Laboratory Animals; The morphology of spermatids and spermatozoa of mice heterozygous for the tailless lethal genotypes t0 and tw32 was examined by light transmission and scanning electron microscope. Late spermatids showed short broad nuclei microtubules abnormally indented into the nucleus and irregularly shaped acrosomes. Spermatozoa--AN; Chromosome Abnormalities Spermatozoa developed more abnormalities such as spaces between acrosomes and the nuclear membrane absent or misplaced microtubules in about 10% and short angular or amorphous head shapes in 60-75%. These irregularities could be due to defective chromosomal condensation or membrane or microtubule defects.
