ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI KEBIJAKAN PENGENDALIAN PEMBUANGAN LIMBAH CAIR DOMESTIK KE BADAN AIR PENERIMA DI KABUPATEN PURWAKARTA

The implementation of the domestic liquid waste disposal control policy in Purwakarta Regency has not been implemented because there are no regulations regarding its management. So far, domestic wastewater is discharged directly into drainage channels / rivers due to the unavailability of facilities and infrastructure for domestic wastewater management, lack of public understanding of the impact of domestic wastewater on water pollution. In addition, there are no operational level regulations regarding the implementation of domestic wastewater management policies. The method used is a qualitative approach with information from policy implementers at the Environmental Agency and related sub-district. Analysis of policy implementation uses the George C. Edward III approach which includes communication, resources, dispositions and bureaucratic structures. The results showed that in order to solve the problem of implementing the domestic liquid waste disposal control policy, the Purwakarta Regency Government needs to carry out several actions in controlling domestic liquid waste disposal pollution to receiving water bodies. The steps that can be taken are optimizing the performance of limited human resources, provision of a budget, and cooperation between the government, the private sector and the community. Policy implementation can be carried out if Purwakarta Regency already has references including inventory data and identification of sources of domestic liquid waste pollutants, Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) for Domestic Wastewater Disposal Control, and regent regulations on domestic liquid waste management.

Analisis Air Buangan Kantin di Kampus II Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya

Canteen is a producer of domestic liquid waste that has the potential to cause pollution. Likewise with the student canteen, it has the potential to produce waste that causes environmental pollution if it is not treated properly. The use of Montecarlo software in this study is to support quantitative analysis in predicting potential pollution from Ubhara canteen waste with Crystall ball prediction. The results of laboratory analysis in the form COD, BOD dan TSS, showed that the quality of the canteen waste water did not meet the requirements for wastewater quality standard based on Ministry of Environment Decree No. 112 of 2003. Supported by the results of CB Predictor simulations showing the potential of pollution of the Ubhara canteen waste water to the environment continues to increase significantly, also seen from the Double Exponential Smoothing Method, producing MAD (Mean Absolute Deviation) 170.82, Theil's U 0.9951, and Confidence Interval Lower 5% and Upper 99.5%.

Science Development Alternatives (Labtek Apung) Environmental Concern in Ciliwung

Waste management and domestic liquid waste residual household activities such as bathing, washing, and defecation were not done well along the Ciliwung river, causing water quality to decline. Residents of Kampung Tanah Rendah, Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta, is still free-throw garbage and domestic household waste into the Ciliwung River. Waste management is not unified and usually carried by an individual or group by using the tool carrier in the form of a cart. Waste transportation costs are paid by the voluntary contributions of citizens. Most residents do not have bathroom facilities at home are reluctant to use latrines and still perform a routine to defecate on a bamboo raft floating raft river or familiarly called. Inspired by the citizens raft (getek) used for bathing, washing and activity, defecation, trash, and interact in Ciliwung, people consisting of adults and children are invited to get to know various kinds of water pollution. Adopting an idea of things that a citizen of the existence of the Ciliwung River on the raft, then made a scientific introduction of alternative methods such as “Labtek Apung” that implementation can be done independently or together and anywhere. Tests conducted is a test that is based on visual and organoleptic sensory processes. Parts of organs that play a role in sensing are the eyes as senses of sight, nose, and tongue as the sense of smell as a sensory taster. The scope of experiments on various kinds of water in the village is a test of physics, chemistry, and biological simple to use tools and materials that are easily found in the home. Simple physics test to see the physical shape, smell, color, and taste of the water. Simple chemical testing to see on the water hardness using the tea and simple biological test is performed to determine the existence of microorganisms that live in the water. The introduction of scientific alternatives to the residents, especially the children through these activities, would make scientific terms such as levels of turbidity, acidity, disorders of harmful microorganisms that normally can only be understood by most people with a specific background in the laboratory, to be made easier to understand. It is expected that after this event took place, residents are targeted to raise awareness of environmental problems that occur.

Prediction Spatial Model of Domestic Liquid Waste Distribution in Sawojajar Village, Malang City of Indonesia

The distribution of domestic liquid waste is difficult to identify and mark because it is spread. However, it is very necessary to obtain a picture of the spread of pollution and take further management steps. This research is carried out to predict spatially the level of pollution of domestic wastewater that will be used to prevent further pollution. The research was conducted in the Sawojajar Village District of Malang. The results based on the population approach show that population growth greatly influences the distribution of domestic wastewater. The relatively small population growth shows a different distribution pattern which the increasing number of populations will affect the distribution of domestic liquid waste.

Bacterial Isolation Which is Potential as Cellulosa Pedegradation in Coastal Performance In Tanjungpinang City

Many black water or feces and urine field observations in Tanjung Pinang City were dumped directly into the ditches, rivers, and sea. This proves that the management of domestic liquid waste in the City of Tanjungpinang, especially black water, has not yet received serious attention, resulting in a decline in environmental quality. One of the stages in processing black water is decomposition. The decomposition process can be assisted by bacteria, one of which is cellulose-degrading bacteria. This study aims to find bacterial isolates that have the potential to degrade cellulose in feces from coastal soils in Tanjung Pinang City. This research is a laboratory experimental research. The results of this study were obtained 16 bacterial isolates that can degrade cellulose. From these 16 isolates, 3 genera of bacteria were obtained, namely Pseudomonas, Acetobacter and Acinetobacter. Keywords: Cellulose Degradation Bacteria, Coastal Soil

Analisis Penurunan Parameter Limbah Cair Laundry Menggunakan Rotating Biological Contactor (Rbc)

Laundry waste water is a part of domestic liquid waste and its classified as grey water. Liquid waste from laundry business containing pollutants such as BOD, COD, TSS, Total Phosphate, and Methylene Blue Active Substance (MBAS) that can give negative impact to the environment if it is not treated first. The purpose in this study was to analyze the influence of detention time to eficiency of decreasing pollutant concentration by using Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) methods. The RBC used the palm fiber as the media. Variation of detention time in this study was 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15 days. Linear regression was used to analysed the effect of detention time to pollutant concentration decreased. The result showed that the elimination efficiency of BOD, COD, TSS, Total phosphate and MBAS was 88%, 87%, 87%, 88% and 96%. The regression analysis results showed that there was a significant relationship between detention time and efficiency of decreasing pollutant parameters concentration (BOD, COD, TSS, Total Phosphates) of laundry waste by using RBC, but has no significant relationship in MBAS parameter.

Identification of Domestic Liquid Waste Sanitation Conditions in an Effort the Improvement of Sanitation in Karanganyar

Domestic liquid waste sanitation conditions in Karanganyar is the circumstances or description of the environment sewage from household activity results in particular black water located in Karanganyar. Identification purposes is to provide information about the condition of domestic waste sanitation in Karanganyar, which is necessary to address insecurity about sanitation. Karanganyar is a Regency which have abundant areas prone to sanitation. Karanganyar has 177 villages with poor sanitation conditions following six villages at risk is very high, 77 Villages at high risk, medium risk and the village of 54 40 Villages are less risky. Sanitary conditions are influenced by various factors, among others, the type of means of sanitation and the quantity of domestic waste generated per person in district at Karanganyar. Type of sanitation facility that is in the community's variegated Karanganyar Regency such as cubluk, jumbleng, septic latrines with goose neck and WC sit with septic tanks. Socio-economic conditions determine the type of selected community sanitation. According to the BPS, the number of poor households in Karanganyar of 5 rating is the largest Sub Gondangrejo, Mojogedang, Jumapolo, Kebakkramat and Karanganyar. From the results of the sample population of 285 quisioner the respondent inhabitants in Karanganyar earned a percentage of population in a town is not served by sanitation more than 60% as follows Jenawi 94.1%, Karangpandan 78%, Jumapolo 75.1%, Karanganyar 70.8%, Jatiyoso 70%, Mojogedang 65.4%, Jumantono 63%, Kebakkramat 62.5% dan Ngargoyoso 61.2%. The results of the identification that Kecamatan prone concluded that sanitation, thus requiring handling domestic waste processing to improve sanitation in Karanganyar Regency. The selected processing system and is expected to effectively, efficiently and in accordance with the socio-economic conditions of society as well as the sustainable.

Waste management for achieving sustainable management of water and sanitation in Universitas Sebelas Maret Indonesia

Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) is the biggest university in Surakarta Central Java Indonesia, which was established on March 11th, 1976 through Presidential Decree No. 10 of 1976. Commitmen of UNS toward Green Campus began in 2012 by Rector Decree 7nd of August 2012. Land size of UNS, whis is only 60 ha becomes constraints in development of Green Campus Initiatives. In 2030 agenda of Sustainable Development Goals gives attention to huge increased of urbanization thus cities and human settlements face the problems of high density, economies of agglomeration link economy, energy, environment, science, technology and social and economic output [2]. The Problem of Water and Sanitation becomes big issues of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is stated in the Goal 6 out of 17 Goals. Goal 6 not only addresses Clean water sanitation and health but also quality and sustainability of water resources all over the world. Universitas Sebelas Maret is one of Campus in Indonesia, which has awareness toward water and sanitation, especially related to the problem of waste. Liquid waste has become problems for a long time in UNS, when domestic liquid waste has come from residential areas surrounding campus passed through the lake in campus before finally flowing to Bengawan Solo River. This causes euthropication and sedimentation of the lake of UNS, which had impact on extremelly decreased the function of the pond estetically and functionally. By partnership with the Ministry of Public Works anad Spatial Planning in 2017, UNS has built Integrated Waste Water Treatment, which treats domestic liquid waste from residential area surrounding campus and internal campus becomes recycled clean water. In spite of that, UNS also treats organic waste of fall leafs through composting units and manages chemical hazardous waste according to the Indonesian regulation issued by Ministry of Environment. Several efforts of UNS related to Waste Management have contribution to achieving SDGs especially Goal 6: ensure availability and sustainable management of water a sanitation for all [2]. This contributes for improving water quality by reducing pollutions, dumping, minimizing chemical hazardous waste, increasing recycled and safe reuse of water on Campus.

Operation description and physicochemical characteristics of influent, effluent and the tertiary treatment from a sewage treatment plant of the Eastern Region of Cyprus under warm climates

Urban wastewater systems, having sewer system, wastewater treatment plant and receiving water as their main elements, can be found throughout the world. Many of them are operated with little or no control. Characterization of municipal wastewaters has been the subject, or the indispensable starting point, of many studies. This paper (as there are a few studies available in the literature) deals with the operation description and characterization of the phases of influent (municipal and mainly domestic liquid waste), the secondary treated sample (effluent) and the tertiary as well as the characterization of the sewage sludge from the sewage treatment plant (STP) of the Municipalities of Paralimni and Ayia Napa in the eastern of Cyprus. Hazardous effects of sewage water on the environment

PurposePakistan is an agricultural country having the world's largest canal irrigation system. Indus basin that covers 70 percent of irrigated area for crop production is the major source of water in the country. Owing to rapid increase in population and uncertain environmental conditions, this water is not adequate to cope with the crop water requirement and needs additional means to provide extra water for agricultural purposes. The main source of irrigation is canal and ground water but the quality of ground water is so poor for the sustainability of agriculture system. To cope with the present demand, use of municipal sewage water that consists of domestic liquid waste, as well as industrial effluents, is becoming a common practice. The present study aims to reflect the hazardous effects of sewage water on the environment, with the main focus on heavy metals and chemical composition of soil and vegetables.Design/methodology/approachIndustrial effluent was collected from one ghee mill, one flour mill, three textile industries and three hosieries located in Faisalabad, an industrial city of Pakistan highly affected with water pollution. All water samples were analyzed for pH, EC, SAR and RSC. Water analysis was also carried out for various nutrients and heavy metals (K+1, P2+, Fe2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Ni2+ and Pb2+). Soil samples from various depths (0‐15, 15‐30, 30‐60, 60‐90 and 90‐120 cm) were taken to analyze for EC, pH, SAR, Na+1, SO4, K+1, P2+, Fe2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Ni2+ and Pb2+ after irrigation with canal water and sewage water. Cadmium, lead and copper concentration was determined in various vegetables grown in areas irrigated with canal water and industrial effluents to determine their final concentration in the final product ultimately affecting the human health.FindingsAlthough the sewage water is a source of many nutrients, it also includes a significant amount of heavy metals like Fe2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Ni2+, Pb2+ and pathogens. Extensive use of this effluent for irrigation purpose has resulted in an upsurge of such metals in soils and various crops, which ultimately resulted in clinical problems in human beings.Originality/valueThe present study reflects the composition of sewage water and heavy metal accumulation in soil, as well as crops. It further highlights the different potential hazards to humans due to these contaminants.

From conventional to advanced environmental sanitation

The basic concept of collecting domestic liquid waste in water-borne sewer systems goes back more than 100 years and became in the last century the conventional approach to sanitation in urban areas. Over the years, these sewage disposal systems had to be successively upgraded by additional sewage treatment plants increasing investment, operating and maintenance costs. Although these conventional sanitation systems could improve significantly the public health situation in those countries who could afford to install and operate them, it is highly questionable, if they are economically and ecologically sustainable. The large number of people in the developing world who still do not have access to adequate sanitation is a clear indication that the conventional approach to sanitation is not adapted to the socio-economic condition prevailing in most countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America. Advanced environmental sanitation is aiming not only to protect public health and the integrity of aquatic ecosystems but also to conserve precious freshwater and non-renewable resources. The Bellagio Principles and the Household Centred Environmental Sanitation Approach (HCES) are suggested as guiding principles and a new approach for planing and designing advanced (sustainable) environmental sanitation systems.
