This paper aims to construct a part-of-speech system in modern BRhinese based on insights of pedagogical grammar, in order to facilitate Chinese-learning process of Korean speakers and to improve their communication in Chinese.BR To better address the issue, we conducted several research, includingBR 1) a cross-linguistic survey of different part-of-speech systemsBR 2) a survey of Chinese part-of-speech systems in different countriesBR 3) a design of new Chinese part-of-speech system based on research of pedagogical grammarBR We took the following factors into consideration:BR 1) 3 external criteria – Language Typology, Simplicity, Language PedagogyBR 2) information load of each part-of-speech’ nameBR 3) 5 internal criteria – content-word-ness, definiteness, transitivity, verbness, separabilityBR 4) 1 internal criterion – structureBR The part-of-speech system tailored for Korean CSL learners includes: 명사名詞(noun 名词), 동사動詞(verb 动词), 접속사接續詞(conjunction 连词), 전치사前置詞(preposition 介词), 단위사單位詞(classifier 量词), 부사副詞(adverb 副词), and 조사助詞(particle 助词).
