The University is considered an important academic center to prepare students for a better future. University students will face many changes during their studies, which may affecting their overall performance, study and decision-making. Their problems and adaptation mean high cognitive flexibility, as some students cannot adapt to their problems. This study aimed to determine statistical differences in cognitive flexibility among kindergarten students in Kurdistan Regional University. Knowing the different levels of cognitive flexibility statistics among kindergarten students according to university variables (Salahaddin, Sulaimani, Raparen, Halabja , Garmian). The determine statistical differences in cognitive flexibility between first and third- grade students of kindergarten departments in each of the Kurdistan Regional University. the researcher uses a quantitative descriptive method because it is appropriate to the nature of the research. Sample selection The researcher random sampling from the kindergarten department, which consisted of (345) students and they divided into five universities (Salahaddin, Sulaimani, Raparen, Halabja , Garmian), the researcher was able to prepare the measure of cognitive softness using the measure (Al-Mayahi, Razi, 2019), and the researcher used the SPSS program as a method to analyze the data. Results of the study cognitive flexibility among kindergarten students is at a high level, there is a difference in cognitive flexibility according to the university variable, there is no difference in cognitive flexibility between first and third grade students in kindergarten in each of the universities in the Kurdistan Region. Based on the results Obtained by the researcher, the researcher makes some suggestions and recommendations to the places related to the research.

Alerting network, cognitive flexibility in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and the moderating effect of neuroticism.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder, and cognitive flexibility is a sub-component of executive functioning. Studies have shown impairments in cognitive flexibility in ADHD, which is affected by attentional processes. Personality, as a long-standing trait, has a profound effect on ADHD. However, previous studies have not assessed the relationship between attentional function, personality traits, and cognitive flexibility in children with ADHD. This study explored the association between attention networks, personality, and cognitive flexibility in ADHD, filling a gap in the related field. We expect our findings will provide insights into and clues for the prevention and interventional treatment of ADHD. This study primarily aimed to analyze differences in cognitive flexibility between individuals with ADHD and those without and further examine associations between attention networks, personality, and cognitive flexibility in children with ADHD. Overall, 55 children aged 7 to 11 years diagnosed with ADHD and 40 children without ADHD participated in this study. Cognitive flexibility, personality traits, and attentional networks were assessed using the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, and Attention Network Test, respectively. Additionally, the association between personality traits and strong attentional functioning and cognitive flexibility was investigated using multiple regression analysis. Children with ADHD had significant deficits in cognitive flexibility. A multiple regression analysis revealed that the alerting effect was highly associated with cognitive flexibility at high levels of neuroticism. This association was not salient in individuals with low levels of neuroticism. This study demonstrated that the ADHD group experienced lower cognitive flexibility than the control group. In addition, we showed the effect of neuroticism and alerting networks on cognitive flexibility. These findings may help psychiatrists provide intervention strategies to mitigate the impairment of social functioning in ADHD with cognitive spirituality deficits.

Investigating differences in cognitive flexibility, clinical perfectionism, and eating disorder-specific rumination across anorexia nervosa illness states

ABSTRACT Introduction: Cognitive inflexibility, clinical perfectionism, and eating disorder (ED)-specific rumination are common characteristics reported in anorexia nervosa (AN) and may contribute to the maintenance of the illness. It is suggested that clinical perfectionism and rumination may mediate the relationship between cognitive flexibility and AN pathology; however, research to date has not investigated all these factors together. The aim of the current study was to explore the relationships between these factors and how they may relate to ED symptoms in AN. Methods: Participants included 15 women with a current diagnosis of AN, 12 women who had a past diagnosis of AN and were currently weight-restored, and 15 healthy controls (HCs). Results: The results revealed that participants with both acute and weight-restored AN self-reported poorer cognitive flexibility than HCs, but the groups did not differ in performance on objective assessments of cognitive flexibility. Participants with AN also reported significantly greater clinical perfectionism and ED-specific rumination than HC. A parallel mediation analysis found that ED-specific rumination mediated the relationship between subjective cognitive flexibility and ED symptoms. Further, subjective cognitive flexibility directly influenced ED symptoms. However, the mediation model was not significant for objective cognitive flexibility. Conclusion: The findings of this study have implications for potential treatment barriers and factors which might contribute to the risk of relapse.

A computational model of inner speech supporting flexible goal-directed behaviour in Autism

Experimental and computational studies propose that inner speech boosts categorisation skills and executive functions, making human behaviour more focused and flexible. In addition, many clinical studies highlight a relationship between poor inner-speech and an executive impairment in autism spectrum condition (ASC), but contrasting findings are reported. Here we directly investigate the latter issue through a previously implemented and validated computational model of the Wisconsin Cards Sorting Tests. In particular, the model was applied to explore potential individual differences in cognitive flexibility and inner speech contribution in autistic and neurotypical participants. Our model predicts that the use of inner-speech could increase along the life-span of neurotypical participants but would be reduced in autistic ones. Although we found more attentional failures (i.e., wrong behavioural rule switches) in autistic children/teenagers and more perseverative behaviours in autistic young/older adults, only autistic children and older adults exhibited a lower performance (i.e., fewer consecutive correct rule switches) than matched control groups. Overall, our results corroborate the idea that the reduced use of inner speech could represent a disadvantage for autistic children and autistic older adults. Moreover, the results suggest that cognitive-behavioural therapies should focus on developing inner speech skills in autistic children as this could provide cognitive support throughout their whole life span.

Sex differences in cognitive flexibility are driven by the estrous cycle and stress-dependent.

Stress is associated with psychiatric disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder, major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, and panic disorders. Women are more likely to be diagnosed with these stress-related psychiatric disorders than men. A key phenotype in stress-related psychiatric disorders is impairment in cognitive flexibility, which is the ability to develop new strategies to respond to different patterns in the environment. Because gonadal hormones can contribute to sex differences in response to stress, it is important to consider where females are in their cycle when exposed to stress and cognitive flexibility testing. Moreover, identifying neural correlates involved in cognitive flexibility could not only build our understanding of the biological mechanisms behind this crucial skill but also leads to more targeted treatments for psychiatric disorders. Although previous studies have separately examined sex differences in cognitive flexibility, stress effects on cognitive flexibility, and the effect of gonadal hormones on cognitive flexibility, many of the findings were inconsistent, and the role of the estrous cycle in stress-induced impacts on cognitive flexibility is still unknown. This study explored potential sex differences in cognitive flexibility using an operant strategy shifting-paradigm after either control conditions or restraint stress in freely cycling female and male rats (with estrous cycle tracking in the female rats). In addition, we examined potential neural correlates for any sex differences observed. In short, we found that stress impaired certain aspects of cognitive flexibility and that there were sex differences in cognitive flexibility that were driven by the estrous cycle. Specifically, stress increased latency to first press and trials to criterion in particular tasks. The female rats demonstrated more omissions and perseverative errors than the male rats; the sex differences were mostly driven by proestrus female rats. Interestingly, the number of orexinergic neurons was higher in proestrus female rats than in the male rats under control conditions. Moreover, orexin neural count was positively correlated with number of perseverative errors made in cognitive flexibility testing. In sum, there are sex differences in cognitive flexibility that are driven by the estrous cycle and are stress-dependent, and orexin neurons may underlie some of the sex differences observed.

Transient food insecurity during the juvenile-adolescent period affects adult weight, cognitive flexibility, and dopamine neurobiology

A major challenge for neuroscience, public health, and evolutionary biology is to understand the effects of scarcity and uncertainty on the developing brain. Currently, a significant fraction of children and adolescents worldwide experience insecure access to food. The goal of our work was to test in mice whether the transient experience of insecure versus secure access to food during the juvenile-adolescent period produced lasting differences in learning, decision-making, and the dopamine system in adulthood. We manipulated feeding schedules in mice from postnatal day (P)21 to P40 as food insecure or ad libitum and found that when tested in adulthood (after P60), males with different developmental feeding history showed significant differences in multiple metrics of cognitive flexibility in learning and decision-making. Adult females with different developmental feeding history showed no differences in cognitive flexibility but did show significant differences in adult weight. We next applied reinforcement learning models to these behavioral data. The best fit models suggested that in males, developmental feeding history altered how mice updated their behavior after negative outcomes. This effect was sensitive to task context and reward contingencies. Consistent with these results, in males, we found that the two feeding history groups showed significant differences in the AMPAR/NMDAR ratio of excitatory synapses on nucleus-accumbens-projecting midbrain dopamine neurons and evoked dopamine release in dorsal striatal targets. Together, these data show in a rodent model that transient differences in feeding history in the juvenile-adolescent period can have significant impacts on adult weight, learning, decision-making, and dopamine neurobiology.

Political Ideology and Cultural Consumption: The Role of Flexibility in Shaping Liberal and Conservative Preferences for Global-Local Experiences

Research has long discussed the personal and collective benefits of cultural consumption. Yet not all cultural experiences are the same, as experiences vary in whether they benefit consumers’ understanding of global or local cultures. The present research proposes that consumer preferences for these discrete types of cultural experiences vary by their political ideology. Across four studies, liberals prefer global consumption experiences, whereas conservatives prefer local consumption experiences. Moreover, these preferences are driven by differences in cognitive flexibility and are shown to emerge from different learning styles (breadth or depth). Furthermore, these preferences are independent of openness, cultural identity, and mental construal, and have implications for marketing and public policy decisions. Collectively, these findings detail the role of political ideology and cognitive flexibility in shaping consumer preferences for different types of cultural experiences and thereby offer a nuanced perspective on the impact of liberal and conservative consumers in shaping cultural consumption.

Cognitive and Experienced Flexibility in Patients With Anorexia Nervosa and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

ObjectiveAnorexia nervosa (AN) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) share a neuropsychological profile characterized by cognitive inflexibility as evident in set-shifting problems, and by strong detail focus. Clinically, both patient groups display a strong rigidity which may be explained by these neurocognitive difficulties. Cognitive inflexibility may hinder treatment uptake and help explain suboptimal treatment outcomes in both AN and OCD. This is the first study to compare clinical AN and OCD groups andto examine similarities and differences in cognitive flexibility. Specifically, this study aims to investigate neuropsychological outcomes and self-reported difficulties in both clinical groups and a control group, and explore associations between the different flexibility outcomes and illness.MethodTwo hundred participants (61 AN, 72 OCD and 67 HC) performed neuropsychological tasks on set-shifting abilities (Trail Making Task, Stroop color-word interference, Intradimensional-Extradimensional shift task), detail focus (Group Embedded Figures Test) and self-reported set-shifting abilities and attention to detail (DFlex).ResultsSimilarities between patient groups were found in terms of reduced set-shifting ability on the Trail Making Task and detail focus. Moreover, both patient groups self-reported more set-shifting problems but a less strong detail focus than HC, which in turn were not related to neuropsychological task outcomes in either of the groups. In both patient groups longer illness duration was associated to longer reaction times in the switching tasks and for both groups symptom severity was associated to higher experienced inflexibility and attention to detail.ConclusionCognitive inflexibility processes are largely similar in patients with AN and OCD. Both patient groups report inflexibility, yet this is unrelated to neuropsychological outcomes. Illness duration seems to contribute to poorer set-shifting and higher illness severity is linked to more experienced inflexibility. Findings highlight the need for entangling different domains of cognitive flexibility and detail focus and examining self-report measures for a cohesive understanding of clinically relevant flexibility weaknesses in AN and OCD.

Gray matter volume alteration is associated with insistence on sameness and cognitive flexibility in autistic youth.

Restricted and repetitive behaviors (RRBs) are hallmark characteristics of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Previous studies suggest that insistence on sameness (IS) characterized as higher-order RRBs may be a promising subgrouping variable for ASD. Cognitive inflexibility may underpin IS behaviors. However, the neuroanatomical correlates of IS and associated cognitive functions remain unclear. We analyzed data from 140 autistic youth and 124 typically developing (TD) youth (mean age=15.8 years). Autistic youth were stratified by median-split based on three current IS items in the autism diagnostic interview-revised into two groups (high, HIS, n=70, and low, LIS, n=70). Differences in cognitive flexibility were assessed by the Cambridge neuropsychological test automated battery (CANTAB). T1-weighted brain structural images were analyzed using voxel-based morphometry (VBM) to identify differences in gray matter (GM) volume among the three groups. GM volume of regions showing group differences was then correlated with cognitive flexibility. The HIS group showed decreased GM volumes in the left supramarginal gyrus compared to the LIS group and increased GM volumes in the vermis VIII and left cerebellar lobule VIII compared to TD individuals. We did not find significant correlations between regional GM volumes and extra-dimensional shift errors. IS may be a unique RRB component and a potentially valuable stratifier of ASD. However, the neurocognitive underpinnings require further clarification. LAY SUMMARY: The present study found parietal, temporal and cerebellar gray matter volume alterations in autistic youth with greater insistence on sameness. The findings suggest that insistence on sameness may be a useful feature to parse the heterogeneity of the autism spectrum yet further research investigating the underlying neurocognitive mechanism is warranted.

Sufficient reliability of the behavioral and computational readouts of a probabilistic reversal learning task

Task-based measures that capture neurocognitive processes can help bridge the gap between brain and behavior. To transfer tasks to clinical application, reliability is a crucial benchmark because it imposes an upper bound to potential correlations with other variables (e.g., symptom or brain data). However, the reliability of many task readouts is low. In this study, we scrutinized the retest reliability of a probabilistic reversal learning task (PRLT) that is frequently used to characterize cognitive flexibility in psychiatric populations. We analyzed data from N = 40 healthy subjects, who completed the PRLT twice. We focused on how individual metrics are derived, i.e., whether data were partially pooled across participants and whether priors were used to inform estimates. We compared the reliability of the resulting indices across sessions, as well as the internal consistency of a selection of indices. We found good to excellent reliability for behavioral indices as derived from mixed-effects models that included data from both sessions. The internal consistency was good to excellent. For indices derived from computational modeling, we found excellent reliability when using hierarchical estimation with empirical priors and including data from both sessions. Our results indicate that the PRLT is well equipped to measure individual differences in cognitive flexibility in reinforcement learning. However, this depends heavily on hierarchical modeling of the longitudinal data (whether sessions are modeled separately or jointly), on estimation methods, and on the combination of parameters included in computational models. We discuss implications for the applicability of PRLT indices in psychiatric research and as diagnostic tools.

Task-dependent reversal learning dynamics challenge the reversal paradigm of measuring cognitive flexibility

Cognitive flexibility may be necessary for animals facing changing conditions and has long been tested by the reversal learning paradigm. However, while this paradigm is typically based on training animals to discriminate between a rewarding and nonrewarding stimulus and then reversing their roles, under natural conditions animals usually face more than one set of two stimuli. Here, we addressed these potential intricacies by studying the reversal learning of house sparrows, Passer domesticus , in a two-set task. Sparrows previously trained as either colour or shape specialists exhibited different reversal dynamics: While colour discrimination was acquired faster than shape discrimination, shape specialists, including those reaching perfect preference of the rewarding shape, reversed faster than colour specialists. The reversal success of shape specialists was also less variable than that of colour specialists. Additionally, despite being slower, during the reversal, colour specialists sampled shapes more than shape specialists sampled colours. These results suggest that (1) when comparing different reversal tests, significant differences in reversal behaviour may be explained by the type of learned stimulus (e.g. shape versus colour) rather than by differences in cognitive flexibility and (2) under realistic conditions of multiple foraging options, preferences that are difficult to reverse (and typically viewed as indicating low cognitive flexibility) may nevertheless facilitate an ecologically flexible shift to novel food types. Finally, our results also demonstrate that a two-set (multiple-cue) experimental design may help to tease apart some of the different processes underlying reversal behaviour and cognitive flexibility. • The results of reversal learning tests differed depending on stimulus type. • Differences were independent of the discrimination level reached before reversal. • Associations that were difficult to reverse induced flexible shift to novel cues. • Reversal scores may not reflect ecological flexibility in multiple-cue environments. • A multiple-cue set-up helps tease apart the subcomponents of the reversal process.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COGNITIVE FLEXIBILITY AND COPING STYLE VARIABLES IN ADULT INDIVIDUALS

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between coping styles and cognitive flexibility variables in adult individuals and whether these two variables change according to gender, age, marital status, educational status and socioeconomic levels. The research is structured according to the scanning model.The sample of the study consisted of a total of 309 participants, including 261 randomly selected women and 48 men living in Bartın province. In the study, data were obtained using the" coping styles scale“, the” cognitive flexibility scale "and the" Personal Information Form". The data were analyzed using the SPSS 25 statistical program. Pearson Correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and t test for independent samples were used to analyze the data. As a result of the analyzes made for the purpose of the research; while gender and marital status characteristics led to significant differences in cognitive flexibility and coping styles, age, educational status and monthly income characteristics did not create a significant difference. In addition, it was concluded that the independent variables of cognitive flexibility of planning, behavioral disengagement, denial, and humor predicted the dependent variable of cognitive flexibility and the variance was 12%. Cognitive Flexibility and Inhibition in Individuals with Age-Related Hearing Loss.

Growing evidence suggests alterations in cognitive control processes in individuals with varying degrees of age-related hearing loss (ARHL); however, alterations in those with unaided mild ARHL are understudied. The current study examined two cognitive control processes, cognitive flexibility, and inhibition, in 21 older adults with unaided mild ARHL and 18 age- and education-matched normal hearing (NH) controls. All participants underwent comprehensive audiological and cognitive evaluations including Trail Making Test-B, Verbal Fluency, Stroop, and two Go/NoGo tasks. Group differences in cognitive flexibility and inhibition as well as associations between peripheral and central hearing ability and measures of cognitive flexibility and inhibition were investigated. Findings revealed that the ARHL group took significantly longer to complete the Stroop task and had higher error rates on NoGo trials on both Go/NoGo tasks relative to the NH controls. Additionally, poorer peripheral and central hearing were associated with poorer cognitive flexibility and inhibitory control. Our findings suggest slower and more inefficient inhibitory control in the mild ARHL group relative to the NH group and add to decades of research on the association between hearing and cognition.

Executive Functioning and Clinical Variables in Patients with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

Background: Cognitive flexibility, response inhibition, and working memory are considered the main mechanisms responsible for executive control. This study examined differences in cognitive flexibility, inhibition, and working memory in patients with obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) relative to a control group. Method: A total of 62 obsessive-compulsive participants (OCD = 32; healthy control = 32) aged between 17 and 56 years old (M = 33.16, SD = 9.23) were administered the computerized Wisconsin Card Sorting Test, Stroop Color–Word Test, Go/No-Go Task, Digit Test, and Corsi Block Test. Clinician-rated and self-reported obsessive–compulsive symptom severity, and anxiety, depression, and obsessive beliefs were evaluated. Results: The control group performed better than the OCD group in tasks involving cognitive flexibility, inhibition, and visuospatial working memory. Anxiety and obsessive beliefs influenced the participants’ performance on inhibition and working memory tasks. Similarly, comorbidity also influenced inhibition and working memory. In addition, the use of pharmacotherapy and the degree of OCD symptom severity influenced verbal working memory. Conclusions: Cognitive flexibility, inhibition, and visuospatial working memory deficits may be endophenotypes of OCD but require further examination for specificity. OCD severity, comorbidity patterns, anxiety, and obsessive beliefs may influence performance.

442 - Neurocognitive markers of passive suicidal ideation in late life depression

Aims:Late life suicide is an international public health crisis, yet the mechanisms underlying late life suicide risk are far less understood compared to younger age groups. Executive dysfunction is widely documented in late life depression (LLD), and cognitive flexibility and inhibition are specifically hypothesized as vulnerabilities for suicide risk. There is some evidence that LLD patients with suicidal ideation or attempt suicide have worse executive dysfunction than LLD patients that do not; however, it is unknown whether these differences exist in Passive Suicidal Ideation (PSI), which may be an important early stage of suicide risk. Delineating the mechanisms of risk for PSI in LLD is a crucial direction for late life suicide research. The purpose of our study was to examine whether cognitive flexibility and inhibitory ability are neurocognitive markers of PSI. The secondary purpose of our study was to determine if neurocognitive differences due to PSI are mediated by volumetric differences in the prefrontal cortex.Methods:Forty community-dwelling middle- and older-aged adults with LLD (18 with PSI, 22 without) completed a neurocognitive battery that assessed cognitive flexibility, inhibitory ability, as well as other neurocognitive domains, and underwent structural neuroimaging.Results:The PSI group performed significantly worse on cognitive flexibility and inhibitory ability, but not on other neurocognitive tasks which included other measures of executive function. The PSI group had a larger left mid-frontal gyrus (LMFG) than those without PSI, but there was no association between LMFG and cognitive flexibility or inhibitory ability, nor was there statistical evidence of mediation.Conclusions:Our findings implicate a unique neurocognitive signature in LLD with PSI: poorer cognitive flexibility and poorer inhibitory ability not better accounted for by other domains of cognitive dysfunction and not mediated by volumetric differences in the prefrontal cortex. Volumetric brain differences in the LMFG appear unrelated to differences in cognitive flexibility and inhibitory ability, which suggests two specific but independent risk factors for PSI in middle- and older-aged adults.

The Relationship Between Physical Activity and Executive Functions Among Youth in Low-Income Urban Schools in the Northeast and Southwest United States.

The purpose of this study was to examine if physical activity is related to greater executive functions among youth in poverty. Executive functions (cognitive flexibility, inhibition, and working memory) and physical activity were measured in participants (N = 149) in the fifth to eighth grade from three schools located in high-poverty districts. Pearson correlations revealed a statistically significant correlation between physical activity and cognitive flexibility (r = .18, p < .05). Hierarchical multiple regressions revealed that physical activity significantly improved prediction for cognitive flexibility, R2 = .09, F(6, 142) = 2.26, p = .041, adjusted R2 = .05, above sex, maturity, and school district. A two-way multivariate analysis of covariance revealed statistically significant differences in working memory in more active youth compared with less active but no statistically significant differences in cognitive flexibility or inhibition (p < .05). Greater physical activity is associated with greater working memory among youth in poverty.

Social isolation improves the performance of rodents in a novel cognitive flexibility task

BackgroundSocial isolation, i.e., the deprivation of social contact, is a highly stressful circumstance that affects behavioral and functional brain development in social animals. Cognitive flexibility, one of the essential executive brain function that facilitates survival problem solving, was reported to be impaired after social isolation rearing. However, most of the previous studies have focused on the constrained aspect of flexibility and little is known about the unconstrained aspect. In the present study, the unconstrained cognitive flexibility of Kunming mice (Mus musculus, Km) reared in isolation was examined by a novel digging task. The exploratory behavior of the mice was also tested utilizing the hole-board and elevated plus maze tests to explain the differences in cognitive flexibility between the mice reared socially and in isolation.ResultsThe results demonstrated that the isolated mice had a higher success rate in solving the novel digging problem and showed a higher rate of exploratory behavior compared with the controls. Linear regression analysis revealed that the time it took the mice to solve the digging problem was negatively associated with exploratory behavior.ConclusionsThe data suggest that social isolation rearing improves unconstrained cognitive flexibility in mice, which is probably related to an increase in their exploratory behavior. Such effects may reflect the behavioral and cognitive evolutionary adaptations of rodents to survive under complex and stressful conditions.

Sex Differences in Cognitive Flexibility and Resting Brain Networks in Middle-Aged Marmosets

Sex differences in human cognitive performance are well characterized. However, the neural correlates of these differences remain elusive. This issue may be clarified using nonhuman primates, for which sociocultural influences are minimized. We used the marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) to investigate sex differences in two aspects of executive function: reversal learning and intradimensional/extradimensional (ID/ED) set shifting. Stress reactivity and motor function were also assessed. In agreement with human literature, females needed more trials than males to acquire the reversals. No sex differences in ED set shifting or motivational measures were observed. The findings suggest enhanced habit formation in females, perhaps due to striatal estrogenic effects. Both sexes showed increased urinary cortisol during social separation stressor, but females showed an earlier increase in cortisol and a greater increase in agitated locomotion, possibly indicating enhanced stress reactivity. Independent of sex, basal cortisol predicted cognitive performance. No sex differences were found in motor performance. Associations between brain networks and reversal learning performance were investigated using resting state fMRI. Resting state functional connectivity (rsFC) analyses revealed sex differences in cognitive networks, with differences in overall neural network metrics and specific regions, including the prefrontal cortex, caudate, putamen, and nucleus accumbens. Correlations between cognitive flexibility and neural connectivity indicate that sex differences in cognitive flexibility are related to sex-dependent patterns of resting brain networks. Overall, our findings reveal sex differences in reversal learning, brain networks, and their relationship in the marmoset, positioning this species as an excellent model to investigate the biological basis of cognitive sex differences.
