Although many authors * have commented on the frequency of parenchymal infiltration of the kidneys in leukemia, there has to date been no systematic study of kidney function during the course of the disease. The purpose of this paper is to present the results of the investigation of renal function in 35 patients with leukemia in the pediatric age group who have been studied during a two-year period, 1954-1955, inclusive. Clinical results were supplemented by the pathological findings in 14 of the 35 patients who came to postmortem examination. <h3>Methods</h3> Blood urea nitrogen determinations, urinary specific gravity, and routine urinalyses were performed on 35 patients in whom a definite diagnosis of leukemia was established, both by bone marrow and peripheral blood examinations.
