Decay-properties of the “A 2(1300)”-meson

The decay properties of the A 2-meson are studied in the reactions π +p → pA 2 + and π +p → Δ ++A 2 0 at 5 GeV/ c. Branching ratios into ϱπ, ηπ, K K and X π are given (tables 5 and 6). A J P Dalitz-plot analysis of the total A 2 0 peak confirms that 2 + assignment. A double peak analysis excludes 1 − as a pure state in either half and favours 2 + in both.

Dalitz plot analysis for the X 0 decaying into ηπ+π−

The Dalitz plot for the decay X 0→ π + π − η has been analysed and shows a dependence on ππ mass. Various quantum numbers assignments are discussed.
