The National curriculum for Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBGYN) in Bangladesh does not reflect preventive, promotive and curative aspects for rural women. The aim of this study is to obtain a consensus on components of the community-based learning (CBL) programme in OBGYN for undergraduate medical students. A survey was conducted based on a modified Delphi technique, among 31 thana (sub-District) doctors and 29 medical teachers. The opinions of these respondents were further investigated by seeking the views of expert senior teachers of OBGYN in a special workshop. All the participants felt that this CBL programme would help medical students to serve the rural community. The results of this study can be used to plan a CBL programme for the undergraduate medical curriculum in Bangladesh.
