A degenerate coral fertilization model concerning the evolution of gametes densities, of signal concentration and of an incompressible Navier–Stokes fluid velocity is investigated in this paper. It is proved that an associated initial–boundary problem with no-flux, Dirichlet boundary conditions in a three-dimensional smoothly bounded domain admits a globally defined weak solution for any appropriately regular initial data whenever the nonlinear diffusion parameter m>1.
