### Tufts names new Chairman Dr. Anish Bhardwaj, MD, FAHA, FCCM, was named Neurologist-in-Chief at Tufts Medical Center and Chair of Neurology at the School of Medicine. His research focuses on methods for protecting the brain after acute stroke. He will lead the medical center's neurology services and research initiatives and play a major role in expanding the hospital's neuroscience clinical and research program. ![][1] Figure. Anish Bhardwaj, MD, FAHA, FCCM Dr. Bhardwaj came to Tufts from the Department of Neurology at Oregon Health & Science University, where he served as Professor and Vice-Chair of Neurology and Director of the Neurosciences Critical Care Program and Neuroscience Stroke Laboratory. He was previously Vice-Chair of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. ### Greenfield named Chair at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences L. John Greenfield, Jr., MD, PhD, has been named Chairman of the Department of Neurology of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine, effective July 1. ![][2] Figure. John Greenfield, Jr., MD, PhD Dr. Greenfield is currently at the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Ohio, where he is Professor and Vice-Chair for research in the Department of Neurology and a Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology. He also directs the school's MD/PhD Training Program. “We are extremely pleased to have such an outstanding expert as Dr. Greenfield to lead our Department of Neurology,” said College of Medicine Dean Debra H. Fiser. “Not only does he bring leading-edge knowledge of epilepsy and antiepileptic drugs, but experience in training future neurologists and researchers.” Dr. Greenfield is known for his research on the cellular mechanisms of epilepsy, the mechanisms and actions of antiepileptic drugs, and the body's regulation of sensitivity to those medications.
