Introduction. The unprecedented spread of information and communication technologies (ICT) in various social activities is causing significant changes in human life. Therefore, researchers should focus on studying the impact of ICT on the modern society as a whole as well as on the cognitive processes and behaviors of specialists who work with information. Aim. To highlight the main areas of research into the impact of information and communication technologies on the daily social life as well as on the personality of Internet users. Methods. Application of ICT for Self-Organization and Self-Development of the Individual (Vynoslavska, 2015) and Advantages and Disadvantages of Using ICT in the Educational Process (Vynoslavska, 2016). Results. The relevance of the study is confirmed by the list of modern scientific literature on the impact of ICT on the daily life of society, in particular on the cognitive and personal development of the individual. The article analyzes the opinions of the technical university teachers and students as advanced Internet users about the advantages and disadvantages of ICT, the dynamics of Ukrainian Internet users’ opinions about the negative impact of online work (2012-2022), and compares the obtained data with the results of foreign studies. Prospects for further research in psychology of ICT users are outlined. Conclusions. The information presented in the article can be useful in researching the problems of social psychology of ICT users as well as the psychological consequences of their online work.
