In the mining industry, a company’s level of competitiveness is primarily determined by productivity and operational excellence. Digitalization is becoming an important factor for mining companies to remain competitive in the production market. It is obvious that modern technologies are opening up new directions for increasing productivity. Mining companies invest huge amounts of money in the development and application of modern information technologies, energy and drilling systems to increase the production level and improve environmental efficiency. The study aims to analyze advantages and disadvantages of modern information technologies implemented at mining enterprises and to assess the prospects for using them in training occupational safety experts. It was established that in training occupational safety specialists, it is advisable to use domestic software. Examples of software products used by Irkutsk National Research Technical University are provided.
