Student Perceptions of Desired Learning Media Technology Development

This study aimed to explore the perceptions of undergraduate students on suitable learning media for website development. A qualitative method with a case study type was used in this research. Fifty undergraduate students from the Educational Technology department participated. A questionnaire was used as the instrument to gather data on the necessary learning media. Data analysis was performed using NVivo 12 software, and results were presented as percentages based on two indicators: technology accessibility and learning materials. The study’s results and discussion highlighted two crucial factors influencing the choice of learning media in website development education. First, technology accessibility factors, encompass technological support and interaction. Second, learning material factors, including the type and complexity of the material. These findings offer valuable insights for developing more effective learning media in web development courses by taking these key factors into account.

Refocusing, Reimaging, dan Rebuilding Sekolah Muhammadiyah

The service partner is MI Muhammadiyah Sidoharjo (MIM Plasan). The condition of school among: student achievement in academic and non-academic activities still needs to be optimized, teachers have pedagogic competencies that still need to be improved, teachers' abilities in mastering technology to support learning need to be developed, do not yet have a school website, and communication networks and partnerships need to be strengthened. The purpose of this service is to rebuild the image of MIM Plasan so as to gain public trust. The methods carried out are champion school workshops, learning development workshops, IT integration workshops in learning, school web and social media development, and strengthening cooperation networks. The results obtained are: the formation of teams and strategies for champion schools, the development of more comprehensive teacher competencies in compiling kit and integrating them with IT, as well as social media and websites that are more updated regularly. The school feels a direct impact in service activities.

An Approach for Assessing the Usability of Academic Websites: An Application to Websites’ Universities

Websites became closely ingrained in our personal life and work styles, and they have already become crucial to the success of the business. The web development process is often ad-hoc and chaotic, lacking systematic and disciplined approaches and quality assurance and control procedures. To attain the desired quality of websites, a lot of quality factors should be considered. Web quality factors can be organized around three perspectives: visitor, owner, and developer. Each perspective is mainly interested in some quality factors than others. The visitor is mainly concerned with seven quality factors: usability, accessibility, content quality, credibility, functionality, security, and internationalization. This paper focuses on usability as an example of quality considerations that are more important from the visitor’s perspective. Therefore, this paper aims to propose an approach for enhancing the usability of websites. The proposed approach depends on a set of quality guidelines for three quality sub-factors of usability, which are: navigability, searching, and legibility. Finally, a case study is used to evaluate and illustrate the validity of the proposed approach. The outcomes are explained and interpreted.

Utilization of Adobe Creative Cloud Media to Support Project-Based Learning for Internship Students in the Digitaliz Unit at the Hasnur Centre Foundation

Adobe Creative Cloud is a comprehensive suite of applications offering advanced tools for graphic design, video editing, animation, photography, and web development. This study aims to explore the utilization of Adobe Creative Cloud in supporting project-based learning (PjBL) at Hasnur Centre Foundation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research, which includes observation, interviews, and documentation during the internship program held from February 28 to March 17, 2024. The internship program involved 61 students from Global Islamic Boarding School, who used various Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition in their projects. The results showed that the use of Adobe Creative Cloud enhanced students' creativity, collaboration, and material understanding. In conclusion, Adobe Creative Cloud is effective in supporting PjBL and increasing student motivation.

We analyse the application of AI in automating repetitive tasks, personalizing content, and optimizing website performance. The study utilizes a review of current literature and case studies to highlight key advancements and emerging trends. Our findings suggest that AI not only accelerates development processes but also introduces new paradigms for creating dynamic and adaptive web applications. This paper concludes by discussing the implications of AI advancements for the future of web development and potential areas for further research.

Before the advent of modern web development technologies, full-stack developers were the norm, handling both front-end and back-end aspects of applications. However, the current landscape has seen a separation of concerns, allowing front-end developers to focus solely on user interface elements like display and animation. This specialization has led to the rise of technologies like the React.js library. While React.js excels in client-side rendering, implementing server-side rendering requires the Next.js framework. This React framework offers a plethora of features, making it ideal for building the front-end of applications for University of Zawia (UZ)'s website and control panel applications. This study delves into the advantages and disadvantages of both React.js and Next.js as core technologies for UZ web application development. It aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the front-end development process and highlight the strengths and weaknesses of these technologies in shaping the user interface of the UZ application.

Exploring Perspectives on Stroke Standard Set Data Collection: A Qualitative Descriptive Study.

BACKGROUND: The International Consortium on Health Outcome Measurement developed a standard set for stroke (SSS) that includes patient-reported outcome measures to help capture patients' perspectives on their poststroke recovery. The objective of this study was to explore the experiences and perspectives of individuals who collected SSS data from patients who were admitted to hospital for a stroke. METHODS: A qualitative descriptive approach was taken. Semistructured, audio-recorded interviews were conducted with individuals employed at 2 acute neurological inpatient units in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Interviews were transcribed verbatim and written text responses were analyzed directly. Transcripts were coded line by line and then organized into 5 overarching themes: adoption, acceptance, appropriateness, feasibility, and sustainability. RESULTS: Six interviews were conducted with participants from varying roles (eg, nurses, manager, web developer, social worker, medical clerk). Participants reported that patients were receptive to completing the SSS. Follow-up phone calls provided a significant opportunity to monitor patients' recovery postdischarge. Many patients requested medical guidance and help navigating health and social resources for unmet stroke-related needs. Barriers to consistent SSS assessment included high employee turnover and lack of time, space, or capacity for follow-up. To sustain data collection, a dedicated, financially supported neurological nursing role was suggested. CONCLUSION: Participants were supportive of SSS data collection that could provide monitoring, oversight, and follow-up of stroke patients after discharge from acute care. However, the utility of the dataset is heavily dependent on having the data collection process properly resourced.

Decision-making model in digital commerce: electronic trust-based purchasing intention through online food delivery applications (OFDAs)

PurposeThis research aimed to raise awareness about the need for safety measures and features of online food delivery applications (OFDAs) to build electronic trust (e-trust) with augmented purchase intention among customers. Moreover, this study explores the attributes of electronic commerce (e-commerce) and how e-trust influences the purchasing intention of consumers while ordering food through OFDAs including fear of contagious diseases. Determinants of e-commerce in the digital era profoundly impact the performance of enterprises.Design/methodology/approachData from 493 food consumers collected from Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Pakistan, who were regular users of OFDAs. To scrutinize the dataset, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to assess the construct validity in this research study. Structural equation modeling (SEM), which is facilitated by Smart-PLS, was employed to examine the direct, moderation and mediation effects of the proposed model.FindingsResults revealed the positive and significant impact of the e-trust on the purchase intention. Additionally, e-trust acted as a mediating factor in the connection between electronic security (e-security), electronic privacy (e-privacy), usability, electronic payment (e-payment), electronic innovativeness (e-innovativeness) and the buyer's purchase intention. Furthermore, the fear of contagious viruses negatively moderated the e-trust and purchase intention that weakened buying behavior.Originality/valueThis research is primarily centered on enhancing the comprehension regarding safety orientation within the context of an evolving restaurant industry. The findings of this study hold substantial contributions for academics, web developers, application designers, OFDAs, restaurants and other businesses since they indicate the attractiveness of OFDAs in generating feelings of pleasure and boosting users' intentions to keep using the application.

OFL-W3: A One-Shot Federated Learning System on Web 3.0

Federated Learning (FL) addresses the challenges posed by data silos, which arise from privacy, security regulations, and ownership concerns. Despite these barriers, FL enables these isolated data repositories to participate in collaborative learning without compromising privacy or security. Concurrently, the advancement of blockchain technology and decentralized applications (DApps) within Web 3.0 heralds a new era of transformative possibilities in web development. As such, incorporating FL into Web 3.0 paves the path for overcoming the limitations of data silos through collaborative learning. However, given the transaction speed constraints of core blockchains such as Ethereum (ETH) and the latency in smart contracts, employing one-shot FL, which minimizes client-server interactions in traditional FL to a single exchange, is considered more apt for Web 3.0 environments. This paper presents a practical one-shot FL system for Web 3.0, termed OFL-W3. OFL-W3 capitalizes on blockchain technology by utilizing smart contracts for managing transactions. Meanwhile, OFL-W3 utilizes the Inter-Planetary File System (IPFS) coupled with Flask communication, to facilitate backend server operations to use existing one-shot FL algorithms. With the integration of the incentive mechanism, OFL-W3 showcases an effective implementation of one-shot FL on Web 3.0, offering valuable insights and future directions for AI combined with Web 3.0 studies.

Analysis of Manual and Automated Methods Effectiveness in Website Penetration Testing for Identifying SQL Injection Vulnerabilities

This research aims to identify vulnerabilities to SQL Injection attacks on websites through penetration testing using quantitative and descriptive methods. In the current digital era, data and information security has become a crucial aspect. One of the frequent threats is SQL Injection attacks, where attackers insert malicious SQL commands into queries executed by web applications. This study utilizes tools such as Burp Suite to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in a login form created by the researchers. The research process begins with the Pre-Engagement Interactions phase, which includes information gathering and setting the testing scope. Subsequently, Vulnerability Testing is conducted to evaluate existing weaknesses. The exploitation of vulnerabilities is performed using the 'OR'1'='1 technique, which successfully demonstrates that the website is vulnerable to SQL Injection attacks. The results of this study indicate that the login form on the website is susceptible to SQL Injection due to insufficient input validation and the use of dynamic SQL queries without prepared statements. Implementing stricter input validation techniques and using prepared statements has proven effective in enhancing website security. This research makes a significant contribution to the field of information system security, particularly in the prevention of SQL Injection attacks. The results of this study can serve as a practical guide for web developers in improving the security of their applications and provide a deeper understanding of the threats and mitigation techniques for SQL Injection.

Enhancing transparency and security in blood donation management through blockchain technology

In the context of the increasing importance of digitalization and cybersecurity, exploring the application of blockchain and smart contract technologies in blood donation management aims to enhance data transparency and privacy protection, addressing challenges in current healthcare systems. This paper explores the transformative potential of blockchain and smart contract technologies in digitalizing the blood donation process. By leveraging the Ethereum platform and employing a Browser/Server (B/S) architecture integrated with Solidity programming and web development practices, this paper proposes a novel framework designed to enhance the transparency, digitalization, and shared accessibility of blood donation data. The implementation of this system within a healthcare context promises to streamline the donation process, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of donor data, thereby fostering trust among all stakeholders involved. The findings indicate that the application of blockchain technology not only facilitates a more efficient and secure management of blood donation records but also sets a precedent for future healthcare innovations.

The rise of the egocentric brand and consumer: the case of soulbound tokens (SBT)

PurposeThe development of the next Web 3.0 digital generation will be built on a decentralized society and blockchain technologies such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and “soulbound tokens” (SBTs). These technologies will enable a digital proof of personhood that would make it possible for people to differentiate themselves through their unique credentials and reputation. SBTs can include unique information relating to the user’s identity that can enhance consumer’s self-perception, uniqueness and reputation building. The literature remains scant on the underlying consequences of SBTs from a consumer behavior perspective, and consequently the implications for brands given rising egocentric consumer needs which this study addresses.Design/methodology/approachThis study adopted an exploratory approach using in-depth interviews with experts to increase our understanding related to SBTs, and their potential impact on consumers’ behaviors and brands’ marketing strategies.FindingsThe findings unveiled an SBT-led egocentrism cycle comprising the following stages: penetration and proliferation of SBTs, consumers’ need for uniqueness and differentiation, brand’s reputation, brand’s personality matching, brand-based NFTs’ characteristics and shift in the competitive landscape for both consumers and brands.Originality/valueThis research is among the first to study SBTs and their potential impact in the Web 3.0 environment where digital identities and ownership are decentralized and authentic.

The article provides a detailed examination of the technologies used in an innovative service that implements voice and text chats as a web application, using an already implemented solution as an example. The main focus is on analyzing the architectural and technological solutions employed in the development of innovative web applications for voice and text chats. The article extensively discusses the functional capabilities, scalability of such systems. The service, provisionally named “Voice and Text Chat Service in the Context of Import Substitution”, serves as the object of analysis. Despite its functional similarities and user experience with leading communication platforms such as Discord, Telegram, and VKontakte, it is developed with specific requirements and the latest technologies in web development in mind. The article meticulously reviews the key components of the system, including server logic, client applications, and data infrastructure. Special attention is given to the integration of modern technologies into real products, including the use of cloud services, microservices architecture, and contemporary frameworks and protocols. The analysis covers not only technical aspects but also issues of usability, accessibility, and inclusivity, enabling the creation of more effective services that meet user needs. The article also highlights potential directions for further development of such platforms and presents examples of best practices in this field.

PERANCANGAN SISTEM INVENTORY BARANG LABORATORIUM TJKT BERBASIS WEB DI SMK DIPONEGORO BANYUPUTIH

This research aims to design a web-based TJKT laboratory inventory system at SMK Diponegoro Banyutputih. This system is designed to overcome the problem of manual inventory management, which often causes data inaccuracy and low efficiency. This system uses Laravel framework for web development and MySQL database for data storage. The main features developed include recording incoming and outgoing goods, stock tracking, and generating inventory reports. System testing shows that this system is able to improve the accuracy of inventory data and simplify the process of managing goods in the laboratory. With the implementation of this system, it is expected to achieve operational efficiency and better inventory management in the TJKT laboratory of SMK Diponegoro Banyutputih.

RECBOT: Web-based Laptop Recommendation using Machine Learning

Abstract: This project presents the development of a Laptop Recommendation System leveraging machine learning to assist users in selecting the most suitable laptop based on their specific requirements. By employing a content-based filtering algorithm, the system analyzes various attributes of laptops such as performance, price, and features to generate personalized recommendations. The machine learning model is trained on a comprehensive dataset of laptops, enabling it to accurately match user preferences with the optimal laptop options. The frontend of the system is developed using Vue.js, providing a dynamic and responsive user interface that enhances the overall user experience. This approach not only simplifies the decision-making process but also enhances user satisfaction by ensuring that the recommended laptops meet the individual needs of each user. Quality assessment of corporates’ sustainability web pages from accessibility, usability and security perspectives: Türkiye evidence

Corporate sustainability web pages reflect strategies to mitigate environmental impact, crucial for long-term business continuity. In this manner, ensuring accessibility, usability, and security in these pages is essential. This article evaluates the quality of sustainability web pages of corporates from accessibility, usability, and security perspectives. Our sample consists of 71 Turkish companies and the analysis was conducted on their sustainability web pages using automatic testing tools. Thus, the results show indicate a necessity to enhance the overall quality of sustainability web pages among Turkish corporations. The findings of this research also address the major problems and serve as constructive feedback for web administrators and developers, guiding them towards enhancements in accessibility, usability, and security aspects of these web pages. Therefore, this research seeks to provide valuable insights into the performance of these web pages, thereby contributing to the advancement of corporate sustainability communication and transparency.

Zooplankton fecal pellet flux drives the biological carbon pump during the winter–spring transition in a high‐Arctic system

AbstractRecent research highlighted significant marine biological activity during the Arctic winter, with poorly known implications for the biological carbon pump. We used moored instruments to (1) track the development of the pelagic food web of a high‐Arctic marine ecosystem from winter to spring, and (2) assess the role of zooplankton‐mediated processes in the sinking export of particulate organic carbon (POC). Zooplankton collected by a sediment trap at 40 m depth in Kongsfjorden showed a shift in species composition in February coinciding with an inflow of Atlantic water and the return of sunlight. The Atlantic copepod Calanus finmarchicus and the Arctic Calanus glacialis became dominant in the post‐inflow assemblage of large mesozooplankton. However, large copepods were never abundant (0.3–4.6 ind m−3) in January–April in the upper 40 m. Despite the low chlorophyll fluorescence, POC export increased substantially, from 2–13 mg C m−2 d−1 in January–February to 13–35 mg C m−2 d−1 in March–April 2014. By late March, zooplankton fecal pellets contributed largely (23–100%) to this significant POC export before the phytoplankton bloom. The lack of change in copepod and euphausiid population sizes suggests that enhanced feeding activity in the surface layer supported the increasing fecal pellet export. Our results revealed the swift response of active zooplankton in winter, evidenced by increased carbon export, to improved food availability.
