Analysis to increase sharia credit card users: study in four cities in Indonesia

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the effect and influence of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on knowledge sharing to improve and use Islamic credit cards. Design/methodology/approach Structural equation modeling was used in the analysis of the data collected from 160 respondents in four cities in Jakarta, Indonesia, using an online survey. Findings This study analyzes the effect of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on knowledge management, and also analyzes the effect of increasing knowledge management in increasing Islamic credit card users, as well as the role of knowledge management as mediation. Research limitations/implications This study only examines Islamic credit cards by looking at the contribution of the role of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use knowledge management that are felt by users and prospective users of Islamic credit cards. Practical implications The results of this study highlight the need for Islamic banks to provide and increase knowledge to understand and know well about Islamic credit cards, which can increase intentions to become new users. Originality/value This research provides additional knowledge on Islamic credit cards, commonly referred to as bithaqah al-l’timan, as a means of payment and cash withdrawals in accordance with applicable regulations with reference to Islamic principles and policies by providing convenience, security and comfort for credit card users and for bank customers. Sharia banking can also grow the sharia economy, which currently Indonesia is still far behind.

Two-Layered Multi-Factor Authentication Using Decentralized Blockchain in an IoT Environment.

Internet of Things (IoT) technology is evolving over the peak of smart infrastructure with the participation of IoT devices in a wide range of applications. Traditional IoT authentication methods are vulnerable to threats due to wireless data transmission. However, IoT devices are resource- and energy-constrained, so building lightweight security that provides stronger authentication is essential. This paper proposes a novel, two-layered multi-factor authentication (2L-MFA) framework using blockchain to enhance IoT devices and user security. The first level of authentication is for IoT devices, one that considers secret keys, geographical location, and physically unclonable function (PUF). Proof-of-authentication (PoAh) and elliptic curve Diffie-Hellman are followed for lightweight and low latency support. Second-level authentication for IoT users, which are sub-categorized into four levels, each defined by specific factors such as identity, password, and biometrics. The first level involves a matrix-based password; the second level utilizes the elliptic curve digital signature algorithm (ECDSA); and levels 3 and 4 are secured with iris and finger vein, providing comprehensive and robust authentication. We deployed fuzzy logic to validate the authentication and make the system more robust. The 2L-MFA model significantly improves performance, reducing registration, login, and authentication times by up to 25%, 50%, and 25%, respectively, facilitating quicker cloud access post-authentication and enhancing overall efficiency.

A novel identifiable data sharing mechanism for multiple participants in cloud computing

Recent applications and growth on the internet have generated a lot of popularity and adoption of cloud computing which aims to assure the various computing resources. Data storage is one of the primary resources offered by the cloud; however, considering the multiple users in the particular cloud raises major concerns due to security. Recent researches shown great potential for providing efficient data sharing with multiple users. However, tracing of the data provider is still concerned to be a major issue. Hence, this research work proposes identifiable data sharing for multiple users (IDSMU) mechanism which aims to provide security for multiple users in a particular cloud group. At first, IDSMU creates the general participants (GP)-key for secure access to data. Further, IDSMU creates the trusted participants (TP) based on the reputation which further helps in creating the key generation. A novel signature scheme is used for identifying the participants; IDSMU is evaluated on computation count and efficiency is proved by comparing with an existing model considering computation count.

Biometric Systems: A Comprehensive Review

As the utilization of biometric data grows, it is expected that systems will become more dependable and capable of providing successful outcomes in challenging scenarios and in the face of counterfeiting. Ensuring the security of information is important to the effective functioning of any system. Hence, a stringent approach is necessary to authenticate the identity of each individual prior to granting them access to the stored data. Cancellable biometrics can enhance the security and privacy of users in response to potential threats. This study reviews and discusses many components of the biometric system, including face recognition, fingerprint identification, iris recognition, speaker recognition, gait recognition, ear recognition, and hand scanning. Authentication for the Biometric database is included in each section. For each segment, we will evaluate an article and analyze the discoveries presented in that paper during our review. Verifiable data distribution technique for multiple applicants in a cloud computing ecosystem

<span lang="EN-US"><span lang="EN-US">Cloud computing is the most exploited research technology in both industry and academia due to wide application and increases in adoption from global organizations. In cloud, computing data storage is one of the primary resources offered through cloud computing, however, an increase in participants raises major security concerns, as the user has no hold over the data. Furthermore, recent research has shown great potential for efficient data sharing with multiple participants. Existing researches suggest complicated and inefficient cloud security architecture. Hence, this research work proposes identifiable data sharing for multiple users (IDSMU) mechanism, which aims to provide security for multiple users in a particular cloud group. A novel signature scheme is used for identifying the participants, further verification of the Novel Signature Scheme is proposed along with a retraction process where the secret keys of the participant and the sender is cross-verified; at last, a module is designed for the elimination of any malicious participants within the group. IDSMU is evaluated on computation count and efficiency is proved by comparing with an existing model considering computation count. IDSMU performs marginal improvisation over the existing model in comparison with the existing model using the novel signature scheme. </span><br /></span>

Toward robust image encryption based on chaos theory and DNA computing

Due to the significant importance of image security for various users, there is an ongoing need to develop innovative algorithms to enhance this security. Image security typically involves encryption techniques. This study has tackled the challenge of creating an efficient, secure, and resilient image cipher by using pixel-swapping techniques at both DNA and decimal levels. The swapping methods include four different approaches that involve randomly selecting pixel pairs to swap with adjacent pixels—either left, right, upper, or lower—based on random numbers generated by a chaotic map. Specifically, the 2D Tinkerbell chaotic map was used to generate the necessary random numbers for diffusion and confusion processes in the encryption. Additionally, through careful arithmetic operations, two more random number streams were derived from the main streams produced by the chaotic map. Thorough performance analyses and computer simulations have shown that this image cipher is robust, secure, and resilient against various threats, making it suitable for practical applications. Notably, the cipher achieved a very high information entropy value of 7.9975, indicating its effectiveness in encryption.

Information systems in educational institutions have the potential to be targeted by various parties, especially unauthorized parties, so they require a higher layer of security to protect sensitive data and secure user access. One solution that can be implemented is the implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), a security approach that utilizes more than one authentication method to secure access to the system. MFA is a security method that requires more than one way to verify a user's identity when accessing a system, application, or service that aims to increase security by adding an additional layer of protection beyond using a single passphrase or password. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of implementing MFA in the context of system access security in educational environments. The research methodology involves surveying system users, statistical analysis, and monitoring access activity to assess the extent to which MFA is successful in reducing security risks and protecting sensitive information. The research results show that the use of MFA in educational institutions can significantly increase system access security. Several obstacles that arise become challenges in solving problems regarding the use of MFA. Therefore, this article also examines recommendations for increasing the implementation of MFA in educational institutions. Verify and trust: A multidimensional survey of zero-trust security in the age of IoT

The zero-trust (ZT) model assumes that all users, devices, and network traffic should not considered as trusted until proven. The Zero-trust model emphasizes the importance of verifying and authenticating every user and device, and limiting access to resources based on the principle of least privilege. Under the principle of the zero-trust model, devices are granted access after they have been successfully presented with their authentication credentials and access rights based on different factors, such as user identity, device health, location, and behaviour. Access controls are then continuously evaluated and updated as user properties, locations and behaviour change. The zero-trust model can be applied in various domains (healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, government etc.) to provide a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity that helps organizations to reduce risk and protect critical assets. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the zero-trust model, its principles, and its applications, as well as to propose recommendations for organizations looking to adopt this approach. We explore the major components of the zero-trust framework and their integration across different practical domains. HealthSquare: A Survey of Deep Learning Based Healthcare Platform

The multi-health diagnosis web application HealthSquare represents a pioneering endeavor in healthcare technology by integrating advanced AI models for comprehensive health analysis. Socialisation of student youth in social networks

Social networks have become a part of the daily life of students, they influence the development of views, values and identity, which can have an impact on students’ social connections, so research is an urgent task that contributes to understanding this influence. The purpose of the study was to investigate the impact of social networks on various spheres of life of modern students. In order to investigate the issues of socialisation of young people in social networks, the study used generalisation and analytical method. As a result, the importance of developing strategies aimed at strengthening the positive impact of social networks on students was highlighted. It was revealed that changing social norms and creating an atmosphere of open and decent communication in an online environment can help improve students’ socialisation in the virtual world. It was noted that the protection of privacy and the development of critical thinking are important for ensuring the security and information competence of social network users. The importance of developing media literacy and skills in verifying the truthfulness of information in the process of socialisation of students was noted. Strategies that promote the development of virtual space and improve interaction in social networks were outlined. The paper analysed aspects of positive socialisation of students in the digital age that help them solve problems and cope with the challenges of the online environment. The results of scientific research can contribute to a better understanding of how social networks affect young people, and help researchers develop programmes and strategies aimed at supporting the positive aspects of this impact and reducing possible negative consequences

Adapting an artificial intelligence sexually transmitted diseases symptom checker tool for Mpox detection: the HeHealth experience.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications have shown promise in the management of pandemics. In response to the global Monkeypox (Mpox) outbreak, the HeHealth.ai team leveraged an existing tool to screen for sexually transmitted diseases (STD) to develop a digital screening test for symptomatic Mpox using AI. Before the global Mpox outbreak, the team developed a smartphone app (HeHealth) where app users can use a smartphone to photograph their own penises to screen for symptomatic STD. The AI model initially used 5000 cases and a modified convolutional neural network to output prediction scores across visually diagnosable penis pathologies including syphilis, herpes simplex virus, and human papillomavirus. A total of about 22,000 users had downloaded the HeHealth app, and ~21,000 images were analysed using HeHealth AI technology. We then used formative research, stakeholder engagement, rapid consolidation images, a validation study, and implementation of the tool. A total of 1000 Mpox-related images had been used to train the Mpox symptom checker tool. Based on an internal validation, our digital symptom checker tool showed specificity of 87% and sensitivity of 90% for symptomatic Mpox. Several hurdles identified included issues of data privacy and security for app users, initial lack of data to train the AI tool, and the potential generalisability of input data. We offer several suggestions to help others get started on similar projects in emergency situations, including engaging a wide range of stakeholders, having a multidisciplinary team, prioritising pragmatism, as well as the concept that 'big data' in fact is made up of 'small data'.
