Research on Sustainable Development of Fashion Industry - Hermes, LVMH, Inditex as an Example

ESG is one of the critical topics in todays research. In recent years, researchers have found that sustainability, as represented by ESG, plays a significant role in the development of companies. However, there is a lack of a coherent explanation related to ESG in the segment of the fashion industry in which companies are located. Therefore the research topic of this paper is the relationship between the development of the fashion industry and ESG. The research methodology of this paper is as follows: firstly, we collect the reports like CSR Extract and Annual report published by Hermes, LVMH, and Inditex on their official websites, and then we conduct a qualitative analysis to explore the development of the fashion industry and the investment of fashion industry enterprises in ESG. The study found that ESG in the fashion industry can effectively promote the sustainable development of fashion industry enterprises themselves and also promote the sustainable development of the whole industry.

Combined with specific cases, the article makes an in-depth study on the application of Chinese and Western cultural elements in fashion brands, designers’ works, Fashion Weeks and international fashion design competitions, which has positive significance for promoting the development of fashion industry and the exchange and interaction of Chinese and Western culture.

FASHION INDUSTRY IN UKRAINE: DEVELOPMENT AND PROSPECTS

The purpose of the article is to summarize and present the life cycles of the Ukrainian fashion industry, its origin and development within its period, and in particular, during the period of full-scale Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Methodology. The specifics of the study logically influenced its methodological foundations. As a result, the following methods were used: analysis, synthesis, analogy, comparative history and systematic approaches. This methodological framework allowed to compare the growth and development of the fashion industry in Ukraine and worldwide in historical, cultural and fashion discourses. The findings presented in this paper are based on research conducted with associations, agencies and retailers in Ukraine. Results. The study highlights the potential and direction of development of the Ukrainian fashion industry, as well as the economic situation and changes in consumer behavior during the years of Ukraine's independence and the war period. Practical implications. In times of war, the younger generation has higher income expectations than the market currently provides. The older generation, on the other hand, has shown greater caution and frugality, as well as lower income expectations. In such a situation, it is crucial to promote creative businesses that can provide high-paying jobs for the younger generation, as well as the garment industry that appeals to older workers. Scientific novelty. The concretization of the scientific novelty is represented in the understanding of the essence of the fashion business in Ukraine and its potential impact on the solution of socio-cultural, economic and environmental problems. The importance of further development of the fashion industry in Ukraine in the context of contemporary transformations is outlined.

The current situation of fast fashion industry and how to reduce the waste

Since entering the 21st century, the development of fast fashion has faced a number of environmental problems. The design of circular economy is the best way to deal with fast fashion pollution, while the existing recycling system, traditional waste disposal methods are inefficiencies and are no longer enough to deal with the pollution caused by today's fast fashion industry. So this paper discusses some cutting-edge technologies to meet the development of circular fashion and achieve the approaches for sustainable development of fashion industry. After a specific analysis of the pollution of the fast fashion industry to the climate, water and the waste caused, this paper introduces the infrared technology to accelerate the sorting of clothing raw materials in the waste, enzymatic technology to process and degrade the raw materials, and the use of new sustainable materials in three steps to obtain an advanced technology support, sustainable fashion circulation system. In the future, this improved fast fashion circulation system still needs more experiments to be tested, also the government and relevant departments need to formulate relevant policies to support the development of this system. On the other side, the fast fashion industry's pollution of the environment, especially water bodies, and its treatment methods need to be studied.

Metaverse in fashion industry development: applications and challenges

This article studies the peculiarities of using metaverse in fashion industry. Given the technical limitations, the metaverse is being considered as a marketing tool in this industry. There are several key areas for fashion brands in virtual worlds: branding, goods, virtual fashion, and digital skins, distribution channels and logistics, interaction with consumers, and customer information. Fashion companies using the metaverse are aiming to promote their products and connect with consumers by creating and/or expanding product concepts in a virtual world, building brand trust and attracting new customer groups. Increased costs of customer acquisition through paid digital marketing increase brand interest in the metaverse as an alternative channel. Benefits of the metaverse for the fashion industry include limitless online format for product and brand concept development, reaching new customer groups, a new level of multi-channel approach companies are developing, expanding the space for testing new products, developing customer experience, holding their attention, etc. In spite of meta universe's advantages for the fashion industry, at the moment it doesn't have a mass application in the sphere of fashion brands, there are only a limited number of active clients in virtual worlds. The article marked some problems of the development of the technology in the industry. The results of the research let us conclude that the metaverse is perspective for the fashion industry development, and it is necessary to solve the mentioned problems, as well as to work out concrete mechanisms on the legislative level and on the level of company strategy, which minimise the risks of fashion brands' presence in metaverse and maximally will satisfy the consumers' desire in virtual reality.

Digital Entrepreneurship of Vocational Educations: Enthusiasm Level and Entrepreneurial Personality of Students

Rapid development of fashion industry affected by digital technology has produced major opportunity in entrepreneurship. Significant obstacles that shall be solved are enthusiasm and student’s personality in entrepreneurship. Process of digitalization dominated in business sector has become solution that can be integrated in vocational education. This research aims to measure level of enthusiasm and entrepreneurial personality of vocational students. Descriptive research with qualitative method is used to quantify the level. 198 students from vocational educations are participated as respondents in this research. Four-Likert-scale questionnaire is applied as data collecting tool. Descriptive statistic is applied to analyze the level of enthusiasm and entrepreneurial personality of students. Meanwhile, independent sample T-test is applied to compare the two levels. The result of research reveals that high average level of enthusiasm and entrepreneurial personality of students in vocational educations that are implemented digital entrepreneur of 75,56%, while it is inversely proportional to vocational educations that do not apply of 70,51%. The process of entrepreneur in vocational education with integrated digital technology becomes innovative way that should be done while digitalization is getting stronger, so that enthusiasm and entrepreneurial personality can be improved.

Women's Fashion in the 1940s.

The two world wars in the 20th century had a great impact on the European clothing industry, and to some extent, they also promoted the development of fashion industry. European designers have designed "wartime clothes" to meet the needs of women's work and life during the war. "Wartime clothing" is a breakthrough and development of traditional clothing, and its unique characteristics shine brilliantly in wartime. In order to liberate the people from the shadow of war after the war, Dior's "new look" was a booster for the fashion industry market facing the crisis at that time. The raging war still didn't interrupt the fashion industry, which also reflected people's yearning for a peaceful life and their helplessness to the cold life during wartime.

Повседневная семейно-родственная коммуникация: новая реальность, динамика языковых и культурных процессов

The article examines the changes that have occurred in family-related communication. The research is based on family speech handwritten notes and transcripts of voice records made by the author and the students of her special seminar, correspondence of family members and relatives in various messengers, as well as on the speech material presented in articles and books published by various researchers. The purpose of the study is to show how changes in everyday life, caused by new realities of the domestic sphere, various events in the country and the world, the development of information technology, affect family-related communication and speech, and by and large, the very existence of the family. Changes in the domestic sphere – the emergence of new social objects, new household cleaning supplies, development of fashion industry and everything that is, in one way or another, connected with the daily routine of a person – lead to expanding and updating the lexical field of familyrelated communication. There is high penetration of new lexical units, primarily borrowings from other languages, into family speech, including the speech of children. The research has shown that such an active and rapid borrowing process can give rise to misunderstanding between different generations in the family. The focus of the study is on the development of mediated communication in everyday life. Both positive and negative factors of information technologies influence are noted. Mediatization of the population, the use of cellular phones affect the nature of family communication, etiquette, and cultural norms and absorb free time. The line between work and home communication is blurred, which has a devastating effect on the life of the family as one of the most important institutions of society, designed to ensure the stability of its existence.

DESIGN OF THE CONTEMPORARY GARMENTS ON THE BASIS OF THE TRANSFORMATION OF STYLISTIC AND ARTISTIC-COMPOSITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF TRADITIONAL DECORATIVE ART

The purpose. This research aims to analyze artistic-compositional characteristics of Ukrainian traditional embroidery and decorative-applied art (using the example of M. Prymachenko’s art) used in the decoration of the actual ethno-styled garments. Methodology. A systematic approach was used in this research to project authorial contemporary garments: literary-analytical, morphological, and comparative analysis of the creative primary source, associative means of its adaptation to the actual fashion trends. The methodology of the research is based on the systematic analysis of the design projects using elements of the cultural heritage of Ukraine. Systematic-informational and visual-analytical methods were used in this research. Systematic-structural analysis was used to analyze the transformation of artistic-compositional elements in the process of shaping contemporary costumes based on associative transformations. Results. In the process of design project of the authorial collection of female Ethno-style clothes, it was found that decorative art and national garments have a high level of authentic symbolism if used for the actual projection image in conditions of contemporary design activity. Characterizations were given to some principles of implementation of the national image in contemporary trends of fashion industry development. Symbolic image of the floral ornament adapted from Prymachenko’s works as well as stylization of her works in ornamental motifs of the collection were used. Based on pre-project analysis and customer survey it was defined that there is significant interest in national motifs. A collection of female clothes targeted at a wide group of customers was designed. Scientific novelty. Principles of design-project of the collection of contemporary garments with authorial embroidery were proposed using an adaptation of national traditions of female clothes embroidery and folk-art decoration as a basis. Usage of different floral motifs and geometric ornament in ethno-style and implementation of this image as popular among contemporary women in their everyday life were justified. Practical significance lies in the development of principles of formation of authorial costume collection project-image, in justification of principles of ethnographically oriented prints and embroidery and the choice of decoration methods of contemporary female clothes.

Fashion Industry in the Context of Sustainable Development: Eco-Products, Conscious Consumption and Management

Introduction. The relevance of the study is due to the need to select management tools for the formation of environmentally conscious consumption of the fashion industry products, which is developing dynamically and rapidly, which will contribute to the preservation of the resource potential of not only the country but also the planet as a whole. Purpose and methods. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the role and importance of eco-products, conscious consumption, and management in the context of the fashion industry’s sustainable development. The methodological basis of the study is an interdisciplinary approach to the consideration of the problem of managing the conscious consumption of eco-fashion products when its economic, environmental, technical, organizational, social, psychological, and physiological functions are realized in the relationship. Results. Perspective trends in the fashion industry development from the point of view of conscious rational and ecological consumption of clothing have been identified. The role of a socially responsible attitude to clothing production, which affects the ecology of the environment, is substantiated. The theoretical bases of sustainable development and progress of the Ukrainian fashion industry on the example of formation and promotion of Ukrainian designers’ fashion brands are considered. Conclusions. As a result of the conducted study, the main motives for creating eco-products in the fashion industry, as well as the main environmental concepts, are outlined. The importance of choosing optimal tools and management strategies aimed at greening the production of eco-products was determined by the fashion industry enterprises. The scientific novelty of the study consists in the interdisciplinary deepening of the theoretical provisions of production management and conscious consumption of the fashion industry eco-products in the conditions of greening the public space.

Features of Digitalization Processes in Fashion Industry

The purpose of the research is to reveal the features of digitalization processes in the field of the fashion industry, to determine the main directions of digital technologies development and their direct impact on the fashion environment. Research methodology. The choice of research methods is determined by the purpose of the research, in particular, a systematic approach to the study of fashion history, digital technologies, future trends in the creative industry, as well as analysis of existing changes in the fashion industry. Scientific novelty. The issue of the fashion industry development under the influence of digital technologies is raised. Conclusions. Therefore, to manage the “fashion brands of the future”, you need not only to effectively manage your team and focus on profit but also to be flexible, socially responsible and quickly respond to new digital trends and use them in your work. Thus, the era of digitalization forces our world to move to a new level of development. The fashion industry, as one of the most flexible and profitable areas, must adopt new digital technologies as quickly as possible and apply modern and effective management methods that will be expedient and effective.

The Importance of Computer Aided Technologies and Brand Promotion in Dress Design

This article discusses the importance of computer aided technologies and brand promotion in dress design. The subject of research is computer aided technologies in dress design. The research topic involves interrelations between fine arts and computer aided technologies, which should be considered as the basis of brand promotion in dress design. The research is aimed at revealing necessity of computer aided technologies as an inherent attribute in design. The research hypothesis assumes that interrelation between computer aided technologies and design is highly relevant and required at present. The integrated approach used for considering designer activity in connection with realities of technological progress, as well as the system approach used for revealing the interrelation between the theory of fashion industry and the designing practice, and stylistic and technological analysis were applied in the work. The techniques of dress design using professional computer graphics were described. The research results eliminate drawbacks in model development regarding creative dress design concept and visual presentation of collection for consumers. The relevance of computer aided technologies for modern design assumes various opportunities of application of these tools both in teaching professional disciplines and in creation of dress design. Development of computer aided technologies allows designing models by computer graphics, which assists development of fashion industry and education in total.

Based on five fashion retail districts in Taipei City, Taiwan, this investigation collects questionnaires and analyses the answers to identify the elements of shaping fashion industry formation. Analytical results confirm positive impacts of physical environment on fashion retail aggregations, such as convenient transportation, great price and proximity to other business districts. Moreover, the factor of atmospheric environment is also considered as the important factors by consumers and fashion retailers. Additionally, the connection of chain network through infrastructures provision, business collaboration and government and non-government supports could promote fashion industry development.

Personalized fashion recommender system with image based neural networks

With an increase in the standard of living, peoples’ attention gradually moved towards fashion that is concerned to be a popular aesthetic expression. Humans are inevitably drawn towards something that is visually more attractive. This tendency of humans has led to development of fashion industry over the course of time. However, given too many options of garments on the e-commerce websites, has presented new challenges to the customers in identifying their correct outfit. Thus, in this paper, we proposed a personalized Fashion Recommender system that generates recommendations for the user based on an input given. Unlike the conventional systems that rely on user’s previous purchases and history, this project aims at using an image of a product given as input by the user to generate recommendations since many-a-time people see something that they are interested in and tend to look for products that are similar to that. We use neural networks to process the images from DeepFashion dataset and a nearest neighbour backed recommender to generate the final recommendations.

HOLISTIC MARKETING IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY OF UKRAINE

The problems of the fashion industry development in the context of the recognition of the pandemic throughout the world are identified. An empirical study of the imple­mentation of holistic marketing by national and international retail chains of the fashion industry in Ukraine, associated with medium-sized businesses, has been carried out. It has been proven that for Ukrainian consumers the most important characteristic of social responsibility in a trading company is the quality of goods and the level of service that create a business reputation. The results of the study of the impact of quarantine on the development of retail chains in the Ukrainian fashion industry are presented.

Perancangan Sistem Penjadwalan Dan Pengontrolan Produksi Perusahaan Padupadan

The development of garment industry, especially for export, may bring certain challenges to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). The company that export its products has to handle its production carefully, in particular for the export deadline. When the company fail to deliver its products on time, a high amount of fine, approximately 30% of total production cost, will be faced. Padupadan is a garment focusing on local product. To be competitive, it needs to improve its quality in both scheduling and production control. Orders has been accepted without actual information status of running order which cause delay and low product quality. Due to that situation, this company needs a system that assist decision making relating to controlling orders and performance of any parties in production process.Case study was used as method of this explanatory research. Data were analyzed using MIT 90’s Framework and Data Flow Diagram. Design of Padupadan production system is related with 9 analyzed activities, namely marketing, sales order, production scheduling, human resource management, purchasing, receiving, warehouse (raw material), production, and warehouse (finished goods) which will be structured and standardized for the company. This system provides assistance in determining production scheduling target, system to control production that will help owner in evaluating employees, performance of production department and categorized supplier. Owner provides positive respon on the design since it can assist the company for future advance.
