Experiencing Sound Installations: A conceptual framework

We propose a conceptual framework for describing and documenting sound installations from a visitor’s point of view. In the form of a taxonomy, the framework includes four complementary perspectives: sound sources, sound design approaches, visiting modalities and visual aspects. Its elaboration was informed by a review of contemporary sound installations in Quebec as well as a literature review on conceptual and theoretical frameworks on sound art and sound installations. Compared with existing frameworks, the taxonomy is useful for describing and comparing sound installations across meaningful perspectives from a visitor’s stance. To illustrate the potential benefits of the taxonomy and the diversity of installations it can portray, we provide a comparative analysis of four contemporary sound installations from different perspectives. We conclude with the use of this taxonomy for documentation purposes.

The Core sets of International Classification of Function and Disability in Physical Therapy

To delineate a common language for describing Functioning and dysfunctioning of individuals with various health condition to be used by health care professionals all over the world, the International classification of function and disability (ICF) also known as ICF model has emerged as a multidimensional classification system which is based on biopsychosocial model of health system1. ICF model addresses many issues related to various disciplines of Rehabilitation specially Physical therapy2. In Physical therapy ICF model is utilized for making decisions ensuring to cover all aspects of human health and functioning, for documentation purpose as well as to enhance communication by agreeing upon the same standardized terminologies2.

Reflected near-infrared photography: Digging deeper into post-mortem examination

AimThis research aims to investigate the utility of the Near Infra-Red (NIR) photographic technique in visualizing forensic evidence in a post-mortem examination. Material and methodsA total of twenty-six deceased (male: n = 15; female: n = 11) were brought to the Mortuary of King George's Medical University, Chowk, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India (226003), and were used to investigate the applicability of the human visible spectrum (HVS) & near-infrared photography. In the investigation, a modified Nikon D5300 crop-framed digital single-lens reflex camera was used for NIR Photography in combination with a Micro-Nikkor 105 mm, f/2.8, (Nikon Inc., Melville, NY, USA), Hoya R72 (760nm–860nm) infrared filter and a Nikon D5600 crop-framed digital single-lens reflex camera in combination with Nikkor 50mm lens for Human Visible Spectrum (HVS) Photography. ResultsThe finding of the study reported that the application of the NIR photography would be the best of the investigative techniques for visualization and photo-documentation of forensically relevant post-mortem findings, such as - trace evidences (e.g., blood spots & soil particles on dark clothing), in external findings (e.g., contusion on victim's body) also for internal findings in a road traffic accident (RTA), gunshot, and drowning victim (e.g., mud particles in the trachea of drowning victim & localizing contusion of the scalp in road traffic accident cases). ConclusionHuman visible spectrum (HVS) photographs taken with Nikon D5600 provides substantial evidence for documentation purpose, the best results for trace evidence & contusion visualization in Post-mortem examination of the deceased were achieved with the NIR Photography in combination with indirect sunlight & room light as an infrared light source. (At a wavelength of 760nm–860nm).

Capturing and incorporating expert knowledge into machine learning models for quality prediction in manufacturing

Increasing digitalization enables the use of machine learning (ML) methods for analyzing and optimizing manufacturing processes. A main application of ML is the construction of quality prediction models, which can be used, among other things, for documentation purposes, as assistance systems for process operators, or for adaptive process control. The quality of such ML models typically strongly depends on the amount and the quality of data used for training. In manufacturing, the size of available datasets before start of production (SOP) is often limited. In contrast to data, expert knowledge commonly is available in manufacturing. Therefore, this study introduces a general methodology for building quality prediction models with ML methods on small datasets by integrating shape expert knowledge, that is, prior knowledge about the shape of the input–output relationship to be learned. The proposed methodology is applied to a brushing process with 125 data points for predicting the surface roughness as a function of five process variables. As opposed to conventional ML methods for small datasets, the proposed methodology produces prediction models that strictly comply with all the expert knowledge specified by the involved process specialists. In particular, the direct involvement of process experts in the training of the models leads to a very clear interpretation and, by extension, to a high acceptance of the models. While working out the shape knowledge requires some iterations in general, another clear merit of the proposed methodology is that, in contrast to most conventional ML, it involves no time-consuming and often heuristic hyperparameter tuning or model selection step.

Enter and Discuss Orders and Prescriptions (EPA 4): A Curriculum for Fourth-Year Medical Students.

Order entry, entrustable professional activity (EPA) 4, is one of several EPAs that residency program directors identify as a weakness for PGY 1 residents. A multispecialty survey of program directors indicated that only 69% of interns could be trusted to enter and discuss orders and prescriptions without supervision. To address this gap, we developed a formative workshop for fourth-year medical students. Prior to the start of their subinternships, 366 fourth-year medical students engaged in an order entry workshop. Students performed chart reviews on electronic standardized patients within an educational electronic health record (EHR), placed admission orders, customized order sets, responded to safety alerts, utilized decision support tools, and incorporated high-value care considerations. Students used expert-validated rubrics to assess the quality of their admission orders and participated in a facilitated group discussion on key learning points. Finally, students participated in order entry, with all orders requiring cosignature by a supervising physician, during their clinical rotations. Students reported their confidence with order entry before and after the workshop and after the clinical rotation. One hundred seventeen students completed the pre- and postworkshop surveys, and 99 went on to complete the postcourse evaluation. Students showed a statistically significant increase in their confidence level following the workshop. Order entry is a critical, complex skill that requires deliberate instruction. This curriculum, which leverages the features of an educational EHR, can facilitate instruction, practice, and confidence gains regarding order entry prior to further application of these skills in the clinical environment.

Utilization of Terrestrial Laser Scanner Technology for Analyzing Shape of Dutch Cave (Bandung, West Java)

Technological developments in the field of surveying and mapping remain in progress. One technology that provides precise and accurate results is the terrestrial laser scanner (TLS). This technology can generate millions of points in a short time and represent objects in 3D. TLS technology has become famous for heritage documentation purposes due to its ability to obtain detailed geometry and information from maintaining historic buildings. This research is in the Dutch Cave, Djuanda Forest Park, Bandung, West Java, to map and document 3D. To produce accurate data, frame measurements were carried out using a total station, GNSS, which ended with acquisition using TLS. The registration method used is the target-to-target method. The goal of this research is to create as-built drawings of the Dutch Cave in analyzing the Dutch Cave's form in greater detail. This investigation determined that the Dutch Cave measures 124.435 meters in length and has a height difference of 69.7 cm between the entrance and the exit. The as-built drawing of the Dutch Cave illustrates that the shape of the cave varies from entrance to exit. There is a cave chamber that widens by 18.8 cm toward the cave's center and narrows by 20.7--32 cm toward the cave's exit. The Dutch Cave has a slope of between 1 and 5 degrees. The Dutch Cave 3D data can be used for a documentation archive for the Djuanda Forest Park.

A Comparative Study of Ogu Mase Music of Akarakumo and Lagon-Thogli in Badagry

This is a comparative study of Mase music in two Ogu communities; Akarakumo and Lagon-Thogli in Badagry, Lagos State, Nigeria. Issues relating to the origin, relevance, structure, form, and development of Mase music in both communities were investigated for documentation and archival purposes. Data is drawn from oral interviews, participant observation and available literature. Respondents were selected among leaders and members of the visited Mase groups. Selected samples of Mase songs were transcribed into staff notation and analysed for documentation. The study revealed that Mase music and its variants were created by Yedenou Adjahoui from the Republic of Benin. The instrumental ensemble of Mase music includes Apotin, Aze, Alekle-daho, Alekle-pevi, Apesin-daho, Apesin-pevi, Ogan, Aya and hand clapping.

This study aims to examine the text on the critique of the hadiths of Imam Mahdi presented in a study in a whatsapp group: Belajar Hadis Yuk. Studying hadith is a special study of hadith whose material is delivered virtually. The research method used is qualitative research. The data search technique in this study uses observation and documentation, the purpose of observation and documentation in this study is the delivery of material whatsapp group: Belajar Hadis Yuk entitled criticism of Imam Mahdi's hadiths. The data analysis technique of this research uses a manuscript study of the text presented in the study of hadith learning. The results of this study indicate that: Hadith study on whatsapp group Belajar Hadis Yuk talk about the Criticism of Hadiths Imam Mahdi has provided insights on group members who do not study hadith in a special institution. The study can be accessed virtually via google meet discussing the critique of the hadiths of Imam Mahdi.

A software-based approach for calculating spatially resolved radiation exposure for structural radiation protection in nuclear medical imaging

The objective of the work described is the development of a software tool to provide the calculation routines for structural radiation protection from positron and gamma emitters, for example, 18F. The calculation of the generated local annual dose in the vicinity of these radioactive sources supports the engineering of structural measures necessary to meet regulatory guidelines. In addition to accuracy and precision, a visual and intuitive presentation of the calculation results enables fast evaluation. Finally, the calculated results are presented in a contour plot for design, evaluation, and documentation purposes. A python program was used to provide the calculation routines for structural radiation protection. For simplicity, the radiating sources can be considered as point sources. The attenuation of structural elements can be specified or, in the case of lead, calculated by virtue of its thickness. The calculated attenuation for the lead shielding is always slightly underestimated, which leads to a marginally higher calculated local dose rate than would be physically present. With the conservatively determined value, the structural radiation protection can be optimised in accordance with the general rule of as low as reasonably achievable. The pointwise comparison between the software results and the standard procedure for calculating the dose of points in space leads to similar values. In comparison with the general approach of calculating single representative points in the radiation protection area, the visual and intuitive presentation of the results supports the design and documentation of the measures required for structural radiation protection. In the present version of the software, the local dose rate and local annual dose are overestimated by a maximum of 4.5% in the case of lead shields. The proposed software, termed RadSoft, was successfully used to develop the structural radiation protection of a controlled area for hybrid magnetic resonance - positron emission tomography imaging, with the focus herein being on the requirements for PET.

The Impact of Structured and Standardized Documentation on Documentation Quality; a Multicenter, Retrospective Study

The reuse of healthcare data for various purposes will become increasingly important in the future. To enable the reuse of clinical data, structured and standardized documentation is conditional. However, the primary purpose of clinical documentation is to support high-quality patient care. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of increased structured and standardized documentation on the quality of notes in the Electronic Health Record. A multicenter, retrospective design was used to assess the difference in note quality between 144 unstructured and 144 structured notes. Independent reviewers measured note quality by scoring the notes with the Qnote instrument. This instrument rates all note elements independently using and results in a grand mean score on a 0–100 scale. The mean quality score for unstructured notes was 64.35 (95% CI 61.30–67.35). Structured and standardized documentation improved the Qnote quality score to 77.2 (95% CI 74.18–80.21), a 12.8 point difference (p < 0.001). Furthermore, results showed that structured notes were significantly longer than unstructured notes. Nevertheless, structured notes were more clear and concise. Structured documentation led to a significant increase in note quality. Moreover, considering the benefits of structured data recording in terms of data reuse, implementing structured and standardized documentation into the EHR is recommended.

Community-based Approach to Collection of Oral History for Documentation of Kelaakrè, An Ancient Citadel in Kurdistan

Many archaeological sites particularly in the mountainous areas of Kurdistan Region of Iraq have limited archaeological documentary records despite their historic significance. Among these is KelaAkrè, a local term for an ancient rocky hillfort dating back to the Assyrian Empire period. This pilot study aimed to document the history of Kela Akrè and its connection to the lower historical Akre town through collection of oral history from the local people in an attempt to establish a historical background research for this monument. Rare availability of literature about this site necessitates collection of oral history from the living memories especially of the elderly local people who have witnessed or remember the past events. Two approaches of oral history interviewing (rifle and shotgun) were used for collection of rich historical information that will serve as a helpful tool for documenting KelaAkrè. Narratives about this site and the historical Akre town explored not only the physical structures but also their functions and uses in addition to the relationships among the existing historical monuments. The community-based approach to collection of oral history about Kela Akrè has proved to be instrumental in compiling useful information that can be documented for future documentation purpose

Risks and benefits of dermatological machine learning health care applications-an overview and ethical analysis.

Visual data are particularly amenable for machine learning techniques. With clinical photography established for skin surveillance and documentation purposes as well as progress checks, dermatology is an ideal field for the development and application of emerging machine learning health care applications (ML-HCAs). To date, several ML-HCAs have detected malignant skin lesions on par with experts or found overlooked visual patterns that correlate with certain dermatological diseases. However, it is well established that ML-HCAs come with ethical and social implications. Currently, there is a lack of research that establishes model design, training, usage and regulation of such technologies sufficient to ensure ethically and socially responsible development and clinical translation, specifically within the field of dermatology. With this paper, we aim to give an overview of currently discussed ethical issues relating to dermatological ML-HCAs. On the basis of a thematic, keyword-based literature search, we performed an ethical analysis against established frameworks of biomedical ethics. We combined our results with current, relevant normative machine learning ethics literature to identify the status quo of the ethics of ML-HCAs in dermatology. We describe the benefits and risks of dermatological ML-HCAs that are currently being developed for clinical purposes. The potential benefits range from better patient outcomes to better knowledge accessibility to decreasing health care disparities, that is, standards of care between different population groups. The risks associated with ML-HCAs range from confidentiality issues to individual patient outcomes as well as the exacerbation of prevalent health care disparities. We discuss the practical implications for all stages of dermatological ML-HCA development. We found that ML-HCAs present stakeholder-specific risks for patients, health care professionals and society, which need to be considered separately. The discipline lacks sufficient biomedical ethics research that could standardize the approach to ML-HCA model design, training, use and regulation of such technologies.

Educational program on nurses attitude toward documentation in Al-Furat Alawsatt teaching hospital

Nursing documentation's purpose is to show that an organization maintains thorough written record of its planning, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of patient care, as well as to serve as a source of information for new nurses and maybe for nursing theory development.It contains all written information related to the patient's condition and needs.From September 21, 2020 to March 7, 2022, the researcher at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Teaching Hospital in Al-Najaf City used a quasi-experimental design with two groups and two evaluation stages to assess the effectiveness of the educational program in improving attitudes, and practices related to nursing documentation. A total of (50) nurses were randomly assigned to two groups and enrolled using non-probability deliberate selection procedures. To the control group,which maintained the same level of attitudes, and practices with a modest decline in nursing documentation attitudes, and practices. Furthermore, the education program was shown to be effective in increasing nurses' documentation attitudes, and behaviors, according to the study. Furthermore, a method like this is useful in shielding nurses from being documented.Based on the above-mentioned findings, the current study suggest that the Ministry of Health should consider nurses’ benefits.

OA43 Development of a national across specialty multi-disciplinary team for management of hyper-inflammatory conditions during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic

Abstract Background/Aims Effective multi-specialty team working is extremely beneficial in management of children with hyper-inflammatory conditions. With the recognition of paediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome (PIMS) it became apparent a standardised process for discussion of patients would be beneficial. This includes urgent discussion, with access to multiple specialties, and sharing knowledge and experience in a novel condition. Delivering equitable healthcare including access to expertise, specific treatments and research is challenging in Scotland due to its geography. This is facilitated by successful clinical networks (Scottish Paediatric &amp; Adolescent Rheumatology Network [SPARN] and Scottish Paediatric&amp; Adolescent Infection &amp; Immunology National Managed Clinical Network [SPAIIN]) and a well-established paediatric transport service (ScotSTAR). Our aim was to develop a multi-specialty multi-disciplinary team (MDT) for management of patients with hyper-inflammatory conditions. Methods Narrative account of MDT and service development Results We identified a core group of individuals with an interest in inflammatory disorders from different centres and specialties across Scotland including Rheumatology, Infectious Diseases, Cardiology, Intensive Care, Academic Paediatrics, Pharmacists and Clinical Nurse Specialists. Three priorities emerged from initial planning stages: urgent discussions around patient management, peer-to-peer learning and information sharing, and effective prioritisation of research. We designed a written framework and referral pathway, including criteria for acute cardiology involvement, ScotSTAR transfer and intensive care. An electronic proforma was designed to guide MDT discussion, medico-legal documentation and audit purposes. Table 1 describes characteristics of the first nine patients discussed. A particular strength was in diagnostics and consideration of differentials; among patients referred we identified those with haematological malignancy, systemic lupus erythematosus and non-accidental injury. Regular peer-review sessions were held, for reflection on cases and their management in both secondary and tertiary care settings. Clinicians throughout Scotland were encouraged to join via SPARN and SPAIIN networks. Conclusion This multi-specialty MDT has been and continues to be beneficial for management of hyper-inflammatory patients. Preservation of Cultural Heritage: A Comparison Study of 3D Modelling between Laser Scanning, Depth Image and Photogrammetry Methods

This paper presents a multi-technique approach for the purpose of recording and documentation of cultural heritage. The focal point of the study is to generate a three-dimensional (3D) model representation of a physical object and to apply orthographic projection to document the design. Three main methods are used to generate 3D objects, namely Laser Range Scanner, Depth Image Data, and Photogrammetry. A comparison analysis is designed to evaluate each method accordingly. For evaluation purposes, a case study is designed where a scale model of a 25-cm-long famous historic Portuguese Indian Armada, known as “Flor de la Mar” is selected as a sample for generating 3D model records. The comparison analysis shows that the Photogrammetry method is superior in terms of detail, precision, and visualization. On the other hand, Laser Range Scanner and Depth Image Data method can display the data into the point cloud but with less accuracy. Overall, the result shows that the Photogrammetry method achieves a strong 97.6% of accuracy in terms of dimensions and shapes.

Horse and rider: who will drive change in ethics and practices of globalised conservation on living heritage sites?

This article explores challenges that surround the implementation of conservation management strategies for living heritage in the context of two case study sites in India. Acknowledging that, in theory, ‘bottom-up’ strategies for expertise exist but are rarely constituted in practice, it presents two vivid but fragile examples where such possibilities might be observed. It first distinguishes the Indian Cultural Heritage context from many conventional conceptions of heritage, defined by its distance from the beholder. Vignettes illustrate how the complexity of simultaneous value systems and beliefs may confound precepts relating to the treatment of tangible heritage. A discussion of the role of the architect in drawing and model making in this context is promoted for the purpose of deeper documentation. It draws upon previous work, which has proposed the enhanced potential to record the ephemeral as well as the monumental using photogrammetry. Building on this, the role of 3D digital models has recently been suggested as a means to contribute to processes for mediating between contested conservation strategies. Challenges of heritage that is at risk of destruction from being overwhelmed by nature are separated from those associated with dereliction or, in this instance and most importantly, increased use. The two case studies, in north and south India – at Ajmer in Rajasthan and at Madurai in Tamil Nadu – are discussed in relation to other examples. These present the opportunity to consider in context how issues of the designation of value at a local or a global scale might relate to corresponding difficulties in terms of governance and control at local or global scales. It again emphasises the role and scope of deeper documentation for this purpose. In terms of safeguarding, it suggests that better means for deeper observation of existing practices of maintenance should specifically be incorporated in future work.

An Analysis of Accounting Practices for Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah in Lembaga Amil Zakat, Infaq and Sadaqah Nahdatul Ulama (LAZISNU) Parepare, Indonesia: Standardization and Proposed Solutions

The standardization of accounting reporting is important for the purpose of documentation. Such standardization is important, especially when it is related to Islamic instruments, such as zakat, infaq and sadaqah. While certain institutions have already standardized their accounting reporting for zakat, infaq and sadaqah, it is not so apparent when it comes to Lembaga Amil Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah Nahdatul Ulama (LAZISNU) Parepare in Indonesia. It seems that LAZISNU is depending on simple bookkeeping based on incomes and expenses made as balance. This research identifies the practice of bookkeeping as carried out by LAZISNU, with the aim to upgrade the practice of their financial statements according to the accounting standard of PSAK 109. A qualitative case study approach was used in this research. The findings showed that the practice of accounting in LAZISNU depends on simple bookkeeping that only shows cash receipts and their disbursements. A recommendation was prepared for financial statements that can be applied by LAZISNU Parepare by preparing a financial position statement (balance sheet), changes in funds, changes in assets under management, cash flow statement, and summary of accounting policies. By improving such financial statements, LAZISNU may disclose proper, accountable and transparent reports to the stakeholders, particularly the muzakki and the government.

Body-kun/body-chan style model figures for artists in forensic visualization applications

Posture and body position are often in the focus of forensic medicine. Visualization for the purposes of documentation, teaching, scientific presentation or expert opinion in court is often desired. Plenty of possible tools to support visualization are available. However, there is a significant gap between quick drawings and more complex techniques. Body-chan (female) and body-kun (male) artist’s model figurines (genericized trademark) may provide a useful means to fill this gap. These models, about 12–15 cm in height, are multi-articulated humanoids of realistic proportions, intended to serve as models for manga (japanese comic) drawing. Plenty of different models are available in different quality which usually are equipped with interchangeable hand and feet attachments, a frame for ‘levitating’ positions as well as assorted objects to scale. These inexpensive models may be positioned quickly and intuitively. Photodocumentation from various angles can be performed using a mobile phone camera. Images may be further improved applying digital image manipulation software. Taken together, the process is quick and intuitive and the level of achievable complexity is sufficient for many forensic applications.

A mapping study on documentation in Continuous Software Development

With an increase in Agile, Lean, and DevOps software methodologies over the last years (collectively referred to as Continuous Software Development (CSD)), we have observed that documentation is often poor. This work aims at collecting studies on documentation challenges, documentation practices, and tools that can support documentation in CSD. A systematic mapping study was conducted to identify and analyze research on documentation in CSD, covering publications between 2001 and 2019. A total of 63 studies were selected. We found 40 studies related to documentation practices and challenges, and 23 studies related to tools used in CSD. The challenges include: informal documentation is hard to understand, documentation is considered as waste, productivity is measured by working software only, documentation is out-of-sync with the software and there is a short-term focus. The practices include: non-written and informal communication, the usage of development artifacts for documentation, and the use of architecture frameworks. We also made an inventory of numerous tools that can be used for documentation purposes in CSD. Overall, we recommend the usage of executable documentation, modern tools and technologies to retrieve information and transform it into documentation, and the practice of minimal documentation upfront combined with detailed design for knowledge transfer afterwards. It is of paramount importance to increase the quantity and quality of documentation in CSD. While this remains challenging, practitioners will benefit from applying the identified practices and tools in order to mitigate the stated challenges.

Documentation and presentation of vernacular architecture in the Czech Republic: Historical overview and possibilities and limits of contemporary approaches The study presents an analysis of the basic trends in the documentation and presentation of vernacular (peasant, rural) architecture in the Czech Republic over the past 150 years. Based on this analysis, four basic stages of documentation of vernacular architecture were identified. They differ primarily in the institutional background and the degree of professionalisation of the activities carried out, the theoretical-methodological and epistemological conceptualisation of rural architecture in the fields of art history on the one hand and ethnology on the other, the degree of systematicity and spatial complexity of research and documentation, and finally its objectives (documentation carried out solely for the purpose of scientific research vs. documentation aimed also at popularisation and presentation of results to the public). The developmental stages of documentation and presentation of vernacular architecture are: (a) Stage of haphazard lay and expert documentation with presentation objectives (2nd half of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century); (b) Stage of haphazard mainly expert/scientific documentation without presentation objectives (beginning of the 20th century to the 1950s). (c) Stage of systematic professional/ scientific documentation without presentation objectives (1950s to 1990s); (d) Stage of haphazard and systematic professional/scientific documentation with presentation objectives and use of new technological possibilities (1990s to present). Using the specific example of the VISKALIA project (Virtual Open Air Museum), the article also points out the possibilities and limits of contemporary documentation and presentation of rural architecture offered to ethnology and ethnology-oriented museology and related fields by contemporary trends in the so-called digital humanities and heritage science.
