Effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of online recorded recovery narratives in improving quality of life for people with psychosis experience (NEON Trial): a pragmatic randomised controlled trial

The Narrative Experiences Online (NEON) Intervention provides self-managed web-based access to mental health recovery narratives (n=659). We evaluated effectiveness and cost-effectiveness in improving quality of life for adults resident in England with mental health problems and recent psychosis experience. Prospectively registered pragmatic parallel-group randomised trial controlling for usual care, recruiting from statutory mental health services and through community engagement activities, with a 52-week primary endpoint (ISRCTN11152837). All trial procedures and the NEON Intervention were delivered by an integrated web-application. Randomisation was through an independently generated list (no stratification). Allocation was masked for statistical staff and the Chief Investigator but not participants. Intervention arm participants received immediate NEON Intervention access. Control arm participants received access after completing primary endpoint questionnaires. The primary outcome was quality of life through the Manchester Short Assessment (MANSA). Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) were collected through web-based safety report forms and identified from health service usage data. The primary analysis was by a prospectively described Intention To Treat principle excluding participants who had registered multiple times, with multiple imputation for missing data. Between 9 March 2020 and 1 March 2021, 739 participants were randomised (intervention:370; control: 369), providing more than 90% power to detect a baseline-adjusted difference of 0.25 in the MANSA score. Mean age was 34.8 years (standard deviation (SD) 12.0), 561 (75.9%) were white British, 443 (59.9%) were female, 609 (82.4%) had accessed specialist care mental health services, and 698 (94.5%) had accessed primary care mental health services. Mean baseline MANSA score was 3.7 for control and intervention arms (SD 0.9 and 1.0). 565 (76.5%) participants provided primary endpoint MANSA data with a mean score of 4.1 (SD 1.0) for both arms. We found no significant difference in Quality of Life between the two arms at the primary endpoint (baseline-adjusted difference 0.07, 95% CI-0.07 to 0.21, p=0.35). The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (£110,501 per quality-adjusted life-year (QALY)) exceeded the prospectively defined cost-effectiveness threshold (£30,000 per QALY). 158(42.8%) control arm and 194 (52.4%) intervention arm participants accessed narratives outside of the NEON Intervention. There were no related serious adverse events (SAEs). 116 unrelated SAEs were reported by control arm participants, and 107 by intervention arm participants. Our findings do not indicate NEON Intervention access for all people with psychosis experience. Future research should consider a) evaluation with current mental health services users; b) optimisation to enable users to find hope-promoting narratives. Characteristics of Fatalities Among Sexual- and Gender-Diverse Youth in the United States: 2015-2020.

Sexual- and gender-diverse youth face unique stressors that negatively impact their health. The objective of this study was to use National Fatality Review-Case Reporting System data to epidemiologically describe fatalities among identified sexual- and gender-diverse youth to inform future prevention efforts. We used 2015 to 2020 data from the National Fatality Review-Case Reporting System to identify deaths among sexual- and gender-diverse youth and compare their characteristics to a matched sample of youth from these same data who were not known to be sexual- and gender-diverse. Demographic, injury, death, history, and life stressor characteristics were analyzed using descriptive statistics. During the study period, 176 fatalities were identified among sexual- and gender-diverse youth. Decedents' mean age was 15.3 years. A greater proportion of deaths was attributed to suicide among sexual- and gender-diverse youth (81%) compared with nonsexual- and gender-diverse youth (54%). Receiving prior (69%) and/or current (49%) mental health services was more common among sexual- and gender-diverse youth, compared with nonsexual- and gender-diverse youth (50% and 31%, respectively). Sexual- and gender-diverse youth were significantly more likely to experience problems in school or be victims of bullying, compared with nonsexual- and gender-diverse youth (63% versus 47% and 28% versus 15%, respectively). Suicide was the most common manner of death for sexual- and gender-diverse youth, despite many decedents receiving current or prior mental health services. These findings indicate the need to improve and diversify interventions to prevent these deaths.

Sexual orientation moderates the association between health care utilization-related factors and mental health service nonutilization among United States military veterans.

This study examined mental health treatment nonutilization among sexual minority versus heterosexual Veterans with demonstrated psychiatric need. Data were analyzed from 820 Veterans with psychiatric need who participated in the National Health and Resilience in Veterans Study, which surveyed a nationally representative sample of U.S. military Veterans. Results revealed that current mental health service nonutilization did not differ between sexual minority versus heterosexual Veterans (70.5% vs. 74.0%). Significant interactions between sexual orientation and sex assigned at birth, primary source of health care (Veteran Affairs [VA] vs. non-VA), and beliefs that peers would blame them for their mental health problems were observed in analyses predicting current mental health treatment utilization. Among Veterans primarily utilizing VA health care, sexual minority Veterans were less likely than heterosexual Veterans to engage in mental treatment; among those primarily using non-VA, this pattern was reversed. Sexual minority Veterans were significantly more likely than heterosexual Veterans to report not knowing where to get help, not having adequate transportation, and having difficulty scheduling an appointment. Taken together, the results of this study suggest that rates of mental health nonutilization are high for both sexual minority and heterosexual Veterans, and that factors that influence utilization may differ by sexual orientation. A protocol for the formative evaluation of the implementation of patient-reported outcome measures in child and adolescent mental health services as part of a learning health system

BackgroundMental health conditions affect one in seven young people and research suggests that current mental health services are not meeting the needs of most children and youth. Learning health systems are an approach to enhancing services through rapid, routinized cycles of continuous learning and improvement. Patient-reported outcome measures provide a key data source for learning health systems. They have also been shown to improve outcomes for patients when integrated into routine clinical care. However, implementing these measures into health systems is a challenging process. This paper describes a protocol for a formative evaluation of the implementation of patient-reported measures in a newly operational child and adolescent mental health centre in Calgary, Canada. The purpose is to optimize the collection and use of patient-reported outcome measures. Our specific objectives are to assess the implementation progress, identify barriers and facilitators to implementation, and explore patient, caregivers and clinician experiences of using these measures in routine clinical care.MethodsThis study is a mixed-methods, formative evaluation using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research. Participants include patients and caregivers who have used the centre’s services, as well as leadership, clinical and support staff at the centre. Focus groups and semi-structured interviews will be conducted to assess barriers and facilitators to the implementation and sustainability of the use of patient-reported outcome measures, as well as individuals’ experiences with using these measures within clinical care. The data generated by the patient-reported measures over the first five months of the centre’s operation will be analyzed to understand implementation progress, as well as validity of the chosen measures for the centres’ population.DiscussionThe findings of this evaluation will help to identify and address the factors that are affecting the successful implementation of patient-reported measures at the centre. They will inform the co-design of strategies to improve implementation with key stakeholders, which include patients, clinical staff, and leadership at the centre. To our knowledge, this is the first study of the implementation of patient-reported outcome measures in child and adolescent mental health services and our findings can be used to enhance future implementation efforts in similar settings.

The Application and Ethical Issues of Digital Mental Health Services

The widespread popularity of digital technology has brought about significant changes in the treatment of mental health problems. Traditional mental health services can no longer meet the needs of society for mental health, and digital mental health services are developing vigorously. Digital mental health services have shown significant advantages in rapid diagnosis, improving mental health, and improving mental service efficiency. This article outlines the development and application of mental health services so far. On the basis of describing the various uses of digital psychological intervention measures, it focuses on the ethical issues faced by the current application of digital mental health services, such as privacy and data security caused by Big data, potential ethical risks caused by digital technology, insufficient clinical verification, imperfect market regulations and professional threats to psychological workers. To ensure the rational and compliant use of digital technology in the field of mental health, this article discusses the ethical problem- solving directions of current digital mental health services from three levels: technical policies, ethical norms and systems, and social individuals, in order to promote the integration of digital technology and mental health services and improve the quality and efficiency of digital mental health services.

Definition, assessment and treatment of cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia: expert opinion and practical recommendations.

A considerable proportion of patients with schizophrenia perform below population norms on standardized neuropsychological tests, and the performance of those performing within normal range is lower than predicted based on parental education. Cognitive impairment predates the onset of psychosis, is observed during symptom remission and in non-affected first-degree relatives of patients. At the present time, cognitive deficits are regarded as key features of schizophrenia, important determinants of poor psychosocial outcome and targets for both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment strategies. A group of eight key opinion leaders reviewed and discussed latest advances in scientific research and current good clinical practices on assessment, management, and treatment of CIAS. In the present paper they summarize the current evidence, identify main gaps between current knowledge and mental health services clinical practice, and provide practical recommendations to reduce the gap.

Enhancing mental health support for international students: A digital framework for holistic well-being in higher education

<p>Mental health issues among students in Australia, particularly international students, remain a significant concern in higher education. We investigated the factors contributing to the ineffectiveness of current mental health services and proposed an innovative digital solution to address these persistent challenges. We introduced a formalized "Well-being Assistive Technology Framework" designed to tackle key issues students face, including social isolation, financial difficulties, and language barriers. These challenges, while exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic, continue to impact student well-being in the post-pandemic era. Based on this framework, a community-based mental health networking mobile application prototype was developed. The app aims to combat mental health issues by facilitating peer support, increasing service awareness, and overcoming language and cultural barriers. It provides a holistic approach to student well-being, incorporating features for quick access support, financial wellness, cultural integration, self-care, self-assessment, legal rights information, and community engagement. Future works involve user-based validation of the developed mobile app to assess its efficacy.</p>

Staff Perspectives in Mental Health Research Regarding Restrictive Interventions: An Australian Scoping Review and Thematic Analysis.

Service users and their families have raised concerns about safety in current acute mental health service delivery. Restrictive interventions are routinely used across mental health settings despite increasing awareness of the negative impacts. Underfunding and risk-averse management practices are implicated as key challenges. Utilizing a scoping review and thematic analysis method, this review explored the existing literature of mental health staff perspectives across various settings (including psychiatric wards and emergency departments), focusing on their experience of restrictive interventions. Four themes were developed: 1. Safety (both staff and patient); 2. Barriers to staff reducing their restrictive interventions; 3. Strength in current practice; 4. Recommendations for change. Key gaps in the literature were the limited perspectives of emergency and crisis clinicians (despite these areas being settings where restrictive interventions are utilized) and limited perspectives from allied health disciplines (despite their employment as clinicians in these settings). It also noted a divide between staff and patient safety, as though these concerns are mutually exclusive rather than cooccurring, which is the experienced reality. Advocacy bodies, governments and the media are calling for a reduction in restrictive interventions in crisis settings. This research synthesis proposes that, to achieve this, clinical staff must be involved in the process and their perspectives actively sought and drawn upon to enable reform.

“A lot of work needs to be done”—Service provider perspectives of mental health services available to Croatia‐ and Bosnia‐born migrants

AbstractResearch suggests that migrants have higher rates of mental health disorders but are less likely to access mental health services, which highlights both their vulnerability to mental illness and inequity in service provision. Despite being large and established culturally similar migrant cohorts in Australia, Croatians and Bosnians are invisible in mental health research. This qualitative study collected practice‐based evidence from eight mental health service providers who have had direct professional contact with these communities, in order to understand how they engage with services, barriers to uptake and provide suggestions for service improvements. Thematic analysis was used to identify themes across interviews, which were then compared against Yang and Hwang's Migrant Mental Health Service Utilisation Model. The study identified unique factors specific to Croatia‐ and Bosnia‐born migrants that impact how they engage with services, including mandated/prescribed services, religious resources, knowledge resources, referral pathways and procedures, and service provider competencies. This study will promote a better understanding of the limitations of the current mental health service offerings for Croatia‐ and Bosnia‐born migrants, making it significant to practitioners, mental health organizations, policymakers and the general public.

Dispelling myths and challenging neglect in ‘borderline personality disorder’ healthcare: a lived-experience perspective

The healthcare experience of many people carrying the label ‘borderline personality disorder (BPD)’ is one of exclusion, discrimination and neglect. The letters ‘BPD’ replace our very humanity, trampling our right to receive evidence-based, appropriate, lawful and compassionate care. Within mental health services our pain, distress, unusual experiences and self-harm/suicidal actions have been reconceptualised as ‘behavioural’ issues, encouraging the promotion of punitive and cruel responses from professionals in an attempt to discourage us from seeking help. ‘Responsibilisation’ narratives, which prioritise personal independence over all else, legitimise institutional neglect. We are told suicide is a choice we have the capacity to make, while care is actively withheld to avoid us becoming dependent on support. Despite the rising suicide rates of people labelled with a personality disorder diagnosis in the UK, our risk continues to be downplayed; rewritten as a risk of death by ‘misadventure’; and accepted by services and coroners as a justifiable outcome of so-called ‘less is more’ care plans. This article explores the current mental health service landscape in which prejudice and stigma direct ‘BPD’ care through the creation and maintenance of clinical mythology, which despite its popularity across healthcare teams, is not supported by ongoing research findings and recommendations.

Technology Matters: Online, self-help single session interventions could expand current provision, improving early access to help for young people with depression symptoms, including minority groups.

Current mental health service provision for young people was primarily designed based on an assumption of repeat attendance to enable access to interventions. This applies to in-person therapy and, in recent years, digitally provided apps and programmes. Yet, discontinuation after only one or two attendances or uses is a common problem. However, there is a different model, which is intentionally designing provision without assuming repeat attendance, that is, single session interventions. Evidence from the United States, where a suite of digital, self-help single session interventions, accessible anonymously, have been designed, indicates that these are helpful to young people with reductions in depression symptoms at up to 9 months later. These interventions also have had better reach into currently underserved populations (e.g. LGBTQ+ and ethnic minority adolescents). Therefore, these may be a potentially helpful way to expand existing provision at scale, enabling all young people to access evidence-based help quickly.

Young adults’ adoption and use of mental health apps: efficient, effective, but no replacement for in-person care

Objective: Millions of people use mobile phone or computer-based applications—apps—to maintain their mental health and connect with treatment providers through text- and video-based chat functions. The present study sought to understand young adults’ motivations for adopting this technology using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), how they use mental health apps, and the gratifications they receive from using mental health apps. Participants: One hundred-eighteen mental health app users responded to an online survey. Methods: A survey was conducted with students at a Midwestern university. The survey included questions regarding current mental health services, mental health apps used, UTAUT and gratifications survey items. Results: A regression analysis suggested users’ performance expectancies, effort expectancies, and facilitating conditions predicted the adoption of mental health apps. Young adults most often use mental health apps for stress relief. While they preferred in-person treatment, users described mental health apps as efficient and helpful. Conclusion: Overall, the results reinforce the sense of optimism for the future of mental health apps, suggesting the potential for apps to supplement—but not necessarily replace—in-person care.

A Novel Blended Transdiagnostic Intervention (eOrygen) for Youth Psychosis and Borderline Personality Disorder: Uncontrolled Single-Group Pilot Study.

Integrating innovative digital mental health interventions within specialist services is a promising strategy to address the shortcomings of both face-to-face and web-based mental health services. However, despite young people's preferences and calls for integration of these services, current mental health services rarely offer blended models of care. This pilot study tested an integrated digital and face-to-face transdiagnostic intervention (eOrygen) as a blended model of care for youth psychosis and borderline personality disorder. The primary aim was to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and safety of eOrygen. The secondary aim was to assess pre-post changes in key clinical and psychosocial outcomes. An exploratory aim was to explore the barriers and facilitators identified by young people and clinicians in implementing a blended model of care into practice. A total of 33 young people (aged 15-25 years) and 18 clinicians were recruited over 4 months from two youth mental health services in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia: (1) the Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre, an early intervention service for first-episode psychosis; and (2) the Helping Young People Early Clinic, an early intervention service for borderline personality disorder. The feasibility, acceptability, and safety of eOrygen were evaluated via an uncontrolled single-group study. Repeated measures 2-tailed t tests assessed changes in clinical and psychosocial outcomes between before and after the intervention (3 months). Eight semistructured qualitative interviews were conducted with the young people, and 3 focus groups, attended by 15 (83%) of the 18 clinicians, were conducted after the intervention. eOrygen was found to be feasible, acceptable, and safe. Feasibility was established owing to a low refusal rate of 25% (15/59) and by exceeding our goal of young people recruited to the study per clinician. Acceptability was established because 93% (22/24) of the young people reported that they would recommend eOrygen to others, and safety was established because no adverse events or unlawful entries were recorded and there were no worsening of clinical and social outcome measures. Interviews with the young people identified facilitators to engagement such as peer support and personalized therapy content, as well as barriers such as low motivation, social anxiety, and privacy concerns. The clinician focus groups identified evidence-based content as an implementation facilitator, whereas a lack of familiarity with the platform was identified as a barrier owing to clinicians' competing priorities, such as concerns related to risk and handling acute presentations, as well as the challenge of being understaffed. eOrygen as a blended transdiagnostic intervention has the potential to increase therapeutic continuity, engagement, alliance, and intensity. Future research will need to establish the effectiveness of blended models of care for young people with complex mental health conditions and determine how to optimize the implementation of such models into specialized services.

Mental Health Service Facility for Men in an Urban Setting: Services Delivery and Sustainability

The current mental health service ecosystem in Malaysia is still fragmented and not well coordinated, even in a private setting. The lack of appropriate services which cater for men further enhances the preexisting barrier toward engagement with mental health services. This article provides a perspective on the elements of male-friendly service facilities which could increase the number of men who come forward for assessment and treatment with continued engagement in maintaining their mental wellness. The focus would be on “what works” in mental health deliveries for men based on the existing data of specific programs or facilities. A brief description of a newly established psychiatric clinic emphasizing the key components incorporated into the design to provide a “safe space” for men is included. This facility will serve as a “clinical laboratory” for putting theory into practice. It will provide an opportunity to better understand the role of masculinity in facilitating help-seeking behavior, the recovery journey, and how it could help in sustaining the recovered individuals within the ecosystem. It would be a baby step toward the future policy for men’s mental health services in Malaysia.

The development of mental health care in Guangzhou, China

As an upper-middle-income country, China has a vast territory, a large population and substantial variations in the nature of mental health service provision. Guangzhou, one of the five biggest cities in China, is considered as indicative of the current development of mental health services in a more economically developed part of China. In this paper, we first introduce mental health services in Guangzhou and their historical development: from the rising development of mental health care (1949 to the mid-1960s), the stagnant development period of the psychiatric hospitals (1966–1976), the rapid development period of the psychiatric hospitals (1978 to the 1990s), to the integrated development period of community mental health care (2000–2020). This historical trajectory partly reflects the development of mental health services across China. Second, from the public health perspective, we introduce the current mental health care delivery system and resources in Guangzhou, including the psychiatric specialist hospitals, psychiatric units of general hospitals, and community mental health care. Third, based on the current mental health service system, we highlight community mental health care in Guangzhou. We will describe these elements of the mental health system under the following headings: organizational setup, management, and services. We also explore the design of community mental health service models and the challenges in the post-covid-19 era. Finally, we provide considerations and recommendations for mental health service delivery in Guangzhou in the future.

Are we ready to be techno-digitalicus psychiatrists?

AbstractDigital mental health interventions and digital psychiatry have been rapidly implemented over the past decade, particularly with the intent to offer a potential solution in those problematic circumstances and logistic issues for which the current mental health service infrastructure is not able to adequately accommodate to the needs of most patients. Indeed, most mental health workforce does not always own an enough and appropriate theoretical either practical training in digital psychiatry and in delivering remote consultations safely and effectively. Most European countries do not have curricula-specific training requirements, either at core or higher specialty level, for psychiatry trainees to demonstrate competence in digital skills that may be considered essential to good clinical practice, including abilities and competencies needed to provide and deliver mental health interventions by using digital tools. Treating Trauma- Evaluation of a multi-disciplinary psychiatry service for patients post major trauma

IntroductionResearch has shown 30-40 % of people who have experienced traumatic injury are at risk of developing mental illness. Some injuries may be the result of mental ill-health, including self-inflicted injury. Furthermore, the development of psychopathology after injury appears to be a major determinant of long term disability. Early intervention can reduce symptom severity and prevent development of mental illness.Ireland’s National Trauma System Implementation Programme, announced in April 2021, highlights the need for screening for mental disorders.The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (MMUH) is designated as one of two national Major Trauma Centres in Ireland. Its trauma service will expand with an expectation of an additional 450- 500 major trauma patients over the next three years.The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service (CLP) currently provides expert mental health input to medical and surgical teams, in managing a range of patients with mental illnesses or psychological difficulties, including those with experience of major trauma.ObjectivesTo examine the current mental health service provision for trauma patients over a six-month period. We aimed to identify areas of need to inform future development of a psychiatry-led MDT service for trauma patients.MethodsA review of all patients admitted on the MMUH trauma pathway between January 2021 and June 2021 was performed. The following data were recorded: demographics, mechanism of injury and information on referrals to the liaison psychiatry service.ResultsThere were 105 trauma cases over the six-month period; 46 females and 59 males. The mean age was 58.4 years (SD 22.16). Twelve individuals were recorded as ‘No Fixed Abode’ or living in homeless accommodation(11.4%).In terms of mechanism of injury; 20 were assaulted of which 8 were stabbing/ knife injuries. There were 65 falls and 12 road traffic accidents. In 3 cases (2.8%), the mechanism of injury was self-inflicted. Twenty patients were admitted to critical care (19%).Of the 105 trauma patients, 19 (18%) were referred to CLP service; 2 (10.5%) were seen in the outpatient setting, the rest as inpatients (89.5%). At least one repeat review was indicated in 10 of the 19 patients (52.6%).ConclusionsTrauma patients have a high rate of comorbid mental illness. Nearly 1/5 are currently referred to the CLP service, which is likely an underestimation of the actual burden of mental health disorders and could be explained by the lack of dedicated services. The liaison psychiatry team provides valuable input into the multidisciplinary care of trauma patients and the demand for its services is likely to increase with the expansion under the Major Trauma Strategy for Ireland.Disclosure of InterestNone Declared

Development of adolescent mental health services in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka has faced two major catastrophes in recent history: the civil war (1983-2009) and the tsunami (2004). Furthermore, there is a continuously changing socioeconomic situation which is becoming ever more challenging. Nearly a quarter of the Sri Lankan population is a youth or adolescent, and this age group is particularly vulnerable to adversity. Over the past decade Sri Lanka has acknowledged the need to support these young people and embarked on developing adolescent mental health services, but they require further expansion. This article provides a critical review of the state of current adolescent mental health services in our country and makes suggestions for improvement.

Evaluation and Application of Cloud Computing in Mental Health Service Platform

With the continuous development of the times, internet technology has gradually matured, and internet medicine has gradually entered the field of mental health. The mental health service platform can help people identify their psychological problems and provide treatment, but there are still shortcomings in current mental health service platforms, so new technologies need to be added for improvement. This article focuses on the research and application of cloud computing in mental health service platforms, aiming to improve the quality of mental health service platforms through cloud computing. Through experiments, this paper tests that after using cloud computing technology, the accuracy of the mental health service platform for users’ psychological test is 78% at the highest and 70% at the lowest, while the accuracy of the mental health service platform for users’ psychological test before using cloud computing is 60% at the highest and 50% at the lowest. From this experimental data, it can be seen that the use of cloud computing in mental health service platforms is very effective.

The Availability, Appropriateness, and Integration of Services to Promote Indigenous Australian Youth Wellbeing and Mental Health: Indigenous Youth and Service Provider Perspectives

Concerns about the complexity, fragmentation and inefficiency of Australia's current youth mental health service systems have led policy makers to seek improvements through a shift to community-based solutions. However, there is little evidence of how communities can make this shift. This paper examines the efforts of one Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (hereafter, respectfully, Indigenous) community-Yarrabah in north Queensland-to develop strategies for mental health and wellbeing service system improvements for school-aged youth (5-18 years). The research was co-designed with Yarrabah's community-controlled health service and explores the perceptions of Yarrabah youth and service providers. Iterative grounded theory methods were used to collect and analyse data from 32 youth aged 11-24 years and 24 service providers. Youth were reluctant to seek help, and did so only if they felt a sense of safety, trust, relationality and consistency with providers. Young people's four suggestions for improvement were access to (1) information and awareness about mental health; (2) youth facilities, spaces and activities; (3) safe and available points of contact; and (4) support for recovery from mental illness. Service providers highlighted an appetite for youth-guided community change and recommended five improvement strategies: (1) listening to youth, (2) linking with community members, (3) providing wellbeing promotion programs, (4) intervening early, and (5) advocating to address the determinants of youth mental health. Overall, both groups realised a disjunct between youth need and service provision, but a willingness to work together for systems change. This study demonstrates the importance of community-driven efforts that harness both youth and service providers' perspectives, and suggests a need for ongoing dialogue as the basis for co-designing and implementing improvements to wellbeing supports and mental health services for Indigenous youth.
