This paper aims to critically examine the problem of modernity in world literature and, more specifically, in the theory of world literature by Frederic Jameson, Neil Lazarus, and Nicholas Brown, who have formulated a new concept of modernity against Western modernity. For a long time, world literature has been regarded as a field in which the ideas and values of Western modernity were embodied. This led to the negative labeling of non-Western literature as less worldly and more local literature that falsely imitates the modernity of Western literature. So the problem of modernity, such as how to overcome Western modernity and rethink the concept of modernity radically, has become one of the essential issues in the recent theories of world literature because we can not achieve the further development of world literature without properly criticizing the existing concept of Western modernity. What is interesting in Jameson’s idea of singular modernity and Lazarus and Brown’s theory of world literature is that they criticizes the Western conception for modernity and suggests the new concept of modernity that pays attention to the proper problems of capitalism rather than the West. Moreover, their theory pursues for a new political reading on the modernity and universality of literature, overcoming the dichotomy between central and peripheral, western and non-western. Their theory of world literature has also significant implications for us who have been strongly influenced by Western modernity. It makes us realize that our own literature can be world literature when we thoroughly explore our own modernity and the problems of capitalism. It also recalls us the basic fact that world literature is a literature that can search for political possibilities in the modernity of our own world and its internal contradictions and cracks.

Participatory Culture in Chinese Transmedia Fictions

As a new literary form in China, Transmedia fictions are constantly impacting the status of traditional paper novels. Participation culture is an important feature of Transmedia fictions, and it plays an important role in transmedia creation and communication modes. As a representative of mass culture and grassroots culture, Transmedia fictions continuously increase their influence in people's spiritual and cultural life and impact the status of traditional elite culture through a very participatory creative process and communication process. Through the study of the participating culture in Chinese Transmedia fictions, we can have a deeper understanding of the characteristics of this literary form, which will promote the future development of world literature.

NATIONAL SELF-AWARENESS: THE DISCOVERY OF DESTINY AND BEAUTY

National self-awareness is an event directly related to one’s life, destiny. Literature is a force that influences thinking through emotions, shaping a person's characters and outlook. It creates a new artistic world by summing up the call of the heart, the phenomenon of self-awareness with the pain and wonder of the soul.Certainly, the book “My Dagestan” and poetry of the great poet of Dagestan, Rasul Khamzatov and the works of the great Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov have given a new impetus to the development of national identity in the works of Uzbek writers. Indeed, every talent gains strength and energy from other unique featured great talents. In this sense, we know how much Rasul Hamzatov enjoyed Oriental poetry at times, in particular, the works of Alisher Navoi. In addition, Amir Timur “Disciplines” of Chingiz Aitmatov, the teachings of Bahauddin Naqshbandi, the works of Alisher Navoiy, the works of the twentieth century Jadid literature, especially the works of Abdulla Kadiri were truly impressed him which contributed to his literary maturity.Therefore, this article tells about the great intimacy and spiritual harmony in the work of the great Uzbek writer Abdulla Kadiri and the great Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov. To be more precise, the particularities related to the influence of Kadiri’s works on Aitmatov’s artistic thinking which influenced on the development of world literature are analyzed. A Thematic Interpretation of Emily Dickinson’s Poetry

Emily Dickinson, a renowned female poet of America in the nineteenth century, is considered as the pioneer of Modern Poetry and Imagist Movement of American and Britain poetry in the twentieth century. Her poetry, with profound implications and unique styles, has made immortal contributions to the prosperity and development of world literature. While living in a solitary and inactive life，known as “Amherst recluse” in American literature, she has created 1775 ingenious poems in her whole life, covering numerous themes, such as nature, love, life, God and friendship and so on. The thesis will focus on multiple subjects of her poetry, thus interpreting her distinctive outlooks on nature, love and life, through which, the wild and ferocious nature, the happy and sorrowful love as well as the hasty and deliberate life will be reflected. Finally, the point is made that her poetry is influenced by the social background, family situation and personal experiences at that time. Hence, the substantial role she has played in American poetry is further affirmed.

NATURE FOR THE ROMANTICS

The Romantic doctrine is one of the modern doctrines that had a great impact on the development of world literature in general because of the principles it came with to end the long-standing dominance of the classical doctrine in Europe and extended its dominance from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century. However, the Romantic doctrine, with its new ideas and new principles Which was characterized by renewal, flexibility, imagination and dreaming ended the dominance of the classical doctrine, and the romantic doctrine of religion and religious ideas in literature restored their existence as well as revived popular and Christian literature that was neglected in the classical era, as well as the romantic doctrine nourished the spiritual aspect of man and navigated within his feelings and in the labyrinths of his imaginations and inner feeling. Romanticism was particularly concerned with nature, and almost all of its writers were excessively interested in nature. This interest began with Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who is considered the father of romance and romantics, who gave nature a special attention, and he considered city life to be against the healthy innate life. Most romantics are considered the person who grows up in The countryside is closer to common sense due to its proximity to nature and an atmosphere that is not disturbed by city life, which is based on principles and relationships that are more complex and far from common sense.

The Realistic Genre and its Development in World Literature

Realism is a way of expressing life through images in accordance with real events and events. Realism strives to embrace reality with all its contradictions, given the literature itself and its role as a means of knowing the outside world, giving the writer the opportunity to reflect on all aspects of life. In the literature based on the method of realism, the principle of describing reality is a priority. Consequently, the literature of Realism is the highest stage in the development of world literature. Realism (Latin realis - material, real) is a philosophical direction. According to him, the reality outside the consciousness consists of the existence of ideal objects (Plato, medieval scholasticism) or objects of cognition, which are not related to the subject matter, process or experience.Realism and realistic features of the world literature is on the point of the article to be discussed about.

МЕТАФІЗИЧНІ МОТИВИ У ПОЕЗІЇ БОЛЕСЛАВА ЛЕСЬМЯНА

The research is devoted to the metaphysical motives in the poetry of Bolesław Leśmian. This is an important milestone in the history of Polish literature. The legacy of such poets determines not only the nature of national poetry, but also has a significant impact on the development of world literature. Bolesław Leśmian created his unique metaphysical world. Its structure, organization and other features and innovations are the subject of our study. The aim of the study is to show the metaphysical motives in the poetry of Bolesław Leśmian, based on the critical reception of the representatives of the Polish and Ukrainian literary studies from the past and present century. The main features of the soul topos in Lesmian’s poetry are its transcendent origin, connection to corporalness, death, individuality, permanent motion. In our study, we came to the conclusion that Man can exist only in conjunction with nature. With its help, he can know the otherworldly, God, but when he merges with it, he becomes a different form of being, but does not die. Because man can not know God, he is afraid of the unknown and the unconscious she suffers. Man seeks to know God, but he is not her guardian or ruler. The other world is a redeveloped, separate world, there are travels, the poet is constantly looking for similarities to the earth. It is fictional, therefore, M. Glovinsky calls it “represented”. B. Leśmian’s poetic world is sensational and the perception and understanding of his world is through our senses. The dream in poetry of Bolesław Leśmian is not only a leading motive but also an element of the composition and often acts as the theme of the poem. To represent his metaphysical world, Bolesław Leśmian uses the technique of installation, introduces new words, oxymorons and other artistic techniques characteristic of the epoch of modernism. According to metaphysics, the highest value is earthly existence, and vice versa: the impossibility of being, the inability to become bodily, which feels thinking, is the fundamental source of all suffering. Bolesław Leśmian seems to open the opposite world to us, the unceasing motion of that which does not exist, unmanaged in the side of existence, and realizes the painfulness of the unassembled form of existence, which is as strong as the suffering of the body.

Global research trends in materials chemistry: a scientometric perspective

This paper attempts to highlight quantitatively and qualitatively the growth and development of world literature on materials chemistry in terms of journal papers and citations as per Scopus database. A total of 67,375 papers and 493,098 citations received to these papers were downloaded from Scopus database for the period 2008-2012. The objective of the study was to perform a scientometric analysis of all materials chemistry research papers in the world. The parameters studied include year-wise growth of papers and citations, continent-wise distribution of papers and citations, country-wise distribution of papers, publication efficiency index and activity index, institute-wise distribution of papers and highly preferred journals.

ИЗУЧЕНИЕ МИРОВОЙ ЛИТЕРАТУРЫ В ПЕРМСКОМ ГОСУДАРСТВЕННОМ УНИВЕРСИТЕТЕ: ИСТОРИЧЕСКИЙ ВЗГЛЯД В БУДУЩЕЕ

It is the experience of teaching and studies of world literature at Perm State University that is analyzed from the historical perspective. The author of the essay shows what traditions were laid down as early as the foundation of the University in Perm in October 1916 and how profoundly they have been observed and developed since then. The stress is put on research, teaching and managerial activities of Professor Alexandre Belsky, the Head of the World Literature Department in 1964–1977. It is shown that teaching of world literature at PSU has been held since 1916 based on the analysis of the main artistic regularities, sustainable ‘models of literature’ characteristic of each period of the world literary process. It is emphasized that this analysis is held in diachronic and synchronic aspects with strong understanding how important and essential for the development of world literature the peculiarities of each national literature are.

Scientometric Analysis of the Literature on Textile Technology: A Global Perspective

This paper attempts to highlight quantitatively and qualitatively the growth and development of world literature on Textile technology in terms of publication output and citations as per Web of Science during 1999-2012. The objective of the study was to perform scientometric analysis of Textile technology publications in the world. The parameters studied include growth of publications and citations, continent wise distribution of publications and citations, country-wise distribution of publications.

Molten salts in nuclear science and technology: a scientometric perspective

This paper attempts to highlight quantitatively and qualitatively the growth and development of world literature on molten salts in terms of publication output as per INIS database (1972–2011). The objective of the study was to perform a scientometric analysis of all research publications on molten salts in the world. The parameters studied include year-wise growth of publications, country-wise distribution of publications, activity index of top countries, highly productive institutes, language-wise distribution of publications, distribution of publications as per document type, highly preferred journals and identification of highly cited publications on molten salts.

A Scientometric Assessment of Research Output in Textile Technology

This paper attempts to highlight quantitatively the growth and development of world literature on Textile Technology in terms of publication output as reflected in Scopus database. During 1988-2012 (25 years) a total of 79757 papers were published by the scholars in the field of Textile technology. This study analyses the research output in Textile technology during 1988-2012 on several parameters including its growth, ranking of authors, and global publication share,overall share of international collaborative papers and share of major collaborative partners.

Publication trends in materials science: a global perspective

This paper attempts to highlight quantitatively and qualitatively the growth and development of world literature on materials science in terms of publication output and citations as per Web of Science (2006---2010). The objective of the study was to perform a scientometric analysis of all materials science research publications in the world. The parameters studied include growth of publications and citations, continent-wise distribution of publications and citations, country-wise distribution of publications, domain-wise distribution of publications and citations, publication efficiency index, distribution of publications and citations according to number of collaborating countries, variation of mean impact factor in materials science domains, identification of highly cited publications and highly preferred journals, quality of research output and application of Bradford's law.

The present study attempts to highlight quantitatively the growth and development of world literature on nuclear waste management in terms of publication output as per international nuclear information system (INIS) database. During 1970-2009, a total of 44529 publications were published by the scientists in the field of nuclear waste management. The average number of publications published per year was 1113. The highest number of publications (2795) were published in 2001. The spurt in the literature output was reported during 1991.2007. There were 140 countries involved in research in this field. The USA topped the list with 6672 (14.98 %) publications followed by Japan with 2859 (6.42 %) publications and France with 2612 (5.87 %). Authorship and collaboration trend was towards multi-authored as more than 56 per cent of the publications were collaborative in nature. An intensive collaboration was found during 2000.2004. Maximum publications were from the domains, nuclear fuel processing and waste management aspect with 29159 publications followed by nuclear installations/reactors with 4188 publications and chemical analysis with 2452 publications. Japan Atomic Energy Agency (Japan) topped the list with 677 publications followed by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (India) with 533 publications. The most preferred journals by the scientists were: Transactions of the American Nuclear Society with 528 publications, Atw Internationale Zeitschrift fuer Kernenergie with 244 publications, AIP Conference Proceedings with 238 publications. Bhabha Scattering: A Scientometric View

This paper attempts to highlight quantitatively the growth and development of world literature on Bhabha Scattering in terms of publication output as per International Nuclear Information System (INIS) (1970-2008), Science Citation Index (1982-2008), and INSPEC (1969-2008) databases. During 1969-2008 a total of 1305 papers were published by the scientists in the field Bhabha Scattering. The average number of papers published per year was 32.62. The highest numbers of papers 66, were published in 1988 and 1997, respectively. There were 47 countries involved in the research in this field. Germany is the top producing country with 421 papers followed by USA with 420 papers, Italy with 293 papers, and Switzerland with 263 papers. Authorship and collaboration trends were towards multi-authored papers. There were 888 (68.05 per cent) collaborative papers. Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), Italy, topped the list with 256 papers followed by European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN), Switzerland, with 243 papers. The most preferred journals by the scientists were: Physics Letters-B with 188 papers, Nuclear Physics-B with 91 papers, and Physical Review-D with 90 papers. World literature on thorium research: A scientometric study based on Science Citation Index

This paper attempts to highlight quantitatively the growth and development of world literature on thorium in terms of publication output as per Science Citation Index (1982-2004). During 1982-2004 a total of 3987 papers were published by the scientists in the field 'thorium'. The average number of publications published per year were 173. The highest number of papers 249 were published in 2001. The spurt in the literature output was reported during 1991-2004.There were 94 countries involved in the research in this field. USA is the top producing country with 1000 authorships (21.11%) followed by India with 498 authorships (10.51%). Authorship and collaboration trend was towards multi-authored papers. Intensive collaboration was found during 1990-2004.One paper 'Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research - A 406 (3) (1998) 411-426' had 64 collaborators. There were 586 international collaborative papers. Bilateral collaboration accounted for 80.55 percent of total collaborative papers. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (India) topped the list with 153 authorships followed by Los Alamos National Laboratory (USA) with 105 authorships.The most preferred journals by the scientists were: Journal of Radioanalytical Nuclear Chemistry with 181 papers, Radiochimica Acta with 139 papers, Journal of Radioanalytical Nuclear Chemistry -Articles with 127 papers, Geochimica Cosmochimica Acta with 96 papers, Health Physics with 91 papers, Applied Radiation and Isotopes with 88 papers, Journal of Alloys and Compounds with 65 papers, Earth and Planetary Science letters with 59 papers and Chemical Geology, Indian Journal of Chemistry -A, Radiation Protection Dosimetry with 55 papers each. English was the most predominant language used by the scientists for communication. The high frequency keywords were: Thorium (500), Uranium (284), Separation (94), Thorium Isotopes (90), Thorium (IV) (86), Seawater (73), Solvent Extraction (70), and Rare Earth Elements (68).
