for further innovation and customization. This study underscores the transformative potential of image-based color scheme generation, bridging the gap between computational analysis and creative expression. Through the convergence of artistry and technological prowess, we aim to enhance the design landscape and enrich user experiences across various applications and industries.

Finding the Most Dominant Color in an Image using K-Means Algorithm Based on Machine Learning

Inheritance Pattern of Qualitative Character Traits in F2 Population of the Bara x Ungara and Dewata x Unggara Crosses

The purpose of this study was to estimate the inheritance pattern of qualitative character traits from the F2 population of the Bara x Ungara and Dewata cross. The study was conducted in the experimental garden of Unhas, Tamalanrea sub-district, Makassar, South Sulawesi. The quantitative character traits observed consisted of four characters, namely, the color of the flower corolla, the coloring of the immature fruit, the branching habit, and the nodal color. The results showed that the population of F2 crosses showed a purplish-green color (34) as the dominant color in immature fruits. Crosses with the Ungara variety exhibited a significant contribution to the color in the immature fruit. The variety of environmental and cultural conditions in each region in Indonesia causes differences in sheep rearing patterns, resulting in a variety of breeds, coat color patterns and types of horns of sheep being cultivated. The Bandung Regency area has a climate and environment that is suitable for raising livestock, so raising sheep has become a part of the culture in the area. Choosing flocks, coat color patterns and types of sheep horns that suit consumer needs can increase the selling value of sheep. The aim of this research was to determine the distribution of clump types, coat color patterns and horn types of local ewes in several animal markets in Bandung Regency. The research was conducted in June 2023 in three animal markets, namely Majalaya, Pacet, and Banjaran Animal Markets. The research method used is descriptive analytic and data collection uses the census method. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the distribution of local ewes includes Garut sheep 86.78% and Priangan sheep 13.22%, while the distribution of local ewes's coat color patterns is dominated by white 63.64%, a combination of 25.62%, and black 10.74%, as well as muser horn types 54.55%, hornless 33.88%, and horned 11.57%. Object Detection and Regression Based Visible Spectrophotometric Analysis: A Demonstration Using Methylene Blue Solution

This study investigates the estimation of the concentration of methylene blue solutions to understand if visible spectrophotometry could be performed using a smartphone and machine learning. The presented procedure consists of taking photos, detecting test tubes and sampling region of interest (ROI) with YOLOv5, finding the hue, saturation, value (HSV) code of the dominant color in the ROI, and regression. 257 photos were taken for the procedure. The YOLOv5 object detection architecture was trained on 928 images and the highest mAP@05 values were detected as 0.915 in 300 epochs. For automatic ROI sampling, the YOLOv5 detect.py file was edited. The trained YOLOv5 detected 254 out of 257 test tubes and extracted ROIs. The HSV code of the dominant color in the exported ROI images was determined and stored in a csv file together with the concentration values. Subsequently, 25 different regression algorithms were applied to the generated data set. The extra trees regressor was the most generalizing model with 99.5% training and 99.4% validation R2 values. A hyperparameter tuning process was performed on the extra trees regressor and a mixed model was created using the best 3 regression algorithms to improve the R2 value. Finally, all three models were tested on unseen data and the lowest MSE value was found in the untuned extra trees regressor and blended model with values of 0.10564 and 0.16586, respectively. These results prove that visible spectrophotometric analysis can be performed using the presented procedure and that a mobile application can be developed for this purpose.

Depth‐independent phenotypic variation of massive Porites coral color morphs

AbstractAs coral reefs continue to decline due to anthropogenic stressors, community characterizations will reveal both historical selection processes and adaptive potential to environmental change. To address the potential role of color in the distribution and resilience of massive Porites corals, we surveyed the distributions of two dominant color morphs (brown and purple), and a unique intermediate state, across a depth gradient in Guam, Micronesia. We found that brown colonies dominated populations across all depths, and larger colonies had higher rates of partial tissue mortality and active disease lesions. Despite the dominance of brown colonies, both brown and purple color morphs showed a high similarity in susceptibility, as indicated by the colony sizes, the severity of partial tissue mortality, and the prevalence of active disease lesions. This is a non‐intuitive result given the presence of phenotypic plasticity between color morphs, evident by an intermediate, transitionary stage between brown and purple colonies that suggests a functional divergence between one color over the other. The study also revealed the dominance of small colonies at depth, which provides some insight into the ecological impacts that may have shaped Guam's current massive Porites population size structure over the past several decades. With this, we provide foundational insight into the adaptive strategies and historical pressures that have shaped the modern massive Porites population.

An AIGC-empowered methodology to product color matching design

With the emergence of various generative AI applications, artificial intelligence-generated content (AIGC) demonstrates positive potential for design activities. However, few scholars have proposed a practical AIGC-based design methodology. This paper introduces an AIGC-empowered methodology for product color-matching design. ChatGPT generates target imageries describing the design features, and Midjourney constructs a shape sample database based on these imageries, identifying representative shapes through consumer perceptual questionnaires. Meanwhile, three Midjourney-based color image generation methods are proposed to generate color images that match the target imageries, and an application is developed to extract the dominant colors from these images. Finally, based on the color harmony theory, the optimal color combinations are derived from the extracted dominant colors and applied to the representative shape to generate color-matching alternatives. AHP-based expert evaluation (Evaluation_1) and consumer perceptual evaluation (Evaluation_2) are employed to ascertain the optimal design solution. This paper uses the household vacuum cleaner as an example to demonstrate the proposed color-matching methodology. Consistent evaluation results are obtained, supported by a significant Pearson correlation coefficient. Research findings suggest that AIGC has the potential to revolutionize traditional product color-matching design. Additionally, the methodology highlights the collaborative potential between generative AIs and conventional computer-aided design tools.

Abundance and Characteristics of Fibrous Microplastics and Microfibers Isolated in Mullus barbatus from the Adriatic Sea—Preliminary Investigation

Despite the wide distribution of textile microfibers in the marine environment, there is still limited knowledge on microfiber ingestion in fish species intended for human consumption, mostly due to analytical issues. The present study aims to assess the occurrence of microfibers in red mullet (Mullus barbatus) samples collected from the Italian waters of the central Adriatic Sea. M. barbatus is a bottom fish that lives in contact with sediment and therefore was proposed as a sentinel species for the monitoring plastic pollution. A visual approach based on the evaluation of specific microfiber surface morphology was applied for the identification of particles of different origins. The preliminary findings showed the presence of microfibers in 80% of red mullet samples with a mean of 5.95 microfibers/individual. The majority (&gt;80%) of the isolated microfibers were of natural/artificial origin, while the dominant colors were blue and black. The obtained results confirmed that benthic fish species are susceptible to microfiber ingestion and indicate the high availability of these particles in the Adriatic basin. Considering the spectroscopic drawbacks in microfiber analyses and the need to improve the current knowledge on the rate of contamination of fishery products, the visual approach could be a feasible, easy, and accessible method in the study of microfiber pollution, and the assessment of consumer health risks.

Underwater image contrast enhancement through an intensity-randomised approach incorporating a swarm intelligence technique with unsupervised dual-step fusion

ABSTRACT Analysing objects in an underwater medium is difficult due to light problems in such an environment. Low contrast and visibility in water medium result in restricted information extraction. Some previous methods inadequately reduce underwater colour cast and improve the image contrast minimally. This work proposes intensity-randomised underwater image contrast enhancement (IRUCE), an improved enhancement method that integrates an unsupervised dual-step fusion technique to reduce blue-green colour cast, improve contrast, and enhance image brightness, especially in turbid and deep underwater media. IRUCE enhances the inferior colour channels and moderates the dominant colour channel to reduce the colour cast before the intensity-randomised approach is implemented. The intensity-randomised approach is designed to effectively distribute image intensity across all intensity levels. Next, a swarm intelligence algorithm is fused to perform median equalisation on all colour channels. The median intensity values of inferior colour channels are shifted towards the dominant colour channel. The unsharp masking technique is employed in the last step to increase image sharpness. The effectiveness of this approach is validated through quantitative and qualitative evaluations, and the results are compared with those of other state-of-the-art methods. Outcomes indicate that the proposed method improves underwater image quality significantly and outperforms other contemporary techniques.

Bioaccumulation of microplastics in the edible tissues of fish collected from urban lakes of Bangladesh: a potential exposure to public health.

Microplastic (MP) pollution is an emerging environmental problem, due to its universal dispersion. In the present study, we determined the MP pollution in water, sediment, and fish samples of three different urban lakes of Bangladesh to assess the bioaccumulation of MPs from the lake environment to fish's edible (flesh) and inedible tissue (gut), ecological risk and consequent human exposure to MPs by fish consumption. A total of forty-three fishes were collected from Jahangirnagar Co-Operative Housing Society (JCHS), Dhanmondi Lake (DL), and Saturia Thana Lake (MST). The average MP concentration in sediment and water of the lakes is 7588 ± 4353 MPs/kg dry weights; 142 ± 22 MPs/L, respectively. MPs were identified in the edible (2.8-20.2 MPs/g) and inedible (2.27-20.93 MPs/g) tissue of all fish species. The highest number of MPs was observed in the flesh of Labeo bata of the JCHS Lake and in the gut of Catla catla of DL. The most dominant shape of MPs was fiber and fragment, 0.1-0.4 mm was the dominant size range, and blue, purple, and transparent were the dominant colors. The presence of six polymer types was revealed by FT-IR analysis, which were polystyrene, polypropylene, nitrile, ethylene vinyl acetate, high-density polyethylene, and nylon. The concentration of MPs in fish is found to increase with the increment in body weight. The bioconcentration factor (BCF) analysis reveals that among all the fish species, Labeo bata and Oreochromis mossambicus accumulate the highest number of MPs from the lake environment. The pollution load index of MPs indicates that the sampling sites were within hazard levels III-IV. Estimated annual intake reveals that humans will be exposed to the highest number of MPs if they consume the flesh of Labeo bata of DL and JCHS Lake.
