Principle of the electromagnetic testing based on the varied frequency domain and its realization

With the development of modern industry, the types and quantities of industrial equipment are increasing. In the long-term production process, various failure modes such as corrosion and cracks will occur, therefore the workload of inspection will increase dramatically. It is extremely urgent to study the combined non-destructive testing (NDT) technology and develop corresponding multi-functional instruments to achieve rapid inspection. In this paper, an electromagnetic testing principle based on the varied frequency domain is proposed. In the first place, spatial uniformity and spatial periodic static fields are generated by the arrangement of the permanent magnetizers, these static fields are fields with different spatial frequencies. In the second place, dynamic fields with different frequencies are generated by different frequencies excitations. Under the time-space electromagnetic field coupling, a new combined electromagnetic testing principle of magnetic flux leakage (MFL), guided wave (GW) and electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) is proposed. The MFL testing method can be realized based on the uniform static field, GW based on the interaction of spatial periodic static field and low frequency dynamic field, while EMAT based on the combination of uniform static field and high frequency dynamic field. According to the above principle, a multi-functional instrument is developed, which includes a medium-low frequency excitation unit for GW, a high frequency excitation unit for EMAT, corresponding receiving amplifiers for GW/EMAT/MFL, and USB-based data transmitters. Finally, the relevant performance tests are carried out, which laid the foundation for field application.

Exploration of Practical Teaching Mode of Electrical Control and Programmable Logic Controller Application Based on Project Teaching Method

In today’s prosperous industrial era, training electrical control personnel to meet the needs of the industry remains one of the important tasks of colleges and universities. How to effectively cultivate electrical control personnel has become an unavoidable issue for industry and colleges and universities. Aiming at the problems existing in the current teaching mode of electrical control and programmable logic controller (PLC) application, this paper proposes a new teaching mode based on the project teaching method. The methodology aims to increase student engagement, deepen understanding of theoretical knowledge, and reinforce the development of practical skills. Through the implementation of the project teaching method, it is expected to effectively cultivate electrical control talents to meet the needs of the industrial control industry and inject new vigor into the development of modern industry.

Organization of Effective Interaction Between the Employer and the Educational Organization in the Professional Training of Engineers

The development of modern industry actualizes the issues of organizing interaction with educational organizations that conduct professional training of engineers, because the "personnel shortage" is obvious. On the other hand, educational organizations cannot carry out professional training without focusing on the requirements of industry, and without fulfilling the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard 3++ in terms of practical training. Thus, the organization of effective interaction between the employer and the educational organization is necessary for both sides of the process.The authors of the article highlighted the conditions for the organization of interaction between an employer and an educational organization, compliance with which will help bring the professional training of engineering personnel to a qualitatively new level and make it the most effective. These authors include: taking into account and using the historically established experience of Russian and Soviet vocational education; application of the practice of interaction of foreign educational organizations; application of the principles of continuity, continuity; the intersection of the educational space of the educational organization and the internal environment of the enterprise; creation of a regional sectoral integration educational space.The purpose of the article is to describe the conditions for effective interaction between an employer and an educational organization. The authors give examples of foreign and domestic pedagogical experience that can be used in the practice of vocational training.Within the framework of this study, the following methods were used: the method of historical and pedagogical research was used to study foreign and domestic pedagogical experience. The conclusions were formulated through the use of the method of observation of the educational process and the analysis of pedagogical experience.The authors come to the conclusion that compliance with the conditions described in the publication is important and can be used to create a pedagogical system of professional training of engineers.

Efficient extraction of gold from model and real leach solutions using guanidinium ionic liquids

With the rapid development of modern industry, it is necessary to effectively recycle precious metals such as gold and palladium from e-waste. IL (ionic liquid) is an efficient extractant with high boiling points, non-flammability, and high thermal stability. The properties of IL can be improved by modifying the n-substituted groups of their cations, enhancing the separation efficiency of noble metals. Thus, two guanidinium ILs, with the substituents of -R and -OR, were synthesized to extract Au(III) from a HCl medium. These ILs exhibited excellent extraction properties, including high selectivities, rapid kinetics, and significant extraction capacities. The maximum extraction capacities of Au(III) by [diMTMG][Tf2N] and [diPTMG][Tf2N] were 519.4 mg/g and 427.9 mg/g, respectively, achieving rapid extraction equilibrium within 30 s. The introduction of O-containing functional atoms enhanced extraction capacity and selectivity. The extraction selectivity of the two ILs for real e-waste leachate was investigated in pure-ILs and diluent-involved systems, respectively. The results indicated that [diPTMG][Tf2N] showed excellent extraction of Au(III) from e-waste in both conditions.

Origami metamaterials for ultra-wideband and large-depth reflection modulation

The dynamic control of electromagnetic waves is a persistent pursuit in modern industrial development. The state-of-the-art dynamic devices suffer from limitations such as narrow bandwidth, limited modulation range, and expensive features. To address these issues, we fuse origami techniques with metamaterial design to achieve ultra-wideband and large-depth reflection modulation. Through a folding process, our proposed metamaterial achieves over 10-dB modulation depth over 4.96 – 38.8 GHz, with a fractional bandwidth of 155% and tolerance to incident angles and polarizations. Its ultra-wideband and large-depth reflection modulation performance is verified through experiments and analyzed through multipole decomposition theory. To enhance its practical applicability, transparent conductive films are introduced to the metamaterial, achieving high optical transparency (>87%) from visible to near-infrared light while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Benefiting from lightweight, foldability, and low-cost properties, our design shows promise for extensive satellite communication and optical window mobile communication management.

Environmentally Friendly Photothermal Membranes for Halite Recovery from Reverse Osmosis Brine via Solar-Driven Membrane Crystallization.

Modern society and industrial development rely heavily on the availability of freshwater and minerals. Seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) has been widely adopted for freshwater supply, although many questions have arisen about its environmental sustainability owing to the disposal of hypersaline rejected solutions (brine). This scenario has accelerated significant developments towards the hybridization of SWRO with membrane distillation-crystallization (MD-MCr), which can extract water and minerals from spent brine. Nevertheless, the substantial specific energy consumption associated with MD-MCr remains a significant limitation. In this work, energy harvesting was secured from renewables by hotspots embodied in the membranes, implementing the revolutionary approach of brine mining via photothermal membrane crystallization (PhMCr). This method employs self-heating nanostructured interfaces under solar radiation to enhance water evaporation, creating a carefully controlled supersaturated environment responsible for the extraction of minerals. Photothermal mixed matrix photothermal membranes (MMMs) were developed by incorporating graphene oxide (GO) or carbon black (CB) into polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) solubilized in an eco-friendly solvent (i.e., triethyl phosphate (TEP)). MMMs were prepared using non-solvent-induced phase separation (NIPS). The effect of GO or GB on the morphology of MMMs and the photothermal behavior was examined. Light-to-heat conversion was used in PhMCr experiments to facilitate the evaporation of water from the SWRO brine to supersaturation, leading to sodium chloride (NaCl) nucleation and crystallization. Overall, the results indicate exciting perspectives of PhMCr in brine valorization for a sustainable desalination industry.

Experimental study on the effect of modified heated surfaces on the heat transfer performance of deionized water and ethylene glycol binary mixtures

ABSTRACT With the development of modern industry, the demand for environmentally friendly working fluids is gradually increasing. Although binary mixtures have low global warming potential, their boiling heat transfer performance is generally lower than that of pure components. To enhance their applications in boiling heat transfer, it is of great research significance to improve the boiling heat transfer coefficient (HTC) of binary mixtures by changing the characteristics of the heated surface. This article used a mixture of 30% ethylene glycol and deionized water as the working fluid to experimentally study the effect of a series of modified heated surfaces on their boiling heat transfer performance. Including heated surfaces with different roughness polished with 320#, 800#, and 2000# sandpapers, heated surfaces covered with TiO2 and Al2O3 nanoparticle coatings with varying diameters of nano particles, and two state-of-art types of microstructure heated surfaces. The experimental results indicated that most modified heated surfaces can improve the boiling performance of the working fluid. Among them, the heated surfaces that changed the roughness due to sandpaper polishing had the least improvement effect on HTC. The microstructure surfaces had the best performance in HTC improvement. The reason for this phenomenon is that the microstructure not only changes the roughness of the heated surface but also increases the heat transfer area. Although nanoparticle coatings enhanced the heat transfer performance, the TiO2 nanoparticle coatings showed better performance than Al2O3, which may be related to the stability of nanoparticle coatings.

Research on the competitive landscape of global rare earth resources demand

AbstractRare earth elements play a crucial role in modern industrial development. However, the global supply and demand dynamics of rare earth resources have encountered significant challenges due to the escalating conflict between rapidly increasing demand and limited supply in the international market. This study utilizes a gray prediction model to project the future demand of major rare earth‐consuming countries and examines the competitive landscape of global rare earth resource demand. The findings indicate that: (1) China's rare earth consumption is expected to continue its upward trend, while the consumption in the United States and Japan may decline; (2) China, the United States, and Japan are likely to maintain their positions as major consumers of rare earth elements, although the competition for rare earth resources among these countries may weaken; (3) the United States and Japan heavily rely on the import of rare earth upstream products, while China's reliance on midstream and downstream imports remains prominent. Finally, based on these research conclusions, the article presents corresponding policy recommendations.

A deep learning-based intelligent online warning method for gear wear damage based on oil vibration

Gearboxes, as essential connecting and transmission components in mechanical equipment, have been widely used in modern industrial development. Gearboxes are prone to malfunction or even failure due to complex structures and harsh working environments. This article takes online monitoring of gear wear and damage as the research object and studies the fault diagnosis method of gear multi-source heterogeneous parameters for oil monitoring and vibration monitoring. The Yolov5 model is used to identify multi-objective wear particles. The experimental outcomes suggest that the optimized detection method can sensitively reflect the evolution process of gear wear.

Investigation of Heat Transfer Performance in Deionized Water–Ethylene Glycol Binary Mixtures during Nucleate Pool Boiling

Pool boiling heat transfer is recognized as an exceptionally effective method, widely applied across various industries. The adoption of non-azeotropic binary mixtures aligns with the environmental objectives of modern industrial development and enhances the coefficient of performance (COP) in numerous systems. Therefore, investigating the boiling heat transfer characteristics of these mixtures is crucial to improving their industrial usability. In this study, mixtures of ethylene glycol and deionized water (EG/DW) in varying concentrations were chosen as the working fluids. A comprehensive experimental setup was developed, followed by a series of experiments to assess their pool boiling performance. Simultaneously, the thermophysical parameters of these mixtures underwent detailed examination and analysis. The research revealed that the concentration of EG in the mixture markedly affects its thermal properties and temperature glide, both of which are crucial in influencing the heat transfer coefficient. Additionally, six established heat transfer coefficient prediction correlations, primarily designed for pure fluids, have been employed. However, their application to non-azeotropic mixtures under experimental conditions revealed significant deviations. To address this issue, the present study modified existing correlations with the temperature slip characteristics of non-azeotropic mixtures. This process involved recalibrating the wall superheat values in the correlations to reflect the local temperature differential at the boiling point, thereby customizing them for application to non-azeotropic mixtures. The modified correlations highlighted the unique behaviors of non-azeotropic mixtures in boiling heat transfer, demonstrating improved compatibility with these mixtures in a deviation within a permissible 20% range compared with experimental results.

Facile Synthesis of a Novel AgIO3/CTF Heterojunction and Its Adsorption-Photocatalytic Performance with Organic Pollutants.

With the development of modern industry, the issue of water pollution has garnered increasing attention. Photocatalysis, as a novel green environmental technology that is resource-efficient, environmentally friendly, and highly promising, has found extensive applications in the field of organic pollutant treatment. However, common semiconductor materials exhibit either a relatively low photocatalytic efficiency in the visible light range or an inefficient separation of photogenerated charges, resulting in their limited ability to harness solar energy effectively. Consequently, the development of new photocatalysts has become a pivotal focus in current photocatalysis research to enhance solar energy utilization. This research provides a brief explanation of the photocatalytic mechanism of the AgIO3/CTF heterojunction photocatalyst. Due to the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect, the Ag nanoparticles demonstrate significant absorption in the visible light region, playing a crucial role in the highly efficient photocatalytic reduction of organic pollutants.

Finite element analysis and optimal design of robotic arm

With the rapid development of modern industry and Robotics, industrial robots are widely used in manufacturing. However, because of the high price of industrial robot systems on the market, industrial robots are limited to the production of small and medium-sized enterprises. Against this background, this paper fully investigates the development process and research status of industrial manipulators at home and abroad, and designs a six-degree-of-freedom economic industrial manipulator. ANSYS Workbench software is used to analyze the statics of the arm and the whole machine, and the equivalent stress cloud map and the displacement and deformation cloud chart are obtained. The static strength and stiffness of the large arm and the whole machine are analyzed, and the reliability of the structure is verified. Then adopting the optimization module in the software, the multi-objective optimization design of the large arm is carried out. The size of the structure is reduced and the quality is reduced by 14.7% in the case that the large arm meets the requirements of the allowable stress and the maximum displacement. The target of the optimization design is realized.

The Application of Fair Value Measurement in Investment Real Estate

Investment real estate has the characteristics of large investment scale and slow monetization speed. Many enterprises usually adopt a cost measurement model. With the establishment of China's market economy system, the difference between the construction price and sale price of investment real estate under the cost measurement model is relatively large, far greater than the fair value and sale price of investment real estate, which cannot adapt to the development of modern real estate industry. The use of fair value model has improved the timeliness and quality of accounting information, and objectively reflects the market value of real estate enterprises. This article focuses on fair value measurement and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of this model in the application of investment real estate. At the same time, corresponding suggestions are proposed for the problems that arise during the use process.

Local deposition characteristics of calcium carbonate fouling in different enhanced tubes

With the development and advancements of modern industry, the application of enhanced tubes is becoming more and more extensive in various engineering domains and technological applications. When water is used as the working fluid for thermal energy utilization, there is a large chance of accumulating a large amount of fouling on the surface of the enhanced tubes. This paper establishes a mathematical model of the local fouling deposition of calcium carbonate in enhanced tubes. The model is used to simulate and compare the local fouling characteristics of CaCO3 in different tubes. In addition, a study is conducted on the effects of different inlet flow rates, water temperature, and calcium carbonate concentrations on the local fouling resistance of bellows tubes. The results showed that the local fouling resistance (average) and local fouling resistance of enhanced tubes is smaller than that of circular tubes. Additionally, the bellows tubes yielded the best scale inhibition effect. The obtained local fouling resistance is also found to change periodically along the length of the tube. The local fouling resistance decrease with an increase in the inlet flow rate and wall temperature, and increases with an increase in the calcium carbonate solution concentration.

Construction of power load control and management terminal operation system based on machine learning technology

With the increasing Power Load (PL), the operation of the power system is facing increasingly severe challenges. PL control is an important means to ensure the stability of power system operation and power supply quality. However, traditional PL control methods have limitations and cannot meet the requirements of load control in the new era of power systems. This is because with the development of modern industry and commerce, the demand for electricity is gradually increasing. This article constructed a PL control and management terminal operating system based on machine learning technology to achieve intelligent management of PL, so as to improve the operational efficiency and power supply quality of the power system. This article identified the design concept of a PL control management terminal operating system based on machine learning technology by reviewing the current research status of PL control technology. Based on the operational characteristics and data characteristics of the power system, this article selected suitable machine learning algorithms to process and analyze load data, and established a prototype of a PL control and management terminal operating system based on machine learning technology, so as to realize intelligent processing and analysis of load data and conduct experimental verification. The experimental results show that through the comparative study of 6 sets of data in the tertiary level, the difference between the system and the real tertiary level is 0.079 kw, 0.005 kw and 0.189 kw respectively. Therefore, therefore, the average difference between the predicted value and the measured value of the PL system is about 0.091 kw. This indicated that the system had high accuracy and real-time performance in predicting PL, which could effectively improve the load control efficiency and power supply quality of the power system. The PL control management terminal operating system based on machine learning technology constructed in this article provided new ideas and methods for the development of PL control technology. In the future, system algorithms can be further optimized and a more intelligent PL control and management terminal operating system can be constructed to cope with the growing PL and increasingly complex power system operating environment.

Comparing UWCAES and VRFB for Energy Storage Based on Characteristics

Energy storage technology has always been an important direction of modern industrial development. As a relatively new energy storage technology, UWCAES and VRFB have been studied and discussed respectively on their roles and characteristics, but there are few studies on the comparison of their technical characteristics. Therefore, by introducing the operation principle of UWCAES and VRFB, and comparing their application characteristics respectively, this thesis summarizes and compares the performance of these two energy storage technologies in terms of availability and reliability, facility configuration and location choices, and sustainable development. It is found that both UWCAES and VRFB have high efficiency. Due to their characteristics that are less restricted by geology and adjustable facilities, UWCAES and VRFB are highly applicable. UWCAES has achieved sustainability goals by replacing nonrenewable sources with greener energy and VRFB has enabled the use of recyclable and low-degradation materials to achieve sustainable and long-lasting uses. But both technologies are still in the development stage and have their problems to solve, such as the placement and tightness of tanks in UWCAES and the low energy density of VRFB.

An enhanced memetic algorithm with hierarchical heuristic neighborhood search for type-2 green fuzzy flexible job shop scheduling

The green flexible job shop has received increasing attention due to the development of modern industry and the improvement of environmental protection awareness. Meanwhile, in customized manufacturing, the processing time cannot be exactly predicted. Therefore, it can be predicted by the type-2 fuzzy system, which can effectively characterize the uncertainty of processing time. This work aims to solve the green type-2 fuzzy flexible job shop problem (T2FJSP), considering minimizing total energy consumption (TEC) and the makespan simultaneously. Memetic algorithms are used for the T2FJSP, however, most of them do not allocate local search opportunities based on the quality of solutions, resulting in the waste of computing resources. In this paper, an enhanced memetic algorithm with hierarchical heuristic neighborhood search (EMAH) is proposed to overcome the shortcoming. EMAH has the following features: (i) a cooperative heuristic initialization is designed by combining six heuristics to generate high-quality solutions; (ii) a hierarchical heuristic neighborhood search strategy is proposed to better enhance the exploitation by allocating computing resources based on the quality of the solutions; and (iii) an energy-saving strategy is designed to decrease the makespan and TEC. The effectiveness of EMAH is verified by comparing it with the state-of-the-art algorithms in a T2FJSP benchmark. The results indicate the superiority of EMAH in solving the T2FJSP.

Institutional mosaic of financial institutions in the late Qing China and synthesis of organizational forms: from piaohao and qianzhuang to the central bank

Objective: to determine the peculiarities of forming the banking system in late imperial China in terms of the interaction between traditional Chinese banking institutions, imported institutional forms, and state reform strategies. Methods: qualitative methods (comparative analysis, generalization), historical and genetic method.Results: based on a wide array of historical data, the history of the Chinese banking system development during the Qin dynasty decline is demonstrated. By the time of the Chinese economy “forced opening” by Western powers during the Opium Wars, China had its own quasi-banking institutions based on the established clan networks of trade organizations that covered the credit needs of the traditional economy. The local development of modern industries in China required modern approaches to the organization of banking activities. The lacuna was filled by foreign banks, which actually monopolized modern banking in China, and later by state-owned banks. It is shown that by the end of the Qing period all three participants of the banking industry – traditional banks, foreign banks and state banks – covered the needs of the Chinese economy. It is concluded that the banking industry of the late imperial period was a mosaic institutional fabric, combining both traditional and westernized elements and embedding clan ties traditional for China.Scientific novelty: the article is the first attempt in Russia to comprehensively examine the evolution of the banking system of late Qing China.Practical significance: the main conclusions of the article can be used in scientific and pedagogical activities in the study of economic history of traditional China, and may enrich the concepts of institutional economics concerning the limits and possibilities of institutional transformations.

Investigation of the Impact of Castor Biofuel on the Performance and Emissions of Diesel Engines

Fossil fuel is a non-renewable fuel, and with the development of modern industry and agriculture, the storage capacity of fossil fuels is constantly decreasing. In this study, a systematic study and analysis were conducted on the combustion characteristics, engine performance, and exhaust emission characteristics of castor biodiesel–diesel blends and pure diesel fuel in different proportions at different speeds of a single-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine under constant load. The castor biodiesel required for the experiment is generated through an ester exchange reaction and mixed with diesel in proportion to produce biodiesel–diesel blends. The experimental results show that as an oxygenated fuel with a higher cetane number, the CO, HC, and smoke emissions of diesel and B80 blend fuel at 1800 rpm were reduced by 16.9%, 31.6%, and 68%, respectively. On the contrary, the NOx and CO2 emissions increased by 17.3% and 34.6% compared to diesel at 1800 rpm. In addition, due to its high viscosity and low calorific value, the brake thermal efficiency and brake-specific fuel consumption of the biodiesel–diesel blends are slightly lower than those of diesel, but the biodiesel–diesel blends exhibit lower exhaust gas temperatures. Comparing B80 and diesel fuel at 1800 rpm, the BSFC of diesel at 1800 rpm is 3.12 kg/W·h, whereas for B80 blended fuel, it increases to 4.2 kg/W·h, and BTE decreases from 25.39% to 21.33%. On the contrary, B60 blended fuel exhibits a lower exhaust emission temperature, displaying 452 °C at 1800 rpm. Based on the experimental results, it can be concluded that castor biodiesel is a very promising clean alternative fuel with low waste emissions and good engine performance.

A rolling bearing fault diagnosis method based on a new data fusion mechanism and improved CNN

The development of modern industry has accelerated the need for intelligent fault diagnosis. Nowadays, most bearing fault diagnosis methods only use the information of one sensor, and the diagnostic knowledge contained in single-sensor data is often insufficient, which leads to insufficient diagnostic accuracy under complex working conditions. In addition, although convolutional neural network (CNN) has been widely used in fault diagnosis, the network structures used are still relatively traditional, and the ability of feature extraction is relatively poor. To solve the problems, firstly, this paper innovatively uses coordinate attention (CA) to more fully mine fusion information after concatenate (Cat) operation and proposes a new data fusion mechanism, Cat-CA. Then an improved Residual Block is proposed, and a novel improved CNN is built by stacking this Block. Finally, the Cat-CA-ICNN is built by combining Cat-CA and improved CNN, and its effectiveness and superiority are verified using two datasets.
