AbstractUsing some formulae of Takakura it is shown, that the type IV bursts at decimeter waves may be interpreted by synchrotron radiation. Great helical angles of the electron orbits are necessary for the emission of a strong ordinary wave; such great helical angles are obtained, if the magnetic field strength in the sources of the type IV bursts at decimeter waves is assumed to 200–300 gauss and the helical angles are calculated from the adiabatic invariance of the magnetic moment \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ |\overrightarrow \mu |\, = \,\frac{1}{2}\,\frac{{m\,\upsilon ^2 \, \bot }}{B} $\end{document} of the electron in its orbit. The opinion of Tanaka and Kakinuma is discussed, that there may be some relations between the storm continua and the type IV bursts at decimeter waves. It is shown, that the storm continua and the type IV bursts at decimeter waves are caused by different mechanisms.
