Thermal reactivity and gas–solid product evolution during coal catalytic combustion: An experimental study

To achieve efficient and clean coal combustion, catalytic combustion technology has received widespread attention. This paper systematically studied the influence of calcium-based compounds on the thermal reactivity and gas–solid two-phase product evolution behavior of different coal using TG-MS and FTIR analysis, combining kinetics and thermodynamics methods, the catalytic coal mechanism was discussed. Results demonstrated that both catalysts improved the combustion reactivity, the burnout temperatures of lignite, bituminous coal and anthracite were reduced by 30.75 °C, 53 °C and 25.5 °C respectively with CaO, as well as decreased by 24.75 °C, 55.5 °C and 29 °C respectively with CaCl2. Meanwhile, it was worth noting that the activation energy of three coals was also reduced. CaCl2 was more likely to bind with the C = O functional group on the surface of coal, forming CO-Ca2+ complexes, resulting in a decrease in the content of C = O and C-O. While CaO tended to absorb volatile matter, causing local overheating and promoting the breakage of side chains and bridge bonds. Besides, the calcium-based compounds advanced the gas evolution peak of combustion and the emissions of CO2, NO2 and SO2 were effectively controlled. These results aimed at providing a new reference direction for further industrial development of clean coal combustion technology.

Cancer incidence in Swedish oil refinery workers exposed to benzene

BackgroundOil refinery workers are exposed to benzene, which is a well-known cause of leukaemia, but results on leukaemia in oil refinery workers have been mixed, and the data on workers’ exposure is limited. Oil refinery workers are also exposed to asbestos and several studies have shown increased risk of mesothelioma. AimThe objective was to investigate cancer incidence, especially leukaemia, at low to moderate exposure to benzene in an update of a previous study of employees at three Swedish oil refineries. MethodsCancer incidence was followed up in 2264 men (1548 refinery operators) employed at three oil refineries in Sweden for at least one year. Job types and employment times were collected from complete company files. A retrospective assessment of the benzene exposure was performed by occupational hygienists in collaboration with the refineries using historic measurements as well as detailed information on changes in the industrial hygiene and technological developments. Cases of cancer were retrieved by a linkage with the Swedish Cancer Register through 35–47 years of follow-up and standardized incidence ratios (SIR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated. ResultsIn total, 258 tumors had occurred versus 240 expected (SIR 1.07; 95% CI 0.95–1.21). There were 10 cases of leukaemia, all in refinery operators (SIR 2.4; 95% CI 1.18–4.51). There were three cases of pleural mesothelioma, two of which in refinery operators. The mean estimated cumulative benzene exposure for the cases of leukaemia was 7.9 ppm-years (median 4.9, range 0.1–31.1). DiscussionThe study suggests that low to moderate average cumulative benzene exposure increases the risk of leukaemia. Limitations include the modest number of cases and potential misclassification of exposure. ConclusionThe present study indicated an increased risk of leukaemia in male oil refinery workers with low to moderate exposure to benzene.

Federated Learning-Oriented Edge Computing Framework for the IIoT.

With the maturity of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, applications of AI in edge computing will greatly promote the development of industrial technology. However, the existing studies on the edge computing framework for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) still face several challenges, such as deep hardware and software coupling, diverse protocols, difficult deployment of AI models, insufficient computing capabilities of edge devices, and sensitivity to delay and energy consumption. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a software-defined AI-oriented three-layer IIoT edge computing framework and presents the design and implementation of an AI-oriented edge computing system, aiming to support device access, enable the acceptance and deployment of AI models from the cloud, and allow the whole process from data acquisition to model training to be completed at the edge. In addition, this paper proposes a time series-based method for device selection and computation offloading in the federated learning process, which selectively offloads the tasks of inefficient nodes to the edge computing center to reduce the training delay and energy consumption. Finally, experiments carried out to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are reported. The model training time with the proposed method is generally 30% to 50% less than that with the random device selection method, and the training energy consumption under the proposed method is generally 35% to 55% less.

Neo-Industrial Economy and Institutional Mechanisms for Ensuring Its Sustainable Development in the Context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution

Sustainable innovative development of the neo-industrial economy affects the level of well-being of the society. This makes it possible to balance the accumulation of assets, support the education and healthcare systems, and pursue an effective environmental policy. The Fourth Industrial Revolution can significantly change the structure of the economy, increasing the role of service industries, information, data processing and transmission, which are equated with strategic resources. End-to-end technologies have begun to have a significant impact on the development of industrial technologies, increasing the efficiency of production processes and coordinating the activities of space-separated companies through global networks. In the production sector, there is a constant increase in labor productivity. Non-industrial technologies are becoming the dominant factor in the sustainable innovative development of the economy in accordance with the previously existing market principles and rules. The complexity of the sustainable development of the neo-industrial economy in terms of digital transformation presupposes the active use of institutional mechanisms.

To be an eco- and tech-friendly society: Impact research of green finance on AI innovation

Green finance can effectively support industrial upgrading and technology development, such as artificial intelligence (AI). In this paper, we attempt to pursue the possibility of a win-win situation for achieving an eco- and tech-friendly society. By asking where and how we could develop green finance and AI innovation simultaneously, this paper conducts an empirical investigation on the influence of green finance on the development of AI in China from 2011 to 2020. Based on the panel data from the 30 provinces, we introduce spatial measurement, policy effect, heterogeneity, and threshold analyses to present deeper insights into the impact of green finance on AI innovations. Indeed, green finance could promote the progress of AI innovation. China's green finance pilot policy is verified to promote the progress of local AI innovations. Furthermore, the spatial spillover effect and regional heterogeneity are observed as well. The promotion effect is most significant in the western area, where the green finance index is relatively low. Besides, the threshold analysis also considers how to increase the marginal effect of green finance in different areas. Finally, several policy recommendations are proposed, which contribute to providing specific directions for the policymakers to improve AI innovation and achieve sustainable development at the same time.

Acceptability and Sensory Evaluation of Bottled Spanish-Style Rice Eel with Natural Flavorings

Rice eel’s acceptability as a table food has been tarnished due to its distinct fishy smell. Hence, most Filipinos considered it as the least preferred viand resulting in the least capture for food that hastened its invasiveness. To lessen the impact of rice eel’s presence in rice farms and encourage its utilization, a post-harvest processing technology with emphasis on bottling was conducted. Three falvorings were tested such as pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius), lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus) and guava (Psidium guajava) and were evaluated in terms of appearance, texture, aroma and taste by fifty (50) panelist using a 9-point hedonic scale and determined its general acceptability using the acceptability composite index. Four treatments were prepared following the ingredients and procedure of the Industrial Technology Development Institute – Department of Science and Technology (DOST-ITDI). Sensory evaluation shows that Treatment 1 (control), 2 (pandan) and 4 (guava) were statistically not significant in terms of appearance, texture, aroma and taste while Treatment 3 (lemon grass) is significantly lower among treatments. Based on acceptability composite index, Treatment 2 (pandan) rated as rank 1 followed by the Treatment 1 (control), Treatment 4 (guava) and Treatment 3 (lemon grass). It was noted, that the texture and aroma of bottled Spanish- style rice eel with pandan got the highest acceptable rating among the treatments while appearance and taste had the highest acceptability in Treatment 1 (or control). A separate study on the shelf-life and waste utilization of rice eel is highly recommended.

Investment Climate and Role of Technological Industrial Development Zones in Direct Foreign Investment Inflow in North Macedonia

This article investigates the establishment of Technological Industrial Development Zones (TIDZ) in North Macedonia. These zones are aimed at attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and represent an innovative strategy to promote business relations that were previously unavailable in North Macedonia. If their output is sold to international markets, companies operating within the TIDZ benefit from incentives and subsidies. In addition to the legally announced incentives available to investors within the TIDZ, the government offers extra incentives on a case-by-case basis, in agreements with significant overseas partners. Since the introduction of this approach, the government has made a public display of its benefits. The consequences of the implemented strategy for FDI attraction deserves an effort for its analysis by all available means. Using the available data and sources from relevant documents, the focus in the paper will be put on the impact of the creation of such zones on the FDI inflow. North Macedonia is an attractive investment destination for international investors because of the fiscal, economic, and financial benefits provided by the actual law, as well as the excellent business climate, as measured by the ‘Doing Business’ indicator.

Development design of an IoT-based smart home monitoring system with security features

<div style="text-align: start;" align="center"><p>A smart home is a system that has been programmed and can work automatically by utilizing internet of things (IoT) technology, this system can control various electronic devices in the home. This paper presents a design for developing an IoT-based smart home monitoring system with the addition of security features. This research aims to design and develop a smart home monitoring system that uses the IoT which operates via the web and improves the security aspects of the system. This research includes the development of hardware and software that enables efficient and safe monitoring and control of various aspects of the home via smartphone or computer-based devices using resources from solar power plants. This system relies on the use of a Raspberry Pi as a microcontroller and several sensors. In this context has important value in maintaining user security, and privacy and supports the growing development of the smart home technology industry.</p></div>

A Condition Monitoring Method of Hydraulic Gear Pumps Based on Multilevel Mechanism-Data Fusion

Pumps are important components in aviation fuel hydraulic systems, and thanks to the development of sensor technology and industrial intelligence technology, it is possible to achieve efficient state monitoring of pumps. However, when data quality is poor or the amount of data is small, a single data-driven model may not be able to meet diagnostic accuracy. A condition monitoring method for hydraulic gear pumps based on mechanism-data fusion is proposed. The method combines a mechanism model based on the volumetric efficiency formula with a data-driven model based on vibration signals. First, the parameters of volumetric efficiency are solved by fitting the pressure–flow relationship. Subsequently, a multichannel fusion and multikernel function-weighted ensemble support vector classification (MCMK-SVC) is developed, to establish a data-driven model. Finally, through data-level fusion, feature-level fusion, and decision-level fusion, a condition monitoring model based on mechanism-data fusion is built. Experimental verification shows that the accuracy of the three levels of fusion models exceeds 96.9%. Compared to the single data-driven model or other traditional data-driven models, the accuracy of the proposed method has improved by 3% to 33%, demonstrating the effectiveness of the mechanism-data fusion model.

Hematological parameters of blood of the heifers of different lines of the Kazakh white-headed breed

The experience of importing high-yielding foreign producers has shown the disadvantages of this practice due to low adaptation of the imported animals and difficulties in their full acclimatization to new conditions of housing and feeding. As a result, at best it prevents them from realizing their potential, at worst it contributes to their rapid drop out of the reproduction process. Domestic breeds are adapted to Russian conditions, but need to improve their productive qualities. Therefore, selection and breeding work is of key importance in the technological development of the beef cattle breeding industry of our country. We conducted studies on the heifers of the Kazakh white-headed breed of the Donguz 7139, Korol 13682NV-6 and Zolotoi 3423 lines in the conditions of the APC (collective farm) "Anikhovsky" of the Adamovsky district of the Orenburg region. Blood sampling of the heifers at 15 months of age (n = 18) was carried out in the morning before feeding from the jugular vein, for morphological studies – in vacuum tubes with an anticoagulant, for biochemical – with a coagulation activator. It was found that the heifers of the Zolotoi 3423 line surpassed the animals of the Donguz 7139 line in blood content of total protein (79,9 g/l) by 5.6%, albumins (36,8 g/l) by 6.35%, AST (27,8 Un/l) by 4.27%, ALT (105,0 Un/l) by 14.2%, erythrocytes (5,67 ∙ 10[1]2 cells/l) by 15.24% and hemoglobin (79,6 g/l) by 12.42%, that indicates a high rate of metabolism and redox processes in their body and eliminates the hidden risks of stability, adaptability of the gene pool of a new breeding form. Taking into account the productivity indicators given in the previous article, as well as the results obtained in the course of the present study, the creation and increase in the number of animals of the Zolotoi 3423 line is promising in breeding and breeding work with a herd of the Kazakh white-headed cattle in the APC (collective farm).

Synthesis of polyacrylate-divinylbenzene hydroxamic resins and its gallium adsorption performance in sulfuric acid solution

In this study, the adsorption behavior of gallium ions on a synthesized hydroxamic acid resin from sulfuric acid solution was investigated, aiming to recover Ga directly from pressure leaching solution in zinc hydrometallurgical plant. Hydroxamic acid chelating resin (HA-PDR) was prepared by introducing hydroxamic acid groups into the pre-made polyacrylate resin (PDR) with methyl ester group through hydroxylamine reaction. Polyacrylate-divinylbenzene hydroxamic resins with a nitrogen content of up to 3.85 % were obtained at a divinylbenzene (DVB) content of 13 % and an optimal raw material ratio of NH2OH·HCl: NaOH: −CH3 = 4:4.5:1 (molar ratio). The obtained materials was characterized using FTIR, XPS and SEM to verify the successful introduction of hydroxamic acid groups. The results of adsorption experiments showed that the adsorption capacity of 27.65 mg/g could be obtained with a chemical, multilayered, and heterogeneous adsorption process, and film diffusion and intra-particle diffusion rate controlled mainly the adsorption efficiency. It has been proven that polyacrylate-divinylbenzene hydroxamic resins has extremely high adsorption selectivity for gallium in sulfuric acid solution, and the desorption effect is obvious, which can be applied promisingly in the industrial development of gallium extraction technology from zinc leaching residue in sulfuric acid system.

The driving effect of technological innovation on green development: From the perspective of efficiency

Green development is considered to be an effective way to achieve win-win between economy and environment, and technological innovation is the core driving force of green transformation development. High-tech industries are the core industries of industrial technology and economic development, and their technological innovation ability and green development level are important supports for optimizing the national industrial structure and promoting the green transformation of industries. Therefore, based on the concept of innovation and green development, this paper analyzes the industrial development rule from the perspective of the interaction mechanism between technological innovation and green development, to provide theoretical reference for the design of corresponding development strategies and planning. Hence, NSBM model is constructed to evaluate the efficiency of multi-stage technology innovation and deconstruct the evolution law of technology innovation value chain of high-tech industry. Secondly, GML model is used to evaluate green total factor productivity and clarify the green and high-quality development status of high-tech industry. Finally, the truncated regression model is constructed to analyze the factors affecting the external environment of green transformation development. The results indicate that the upgrading of technology innovation value chain is conducive to promoting green transformation development.

The director’s approach to film text in movies following the rule of three unities

The purpose of the research. To identify the director’s tools for conveying the authorial understanding of history. To prove that the director’s authorial vision in working on film history does not always depend on the script written by the playwright. The article explores the directorial interaction with the film text in fiction films and identifies two forms of director’s engagement with film dramaturgy and examines the distinction between the “theatrical” approach to working with film text and the authorial interpretation of the story. The object of the research is films with realized unity of time, place, and action, serving as examples of the space for potential directorial authorial approach.
 The methodology. In the article the following scientific methods are applied: research (to collect information about the chosen topic), deductive method (to identify certain stylistic features of films with the rule of three unities), comparative method (to identify the features of the director’s work), and generalization method (to write conclusions).
 The results. In conclusion, films with embodied unity of place, action and time serve as a vivid basis for illustrating the interaction of the director with the cinematic context: working on such projects requires the ability to create a complex cinematic context and tell a story within limited possibilities without violating the artificially defined canon of the three unities. Through the analysis of selected cinematic contexts and the identification of the director’s toolkit used in them, authorial experiments with local narratives were divided into two groups. The first group included films in which the director works in a theatrical manner and simply transfers the action from the script to the screen, while the second group includes films with an existing authorial interpretation of the story, where the rule of the three unities is complemented by the director’s concept. Studying the director’s approaches of the second group allowed for the identification of four main tools for narrating a complex cinematic context, which complement or even contradict the script content: 1) the director-author’s chamber view (“camera-pen”) — to convey the directorial intonation of attitude towards characters and emphasize his authorial meanings and accents; 2) the chamber view of the character-author to convey his thoughts, attitude towards other characters, motivations, internal events, emotions, experiences, etc.; 3) audiovisual expression of the character’s state and associations through associative editing, to narrate the character’s perception of events; 4) a special, non-mediated cinema-theatrical actor’s existence to narrate complex characters and human relationships. None of these tools is usually inherent in the screenplay of the film, therefore, their application does not affect storytelling but only complements it with new meanings.
 The scientific novelty. It is the first comprehensive study of the director’s aspect of interaction with the film text, depending on the author’s intention.
 The practical significance. Prospects for further research are related to the following aspects of the evolution of cinema art, which require scientific attention: the methodology of directorial interaction with text and subtexts; directorial innovations in “screenlife” films, where the rule of the three unities is observed; director’s approaches to the cinematic adaptation of theatrical plays, and so on. Overall, the analysis of directorial tools is a dynamic and relevant process in light of the development of cinema industry technologies and the desire to experiment with formats and meanings of authorial expression.

Nanocomposite membranes comprising covalent organic framework and polymer of intrinsic microporosity for efficient CO2 separation

The fabrication of new mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs) with superior gas permeability and selectivity are highly sought for industrial development of membrane separation technology for CO2 capture. This study reports improvement in CO2 permeability and selectivity by employing porous covalent organic framework (COF-TpPa-1). Herein, we report a novel PIM-1 doped with COF-TpPa-1 in various concentrations ranging from 0 to 10 wt% to prepare COF-TpPa-1/PIM-1 MMMs. Good compatibility between COF-TpPa-1 particles and PIM-1 matrix rendered an ideal interfacial morphology. The MMMs composed of 7 wt% COF-TpPa-1 exhibit a CO2 permeability of 6336 Barrer with an enhancement of 104 % compared to pristine sample and CO2/N2 ideal selectivity 20.1 among five tested compositions. The CO2 permeability of COF-TpPa-1 7 wt% doped membrane was 88 % more than pristine PIM-1 after 30 days aging, while CO2/N2 selectivity was well maintained, coupled with excellent anti-plasticization and mixed-gas separation properties. The overall gas separation performance of MMMs exceeds the Robeson Upper bound (2008) for CO2/N2 and O2/N2. The measured experimental permeability exhibited excellent agreement with the Singh thermal conductivity model at low loading (<5 wt%). This work provides a potential approach to fabricate PIM-1-based high performance MMMs with COF fillers for efficient CO2 separation.

Taste, sustainability, and nutrition: Consumers' attitude toward innovations in aquaculture products

Marine aquaculture is one of the solutions to provide sustainable nutritious food. While technological and product development in the marine aquaculture industry is challenging, the industry is also facing consumer skepticism. Therefore, it is crucial to understand consumers' food decisions to deliver the benefits of marine aquaculture on environmental sustainability and human nutrition. This study aims to test how a sheer cognition of innovative or traditional production methods influences the USA consumers' acceptance of marine aquaculture products.In an online experimental study, 186 consumers from the USA evaluated their perceptions of a series of marine aquaculture products that vary in processing levels. Participants were randomly assigned to one of the three conditions: Tradition, Technology, and Control condition. In the Tradition condition, participants were told the products are produced in a traditional way. In contrast, a high-tech production system is emphasized in the Technology condition. In the Control condition, the producer uses a conventional method to farm seafood. The results of a set of general linear models for repeated measures reveal that emphasizing traditional production methods is associated with better perceptions of tastefulness, healthiness, and sustainability. Further analysis of a structural equation model found that the difference between the Tradition versus Technology brand image mainly lies in the perceived sincerity of the producer. The image of a traditional producer contributes to better consumer trust, and it further leads to a higher perceived value of healthiness and sustainability.The results of the study shed light on the strategies to accelerate technological advances and the social acceptance of innovative nutritious food. The research is one of the early attempts in the aquaculture industry to collect consumer feedback on tech/product development. The process can support future tech/product research projects by enhancing the societal embeddedness of marine aquaculture innovation.

Role of the stakeholders and regulatory instruments in technology and innovation development in Ethiopian construction industry

The purpose of this study is to assess the role of stakeholders and the applicable regulatory instruments in ensuring technology and innovation development (TID) in Ethiopian construction industry. A structured questionnaire was developed to assess the engagement level of major stakeholders and effectiveness of the applicable regulatory instruments. In analyzing the quantitative data, while mean score was used to rank the variables, factor analysis was conducted to identify the underlying dimensions. A semi-structured interview was conducted to get detail insight about the practice. In addition, document analysis was conducted to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the applicable regulatory instruments. The qualitative data was analyzed thematically focusing on the purpose of the study. Despite their significant role, the stakeholders’ engagement level is found to be unsatisfactory. Similarly, the findings suggest that there is room for improvement in the relevant regulatory instruments to better accommodate TID. The identified improvement dimensions are associated with timeliness, effectiveness, and appropriateness of the applicable regulatory instruments. These are attributed to the poor coordination and weak capacity of the stakeholders. Findings of this study help the concerned stakeholders in indicating the intervention areas to effectively enhance TID in the construction industry.

Exploring the Path of Cultivating College Students’ “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” Ability under the Integration of Research and Teaching

In higher education, research and teaching supplement and support each other. Under the trend of deep integration of the new round technological and industrial revolution, the transformation role of higher education in technological innovation and industrial development is becoming increasingly prominent. The integration of research and teaching is an important measure to solve the problem of separation and even contradiction between education and scientific and technological research. The dialectical and unified theoretical mechanism among education, technology, and talent can promote the integration of research and teaching from three aspects: education and teaching, technological innovation, and talent cultivation, in response to the problems and difficulties in the current “innovation and entrepreneurship” ability of college students. This can promote the improvement of college students’ “innovation and entrepreneurship” ability.

Fault detection of wind turbine system based on data-driven methods: a comparative study

AbstractFault detection plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, availability, and reliability of modern industrial processes. This study focuses on data-driven fault detection methods, which have gained significant attention across various industrial sectors due to the rapid development of industrial automation technologies and the availability of extensive datasets. The objectives of this paper are to comprehensively review and present the theoretical foundations of widely used data-driven fault detection approaches. Specifically, these approaches are applied to fault detection in wind turbine systems, with performance evaluation conducted using multiple statistical measures. The data utilized in this study were collected from a simulated benchmark of a wind turbine system. The data-driven methods are tested under the assumption that the wind turbine operates in a steady-state region. Additionally, a comparative study is conducted to identify and discuss the primary challenges associated with the practical application of these methods in real-world scenarios. Simulation results show the effectiveness and efficacy of data-driven approaches concerning the sensitivity and robustness of wind turbine sensor faults as applied in practical industrial environments.

Leveraging cognitive digital twins in industry 5.0 for achieving sustainable development goal 9: An exploration of inclusive and sustainable industrialization strategies

In the emerging landscape of Industry 5.0, the integration of innovative technologies such as Cognitive Digital Twins (CDTs) is pivotal for steering industrial processes towards sustainability and inclusivity, particularly in developing nations striving to align with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study explores the transformative capabilities of CDTs in Industry 5.0, concentrating on India's quest for inclusive and sustainable industrialization in alignment with SDGs. The inclusion of the TOE-HOT framework enriches the research's analytical foundation, providing a nuanced perspective to investigate the multifaceted dynamics of technology, organization, environment, and human aspects within the sphere of industrial evolution. By employing the Best-Worst Method (BWM), Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM), and MICMAC analysis, the study delves deep into the synergies between industrial strategies, technology, and sustainable development. The findings reveal the paramountcy of the Technological Dimension, emphasizing CDTs strategies like real-time optimization and data analytics, which are instrumental in dynamically adjusting manufacturing processes and fostering alignment with market demands. The research also stresses the roles of various CDTs strategies like strategic alignment, change management, job security, skill augmentation, and environmental compliance in industrial sustainability and inclusivity. The paper concludes with invaluable insights for policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers, emphasizing the necessity for a holistic, interconnected approach to fully harness the potential of CDTs in realizing the aspirations of Industry 5.0 and contributing to India's sustainable industrial advancement by 2030.

Kinetic regularities of neopentyl glycol esterification with acetic and 2-ethylhexanoic acids

Objectives. Development of a domestic technology for producing environmentally friendly non-phthalate plasticizers, lubricants and transformer fluids based on neopentyl glycol (NPG), an oxo-synthesis product.Methods. The methodology of the work was to study the kinetic laws of NPG esterification with acetic and 2-ethylhexanoic acids under self-catalysis conditions with an 8-fold molar excess of monocarboxylic acids. The production of NPG esters was carried out by azeotropic esterification in the presence of solvents—benzene and m-xylene. The resulting diesters were isolated from the reaction mass by vacuum rectification. The purity of the obtained NPG diesters was no less than 99.7 wt %. Analysis of the qualitative and quantitative composition of reaction samples was carried out using infrared spectroscopy, gas chromatography–mass spectrometry and gas–liquid chromatography.Results. The paper presents the results of kinetic studies on NPG esterification of with acetic and 2-ethylhexanoic acids. It compares the reaction rates and reactivity of the acids used. Under the given conditions, NPG diesters were produced, and some of their physicochemical properties were determined. This enabled the data obtained to be used for the development of industrial technology in the production of NPG diesters.Conclusions. It was established that with an eightfold molar excess of acid under self-catalysis conditions, a yield of NPG diacetate equal to 95% is achieved within 20–22 h at an optimal process temperature of 100–110℃; NPG di(2-ethylhexanoate)—within 26–28 h at 160–170℃. The activation energies and pre-exponential factors for the formation of NPG mono- and diesters with acetic and 2-ethylhexanoic acids were established. The paper presents the kinetic models of esterification.
