The three-dimensional digital factory technology research is the hotspot in shipbuilding recently. The three-dimensional digital factory technology not only focus on design the components of the product, but also discuss on the simulation and analyses of the production process.Based on the three-dimensional model, the basic data layer, application control layer and the presentation layer of hierarchical structure are established in the three-dimensional digital factory of shipbuilding in this paper. And the key technologies of three-dimensional digital factory of shipbuilding are analysed. Finally, a case study is applied and the results show that the three-dimensional digital factory will play an important role in the future.

A Framework of Digital Factory System Using Multi-Resolution Simulation

Digital Factory (DF) technology is one of the most important part of manufacturer enterprise information systems, its core technology is modeling & simulation. This paper introduced the digital factory concept and its functions with multi-level multi-resolution modeling and simulation method; we established a new framework of the digital factory technology. It combines with the features of DF and simulation technology which expands the development of DF and application of simulation technology. A case was taken to show the feasibility of multi-level modeling & multi-resolution simulation technology attaching to the DF technology.

Study on Modeling and Simulation of Digital Factory Technology in Complex Production Development

This paper describes an innovative systematic approach to factory automation. Northwestern Polytechnical University developed an Enterprise-level Digital fActory and its Simulation Platform, NPU-EDASP that adopted service-oriented architecture methodology to design and develop this software. In particular, it specifies the simulation technology within the NPU-EDASP platform to bridge the gape exits among products and production manufacturing process. In an advanced stage, simulation technology can be applied in the NPU-EDASP to enhance the operative production planning and control. Further, the combination of simulation and optimization techniques will improve and optimize material flow, resource utilization and logistics in production engineering processes. A case study of a model demonstrates that the NPU-EDASP digital factory offers an integrated approach to promote the ability of production engineering.
