The new Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) Data Management Center Exotic Seismic Events Catalog data product provides information on such events to help accelerate research in the area of environmental seismology. This catalog initially offers information on 113 events in four general categories consisting of flows, lahars, debris flows and outburst floods (17 events); rock or debris falls (23 events); rock, ice, or debris avalanches and slides (68 events); and snow avalanches (5 events). This database will be expanded as information regarding new recent and historical events becomes available. This catalog is now available to the research community at IRIS (see Data and Resources).
