Lateral distribution of energy flow of cascade showers

In 1956 Oda (Institute of Nuclear Study, University of Tokyo) pointed out the possibility of observing the lateral distribution of the energy flow of shower particles using large Cherenkov detectors. A similar experiment was carried out by the Harwell group and reported at the Ozford Conference. An evaluation is made of the lateral distribution of energy flow of shower particles, using the solutions of lateral distribution functions reported in previous papers. (A.C.)
