Innovation and Practice of Diversified Business Model of New Energy Power Generation Enterprises

With the growing global demand for clean energy, new energy power generation enterprises are facing new opportunities and challenges. This paper explores the diversified business model of new energy power generation enterprises. Firstly, the theoretical basis of the business model of new energy power generation enterprises is analyzed, including the characteristics and income sources of single and multiple industrial chain models. The advantages and applications of different business models are analyzed through the study of cases at home and abroad, such as the European aggregated generation side resource model, the United States focused on controllable load demand response model, and the domestic cases of Shanghai and Shenzhen virtual power plant projects and distributed photovoltaic power generation. Then it puts forward the diversified business model innovation strategy of new energy power generation enterprises, covering the innovation of comprehensive energy services, the development of power side energy storage business, and the expansion of key businesses and profit models. Finally, the research conclusions are summarized and the future research directions are prospected. In short, the exploration of diversified business models of new energy power generation enterprises is of great significance to promote the development of clean energy and improve the competitiveness of enterprises.

Uncertainty and bank risk in an emerging market: The moderating role of business models.

The paper explores the role of business models in the link between uncertainty and bank risk. From the perspective of banks, given that future outcomes tend to be less predictable if banking uncertainty rises, we highlight a framework that a larger dispersion of bank shocks to bank-specific variables might mirror such decreased predictability as a consequence of increasing uncertainty. To compensate for the persistence of bank risk and address the endogeneity issue, we applied the system generalized method of moments (GMM) estimator as the main regressions. Analyzing a panel of commercial banks from Vietnam between 2007 and 2019, we find that higher levels of banking uncertainty may increase bank risk, as gauged by banks' credit risk (loan loss reverses and non-performing loans) and default risk (Z-score index). This detrimental influence of uncertainty appears to be most pronounced with banks relying on pure lending, and it decreases with more non-interest income. A deeper investigation after estimating the marginal effects with plots reveals an asymmetric pattern that bank risk is immune to uncertainty in banks with the highest level of income diversification. Interestingly, we also provide evidence that uncertainty may lower the default risk level when income diversification exceeds a sufficiently high level. Our findings demonstrate that diversified business models are an efficient buffer against higher bank risk in times of increased uncertainty.

Comprehensive Evaluation of High Quality Development of Sharing Economy in 16 Cities of Anhui Province

The article constructs an evaluation index system for the high-quality development of the sharing economy from three dimensions: infrastructure, economic development, and social progress, and comprehensively evaluates the high-quality development level of the sharing economy in 16 provincial-level cities in Anhui Province. The results indicate that the overall development level of the sharing economy in the sixteen cities of Anhui Province is not high, and there is an imbalanced and insufficient development situation where the development level in the central region is high and the two ends are low. Among the 16 prefecture level cities, only Hefei, Lu'an, Wuhu, and Fuyang have a comprehensive factor of sharing economy development level greater than 0, and the comprehensive factor score of sharing economy development level in various prefecture level cities in the central Anhui region is relatively high, followed by the northern and southern Anhui regions. Finally, the article summarizes and proposes countermeasures from three aspects: infrastructure construction, diversified business models, and market norms.

Diversified and Sustainable Business Strategy of Smallholder Farmers in the Suburbs of Taiwan

Taiwan’s smallholder farmers are transforming into a diversified business model to respond to the transformation of economic structures and the demand for sightseeing and recreation. On that account, it is urgent and valuable at the research level to develop diversified and sustainable business strategies and models for smallholder farmers. There are two goals in this study. First of all, the study formulated the indicators of diversified and sustainable business strategies for smallholder farmers in Taiwan’s suburbs. Second, the study measured the relevant weights of these indicators from the perspectives of experts. The qualitative and quantitative Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied in the study, with Taiwan’s agricultural experts being our main subjects to establish the indicators and models for diversified and sustainable business strategies based on their opinions. According to the research results, there were 6 criteria and 25 sub-criteria for smallholder farmers in terms of diversified and sustainable business strategies, among which, catering services topped other criteria; food health and safety outweighed other sub-criteria of diversified and sustainable business strategies for smallholder farmers. The greatest contribution of the study is the establishment of the indicators and models of diversified and sustainable strategies for smallholder farmers in Taiwan’s suburbs and the discovery that catering service can be an important orientation of diversified and sustainable business strategies for smallholder farmers in Taiwan’s suburbs.

A new approach to measuring universal banking

AbstractNoninterest income is widely used in the literature to account for the degree of the universal business model by banks. This paper proposes a novel measure of universal banking constructed using the relative contribution of each operating segment to total assets using an entropy approach. We here propose a novel dataset containing the Universal Banking Index (UBI) at both country and bank levels. Using a sample of international banks, we evaluate the extent to which our proposed metric affects banks’ profitability, stability, liquidity and capitalisation. Results suggest that a higher degree of diversification is associated with increased stability. In addition, banks that feature a more diversified business model, as proxied by the UBI, are also better capitalised, as opposed to banks with high noninterest income share. Our results suggest that regulatory‐induced restriction on universal banking may indeed reduce the benefits of risk sharing across operating segments, exposing banks to heightened risks.

This design USES elastic analysis method to obtain the working behavior characteristics of enterprise employees. Based on the nested Logit model, the multi-polarization comprehensive service model of financial Shared service center is designed. By changing the strategic positioning, the optimization design of the port enterprise financial Shared service center is realized. Experimental test results: taking 6 conditions in the four business modes as the test target, the financial center designed fails to meet only 3 test conditions, while the financial center designed by the traditional method fails to meet more than 50% of test conditions. It can be seen that the financial sharing service center designed this time meets the diversified development requirements of enterprises.

An Operation Benefit Analysis and Decision Model of Thermal Power Enterprises in China against the Background of Large-Scale New Energy Consumption

With the continuous increase in new energy installed capacity, the slowdown in the growth of social power consumption, the pressure created by high coal prices, and the reduction in on-grid electricity tariffs, the challenges facing the survival and development of thermal power generation enterprises are becoming more severe. Hence, based on the cost–benefit analysis method, this paper proposes a diversified operating benefit analysis and decision model for thermal power generation enterprises that includes four profit models: power sales, peak load regulation (without oil), peak load regulation (with oil), and generation right trading. The opportunity cost of peak load regulation and generation rights trading was considered, and six scenarios were designed. An empirical analysis was conducted by selecting a thermal power enterprise in Ningxia, Northwest China, as an example, using scenario and sensitivity analyses. The results show that under the diversified business model, thermal power generation enterprises can more effectively avoid the risks when the external environment changes and significantly improve its economic benefits. The consumption of new energy can be promoted, and positive social effects will be achieved. Therefore, the findings will help the thermal power generation enterprises to face these challenges.

Overview of Wind Power Industry Value Chain Using Diamond Model: A Case Study from China

Sustainable energy development has gained worldwide attention, in part thanks to the wind power industry value chain that focuses on overall value creation and innovation, especially in China. This paper aims to construct a wind power industry value chain model and comprehensively analyze factors that have significant influences on it using a modified diamond model, which has remained nebulous. Focused on the value-adding effect of constructed value chains, we offer key ideas from different angles. A factor condition lays the foundation of the value chain, and shows that China is experiencing energy structure adjustment in which wind power will play a key role; its resource potential is huge, but with mismatched distribution. Demand conditions reveal an increasing demand for wind but serious wind rejection as well; this is where the value-adding probability exists. Related and support departments collaborate to determine the overall value creation process. Firm strategy, structure, and rivalry are terms that describe possible value-adding subjects considering the wind industry as a whole. Government and opportunity provide robust prices and non-price policies to support value integration, and Technology is an effective factor in cost reduction and value creation as a high value-adding sector. Furthermore, a comparison of wind power industry value chains in China and Japan is conducted. Our findings underscore that a gap exists between actual performance and the expected wind power industry value chain, and corresponding measurements to promote the performance are discussed, including encouraging diversified business models, enhancing R&D and independent innovation, professional cultivation, effectively reducing wind rejection rate, and the full range of government support.

Reversed loss aversion in crowdsourcing contest

Crowdsourcing contest is an effective means for firms to outsource tasks online to a large group of solvers in order to obtain creative solutions. This study investigates loss aversion of solvers in crowdsourcing contests. An experiment was conducted, and reversed loss aversion was identified for solvers, suggesting that solvers experience more happiness from the gains when they win the contest than the pain from the equivalent losses when they fail. The results also suggested that solvers experience higher reversed loss aversion for ideation contests than for expertise-based contests. We then investigated the effects of reversed loss aversion from a game theory perspective. The solutions showed that solvers’ effort level is greater with reversed loss aversion, while the optimal reward for the contest remains the same. In light of our findings, sponsors should conduct contests to solve ideation problems in which the solvers are loss averse reversed and will input more effort. Diversified business models could be developed by crowdsourcing platforms to match solvers and different crowdsourcing tasks.

4G LTE network access system and pricing model for IoT MVNOs: spreading smart tourism

The aim of this study is to facilitate market access by Internet of things (IoT) mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) (`M2V' hereinafter) for the purpose of providing the IoT services required to implement more advanced smart tourism in the tourism sector, which is heavily influenced not only by the Internet but also by information and communications technology (ICT) in the era of fourth generation (4G) long term evolution (LTE) networks. The study produced the following results. It established a 4G LTE network-based technological access system, which is commercially offered all over the world, and suggested business models featuring diverse interworking between network and system through M2V access to 4G LTE, as well as the resulting wholesale price calculation model according to bandwidth. Based on the research model, both the Korean government and governments of other countries can be expected to further advance smart tourism in the future by implementing policy and institutional supports that aim to enable 4G LTE network-based M2V to realize a technological access system, and by inducing M2V to make inroads into the tourism industry based on diversified business models.

Dynamic Application of Transplanted Legal Rules Concerning the Right of Communication Through Information Network in China - Illustrated With Relevant Judicial Practice Involving Online Video Industry

Online video industry in China has different features from that in the USA, users’ habit of little respect for copyright, lack of diversified business models, restricted market access to cultural industry, strong censorship of contents and fierce competition make the copyright infringement in this industry more complicated. Such complicacy, together with the relevantly less independent judiciary make Chinese judges more pragmatic in applying laws. Painstaking localization of tans-planted legal rules concerning right of communication through information network has been undergoing in Chinese courts to overcome rigidness of technical provisions and structural deficiency caused by introduction of transplanted legal rules. By referring to “other rights”, temporary solution has been found to overcome the gap between broadcasting right and the right of communication through information network; by flexible combination of server test and user’s perception test in determining the direct infringement of right of communication through information network, online video providers have been forced to reform their operations and explore new business models; and based on the experience of many courts’ practice, the Judicial Interpretation (2012) has improved the coherence of the transplanted safe harbor rule and the current joint liability regime. In the long run, such painstaking efforts of localization are valuable.

Consolidation in the Exchange Industry: What are Exchanges Actually Worth? Some Evidence from a Crises Environment

It is generally acknowledged that the exchange industry shares the typical features of network industries, forcing exchanges to merge across countries. This process was first urged by the need to keep up with technological developments and increased competition from peers and new competitors. Starting 2005 and up to 2007 we observed significant cross border mergers within the securities industry leading to the creation of a few large groups with a diversified business model. It was questioned whether such mergers leaded to a stable equilibrium. Now, in the aftermath of the crisis a new wave of consolidation is taking place. The financial turmoil dramatically affected the market functioning delivering severe strains to the financial sector and modified the way of conducting business. We address the implications of the crisis on exchange’s values, investigating if expectations lying behind values have somewhat changed or compressed or reflect new opportunities.

As the Internet evolves and matures, Internet Service Providers (“ISPs”) have devised increasingly diversified business models for serving downstream end users and upstream content providers. The need to accommodate subscriber demand for more bandwidth also necessitates efforts by ISPs to generate higher revenues by differentiating service on the basis of subscriber access requirements and other customer-specific demand characteristics. ISPs have identified new strategies to diversify their offerings on the basis of price, quality of service, transmission speeds, permissible amount of capacity uploaded and downloaded, legitimate network management objectives and the demand for customer-specified network features.Advocates for limiting price and service discrimination contend that absent a “network neutrality” mandate, ISPs will discriminate in ways that harm competitors by favoring corporate affiliates and selected third parties. Network neutrality supporters claim that ISPs have both the incentive and ability to engage in harmful discrimination, typically characterized by ISPs as necessary network management, or a legitimate response to the specific requirements of a customer.This article will consider ISP conduit neutrality in the context of whether and how legislatures and national regulatory authorities can enhance trust and network reliability. It will assess how network management techniques can offer both quality of service improvements and deliberately inferior service. Starting from the observation that technological innovations provide the ability to build trust in Internet-mediated transactions, the article aims to identify legislative and regulatory strategies that can pass judicial review while also promoting network management goals that enhance cloud computing, electronic commerce and other transactions without affording ISPs unconditional opportunities also to harm competition and consumers.Using the United States network neutrality debate and legislation in that country designed to insulate ISPs from liability for carriage of harmful content, the article suggests that nations need to craft and use flexible solutions to access disputes. Fixed laws, regulations and policies in the U.S. have reduced trust in part because they either have questionable legality, or generate unintended incentives for ISPs to refrain from implementing techniques and strategies from enhancing the reliability and safety of personal and commercial transactions. The article concludes with a recommendation that nations implement flexible administrative mechanisms for dispute avoidance and resolution.
