Opportunities and Challenges for the Professional Development of College Teachers in the Intelligent Era

This paper explores the significance, opportunities, and challenges presented by the intelligent era for the professional development of college teachers. We categorize teachers' professional development into four key dimensions: professional concepts, knowledge, skills, and emotional intelligence. The intelligent era offers various opportunities, including the innovation of teaching methodologies, the transformation of educational paradigms, and the evolution of learning styles. However, it also poses significant challenges, such as the redefinition of teachers' identities, the transition from fragmented to systematic knowledge, and the increasing demands for digital literacy and higher-order cognitive skills. In response to these dynamics, it is imperative for college educators to actively engage with these changes and continuously enhance their professionalism to effectively guide the evolution of education.

The influence of professional mission on the professional quality of college teachers: The intermediary role of job burnout and the regulating role of social support

Purpose: This study seeks to explore the influence of a professional mission on university teachers specifically examining the mediating role of job burnout and the moderating impact of social support.
 Design/Methodology/Approach: Data from university teachers were collected for this study using a questionnaire survey method and the results were carefully analysed using the relevant statistical techniques.
 Findings: The study finds a positive relationship between a strong professional mission and high professional quality in university teachers. Job burnout and social support serve as intermediaries and regulators. Increased burnout weakens the mission's influence while reduced burnout correlates with enhanced professional quality. A strong social network enhances a professional mission's beneficial effects. 
 Conclusion: This study explores the relationship between a professional mission and university professors highlighting the mediating effects of social support and job burnout. The findings offer valuable insights for improving educational quality and supporting teachers' personal growth. This research significantly contributes to understanding key factors in the career development of college teachers, providing enlightening perspectives for educators and policymakers.
 Limitations/Significance: This study ignores personal variables in favour of examining only the effects of professional missions on university teachers' professional development. Observations and interviews are two unique methodologies that are necessary for a thorough understanding relying solely on surveys may introduce subjectivity.
 Practical Significance: Findings guide institutions and policymakers to boost education quality by supporting teachers' professional development through training and social support and addressing burnout.
 Contributions to the Literature: The study fills gaps by confirming the beneficial influence of professional missions on the careers of teachers and guiding the improvement of education.

A Study of Strategies for Integrating Faculty Professional Development and Blockchain Technology in Higher Education

Abstract This paper is oriented to the integrated learning bill for college teachers and integrates blockchain technology to construct a high-security and credibility assessment system for college teachers’ professional competence development. Through similarity calculation and hierarchical clustering to form a dataset related to teachers’ professional competence, the TOPSIS-gray correlation analysis algorithm is used to assess the development of teachers’ professional competence tendencies. The teacher information is then transformed to finally form an information profile panel that can comprehensively characterize the development of college teachers’ professional competence, which is stored in the blockchain in the form of a learning bill. The single feature clustering results indicate that the majority of teachers are either good or above in every professional development evaluation feature, with excellent being above 30%. In the overall clustering, only 17.91% were labeled as excellent. In the teacher professional development assessment indicators, the reaction layer (34.9) and learning layer (33.6) have a greater impact on the professional development of teachers in higher education. The F-values of teachers in different subject areas in the overall test of teacher professional development did not reach a significant level (2.11, 0.24, 0.20, and 0.42, respectively). In the correlation test, blockchain technology was significantly and positively correlated with the quality of teachers’ professional development (p<0.05). The validity of the professional development assessment system for college teachers that incorporates blockchain technology is confirmed by this study.

Research on Dynamic Model Construction of MTI Teacher Professional Development under Influence of Translation Technology

Abstract The continuous updating of translation technology has had a huge impact on the Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) teacher professional development. Exploring the effects of translation technology on teacher professional development, the composition of abilities, and factors that influence it, this paper draws upon a literature review and action research. Through the theoretical deductive reasoning and action research, the paper has constructed a dynamic model of MTI teacher professional development under the influence of translation technology, providing cases and useful references for the follow-up research of teacher professional development under the new technology environment, in order to provide a feasible implementation plan for the professional development of college teachers.

A Comparative Study on the Professional Development of Teachers in China and British Universities

As global education reform continues to advance and the knowledge economy is booming, building a learning society has become an irresistible trend of social development. In this context, improving the professional development and literacy of college teachers will inevitably become a critical link and a significant force to promote the sustainable development of higher education, and it is an essential topic of higher education research in all countries in the world. This paper uses the approach of comparative research to study the historical evolution, connotation, and organization of teachers' professional development in Chinese and British universities. It found that the professional development of teachers in Chinese and British universities is macroscopically aimed at promoting the high-quality development of education and serving students and society. On the micro level, China pays attention to the integrity of the development of teachers in colleges and builds an education and training system from top to bottom, while in the UK, the government, professional organizations, and universities establish professional development institutions for teachers, which are independent and cooperative with each other; the financial support for teachers’ professional development in the UK is flexible and diverse, while in China, the government allocates funds directly; the UK actively carries out international academic exchanges and cooperation for teachers' professional development, formulating rules and sharing experiences, while China pays more attention to domestic exchanges and cooperation for teachers' professional development, with less participation in international contacts.

Exploring the Teaching Growth and Development of College Teachers in the Context of Informatization

This paper explores the issue of teaching growth and development of college teachers under the background of information technology. It analyzes and discusses five aspects, namely, education and teaching concept, teacher and teaching association, the growth path of college teachers, the direction of teaching development of college teachers, and strategies and suggestions for teaching innovation of college teachers. This paper argues that the growth and development of college teachers' teaching is a complex and dynamic process, which requires college teachers to constantly update and optimize their education and teaching concepts, pay attention to and satisfy students' learning needs and interests, select and use suitable teaching contents and methods, design and produce creative teaching forms and methods, explore and practice new or effective teaching models, and demonstrate and evaluate their teaching effects and quality, to realize the novelty or effectiveness of teaching and to improve or break through the level or level of teaching. This paper hopes to provide some useful methods and opinions for the growth and development of college teachers' teaching, as well as some useful bases and references for the research and evaluation of education.

Professional Quality Development of English Teachers in Colleges and Universities Based on Network Learning Community

Abstract In this paper, we first construct an online learning community using the social network cascade model, giving the specific structure and specific roles of the model. Secondly, the social network cascade model is constructed by utilizing multi-sequence temporal coding, temporal bi-directional graph convolutional network and GRU encoder with an attention mechanism. Finally, the effectiveness of the model in the development of English teachers’ professional quality in colleges and universities is verified through the comparative validation of the model and the practical application of the network learning community. The results show that English teachers’ professional quality development scores are high, with a mean score of 5.554. The English posttest scores of the experimental class in the comparison experiment increased by 2.12 points compared with the previous test, with two-tailed Sig.=0.024>0.05. This shows that the network learning community can effectively improve the professional quality development of English teachers and further enhance the student’s English learning performance.

A structural model of teachers’ teaching competencies based on multimodal affective features of support vector machines

Abstract Based on big data technology, this paper first proposes to study and analyze the structural model of teachers’ teaching ability based on multimodal sentiment features of support vector machines. Then the Mel inverse spectral coefficients, wavelet packet coefficients, Fourier coefficient features, dynamic features, and global features are extracted respectively, and the features are dimensionalized using linear support vector machine and Lagrangian function, and the dimensionalized feature parameters are sent to the classifier for emotion recognition. Finally, the structural model evaluation index system of teachers’ teaching ability is constructed, and the current teaching ability development of college teachers in a province is studied and analyzed from two perspectives of teachers’ self-assessment and students’ evaluation based on multimodal emotional features of support vector machine. The results showed that in terms of teaching ability dimensions, teachers had the highest expectation of their teaching ability (4.38) in each dimension, followed in order by teachers’ self-evaluation of teaching ability (4.15), students’ expectation (4.05), and students’ evaluation of teachers’ teaching ability (3.56) was the lowest. This study reveals that teachers’ perceptions of the teaching competencies they should have are biased, and their awareness of self-development is insufficient from the emotional characteristics.

A Study on Continuous Teacher Professional Development of University

The teacher’s professional development at the university has been highlighted in theory and practice circles. In terms of continuing teacher professional development methods, university models of continuing teacher professional development. The study included three aspects: the education management department, universities, and teachers themselves. This is a mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative), based on the qualitative analysis of the system analysis of the professional development in colleges and universities as well as the model of the professional development system for college teachers. To make the analysis and conclusions of this study more practical and scientific, techniques like path analysis, descriptive analysis, and network analytic hierarchy process are used. Additionally, this study integrates the normative and empirical research. to evaluate the continuing teacher professional development capability in universities, the continuing teacher professional development capability model and the continuing teacher professional development capability assessment system were developed. And, combined with three Henan universities, further addressed the issue of relatively weightiness of assessment indices by applying the Flexible negotiation method and the Analytic Network Process. The results indicate that two components can be used to build a system for continuing teacher professional development: creating a professional learning organization and establishing a growth mode for individual teacher reflection. This research can also be used to summarize the limitations and future directions for further investigation. Conclusion: The path to the personal growth and development of college teachers is built through the creation of professional learning organizations and the reflective teacher personal growth model.

Correlations Between Teaching and Scientific Research Ability and Professional Development of College Teachers

In the new era, the professional development (PD) of college teachers is significantly affected by their teaching and scientific research (TSR) ability. With a high TSR ability, teachers can enhance their professional literacy, explore the student behaviors in teaching practice, and optimize and improve the teaching mode. The research of college teachers’ TSR ability has just started, lacking systematic, in-depth exploration. There is no report on the TSR subjects, or the effect of TSR ability on PD, not to mention empirical analysis of the correlations between TSR ability and PD. Therefore, this paper probes into the correlations between the TSR ability and PD of college teachers. Firstly, the data correlation principles were introduced for TSR ability and PD of college teachers, and an evaluation index system (EIS) was established for college teachers’ TSR ability. Then, the scores of college teachers’ TSR ability in a region were associated with the scores of college teachers’ PD. On this basis, the nearest neighbor algorithm and the joint compatibility branch and bound (JCBB) algorithm were combined to derive an improved index data correlation model. Through experiments, the proposed model was proved effective, and the regional analysis results were obtained.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Strategies of Teachers and Students in Financial Colleges and Universities Under the Direction of Food Security.

This study aims to better promote the innovation and entrepreneurship of teachers and students in finance and economics colleges and universities in terms of food security. Based on the relevant theories such as food security, innovation and entrepreneurship, the questionnaire was used to investigate the issues related to food security of teachers and students in colleges and universities. Next, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) analysis method was introduced to evaluate the safety metrics of the response subsystem. Finally, Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring technology was applied to grain growth and sales. The research results show that college teachers and students have a disjointed cognition of food security as important talents in innovation and entrepreneurship. After the TOPSIS analysis method is used to study, when college teachers and students choose to start a business in food security, they must pay attention to the changes in economic factors. The IoT monitoring technology is applied to grain growth and sales, and the monitoring technology of the IoT could reduce the mortality rate of corn seedlings to 3.59%. The mortality rate of seedlings is much higher than that of farmers relying on their own experience to grow corn. Therefore, this has great reference significance for the innovation and entrepreneurship development of college teachers and students in food security at this stage.

Analysis and Prediction of the Trend Features for Teaching Development Based on Knowledge Discovery

The existing research on teaching development of teachers fails to effectively quantify the teaching development trend. This paper deeply mines the evaluation data on the teaching quality of college teachers, before analyzing and predicting the trend features for teaching development of college teachers based on knowledge discovery. Firstly, the knowledge features of the teaching development trend of college teachers were examined. Next, the fluctuation features of the time series on the teaching quality development of college teachers were described based on chaotic time series. In addition, a prediction model for teaching development of college teachers was established for weighted first-order chaotic time series, and used to simulate the nonlinear features of the time series on the teaching quality development of college teachers. The prediction model was proved effective through experiments.

Analysis on the Satisfaction of University Teachers' in-Service Development and Their Development Demand

Teachers in colleges and universities will have a vision of personal development during their in-service period. If the vision is not met, it will cause teachers to feel dissatisfied, indicating that on-the-job satisfaction is reduced, and on the contrary, on-the-job satisfaction is increased. In this case, in consideration of the stability of human resources and the quality of the teaching staff, colleges and universities must understand the satisfaction of teachers in the in-service development of teachers in colleges and universities, and analyze the development needs of teachers from the satisfaction results, so as to meet the teachers' personal development vision in a targeted manner. This article will carry out related research, mainly constructing the in-service satisfaction evaluation system of college teachers, and then launching the satisfaction evaluation of college teachers, and finally analyzing the in-service development needs of teachers with reference to the satisfaction evaluation results, and at the same time putting forward suggestions for improvement.

Construction of the management model of faculty in applied transition colleges

The professional development of college teachers is not only the internal demand of teachers’ self-development, but also an important means of optimizing school classification management. However, there is no appropriate and reasonable model for the management of college teachers. This paper uses literature analysis, interviews and questionnaire surveys, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling (SEM) methods to establish and verify the application of the six major influencing factors (ideals and beliefs, teacher development conditions, teacher-student relations, talent management, to analyze management model of teacher’s morality and style construction and ability literacy. And correlation analysis is carried out, thus providing direction guidance for the construction of university teachers and school teaching and administrative management.
