LTE RSSI Based Vehicular Localization System in Long Tunnel Environment

Current navigation systems rely heavily on global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs), which provide stable positioning results in open-sky environments but exhibit severe performance degradation in areas where the signal is compromised, such as dense urban environments, underground parking lots, and tunnels. Current navigation systems use an initial entry velocity to estimate a vehicle's position in a tunnel. Therefore, when the speed of a vehicle changes, a corresponding error occurs with respect to the determined position of the vehicle. This study proposes a novel localization technology to estimate a vehicle's position using long-term evolution (LTE) signals measured using a smartphone in a tunnel. Many antennas are installed along the length of the tunnel to increase LTE coverage. Thus, the LTE received signal strength indicator (RSSI) forms a unique pattern with several peaks in the tunnel. The accumulated LTE RSSI pattern was used to estimate the vehicle position in the tunnel. After the LTE fingerprint inside the tunnel was constructed, the position with the highest correlation with the LTE RSSI sequence of the user buffer was determined as the current vehicle location. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed system, we conducted an extensive field test in an actual tunnel using various off-the-shelf smartphones. Experimental results show that the proposed technology provides stable performance throughout the tunnel space.

Design study of detachable car accident alarm

The current market alarm has limitations such as non-removable, high cost, and many restrictions on the alarm. The removable, embedded installation structure of this design makes the car accident alarm have the advantage of high applicability, and the combination of cell phone APP terminal and embedded hardware design achieves effective reduction of waste of public resources, lower cost and resistance to product popularity. In terms of reliability, the design can detect whether the sensor is damaged, and ensure that the sensor can still correctly determine that the vehicle has been in a car accident when it is damaged, which is more reliable than most alarms. When receiving information about a car accident from the embedded hardware, an alert will be sent through the user's mobile device in time to remind the user. Through the cell phone's built-in GPS positioning technology, the application will automatically obtain information such as the vehicle's current location and send that information to emergency contacts.

Smart Remote Transit Vehicle Monitoring with Emission Alert and Secured Access Using IOT

Abstract: The research paper focuses on addressing automobile theft by proposing a framework utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT), GPS, and GSM technologies. This system allows vehicle owners to track and monitor their vehicles at any time from anywhere, improving security against professional thieves. The IoT sends information about the vehicle's status to the guardian or owner, while GPS provides the vehicle's current location. In case of theft, the fuel supply can be gradually cut off by sending a message, disabling the vehicle, and updating data to the Google Firebase server. An RFID card is provided to start the vehicle, and an Android app is developed using the MIT AppInventor tool for monitoring maps and notifications. Additionally, emission levels are measured and updated to the cloud, and a panic button is included for driver assistance in emergencies. This proposed system enhances existing anti-theft measures while offering innovative features for better vehicle security and management.

A Cluster Based Feasible Time Interval for Tracking Lost or Stolen Vehicle

The system for tracking and monitoring lost or stolen vehicle is challenging. This device is widely used to assess the vehicle's location using GPS technology. It can be used to track a vehicle or vehicle fleet and to obtain information about the vehicle's current location. There are various challenges for tracking and monitoring vehicles and finding lost vehicles due to the lack of proper real-time vehicle location and hence it is difficult to take necessary action in the immediate proper time after the vehicle has lost or stolen. In this paper a Cluster Based Feasible Time Interval for Vehicle Tracking (CFTVT) algorithm for measuring the minimum time interval for taking action after the vehicle has lost or stolen is proposed. This proposed model helps to imply any appropriate vehicle tracking algorithm in the exact proper time after the vehicle has been lost or stolen.

Design and Construction of Smart Vehicle Security System Using GPS and Spy Cam

Aims: Vehicle security is critical in today's world because car thefts are on the rise. robbery, and impersonation are among the crimes committed against automobiles. As a result, keeping track of and safeguarding vehicles has grown to be a significant problem in modern life.
 Study Design: The system combines GPS (Global Positioning Service), GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), and Spy Cam technologies interfaced with an Arduino UNO to track the location of a car in real time.
 Methodology: Short Message Service (SMS) messages are sent to the user or Vehicle authority mobile phone together with images of the current vehicle operator when SMS with the word "Track" is composed and sent to the SIM number inserted into the GSM module. BLYNK Android application serves as database for storing and retrieving cloud information when requested.
 Results: The vehicle current location and the image of the current user will be displayed on Google Maps application of the sender. This technology enhances mobile vehicle security and avoid loss and impersonation. An SMS security warning is also sent to the owner when there is a lot of movement in front of the camera.
 Conclusion: This system helps in detection and reporting of vehicle theft in real time. It can be employed in individual cars since it is affordable; also vehicle safety authorities can employ this technology to help them secure vehicles better.

Innovative System for Metropolitan Sound Pollution Management

According to population Reference Bureau, the current world population is 7.4 Billion. At present, a total number of the vehicle is 1.2 Billion according to survey and it will be 2 Billion up to 2035. Cars and trucks turn out pollution throughout their life, as well as pollution get emit throughout the vehicle operation, refuelling, producing, and disposal. Due to heavier traffic and powerful engines, noise level in cities is rapidly increasing. Our proposed system provides the solution to these problems. Our system Monitor the noise pollution created by vehicle and if any vehicle crosses its threshold value then it will get reported on the LCD and generate notification for municipal corporation. In this project we are using GPS for getting current location of vehicle & software panel checks that whether it is in no honking zone or not, if it is no honking zone then software panel informs Arduino (microcontroller) to control the horn. If user is out of honking zone then horn will reset to its original value.

Real-Time Downward View Generation of a Vehicle Using Around View Monitor System

In this paper, a method to generate the downward image of current vehicle location using a commercial around view monitor (AVM) is proposed. The proposed system consists of three stages, namely feature tracking, obstacle filtering, and downward view generation. In the feature tracking stage, the Shi–Tomasi corner detection is used and feature tracking is performed with a Kanade–Lucas–Tomasi (KLT) tracker to determine the transformation between AVM images. In the obstacle filtering stage, features on obstacles are filtered by using the difference in a tracking distance between features detected on the ground and features detected on the obstacle. This is performed by using a histogram based on the tracking distance of features. Finally, in the downward view generation stage, transformation between the current AVM image and the previous AVM image is obtained by using the tracked feature pair refined via the aforementioned steps. Specifically, the random sample consensus (RANSAC) method is used to obtain transformations from which the influence of outliers is removed. The downward image of the current vehicle is generated by the obtained transformation and is synthesized to the existing AVM image. The results indicate that the proposed system synthesizes the existing AVM image and the generated downward image of a vehicle in a seamless way by determining the exact pair of matching points between current and the previous AVM images. We believe the proposed system can be utilized in efficient wireless charging system and safe driving system.

Vehicle Fuel Activities Monitoring System Using IoT

IoT is extensively used in everyday object and its popularity is increasing day by day. In this paper it includes the design and development of an IoT and mobile-based vehicle fuel activities such as real time fuel monitoring and GPS tracking system. The proposed IoT device measures the amount of fuel by using ultrasonic fuel sensor. When the vehicle tank of fuel reaches a certain level, driver gets notification through mobile application and also searches the nearest pump location for reloading fuel. The proposed system used GPS tracking for showing current location of vehicle and finding nearest pump location.

An efficiency-based path-scanning heuristic for the capacitated arc routing problem

Abstract The capacitated arc routing problem (CARP) is an important combinatorial optimization problem that has been extensively studied in the last decades. The objective is to optimize routes that service demands located on the edges of a graph, given a fleet of homogeneous vehicles with limited capacity that starts and ends its routes at a specific node (depot). This work proposes a new path-scanning heuristic for the CARP which introduces the concept of efficiency rule. Given the current vehicle location, its traversed distance and the amount of serviced demand, the efficiency rule selects the most promising edges to service next. Computational experiments conducted on a set of benchmark instances reveal that the proposed heuristic substantially outperformed all previous path-scanning heuristics from literature.

Advanced Vehicle Tracking System Using ARM7

To Track the position of the vehicle by means of GPS device and automatically sending the data to the remote server webpage and display the current position of the device in the Google map to the authorities. In institution or in ATM cash filling vehicle, most of the time we need to monitor position or path vehicle whether it’s moving in correct direction or not. This system used the ARM7 controller. The real time vehicle tracking and monitoring system tracks the vehicle and displays the current location of the vehicle in the remote server using Google maps. It has the ability to communicate over the remote areas where user needs the current location of vehicle. It can provide Tele-monitoring system for inter-cities transportation vehicles such as taxis and buses. This system is integrated with GPS and GSM to provide features like Location information and Real time tracking using SMS.

Robot Farmers: Autonomous Orchard Vehicles Help Tree Fruit Production

This article presents perception and navigation systems for a family of autonomous orchard vehicles. The systems are customized to enable safe and reliable driving in modern planting environments. The perception system is based on a global positioning system (GPS)-free sensor suite composed of a twodimensional (2-D) laser scanner, wheel and steering encoders, and algorithms that process the sensor data and output the vehicle's location in the orchard and guidance commands for row following and turning. Localization is based on range data to premapped landmarks, currently one at the beginning and one at the end of each tree row. The navigation system takes as inputs the vehicle's current location and guidance commands, plans trajectories for row following and turning, and drives the motors to achieve fully autonomous block coverage. The navigation system also includes an obstacle detection subsystem that prevents the vehicle from colliding with people, trees, and bins. To date, the vehicles sporting the perception and navigation infrastructure have traversed over 350 km in research and commercial orchards and nurseries in several U.S. states. Time trials showed that the autonomous orchard vehicles enable efficiency gains of up to 58% for fruit production tasks conducted on the top part of trees when compared with the same task performed on ladders. Anecdotal evidence collected from growers and workers indicates that replacing ladders with autonomous vehicles will make orchard work safer and more comfortable.

A Speed Control Algorithm for Planar Path Maneuvering

Abstract This paper considers the problem of speed control for vehicles maneuvering along planar paths. Maneuverability constraints are taken into account when determining a purposefully commanded forward speed which prevents a given vehicle from derailing when traversing a given path. A lookahead system is first developed to collect relevant path curvature information ahead of the vehicle. This system is able to maintain a constant along-path distance in front of the current vehicle location, even for paths that are not arc-length parameterized. A speed assignment algorithm is subsequently developed which employs both the lookahead system information and known vehicle maneuverability constraints to yield feasible speed commands. Finally, the behavior of the proposed speed control system is illustrated through simulations which also demonstrate its improved performance compared to using constant speed.

모바일 인터페이스를 이용한 차량 위치 추적 시스템 설계

무선 컴퓨팅 기술 및 이동 객체의 위치를 정확하게 추적할 수 있는 GPS 기술의 발달로 인하여 물류 차량 관리, 항공 교통 통제, 위치 기반 서비스 등과 같은 실시간 환경의 위치 정보 응용 시스템의 개발이 활발해지고 있다. 특히, 차량의 위치를 관제 센터에서 실시간으로 파악하는 차량 위치 추적 시스템에 관한 연구가 대표적인 응용 시스템으로 등장하였다. 그런데 기존의 차량 위치 추적 시스템은 데이터베이스에 저장되지 않은 특정 시간의 차량 위치 정보를 사용자에게 제공하지 못하는 문제점을 갖는다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 PDA와 같은 모바일 인터페이스를 통하여 실시간으로 차량의 위치 추적이 가능한 시스템을 설계한다. 제안 시스템은 차량 위치 검색 서버와 모바일 인터페이스로 구성되며, 이동 차량의 현재 위치뿐만 아니라 데이터베이스에 저장되지 않은 과거 및 미래 위치 정보까지 사용자에게 제공하는 장점을 갖는다. Recent development in wireless computing and GPS technology cause the active development in the application system of location information in real-time environment such as transportation vehicle management, air traffic control and location based system. Especially, study about vehicle location tracking system, which monitors the vehicle's position in a control center, is appeared to be a representative application system. However, the current vehicle location tracking system can not provide vehicle position information that is not stored in a database at a specific time to users. We designed a vehicle location tracking system that could track vehicle location using mobile interface such as PDA. The proposed system consist of a vehicle location retrieving server and a mobile interface. It is provide not only the moving vehicle's current location but also the position at a past and future time which is not stored in database for users.
